SportsHD: Okay, this girl i was toasting came over to our hostel which was off campus.
We were just like 8 boys and 11 girls living in the compound. It is a two storied building.
This girl i was toasting came to visit her friends upstairs, they were gisting etc, we men dey our lungu (a small place we demarcated downstairs to gym and smoke). Some were pumping iron and some were smoking.
As the girl i was toasting was coming down the stairs with two other girls, she just slipped and fell down. She slid downwards the steps.
It wasn't funny, but it was also funny.
Like 5 guys just rushed to her rescue, I just sat down on the bench, earpiece in my ear while puffing my Benson switch.
Shaa, she didn't break anybone. And my guys paid for an uber to take her home.
The next day, I hit her up on whatsapp, I asked how is your body etc, she replied; she's fine but kinda sore from the fall.
I then asked how about what i talked to you about sey make me and you dey tamahog i.e, make we dey date.
She said, she can't date a heartless person o, I said how come? She replied that i didn't even come to her aid when she fell down that what if she died or got seriously injured? In my mind i was like shey i resemble your mama ni or shey na me dey chop you pussy ni that I'll come to your aid.
I told her that over 5 guys came to your rescue that what difference would me being the sixth one do? And there were at least 4 girls present there with her too.
Long story short, she say she can't date me but she can still change her mind. Then she sent a picture of a new restaurant in palms Mall that she'll like to try their food.
I said I can Cook better than this at home. since this last message, she hasn't replied me she ignored me.
Things i noticed; If i wasn't a lil bit rich, she wouldn't say she can't date me but she can still change her mind.
2. Until i have that pkekus, I'll never take that bitch out.
I know sey na shakara she dey do, I go still Bleep her.

PAQ: Nairalanders dont like reading, they just prefer pictures of big ikebe. That is why things like XYZ is twerking will make front page!
I remember when Hyundai Kona was launched in Lagos as first locally assembled electric vehicle, na so e-rats made a mockery of it because of our epileptic power supply, forgetting that there are high brow areas cut across the country that enjoy 24/7 stable electricity. I wish this charging station can be made across all the 36 states, it will shock some people at the amount of EVs that will flock our roads.
A very welcome development from the north, this is the kind of healthy competition we need in terms of development. Not the current unhealthy tribalistic & religious competition we currently have.
Well said. You clearly spoke my mind.
There are some annoying users of this Website who will tell an OP to "summarise" their posts. That's mental laziness.
Priceless gems that a savvy person can monetise or add value to are usually embeded in a lot of Internet or NL posts that go unread.
CotenantNIG: Why is property expensive in Lagos? Have you ever been involved in a conversation around this question?
No doubt, Lagos is the commercial hub of Nigeria and this is the reason its real estate sector has been an issue discussed in several fora, both home and abroad.
The number of housing units available in Lagos is not sufficient for the population. According to the Pison Housing Group’s 2019 report, the housing stock in Lagos is estimated to be 1.492 million units, while the United Nations put its population at 18 million people in 2019.
Below are reasons property in Lagos remains largely expensive:
Greedy Real Estate Agents: A lot of real estate agents in Lagos are notoriously greedy. A lot of people can actually afford to pay the rent of a house they’ve seen but imagine an agent asking for almost the same amount for agreement, commission, etc . Some deliberately deny people access to affordable properties for example you try to rent an apartment with a rent of ₦200,000 yearly an agent can demand up to ₦170,000 for agreement, commission, damages etc.
Inconsiderate landlords: Due to how desperate some Lagosians are, Landlords take advantage of this and deliberately increase the cost of renting their houses, landlords in Lagos know if you don’t pay for the apartment on time some other person out of desperation would pay for the apartment that might be too expensive for you.
Yahoo Boys: Have you noticed the reasons why agents increase agreement and commission is because yahoo boys don’t negotiate they just pay and move in. Yahoo Boys can pay for anything, I believe they play a major role in the high cost of rent in Lagos.
Location: Rent defer in Lagos, the cost of renting a 2 bedroom apartment is much lower than the cost of renting a mini flat in Ikoyi or Lekki but it can be worst when the cost of renting a 2 bedroom apartment in egbeda that is closer to the road or bus stop is more expensive than the ones that are inside the streets. Just add ₦20,000 to ₦30,000 inside your rent calculation
Structure of the House: The cost of renting a new house is much more expensive than an old house even if they are close to each other. The funny thing is the old house has a stronger design than the new house, for example, the plumbing work of the older house is much better than the new houses that are been built right now. One example is an estate called Goodluck Jonathan at Pipeline Isheri Igando Road, the houses look beautiful on the outside but the plumbing works , drainage etc is a mess
Too Many Prospects: A house can be viewed by more than 10 prospects in a day, this gives house owners and agents the perfect opportunity to increase the cost of rent and stand by it. They both know that one person would eventually pay, houses in Lagos go very fast. There is no first-come basis in Lagos real estate market, it is first to pay.
What is your take? Please kindly enlighten us with a comment below. Thank you

Why do you always comment on old threads and share them? Weird, if you ask me.
Victoria, you are becoming very daring.
You have the chutzpah to make underhanded comments about me here. Can't a man have peace of mind again?
Let me school you a bit. I've been using online discussion fora such as this since the 1990s. There is no law that says you cannot comment on and/or share old but evergreen topics on NL or other online media platforms.
History books containing 500 years historical info can be "read" and "shared" as well isn't it?
There are also some threads or NL topics that I've never read so I generally comment on an eclectic mix of new and relatively old topics that are newsworthy and evergreen!
Aha! Vicky... you owe me one of those Akwa Ibom dishes for insinuating that I need to see a "shrink."
I enjoy going through your posts and sensible shares though anytime I have the time to log in.
Okay then, I wish you an amazing year ahead dear, mask up as-and-when-due, and stay safe. *hugs*
Explorers: Nigeria Airways Ltd., more commonly known asNigeria Airways, was a Nigerian airline.
The company was founded in 1958 after the dissolution of West African Airways Corporation.
It was wholly owned by the Government of Nigeria, and served as the country's flag carrier until it ceased operations in 2003.
The airline was managed by a number of foreign companies, including British Airways, KLM and South African Airways.
It had its heyday in the early 1980s, just after a KLM team two-year-management period; at that time its fleet comprised about 30 aircraft.
The airline's operations were concentrated at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Plagued by mis-management, corruption, and overstaffing, at the time of closure the airline had debts of more than US$60,000,000(equivalent to $78,115,051 in 2016), a poor safety record, and its operative fleet comprised a single aircraft flying domestic routes as well as two leased aircraft operating the international network.
Nostalgic... I'm remembering my first Nigeria Airways DC10 flight to Lagos in 1980.
6 of my fam members on board the flight with paper tickets and paper boarding passes.
China was preparing for a Third World War with biological weapons - including coronavirus - SIX years ago, according to bombshell dossier that was uncovered by the US State Department
Chinese scientists have been preparing for a Third World War fought with biological and genetic weapons including coronavirus for the last six years, according to a document obtained by US investigators.
The bombshell paper, accessed by the US State Department, insists they will be 'the core weapon for victory' in such a conflict, even outlining the perfect conditions to release a bioweapon, and documenting the impact it would have on 'the enemy's medical system'.
This latest evidence that Beijing considered the military potential of SARS coronaviruses from as early as 2015 has also raised fresh fears over the cause of Covid-19, with some officials still believing the virus could have escaped from a Chinese lab.
The dossier by People's Liberation Army scientists and health officials, details of which were reported in The Australian, examined the manipulation of diseases to make weapons 'in a way never seen before'.
Senior government figures say it 'raises major concerns' over the intentions of those close to Chinese President Xi Jinping amid growing fears about the country's lack of regulation over its activity in laboratories.
The authors of the document insist that a third world war 'will be biological', unlike the first two wars which were described as chemical and nuclear respectively.
Referencing research which suggested the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan forced them to surrender, and bringing about the end of WWII, they claim bioweapons will be 'the core weapon for victory' in a third world war.
The document also outlines the ideal conditions to release a bioweapon and cause maximum damage.
The scientists say such attacks should not be carried out in the middle of a clear day, as intense sunlight can damage the pathogens, while rain or snow can affect the aerosol particles.
Instead, it should be released at night, or at dawn, dusk, or under cloudy weather, with 'a stable wind direction...so that the aerosol can float into the target area'.
Meanwhile, the research also notes that such an attack would result in a surge of patients requiring hospital treatment, which then 'could cause the enemy's medical system to collapse'.
Other concerns include China's 'Gain of Function' research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology - near where the first Covid outbreak was discovered - at which virologists are creating new viruses said to be more transmissible and more lethal.
MP Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the foreign affairs committee, said: 'This document raises major concerns about the ambitions of some of those who advise the top party leadership. Even under the tightest controls these weapons are dangerous.'
Chemical weapons expert Hamish de Bretton-Gordon said: 'China has thwarted all attempts to regulate and police its laboratories where such experimentation may have taken place.'
The revelation from the book What Really Happened in Wuhan was reported yesterday.
The document, New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons, says: 'Following developments in other scientific fields, there have been major advances in the delivery of biological agents.
'For example, the new-found ability to freeze-dry micro-organisms has made it possible to store biological agents and aerosolise them during attacks.'
It has 18 authors who were working at 'high-risk' labs, analysts say.
Australian Strategic Policy Institute executive director Peter Jennings also raised concerns over China's biological research into coronaviruses potentially being weaponised in future.
'There is no clear distinction for research capability because whether it's used offensively or defensively is not a decision these scientists would take,' he said.
'If you are building skills ostensibly to protect your military from a biological attack, you're at the same time giving your military a capacity to use these weapons offensively. You can't separate the two.'
Intelligence agencies suspect Covid-19 may be the result of an inadvertent Wuhan lab leak. But as yet there is no evidence to suggest it was intentionally released.
Only this week, Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro appeared to strongly criticise China by accusing it of creating Covid to spark a chemical 'warfare.'
The comments were made during a press conference on Wednesday as the hardline leader sought to further distance himself from the growing attacks over his domestic handling of a pandemic that has produced the second-highest death toll in the world.
'It's a new virus. Nobody knows whether it was born in a laboratory or because a human ate some animal they shouldn't have,' Bolsonaro said.
'But it is there. The military knows what chemical, bacteriological and radiological warfare. Are we not facing a new war? Which country has grown its GDP the most? I will not tell you.'
While Bolsonaro did not name China in his speech, data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development showed that China was the only G20 member whose GDP showed a growth during the pandemic in 2020, expanding by 2.3%.
And the World Health Organization chief said as recently as March that all theories on the origins of Covid-19 remained open after reading the WHO-China study – despite the claim the report dismissed the notion that the virus escaped from a lab as 'extremely unlikely'.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said all of the hypotheses are 'on the table' and require further investigation after reading the report from the international experts' mission to Wuhan.
But his comments came just hours after it emerged the report dismissed the lab leak theory and said the transmission of the virus from bats to humans through another animal is the most likely scenario.
The report's release was repeatedly delayed, raising questions about whether the Chinese side was trying to skew the conclusions to prevent blame for the pandemic falling on China.
Critics including ex-President Trump have accused the WHO of parroting Chinese propaganda on the virus since the outbreak was first announced to the world.
The comments by Dr Tedros came after New York Republican Representative Lee Zeldin slammed China for 'covering up to the world the pandemic's origins', while the WHO 'has played along time and time again'.
Meanwhile, Dr Anthony Fauci, President Biden's chief medical adviser, revealed he has 'concerns' over the WHO's controversial fact-finding mission.
Repeated delays in the report's release raised questions about whether the Chinese side was trying to skew its conclusions.
'We've got real concerns about the methodology and the process that went into that report, including the fact that the government in Beijing apparently helped to write it,' U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a recent CNN interview.
China rejected that criticism and accused the US of 'exerting political pressure' on the fact-finding mission experts.
'The US has been speaking out on the report. By doing this, isn't the U.S. trying to exert political pressure on the members of the WHO expert group?' asked Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian.
Scientists studying bat diseases at China's maximum-security laboratory in Wuhan were engaged in a massive project to investigate animal viruses alongside leading military officials – despite their denials of any such links.
Documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday reveal that a nationwide scheme, directed by a leading state body, was launched nine years ago to discover new viruses and detect the 'dark matter' of biology involved in spreading diseases.
One leading Chinese scientist, who published the first genetic sequence of the Covid-19 virus in January last year, found 143 new diseases in the first three years of the project alone.
The fact that such a virus-detection project is led by both civilian and military scientists appears to confirm incendiary claims from the United States alleging collaboration between the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the country's 2.1 million-strong armed forces.
The scheme's five team leaders include Shi Zhengli, the WIV virologist nicknamed 'Bat Woman' for her trips to find samples in caves, and Cao Wuchun, a senior army officer and government adviser on bioterrorism.
Prof Shi denied the US allegations last month, saying: 'I don't know of any military work at the WIV. That info is incorrect.'
Truly we live in a world of actors and spectators! *sighs*

Mrskillz1: I am from a family of three. I have two brothers. One older and the other younger than me so I'm the only girl in my family.
I grew up seeing my Mom mad. By my teen age, I got admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University alongside my elder brother who was to study Engineering. By the time I was in my finals, my brother was getting ready for IT. One day, his roommate sent for me, he said they couldn't sleep the night before because my brother was talking to himself. Before we knew what was happening, my brother was getting violent and so we took him home and he never got back to finish school. I proceeded with my education and finished. Went for NYSC. While serving the nation, My Mom died. When I got home, she'd been buried. But my brother was still mad.
I later got job, took my brother to a Psychiatric hospital and the doctor after examining him said he is Schizophrenic. He was asked to stay in the hospital. I paid. He then stayed there for one month. When I came to visit him, he pleaded with me to take him home that he didn't like it there.
So I took him home. Every month, I buy drugs for him and he gets injected. He usually puts up a fight but with the help of my younger brother, neighbors and a certain nurse, he receives the injection, forcefully and against his will. Often times, he pleads with me not to inject him, the very time I obliged him, he scattered things, didn't allow the neighborhood sleep, talked throughout some nights and wouldn't eat sometimes. He looked really sick then but with the injection, one will hardly know he's not normal. I told him that I won't let him miss his injection ever again.
Now, on Monday, my younger brother woke up and was unusually quiet. He normally wakes up and begins to play music with his phone or he will turn to football channel and watch until I leave for work. But I didn't go to work on Monday and I noticed he was quiet, then I asked him why he's quiet. He didn't respond. After some hours, I asked my Dad if he feels he's okay, My Dad said that he wants to be quiet and that I should let him be.
Then, that night, around 4am, my brother began to talk. He was shouting and some of the things he said were not coherent. He talked out of point. I and my Dad, with my elder brother surrounded him and I couldn't help crying when my Dad was cautioning him to keep quiet and he refused. Neighbours thought it was my elder brother's voice they'd heard that night but by the time they heard in the morning that it was my younger brother, they visited my Dad in the evening. By then, my brother was still talking and even burnt his clothes yesterday. My Dad got a few guys to chain him because he was violent yesterday when I left the house. I know the problem is spiritual. I have prayed, fasted for my elder brother and now this! I'm so unhappy.
Can someone suggest a place I can take my two brothers to so they can be cured, please.
Phew... Your 2 brothers?! Okay... Not to worry.
Psychotherapy at any major psychiatric hospital such as in Lagos will help to tackle this. Psychiatric doctors have handled issues like this with the right type of drugs.
Academic mental stress and/or a secret intake of "hard drugs" such as the deadly "Methampetamine" by any of your brothers may have triggered the mental psychosis.
The above link is the last thread about my step dad.
Sorry guys, I haven't been active here for a while because I took a break to sort out some personal issues and one of them is my step dad wahala. He seemed to have calmed down but since the beginning of last month he has started his old behavior and with the way things are going, it seems I will have to take one final and drastic decision to stop it.
I am here still thinking about what to do because I don't want to take laws into my hands so I am trying to be calm and cool and I hope I can continue doing that.
Okay @BaddieFreak, I just took the time off to read the 2 other threads that you created since December 2020 around this issue. I like the fact that you've been dogged as a young lady about protecting your mum. Being a man myself, I was fiercely protective of my mum as well.
These are red flags that are indicative of the fact that she has to leave the house so she doesn't end up permanently scared emotionally and physically.
Second, financial issues and women nagging or talking back harshly towards men are factors that can make most men react in anger.
This is why men and women have to read up books on "emotional intelligence" before getting into a relationship in order to be able to defuse potentially tense situations in the real world!
If all attempts by your mum to speak calmly and listen to the subtle comments of your stepdad doesn't work, she simply has to leave in the meantime to allow things to calm down.
Last but not least, your stepdad has to help himself by going for alcohol addiction treatment or rehab in Lagos. He can contact any of the "Alcoholics Anonymous" online for help.
Stress and financial challenges are the usual triggers for alcoholic addiction and domestic violence by some men and women.
I sense he loves your mum since he cried and begged your mum for forgiveness a few months back. He has to go for alcohol addiction detox NOW!
I hate it when a man repeatedly beats up a woman under the influence of alcohol.

People were taking pictures in front of these two Men kissing art. I also saw some Men kissing right here, trying to replicate the image. Mehn me i just comot my eyes, God forbid oh.
Pictures coming soon 1...
Awesome iconic images from Berlin. I had some pieces of the Berlin wall with grafiti painted on them as of 1991, but sadly misplaced it years later. I'll def get a replacement even if it means paying for it!
Berlin and Dresden in Germany sadly suffered massively from massive Allied aerial bombings during the WW2 killing thousands of innocent German people.
Good to see that Berlin became the capital of a new unified Germany.
Cousin9999: Makes sense. It's not that deep. There's plenty of women. Furthermore, if you approach multiple times, it's harassment and reeks of desperation.
However, sometimes things change. And many women want the guy to make the first move. There are also some people who have the potential to be great relationships, so you shouldn't be so quick to toss them aside. Maybe stop approaching, but monitor the situation.
But most women don't want a guy to act like a telemarketer or Jehovah's Witness.
How do you guys stay on a particular project/work for at least 5 hours with maximum productivity without getting tired easily? I noticed must of you work long hours like you're computers. Do you guys take caffeine or any stimulate to keep you charged to work a long time? I'm been trying to learn some skills with my phone and I gas out easily. I'm not happy about this as I've given myself a timeline to master certain things but it's not pulling through. How do I work long hours and become effective at the same time?
Okay, this post is interesting and deeply provocative.
The best thing to do to feel upbeat when doing major daily tasks is to:
1. Imagine the "end results" of your projects. See yourself feeling good about your accomplishments and the value they bring to the society.
2. Listen to classical music from the all-time greats like Handel, Bethoven, etc, to calm you and create focus.
3. Read a good book on the "80/20 Principle or Pareto Principle" which will let you manage your daily work time effectively (Time management).
It simply infers that 20% of the things you do daily, weekly, yearly, etc, will give you 80% of your positive results and vice versa.
These 3 and more have worked over the years for me.

crispgg: This is a touching story about a Nigerian man who "lost" himself in the US. Real life lessons for those who want to travel out by all means. Don't forget family....very important!
A man engulfed in flames hung out a car door as the vehicle sped down Old Liverpool Road the morning of Jan. 11 before smashing into a wall. The man was dead before firefighters arrived.
So began the final mysterious chapter of two lives lived by one man. The investigation into the fiery car crash would eventually tell the tale of a black man living under a white man's name, a Nigerian musician who became an unemployed American mechanic, and a secret revealed only by death.
Detective Jon Seeber and several other detectives from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office began the tedious process that morning of piecing together what clues they could find. Their goal was to identify the man and notify his family.
The body was badly burned. The car's registration gave detectives a name: George Clark.
Fire investigators soon sifted through the wreckage. A New York driver's license in the man's wallet - which he had been sitting on - was spared from the flames. It also belonged to George Clark.
The driver's license listed an address at P.O. Box 26, at the Postal Service's South Salina Street office in Syracuse. As several detectives talked with witnesses to the crash, others searched for a street address to find a family member. That turned up an apartment on West Genesee Street in Syracuse.
In heaps of documents in the tiny apartment detectives found bills, junk mail, pay stubs, tax returns, a worn birth certificate, expired driver's licenses and a folded, tattered Social Security card. All said George Clark. It was affirmation that they had the right person but little help in notifying the family.
Bank records showed he had less than $1,000 in his account. Staff at a temp agency where he worked said they often had trouble reaching him. His records there listed no family members or contacts. Authorities turned to database searches to find a relative.
An identity unravels
Detectives ran George Clark's name and Social Security number through a state and federal criminal history database and made an startling discovery: The number was tied to another George Clark.
That George Clark lived in North Carolina and had a criminal history. A mug shot and other records showed the George Clark in North Carolina was a heavyset white man in his 50s. The photo on the driver's license salvaged from the car crash showed a black man who was much older and thinner.
Jon Seeber and his fellow detectives were left scratching their heads.
Police in North Carolina confirmed for the sheriff's office that the George Clark there was alive. He told detectives he had problems with identity theft over the years, and that he had previously lived in New York City.
The name that just earlier that day authorities believed belonged to the man killed in the car crash was now all but meaningless.
The dead man had paid taxes and traffic tickets, bought car insurance and life insurance, received a physical from his doctor and gotten approved for a car loan, all using another man's identity.
Fatal crash Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh speaks about a fatal crash on Old Liverpool Road. Seeber went back to the man's apartment. It was a small efficiency with few amenities, but Seeber wanted to be sure they hadn't missed any clues.
In stacks of personal papers, detectives found a battered manila envelope wedged between several other envelopes in a drawer. Scrawled on its front: "Roots."
Inside was an old photo of the dead man playing guitar and about a dozen folded letters written on cheap paper.
The letters were addressed to Eteng Itam. They were from a son, brother and sister. The letters - from the 1990s and 2000s -- asked how Itam's life was in the United States, said how much he was missed and informed him that his father was sick and dying. They also thanked him for sending money orders to his son.
George Clark was really Eteng Ikpi Itam, a 63-year-old Nigerian.
Who was George Clark?
Friends and acquaintances told detectives they only knew the dead man as George Clark. He never once breathed a word about his true identity, though in hindsight, some said, there were hints.
"Basically he was a loner," said Venus Dennis. She met Clark in 2003 outside a bakery in Syracuse. They struck up a conversation and he asked for her phone number.
The pair began going to dinner and spending time together. He occasionally came over to Dennis' house. He mostly went to work and went home, she said.

He told her he worked as a mechanic at Sears for some time and later had a temp job at a plastic manufacturer that lasted two years. Dennis sometimes dropped him off for work there.
On the weekends, he preferred to stay in his apartment rather than socialize.
"If you invited him to a BBQ, he would bow out nicely," Dennis said.
Dennis said she invited him to movies many times, but he never accepted. Instead, he'd typically drive Dennis and her son to the theater and then pick them up later.
He did seem to like two things: cars and books. He read often and would hunt for books at bookstores and thrift shops.
Sherba Whitehurst, who met Clark around 2000, said he preferred books about cowboys and the Old West.
He also loved music, played an old acoustic guitar on occasion and frequented jazz festivals and events in Syracuse.
Although he apparently never revealed his true identity, he did drop hints, friends said.
Pictured is an apartment building at 1269 West Genesee Street, on the right, in Syracuse. Eteng Itam lived there for more than a decade. Dick Blume | dblume@syracuse.com "Sometimes he'd talk to you in riddles," she said. "He never said he was from Nigeria." He spoke English, but Whitehurst said she sometimes heard him talking on his cell phone in some other language. He did tell Dennis that he was from Africa and had left because of a land dispute with his brother, but provided few other details.
He would often become depressed over money, Dennis said. More than once he told her he was behind on his rent and having trouble finding work with the temp agency. Dennis said Itam also showed her a hatchet he kept behind the seat of his car.
"I kind of distanced myself after that," she said.
Who was Eteng Itam?
The detectives slowly uncovered details of Eteng Itam's life in Nigeria. With help from the State Department, they contacted the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York City. The consulate eventually found Itam's family in Nigeria and notified them of his death. DNA kits sent to Africa and returned by the family to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office positively confirmed months later that it was Itam's body in the January crash.
Detectives weren't able to talk directly with Itam's family. They, however, heard from a handful of his childhood friends who learned of his death through his family.
Those friends recalled a much different person than the quiet loner who lived in Syracuse, kept to himself and worked with his hands.
Eteng Ikpi Itam was born June 13, 1949, in Cross River, Nigeria. He came from a financially comfortable, educated and well-respected family, said Eteng Eno, whose father and family were close with Itam's father and family. Eno runs a chemical business in New Jersey.
Itam's father was a prominent government official, his sister a college professor and one brother a chief justice, Eno said.

Growing up, Itam was an intelligent and polite young man, the friends said. In his younger years in Nigeria, Eno considered Itam something of a role model. He graduated from high school with honors. He was tall, handsome and well-dressed, Eno said, and he never wanted for a date.
He attended college and studied veterinary medicine, Eno said. His real passion, however, was music. He taught himself to play guitar and performed for school groups and church and holiday events.
Eno said he believes Itam studied veterinary medicine to satisfy his father, though he longed to be a musician.
"His father didn't want him to do music," said Sylvester Ikpi, a childhood friend who now lives in Maryland.
Itam came from a large family, Eno said, and his father had many children, several marriages and several divorces. Itam was the only child his father had with his mother.
"I suspect that he didn't see himself fitting in with a large family," Eno said.
At some point, Itam went in a different direction. Eno remembers overhearing his father and Itam's father discuss his son's lifestyle change. Itam, quit his job and moved. He began playing music professionally and toured with several groups, including one that eventually went to play in the United States in the 1970s.
When the band returned home, Itam stayed behind in New York City.
Ikpi came to the United States in 1977 and received letters from Itam's family asking him to look him up. They hadn't heard from him.
Ikpi and others were never able to find Itam, but he apparently sent a letter to family in Nigeria with his P.O. box as a return address. That is how he received the letters that led detectives to his real identity. When he rented the box in 1996 Itam listed the names George Clark and Eteng Itam. In 2009 he removed his real name.
According to Itam's death certificate, he obtained a visa good for four years but that expired. Detectives said birthday cards found in his apartment indicated he may have stayed in a homeless shelter in New York City. A check with the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement turned up Itam's date of birth, but his alien number has been reassigned and his file long since destroyed.
Little is known of Itam's time in New York City during the 1970s. An old, undated ID card found in his Syracuse apartment shows that he worked for East Side/West Side Messenger Service. He was using the name George Clark by then.
Seeber said detectives believe Itam stole the identity of George Clark Jr. while in New York City, but that they found no evidence that Itam committed any other crimes. The real George Clark was born in Brooklyn, but it's not apparent if the two men ever knew each other or met.
A phone message left for George Clark in North Carolina was returned by his mother, Joyce Clark, who said her son was out of town and unavailable to answer questions.
Asked about her son's identity being stolen, Joyce Clark said the identity theft "ruined his life," but that he has since gotten a fresh start.
She said she and her son never had anything to do with Eteng Itam.
"We never seen him before in our lives," she said. That happened years ago. We don't know a damn thing about him and I'm glad he's dead."
A meeting of two lives
Even after the mystery was solved, questions lingered about Itam's final resting place.
According to Itam's death certificate, Geico refused to pay on his life insurance because of the identity theft. His family in Nigeria couldn't afford to have his remains shipped home.
The Onondaga County Department of Social Services paid most of the $3,450 cost of the Itam's burial in Loomis Hill Cemetery. Just a few people attended the March 22 service and burial: A few friends, several officials from the Nigerian consulate in New York City, a minister, the funeral director and Itam's landlord.
In the end, the man who lived quietly for decades as George Clark was buried in Syracuse under a modest grave marker that simply reads Eteng Ikpi Itam.
Phew! A trained vet doctor turned musician!
He lived in the U.S. from 1977 to 2013.
This is an emotionally moving story... deeply sobering.

LadyX: Yesterday I left work a little bit late. As usual, I said a short prayer before leaving. It was something like, “Father I pray that you protect and guide me. Take me home safely. God hold my hand while crossing the road and choose for me the vehicle I will board. I pray this believing in Jesus name. Amen”
As soon as I crossed the road I saw a vehicle coming. It was around 7:30pm. I knew I would get to the CBD in about 20 minutes and board a bus going home. I estimated that I would get home latest 8:45 pm.
When we were close to town, the driver decided to change the route. People complained, but he went on. He stopped to pick passengers. They were many, but refused to get in because they expected the fare too be lower than what they were being told. We spent a few minutes there. When they got in, we continued with our journey. Shortly after, we encountered heavy traffic. Vehicles were not moving. I consoled myself that soon they would move and I would be in town by 8:00pm.
When the vehicles eventually got to move, they would move something like 3-5 footsteps then we would stay for another 5 minutes or so. A few times the driver was asleep so the conductor had to hit the car for him to wake up. As a result, many vehicles went ahead of us. I was annoyed. In my mind I was like, “How did I get into this vehicle? Why didn’t I wait for another one? I swear I will not board vehicles from this company again.”
When we got close to town (around 8:45) 3 vehicles rammed into each other, so we had to walk. I walked for like 20 minutes, got into a bus and headed home. When I alighted, I decided to cross the road (which is unlike me) and buy some throat lozenges (I had an irritation in my throat which was almost over because I was on medication). Then I crossed back and headed to the house.
I saw many people gathered close to the gate of a neighbouring building (it was around 9:40). On enquiring about what was happening. “Caro (not real name) and her boyfriend have just been kidnapped. The thugs went with them and their car.” I was told by our landlord’s daughter.
The incident had just happened. Meaning if I had come earlier, I would have found those guys around our entrance waiting (our gates are next to each other). They would have probably kidnapped me or even held me captive so that I don’t tell on them. The place is well lit. I went to the house and thanked God for the delay I encountered before. Everything happens for a reason. And I have learnt not to complain! Father, thank you because it’s only You who knows what those criminals would have done to me.
Though on a serious note, this is hardly a reason to suddenly hate men. You're still young, and beginning to discover how many douchebags exists as men...gear up for the years ahead, it could get worse and then it will get better.
You still need to cool off though; take a break, enjoy ur girlfriends, flirt, and when you're ready some guy will blow u off ur feet and u just may have found that perfect guy (or maybe just another douche). Point is, it's all a gamble, u win some and lose some but never lose hope.

But I will advise to go to market where people from Benin do patronize, this is because they have large volume of goods than any others part of this country, they are the one control the price of Plantain in Lagos or Abuja.
If you sign then in large number try to visit another market where they are not many because they will fall the price if plantain on that day.
