Family › Re: How To Apply For International Passport Withiout NIN by Konquest: 7:23am On May 24, 2021
iknowexperts:
Its simple really.

Around 3 weeks ago I saw a post by a fellow Nairalander about how he had to forfeit the 26,000 he paid for international passport and start a fresh application.

He had issue with his NIN. And he decided to apply for passport without NIN since it will be faster, as against correcting the NIN issue - which might take some weeks - before applying for the passport.

He needed the passport urgently.

He started with the normal online registration. And also paid the 25,000 plus 1000 bank charges online. Next he gathered the requirements and headed to Ikoyi passport office.

It was there that he got the bad news. NIN is a compulsory requirement for the type of passport he paid for.

His options were to correct the error in his NIN before continuing with his application.

Or forfeit payment and start a fresh application at another office which issue out the passport that does not require NIN.

He chose the latter.

There are several reasons why an applicant might want a passport without NIN:

It might be because:

• Its costs less.
• You might not have NIN
• Or just like the person in the story, you might have NIN issues for example Date of birth which might be difficult to correct as at the time you need your passport.
• Or any other reason best know to the applicant.

If that is the case, how do you apply for passport without NIN?

Like I said, its simple.

The passport for which NIN is complusory is the enhanced epassport.

The passport which NIN is not a compulsory requirement is called the Standard passport. This is the one you will be applying for.

But the thing is, in the NIS portal, when you are applying for the passport they do not ask you if you want the standard passport or the enhanced epassport. Neither do they tell you which passport office issue out what type of passport.

So if you do not know about the difference between types of passport, you might not know which type you are getting.

I'll explain.

The way to know is by looking out for the validity of the passport in each passport office.

The validity period of the standard passport is 5 years while for the enhanced passport you have both for 5 years and 10 years validity.

Go to the NIS portal select Standard E-passport and start your passport application normally.
Here is the link ==> https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/estandard

When you get to processing state, select a state of your choice. Next choose processing office if there are more than one office for that state.

Under "passport booklet type" select 64 pages (don't worry, you can come back and change it if it is the 32 pages you want)

Next click on "Validity type."

If the passport office you chose issue out Standard passport, you will only see "5 years" just like in the first attached picture below.

If the passport office issue Enhanced epassport you will see both "5 years" and "10 years" just like in the second picture.

To even confirm further continue your application to the next page and you will see that the price for standard passport is 17,000 (3rd picture) and the cost for enhanced epassport is 25,000 (4th picture) excluding bank charges.

Note that the above prices are for 32 pages booklet

This amount is in line with what you will find in the NIS website here ==> https://immigration.gov.ng/standard-passport/

And here ==> https://immigration.gov.ng/enhanced-epassport/

Scroll down till you get to the amount.

So, if it is the standard passport you need, you follow these steps till you find a passport office at a convenient location.

This process is a little cumbersome and time consuming though.

However, when I filled my own passport application form online... I clicked on all 41 passport offices to know which offices issue out enhanced epassport and which offices issue out standard passport that does not require NIN.

I outlined all of the respective offices and the type of passport they issue in chapter 2 of the Fresh Passport Guide.

Its a step by step Do It Yourself guide for applying and getting a fresh international passport.

In the next post, we will talk about how to apply for a passport for your baby or for your child under the age of 18.

Family › Re: How To Process Nigeria International Passport For Your Child Under The Age Of 18 by Konquest: 7:10am On May 24, 2021
iknowexperts:
International passports have evolved.

There was a time when one family could have one passport. All you need do was to to take a family photo and attach it to the passport booklet. And the whole family could use that one passport.

Now things are different.

Even babies who are 1 month old are required to have a separate passport.

This is in line with the ICAO recommendations which says "Children shall not be included in an adults passport; each child, including newborn infants, must be issued with his or her own MRCTD.

(MRCTD means Machine Readable Conventional Travel Document - it is essentially an electronic passport.
An electronic passport is one which the details of the passport holder is stored inside an electronic chip (just like your sim card) and attached to the passport booklet.
The holder,s details can obtained by scanning this electronic chip).

More than a few parents will want their child(ren) to have an international passport.

We will first of all start with the requirements before outlining the procedures. Note that this covers minors from 0 to 17 years of age.

However, requirements and procedure for adults are similar but for a few exceptions.
Detailed step by step procedure for adults is one of the major things I talk about in the "Fresh Passport Guide"

Requirements to get International Passport as a Minor

1. NIN slip for baby/minor (Required for Enhanced epassport)
2. Passport photograph of minor to be signed by parents at the back
3. Birth certificate of child (issued by NPC if he/she was born in Nigeria)
4. NIN slip of father and/or mother (or evidence of Nigerian citizenship)
5. Consent letter from both/either parents (can be handwritten)
7. 2 passport photographs
8. Acknowledgement slip
9. Payment slip
10. Online application form

If the child is adopted, Court Order and Letter of approval from State Ministry of Women and Child Development is required.

Requirement nos. 8, 9 and 10 are gotten from the NIS portal

How to proceed

Go to the immigration portal ==> https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport

• Select Standard E-pasport and begin application.
• Fill out all necessary information till the end.
NIN is compulsory if you want Enhanced epassport (Registration is free)
• Make payment online or at the bank.
You will be given an interview date after payment confirmation. However you can go before this date.
• Proceed to the pasport office you chose with the requirements
• Head straight to the Servicom desk or office. They will direct you to the offices to take your documents to.
• Its possible to carry out capturing same day. If not you will be given a slip with a date to return
• Go along with originals of your documents to be on the safe side because they might ask to sight it.

For standard passport, the price is lesser for minors.
Costs 10,750 ( application charges plus address verification charges) plus service charges.
See second screenshot below for breakdown. You might want to zoom in

The Enhanced epassport cost the same both for minors and adults

The above prices are for 32 years 5 years passport.

As per international convention, minors are not allowed to get more than 5 years passport because of their rapidly changing physical features.

Wife not cook: " If you cook for your wife Heaven will not fall!" Nigerian lawyer writes as he takes care of his first lady

Nigerian man with the username Firsts Baba Isa, a lawyer and Partner/Principal consultant at FBI Legal, has encouraged men to help their wives out at home; including in the kitchen because according to him "if you cook for your wife, heaven will not fall" Putting his money where his mouth is, he shared photos of him taking care of his sick 'first lady' on Facebook. He wrote:

"WIFE-NOT-COOK
Most times I keep mute on trending issues. I keep mute because I know I mustn't comment on every trending issue to be relevant. Those who know me well will already know where I stand on those issues anyways. Those issues don't breastfeed my bank account sef.
But some of my friends, fans and especially proteges won't have any of that. They will sneak inbox to push me to say something, to take a stance. At times I allow myself to be pushed, at times I dig in and pout my sealed lips.
When I got this push to comment on the #wifenotcook thing I didn't even answer them. I didn't answer them for another reason. My wife was sick that week and I was living the answer they wanted me to give on social media.
My beloved Firstlady was sick and I wonder how the wife-not-cook balderdash would have played out in my home if we were stupid enough to adopt any side of the wife-not-cook coin.
There were different kinds of food in the freezer that she had cooked. I will make the food, serve her and do the dishes. She will not even eat. I will rush to different fastfood to get this and get that. I served her breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed. I nursed my Baby back to health. Halleuia.
And I do this often, not just when she is sick. I'm not the best guy out there. I have my own faults. I just try my best.
My point is when you love and care for your partner, hashtags don't matter. Don't let people define your life with their whims.
For those who want to know. I and my wife have roles. And we help each other in executing these roles. For instance, I'm the primary provider but she also makes money and help me in providing for the home. She is the primary homemaker but I help her in the kitchen, doing the dishes and running the errands.
This doesn't stop me from being a lawyer and running my several concerns. And her role in the home doesn't stop her from running her NGO and other concerns.
Not cooking for your husband won't make you a successful woman automatically and cooking won't reduce you either. And as a man if you cook for your wife, heaven will not fall.
I encourage intending couples to talk about everything; but if you find yourselves talking about things like who will cook, who will eat, who will own the penis, who will carry the vagina around, then know that you have been infected with a virus know as warped sense of marriage.
#wifenotcook you embrace it. #wifenotmother you embrace it, #husbandnotfather, you embrace it... Get ready to embrace #akamunotbraininyourhead.

IamNumeroUno:
I have two with me, 15 and 11, all boys.

Easy way to handle them? Master the art of speaking really really few words. I mean, very minimal. Speak to them only if it is extremely necessary, else, don't speak to them at all. Yet, keep doing your part as the older sibling.
Buy them what can afford just leave it for them in their various corners or however, drop the gifts when they are out for school. Let them come to you ALWAYS, not the other way round.

NEVER send them on errands again, I can't over stress this part. Get up and do your work. If you're the "chef" of the house, do all your cooking alone, don't worry, it won't last long, but have it in mind that you may do this more than 5 months, depending on how well you do this. Cook, dish for them, don't bother ask them to go get their meals. Just eat yours. Never drag the remote with them. This part is tough, especially, if you have "Zeeworld" or the rest to follow. You can follow the episodes on YouTube if you can afford it. If they know how important the programme is to you, yet you don't bother them anymore, the magic would begin.

You say they like games. Don't lock your laptop just yet, it would cause them to resent you.
I would recommend that you learn how to play PS games. Don't let them teach, NEVER let know you are learning to play. This is your family, you must develop yourself in a way that helps you develop them too. Learn the game if you like, this just to add flavour to your dominance when the time comes.

On a given weekend, while there are playing, tell them that you would love to play the best among them. Say this with calm and mature demeanor. Handle the pad and flog the hell out of one. Play just one game and drop the pad. Walk out like a boss. Teenage boys hate to be dominated by older female siblings. Dominate them with your mind without breaking a sweat.

Do things that are obviously their chores in their presence. Never grumble nor utter a word. At first, they would laugh and make jest, but as time passes by, they would begin to grow consciences and begin to feel guilty. The day any of them tell you "I am sorry for not doing this sister or whatever they call you" then the battle is halfway won.

The key point here is that, let them ALWAYS come to you, never go to them, NEVER.

And pray for them too. You will be fine. Don't let these boys ruin your happiness.

so hard here. Look at how these kids are making we the adults to scamper about. Lol

IamPlato:
People are not scared of saying the truth, it is the consequences they fear – Danny Walker

To the ladies, it would be better if you stay away from having sex with every man that comes your way than getting to the future and start asking people not to judge you for your past.

If there is one thing I have discovered it is that a lady will never listen to an advice until she has done that foolish desire, then she comes back calling it a mistake and telling people not to judge her past. You completely and deliberately turned deaf ears to the truth because you want to satisfy your foolish and selfish desires then after satisfying yourself you come back claiming victim and expecting the world to just smile and embrace you and wanting a good and genuine man to marry you.

Ladies are naturally stubborn and that stubbornness affect their ability to hear word. If you are a lady expecting the world to just open their arms to you after all the evil then you should think again, life is not like that.
If a woman has done multiple abortions, medically she has higher chances of miscarriages in the future when she gets married to another innocent man because she already has the DNA of the other men in her blood, the DNA of her present partner will clash with the previous and can affect unborn children.

Sex is deeper than we think, every guy who has sex with you leaves his blood structure permanently inside of you.
Sex is a bond, very deep bond, it is best a man disvirgins his wife so they can bond better. I know what I am saying may sound like a cliché to some of you or sounds old school tradition but that old tradition is way better than the new tradition.

It would be better you stay away than have a regrettable future … for me if a woman has dropped her virginity then marriage will never come between us, she is already a red flag, I do not stand against the opinion of others to marry them but personally I will never.

The guys suffer little to nothing after sex, the woman bares it all because she happens to be the major receiver, ladies use your brain not your pussy, if you don’t use your brain your pussy will suffer for it. Women have more sexual control than men so its easier for a woman to control herself when with a man which is the more reason I am very strict with females.

I will continue this education to my friends and children to stay away from women who throw their self to the wind of lust and foolishness, don’t talk about rape victims because a lot of ladies today use rape to lie just to attract sympathy and deceive gullible men. The number of cheerful givers outnumbers rape victims…

Stay safe and stay wise!
I completely agree with almost
everything you stated here except
the bolded. The DNA part is incorrect. I have a science background right up to the uni

Crime › Re: 'Cut Soap For Me': You Want The Soap Or You Want To Sow? by Konquest: 5:22pm On May 23, 2021
Hashimyussufamao:
YOU WANT THE SOAP OR YOU WANT TO SOW?

By Ganiu Bamgbose, PhD

The incessant use of slangy expressions by young people has helped to linguistically code vice and vices among them. One of such expressions currently in use is: ‘cut soap for me’; a statement affirming the ritualistic tendencies among the youth. Given the fall of internet fraud and scams, many young people involved in the illicit act have had to resort to charms for perpetual favour from those being duped. The fear which compelled me to write this article is the unconscious effect of language use in the promotion and consolidation of any kind of habit; especially bad ones.

Language sticks and acts on people’s psyche in a manner beyond human imagination. I have heard highly religious and morally upright people express their surprising worry about how they found themselves singing musical contents which contradict their personal ideals. Such is the subtle effect of language on the mind. More dangerously, what you profess or confess, willingly or unwillingly, is what you are likely to become consciously or unconsciously.

Language helps to normalise or discourage habits beyond human consciousness. In reference to the focus of this article, the free will and the degree at which people utter the expression ‘cut soap for me’ and other slangy expressions embodying acts of vice and vices, oblivious of the psychological effect of such utterances is demanding of public enlightenment. If words meant nothing, the action of making a false spoken statement about others a crime as it is in almost all countries of the world would not have been a norm. It is, therefore, important to guide one’s mind jealously against what is said to it and what comes out of it through words. That it is in vogue does not mean you have to be a part of it; that it is trending does not mean you cannot be an exception to the trend.

In the age of constant supply of slang, especially by pop artistes and social media influencers, you can choose and determine your perception and reception of such damaging expressions. The effects of such expressions will outlive the expressions themselves in you. A heart that is not guided against slang that promote scam will gradually move from considering such illicit engagement as a way of meeting ends meet and begin to legitimise such venture through pity for those who indulge in it.

The final stage will most likely be to want to give it a consideration at the slightest life challenge that you experience. While you cannot do anything about the preponderance and popularity of such expressions, you are at liberty to determine how you conceptualise them and put them in perspective. Just like the title of this article, you can choose to ask yourself if you want the soap or you want to sow. Like my mentor, Professor Adeleke Fakoya, would say, life and living come in turns. If all your blessings come in a day, where will you keep them? Young people must believe that most times, shortcuts cut a person’s life short. The dignity in labour is what sustains fortune.

I wish to also call out to social influencers, especially those who are in the business of making comic skits, to direct their influence to the promotion of values. I watched one of the skits of Lawyer Kunle on the get-rich-quick syndrome which was anchored on the ‘cut soap for me’ slangy expression, and I felt the young talented man should have found a way of comically frowning on such act than leaving the skit hanging. Every social influencer in this age should be mindful of the fact that posterity will hold us accountable for our influence.

Romance › Re: Wahala: My Adventurous Trip To Yola And Back (pic) by Konquest:
Kingdemu:
YOU SAY WAHALA BE LIKE WETIN AGAIN??

Last week Saturday I got a call that I have to be in Yola on Monday morning.

I frantically got a flight ✈️to Abuja scheduled for Sunday and another one scheduled for Yola to Abuja on Monday morning, trip went well, did what I had to do and everything was perfect .
I scheduled my trip for yesterday ( Wednesday) back to Kano but due to my acute Phobia of flying and flying on a plane is always my last resort as a means of transportation( if you want to see me tense, anxious and edgy tell me I have to enter plane) and with the recent mishaps of my available options of flying back to Kano ( Max Air and Aero Contractors) I decided to go back to Kano by road.

The plan was to go to Gombe on Wednesday, spend the night in Gombe and see my former Boss and then leave for Kano as early as possible to take care of business having been out of office for the whole week.

Yesterday I went to Gombe and met my former oga at the top, I pleaded with him to get me a reliable car to take me to Kano, out of his generosity he offered his car and his driver and we scheduled our departure for 6am, by 6:30am we have departed for Kano and the drama began.

About 1 hour into our journey and just a few kilometres to Dukku the car broke down , I came down and saw Bush left right and centre and my mind was like for this Kidnapping era, I was like abeg oo.
I told the driver to wait by the car while I go to Dukku
to get a car that will tow us to Dukku ( the nearest town) .

I actually wanted to leave that place because I don't want stories that touch the heart.

I got to Dukku, got a car, agreed a price to go tow the car. We went back towed the car to Dukku asked the mechanic how much it will cost to fix the car and paid because I decided it was too risky to continue the journey with the car I decided to charter a car to take me to Kano .

I got the normal golf commercial car ,we haggled with the driver over price and finally settled for 13k to Kano. I gave him 10k and told him I will balance him.

I called my oga at the top and briefed him and instructed the driver to go back to Gombe when the car is fixed and we started our journey with my new found driver, a distance of about 300kms.

About 100km into our journey

Driver : Alhaji wallahi bacci nake ji ( Alhaji wallahi I am feeling sleepy )

Me: Me!! Bacci kake ji? huh huh huh( What? You are feeling sleepy huh huh huh)

Driver: wallahi Alhaji jiya karfe biyun dare na dawo daga Abuja kuma ban samu nayi bacci ba ( I came back from Abuja around 2am and I didn't sleep)

Me : Maza kayi parking ka bani motor ( oya Park and give me the car)

He parked and I collected and started to drive.

Of course it was a jalopy but I was like na dis jalopy we sef dey drive before before God begin shawa us with His blessings so no lele . I go drive amm

I myself have not slept getting only about 3 hours of sleep but I never sleep during a journey no matter how tired I am or stressed.

First observation
Any speed above 100km/hr the car will begin wobbling as if it will skid off the road grin

Second observation
Any sudden break the car wil beginl wobbling and begin to skid of the road grin

Third observation
The car is always trying to go left so I have to always stir the wheels right to keep the car at the center. grin

And my driver is thier snoring cry

15kms to Kano he wakes up
Driver: Alhaji ko in karbe ka cheesy ( Alhaji should I collect the car cheesy )

I was too angry to answer angry

Two minutes later
Driver: Alhaji bamu samu jumma'a ba ( Alhaji we didn't get Friday prayers)
I kept quiet again

Before you know it he is back to sleep .

Next time he opened his eyes we were at NNPC Mega Station ( Hotoro)

He stretched ,yawned and thanked God for journey mercy

PICS OF MY DRIVER BELOW
grin grin... An awesome and hilarious
road trip to "Kano Kanawan dabo!"
I love the pics of the sleeping driver and the serious, no-nonsense look on @kingdemu's face while driving.

Kingdemu, are you originally
from Kano or do you live in
Kano?

I'm looking forward to visiting Kano enroute Lagos by air and not by road soon because of spontaneous security issues on some of the highways.

Family › Re: Life With Two Stubborn Teenage Boys : My Experience. by Konquest:
purples25:
This post is just my way of letting off steam. It is truly not easy to take care of teenagers. Those who have teenagers they care for can probably relate, and those who do not can have an inkling of what its like.

I am a senior sister and second mother to my 14 year old youngest brother, and 15 year old male cousin. They are such characters that they each deserve their own section. Here goes:

Troublesome Teenager Number 1, My 15 year old Cousin: I love my cousin, but he is a serious case. When he came to live with my family, I resolved not to touch him or discipline him extensively. People staying with others tend to bring up accusations of abuse, anything you do to them is attributed to the fact that they are not your immediate family. As a result, I and my brothers handle him like an egg.

The boy took ample advantage of this. From being sullen and disciplined, he became very wild. Many times he would take offence to the slightest correction. He also goes out when he likes, picks whatever he wants from the kitchen and watches movies on my laptop from dawn till dusk. Answers me back as he likes from time to time. My brothers are his role models but if I correct him, that's where the problem lies. I think he feels I cannot and should not tame him. The funniest thing he ever did was starting to act up after he was told that the only reason I was not touching him was so as not to create issues between his mom and us. He became bolder and even tried to deepen his already deepening voice.

Whenever his mom comes around, he turns me to his enemy. He starts to perpetuate the notion that he is a victim of abuse. The last time his mom was around, he started shouting at me at his whim and when I got angry one day and slapped him, his mother finally made him a celebrated hero. She almost took him home by midnight that day, because the image of an abused boy that she wanted so badly had finally been portrayed to her.

Troublesome Teen Number 2, my 14 year old brother: I love my little brother as well. I tried to raise him like people raise kids abroad. Talking to him gently when he misbehaves, explaining to him, punishing by taking things away or just small reprimands....

That shii didn't work. He became the most troublesome little boy I knew. Whenever his friends are around, he wants to show off to them by talking over me, ignoring my demands. I started to discipline him but before long, he knew how to run to the neighbors house, taking the cane from me, and running outside where the discipline would become a spectacle. Sometimes he even yells at me too. He has tried to beat a few adults who tried to beat him. But they gave him a good beating grin

Since when he was small, 'he wants what he wants.' If I don't give him something, sometimes he would go and take it. Sometimes I would catch him. Time and time again, even with warnings, things still disappear at will.

When any kid around him is being bad, he wants to do two times what that kid is doing, and be loved for it. He feels that is love. From the time that my cousin came around, and we told him that we cannot touch our cousin, else it would be termed as abusing a family member from another mother.....he has taken it as proof of love that however we pardon our cousin, we must pardon him. He copies what our cousin does, does worse, and always defends himself with the fact that we leave our cousin, we dont spare him.

Now we have come to the last part, my experience with these two kids combined...

The Terrible Two: The two of them constantly answer me back, laugh and joke and even encourage me to come and punish them. They feel no amount of beating from me can break them, maybe because I am a woman. However, they have full fear and respect for the males around them. If i try to talk to them they act as if someone or something insignificant is talking. Few times though, they try to calm the wild spirits inside them, and behave.

Things still disappear at home, and even if we are the only ones at home, they both co operate and deny everything. The co operate to disrespect me. They start joking and laughing right after I'm done with my long warnings or advice talks. They tell me to come and punish them, that they will enjoy the punishment. They have turned my laptop to their permanent TV, day, night and midnight, i cant use it. If i hide it, they find it, turn it on, play whatever on it as early as 5 am till 12 or 1 on weekends. They put games there, got a game pad and play till thy kingdom come, all without my consent. They don't answer me, they do what they like when they like.

They are only tame at school. These are not kids that are meek. These are tall versions of Aki and Pawpaw that are already as tall as me at the moment.

This morning, my mom called me and told me that handling these teens is all about patience.

If you have had difficulties with teens, you can talk about your experience, to make this more interesting and educative. If you were a troublesome or troubled teen, you can also share.

Ciao! grin

Politics › Re: Do You Believe Charms Exist That Can Prevent Bullet From Piercing The Body? by Konquest: 11:31pm On May 21, 2021
InvestingExpert:
On 14th January 1997, a 504 Peugeot car overtook a Mercedez Benz, a man came out brandishing an Israeli Uzi and opened fire on Mercedez car. Some accounts claimed over forty rounds were fired, the windscreen was shattered, car interior riddled and torn by bullets. Satisfied that he had executed his mission as brutally, the gunman jumped into the Peugeot and the car zoomed away, leaving behind the riddled car and unfortunate occupants to he discovered. The shooter's car had not gone far while the doors of the Mercedez were opened, two men came out. They were unhurt!

Pa Abraham Adesanya, the late former leader of the Afenifere, later claimed he and his driver survived without a scratch. He claimed too that he survived by the grace of God, and denied using any charm. But it was hard to believe that a man survived the rain of bullets discharged by the dreaded sharpshooter of Gen. Sani Abacha killer square, Barnabas Jabila aka Sergent Rogers, without charm. Do charms really stop bullets from penetrating the body?

It is widely believed in Nigeria that charms do more than protecting the body from spiritual attack, they provide protection against physical weapons too, against cutlasses and bullets. Tales abound of criminals and even men of the armed forces fortifying their bodies against blades and bullets before going out for an operation. And as long as the person survives, it is evidence that the charm is working. Those who lost their lives during operation either by blade or gun, it is assumed their charm has failed them. For charms come with terms and conditions that had to be abided by; only those who failed to adhere to the terms are affected. But how powerful is the charm?

In northern Nigeria, amulets called laya or guru are used for fortification, local touts use it. In Yoruba land, the Okigbe and Ayeta charms are used for body fortification, for protection against blades and bullets respectively. Almost all Nigerian communities claimed the possessed the charm that protects the body against weapons, be it blade or bullet. Traditional warriors and local vigilantes or militants often complete their battle regalia with displays of protection charms. Some who don’t, claimed they have undergone ritual ceremonies that fortify the body against weapons, all kinds of weapons. It is rumored that some military men before going to the war front are given charms that will protect their bodies from bullets – some who left before protection ritual, family members visit local charm makers to fortify the individual by proxy.

An important question arises, if charms were very effective, how then did the Europeans defeated Nigerian communities? African societies in the past practice pure traditional religion without syncretism, warriors and hunters adhered to terms and conditions that guarantee protecting the body from weapons, yet they were fallen by bullets! Even traditional rulers, who embody the perfection of bodily protection could not dare European guns. It was said that they could disappear when faced with danger, yet some were captured and exiled, or killed: Nana of Itsekiri, Jaja of Opobo, Oba Ovonramwem of Benin were captured and exiled; Caliph Atahiru I of Sokoto died in Battle. The fighting forces in all communities in Nigeria used charms for fortification in terms of war, yet the European Maxim gun fell them in their hundreds, and captured and colonized Nigeria entirely.

Even shrines were invaded, ransacked, looted, and destroyed.

But yet, most Nigerians still believe charms protect people from bullets – the same charms that couldn’t protect their ancestors. But then, how can one explain Pa Abraham Adesanya surviving over 40 bullets sprayed on his car without a scratch on his body or of his driver's? The man denied using protection charm, but Nigerians disagree. They believe all Nigerian leaders, and not only fighting men and criminals but also use charms for protection. And that on its own is proof that charms are potent enough to protect the body from bullets.

The human body is made of flesh and it is not hard enough to prevent a bullet from piercing it, but Nigerians believe charms are like invincible bulletproof against a bullet, and nothing can change that conviction. Criminals still go around with charms on their bodies or have been fortified by means of rituals. Even some men of the armed forces allegedly use charms to protect themselves from criminals or enemies from the front. Some even armed forces rigged their weapons with charms against enemies or criminals who have fortified their bodies.

Maybe charms can stop a bullet from penetrating the human body, maybe charms cannot. Science or ballistics insist it is impossible for bullet not to pierce the human body, sometimes with a fatal consequence, without the use of physical bulletproof. Yet again, it cannot be disproved that the spiritual realm is real and that miracles happen – as it has happened to Pa Adesanya, either through the protection of Allah, Jesus, or Charm. However it happens, the best protection against bullet remains to stay away from where gunfights are imminent or use bulletproof. There are some guns and bullets that just don’t respect prayers or charms.

Have you ever heard or witness an incident where someone survived gunshot with the help of a charm, share your experience to enlighten others.

Romance › Re: 15 Tips On How To Stop Thinking About Someone Who Breaks Your Heart by Konquest: 11:02pm On May 21, 2021
Writercruze:
It can be very demoralizing when someone you love breaks up with you. There’s no way you will forget such a person in a hurry, especially if the break up wasn’t your fault. In this article, you will learn how to stop thinking about someone who breaks your heart.

Let me tell you the truth…

It’s difficult to stop thinking about someone you shared some cool romantic moments with. Also, it breaks the heart when you try to force yourself to forget someone. Trying to forget about someone is a cycle that’s often difficult to break.

Sometimes the more you try to stop thinking about the person who betrays your love, the more you think about them. Yeah, it’s that frustrating.

Many people ended up in depression just because they can’t stop thinking about their Ex. Some even end up committing suicide, thinking their life is worthless without the same person who breaks their hearts.

The good thing is, you can forget about anybody if you make up your mind to do it. That’s why we are here to guide you on how to stop thinking about someone you want to forget.

In the next, I’m going to share with you some useful tips that will help you forget about someone quickly.

If you are currently thinking about someone, I know how demoralizing and frustrating it can be. I have been there before, and it almost ruined me. And I don’t want it to destroy you.

Always remember that anybody who betrays your trust and love doesn’t deserve you. Do you know why? It’s because you are the best of your kind.

How to Stop Thinking About Someone Who Breaks Your Heart

Before I start sharing the tips, let me tell you a terrible heartbreak story about my friend. Her name is Rita. She had a boyfriend whom she loved so much. Unfortunately, the boy was only using her because he had someone he wanted to marry.

They dated for over three years. Rita was already living in the fantasy that Jordan (her boyfriend) is her future husband. She always had a mental image of how their marriage life will be like. In fact, she has planned her life around Jordan as she believed he is Mr. Perfect.

Sometimes, Rita and Jordan would sit together, brainstorming on possible names for their children. Yes, they were that crazy about each. Sadly, all the love Jordan professed for Rita was fake. He never truly loved her, and all the promises were false.

Heartbreakingly, Jordan had a serious girlfriend somewhere, and Rita was just a side chick. But Rita didn’t know on time. It was a few days to Jordan’s wedding that she knew.

She was devastated and broken and became a shadow of herself. She even attempted suicide on several occasions. Luckily, people were always there to save the situation.

However, she survived after a while and moved on. She’s happily married now with kids. If Rita can stop thinking about Jordan and move on, why can’t you? Without much ado, here are the tips on how to stop thinking about someone.

#1. Decide To Forget About The Person

Our first tip on how to stop thinking about someone is to forget about that person. It’s more complicated than it sounds. But if you make up your mind, you can achieve it.

How do you forget about the person? Assume he or she never exist in your life. Tell yourself the truth that it’s over between you guys, and you want to move on with your life.

It’s natural for some part of you to still long for that person. So, remind yourself that the person is in the past, it’s time to create a future without them.

#2. Officially Notify The Person That It’s Over

This is an area most people make mistakes. If you want to stop thinking about someone, start by ending things with them.

Whatever relationship you have with such a person should be ended. Do you know why? If you fail to end things officially, they will always come back and beg. Don’t forget that your ex-lover whom you dated for a while know your weak point.

But if you end things up with them, you can feel bad for a while. After this, you redirect your energy into something more creative. Inside of burying yourself in thoughts, you can look for something else to preoccupy your mind.

#3. Don’t Try To Forget Them At Once

As I mentioned earlier, forgetting someone doesn’t happen overnight. It takes a process. And if you try to ignore the person overnight, it could be counterproductive.

It’s still okay to miss the person. If possible, think about the good old days you had with them. But this shouldn’t last for more than a few days. Otherwise, depression may be inevitable.

After the first few days of missing him or her, move on with your life. Always remember that before you met that person, you were doing excellently. And you and going to do even more after you leave.

Again, don’t forget that they are countless people out there who are better than the person who breaks your heart. With these thoughts, you can move on quickly.

#4. Divert Your Thought to Something or Someone Else

I think this is one of the best tips on how to stop thinking about someone, instead of wasting your time thinking about someone who betrayed your love. You could actually divert such thoughts to someone else. It could be a childhood friend or someone who has been there for you.

What I usually do is to think of the beautiful people around who are always there for me. It could be my mom, siblings, friends, or colleagues. Once you divert your thoughts to these people, you can forget about the ungrateful fellow who breaks your heart quickly.

#5. Avoid Having Contact With Them By All Means

The easiest way to forget about someone is when you stop contacting them. If you are trying to erase someone from your memory, resist every urge to contact that person.

It doesn’t matter if it’s through phone calls, text messages, or meeting them one on one. If you can do this, you will forget that person faster than you can imagine. But if you keep bumping into them, the possibility of forgetting about that person is slim.

#6. Don’t Blame Yourself For What Happen

It’s normal for you to feel guilty about what happened. I know you think that if you were more diplomatic, the person wouldn’t have left. But the truth is, whoever will go will always leave.

It doesn’t matter how nice you are to them; they will always cheat or betray your truth in the slightest opportunity. So, instead of demoralizing your spirit with guilt, why don’t you cheer up. Or don’t you know that it takes two to tangle? If your partner can’t fight for the relationship, why blaming yourself.

If you keep blaming yourself, you will end up getting depressed. And you know what that means? You will have low self-esteem.

Again, if you are already blaming yourself too much about the entire breakup, engage in things that will make you happy. You can decide to see an exciting movie or stream funny videos online.

#7. Dwell More On Their Negative Traits

Remember the last time you saw caught pants down cheating on you? What about the lies he told you about his job? Or have you forgotten that he’s lazy and only good at beating people?

Well, a great tip on how to stop thinking about someone is to dwell more on such a person’s negative traits. Was he a chronic womanizer? Pathetic liar, or an aggressive young man?

If you can refocus your thoughts along with the person’s negative trait, you will dislike everything about him. The thoughts of such a person will irritate you.

Remember, anybody who breaks your heart will always want to come back for amends. He or she will ask for a second chance. And time like this, you may be confused and want to fall in love with them again. Just ruminate on their flaws, and you will be able to forget them once and for all.

#8. If Possible Stay Offline For A While

I mentioned earlier that you should avoid any form of contact with the person. Online platforms are not exempted. Try to block or unfollow them across different social media platforms. Otherwise, seeing their activities online will make the whole scenario worst.

Don’t forget that keeping the distance is vital when trying to forget someone.

#9. Change Environment For A While If Possible

Getting out of town is another useful tip on how to stop thinking about someone. When you change the environment, you can take a break from everything, including the person you are trying to forget.

If you are still in the same location, there is the possibility of you seeing things that always remind you of such a person. But a different environment will give you a better perspective. You could make new friends and preoccupy your mind with other essential issues.

#10. Keep Yourself Busy

In the words of George Carlin, “never allow the brain Idle for an Idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” Indeed, you must have heard of those words somewhere.

Staying idle is a big mistake when you are trying to stop thinking about someone. No matter how much you try, in as far you are idle, your thoughts will always find their way to the person you are trying to forget.

But if you are busy, the chances of you thinking about that person is very slim. For this reason, try to keep yourself busy. Playing games and reading exciting novels could help.

#11. Spend More Time With Your Friends

Spending time with your friend helps a lot when your heart bleeds from heartbreak. And if your friends aren’t as boring as mine, you could stop thinking about the person who betrays your love quickly.

I’m sure you have some of those crazy friends on your list. I mean those people who will make you smile even if you are in the worst state of mind. Well, it’s time to activate them because they will be instrumental in helping you forget someone easily.

#12. Avoid Romantic Movies If You Can

Watching movies like The Notebook, Titanic, Romeo, and Juliet, etc. is a bad idea when you are trying to forget someone. These movies will activate their thoughts on your mind. You will unconsciously be thinking about the right time you have spent with them. And we both know it is not a good omen.

#13. Tell Yourself That They Have Moved On

Another good tip on how to stop thinking about someone is to tell yourself that they have moved on. Remind yourself that it’s a reality, the person is never coming back. It’s time to move on and do something good with yourself. If these thoughts keep coming to your mind, you are on the verge of forgetting that person.

#14. Never Talk About The Person While With Your Friends

The more you talk about someone you are trying to forget, the more you think about them. Even if your friends try to come up with the conversation, always avoid it. You may find it difficult to resist the urge of not talking about the person who breaks your heart, but avoiding the topic is a better option.

#15. Pretend to be Having Fun, Even though you are not

I’m sure you don’t want to give them the impression that you can’t live without them. Just pretend to be having fun with your friends and family. Go to beautiful places and force happiness out of you. Over time, you will eventually forget about everything and move on.

Like I mentioned earlier, forgetting someone doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time. But if you follow our tips here, you will learn how to stop thinking about someone who breaks your heart.

Nobody is worth killing yourself over. When someone leaves you, another one will always come. That’s the beauty of relationships. And before you do anything drastic because someone breaks your heart. Always remember that nothing truly lasts forever. Even the best love stories we have heard never lasted forever.

So, snap out of that mood and cheer up. Do you know why? It’s because naijalovetips genuinely care.

Don’t forget to share with your friends on social media; it may help someone going through heartbreak.

3 JUST WAIT TILL OUR WEDDING NIGHT:

Despite the fact that this statement is biblical, some of us guys still don’t even want to mistakenly hear it from our babe. Wedding what? Who will wait till then? Guys of these days want s*x on their first date, if possible. But to be sincere tho, you body is the temple of the lord, it’s better you apply wisdom. Wait till wedding night guys?

4. AM ON MY PERIOD/MENSTRUATION:

Especially when you’re extremely Hot, sweating and she said this statement, you can almost abuse her.
This happens a lot, guys will begin to beg, they don’t even care about her period. Even though some ladies just love using it to punish guys.

5 YOU ARE NOT GOOD IN BED/YOU DON'T LAST LONG , WTF?

This is the worst ever, you will be totally ashamed, you will feel terrible. This statement is a punch on the jaw for guys. The girl must be silly, honestly, guys just don’t like it. How can you say that to a your man? This has made so many guys use sexual booster/drugs to punish the girl. After you Pour, sweating, breathing heavily and the next thing she said is “Baby, you’re not good in bed” Damn!!!
