Gossipninja:^^^^^ ^^^^^ This is exactly how the Nigerian Bellview Airline crashed nose down in Ogun State a few years ago as a result of wind shear after taking off from MMA2... based on the final report from AIB. Bodies of the Bellview passengers were literally torn apart on impact at ground-zero. This wont stop me from flying though... as a frequent flyer, I know that plane travel is still the fastest and safest. All the best to everyone! |
frowland:^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ Just a quick one... Sen. Yayi is a full-blooded Awori, but from Ogun State. Lagos Awori and Ogun Awori-Yorubas see themselves as one... and Sen. Yayi is still accepted in Lagos as an Awori son. ![]() Musiliu Obanikoro's father is from Oyo State. It is his mother that is from the aristocratic Obanikoro lineage of Lagos State. Nobody from his mother's lineage bears the surname of Obanikoro! Infact some members of Musiliu Obanikoro's mother's family placed a paid advert in PM News in 2007 where they condemned Musiliu's use of Obanikoro as his surname when he is NOT paternally from Lagos but from Oyo State. I was stunned by that paid advert in 2007. This is not to say that Musiliu is not from an aristocratic lineage... but it is from his maternal side! Musiliu Obanikoro just unilaterally decided to use the name Obanikoro as his surname. Obanikoro is ONLY used as an aristocratic title NOT as a surname. All the best! |
seunmsg:^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^ ... I love the camaraderie on display by the SW political top guns. Most of these guys are actually close buddies in business and social clubs and they know how to settle themselves. Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State governor-elect is actually a very amiable guy despite being a billionaire oil magnate. He is just as amiable and refined as Kwara governor-elect and oil magnate Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq [the CEO, First Fuels Limited, and son of Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunso Abdulrazaq, the first Northern Nigeria lawyer in 1956]. Congrats to all of them. Cc OAM4J, Mynd44.[/quote]^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ What a blow!... 2 brillliant Nigerians died in the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 plane crash on the way to Kenya with 157 souls on board... six minutes after taking off. I first heard of this about 3 hours ago. Prof. Pius Adesanmi and Ambassador Abiodun Bashua, a Nigerian diplomat who was travelling on a UN passport lost their lives. DeWorlex45:^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ If you read the original article by the lawyer, Lawrence C. Nnoli properly, you will REALISE that he wrote in SUPPORT of Asiwaju Bola Adekunle Tinubu. He did NOT CASTIGATE Tinubu like some of you folks were or are trying to do, by making defamatory comments against one of the greatest political, corporate and business icons in Nigeria! ![]() Please read it again... and infact the article offers a very good FINANCIAL ADVICE for FREE for a lot of people who are actually IGNORANT of the MONEY LAUNDERING LAWS of Nigeria. The excerpts from the original article right below shows that Lawrence Nnoli DID NOT criticize or castigate Asiwaju Bola Adekunle Tinubu. Case closed! Having said these, so what actually are the squabbles about Tinubu’s billions in the Bullion vans? First of all, for the fact that the billions arrived through bullion vans presupposes that the cash came from the banks. So nothing is wrong with him receiving billions in cash through the banks. However where the problems lies is when he decides to give out cash in excess of five million naira to anybody without making the payment through a financial institution. Section 1 of the MONEY LAUNDERING (PROHIBITION) ACT, 2011 forbids him from doing so and in fact makes it a crime punishable by a forfeiture of an amount not less than 25% of the excess cash given. Secondly, if the APC party leader decides to spend all that his money in the bullion vans in a way and manner not antagonistic to the law, he is free to do so. Written by Lawrence C. Nnoli, a lawyer based in Lagos, Nigeria http://www.excellawchambers.com/tinubus-bullion-vans-in-the-eyes-of-the-law/ |

CotenantNIG:^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^ The Ikeja along axis to the MMA2 and the MMIA is a real traffic jam spot. Get ready to miss your air flights if you do not leave your house early or if you don't get a hotel to stay near the airport. Despite the fact that my younger brother was at a major hotel in Ikeja near the international airport, he was caught up in a major traffic jam on his way back to his Manchester, UK base to be with his wife and kids on February 14. Thank goodness he didn't miss his KLM flight. Mobolaji Bank Anthony axis/Maryland axis right to Maryland Mall is another area I would not want to be visit again if I have an urgent appointment. Time is money. ![]() What Lagos and Port Harcourt need... most especially Lagos are more comfortable hovercrafts/ferries to move a large number of people since over 60 percent of Lagos State is water and it has many islands... and the business will be very profitable for any major investor. Most Lagos residents move from the mainland to the island in the mornings and back in the evenings in their millions! The railway line is very expensive to build but it can also complement water transportation. People need to start keeping their cute cars at home instead of showing off in them. ![]() The SR.N4 was refitted and expanded twice, growing to a capacity of 60 cars and 418 passengers: as many as a 747 airliner. The main ferry route was between Dover and Boulogne, a 22-mile trip that took on average 35 minutes. However, when unloaded, the SR.N4 could go even faster, and the unofficial record for a cross-channel crossing was a blistering 15 minutes and 23 seconds. However, as the speed limit on the English Channel is 70mph, this was never officially acknowledged. cardoctor:^^^^ ^^^^ "Is It Your Headache?" - Tinubu Reacts To Bullion Van In His House (Photos, Video) https://www.nairaland.com/5042551/it-headache-tinubu-reacts-bullion ![]() The movement was done in broad day light so how is that anybody's business really? If there was anything illegal, the bullion vans would have moved in the night without anybody seeing them. Was there even money in those bullion vans? Bullion vans are NOT used to move only money. Other precious valuables are moved with bullion vans! People should stop this ridiculous and defamatory speculations about whether it is money that is in there or not! It makes these people attacking him to appear like they are envious of the man's legitimate wealth. The man was already a multi-billionaire even before he became the governor of Lagos State in 1999. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu is a very brilliant Chartered Accountant who worked with Arthur Andersen in Chicago, USA and Mobil Oil Nigeria as a Finance expert! These folks should go and make there own money too... they can even be richer than Tinubu if they are focused and learn some business sagacity from him and other business icons around the world. ![]() Background Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu,(Jagaban of Borgu) was born on 29 March 1952 in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. He attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children's Home School in Ibadan, South West of Nigeria. Tinubu then went to the United States in 1975, where he studied first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.[2] Tinubu worked for the American companies Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation.[3] After returning to Nigeria in 1983, Bola Tinubu joined Mobil Oil Nigeria, and later became an executive of the company.[4] Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bola_Tinubu

Itoosabi:^^^^^ ^^^^^ I cannot cope with any of the 2 situations. None of the above! ![]() There is hope for you or anyone that has these issues. 1] Anyone who has mouth odour should visit a dentist regularly and do what is called scaling and polishing. You can request to do Ultra-sonic scaling and polishing from the dentist in your country of residence. It is the presence of plaque and tartar that that causes the gums to bleed and allows bacteria to fester. Holes in the teeth also harbour food debris so they need to be checked and filled up by the dentist to prevent food debris from decaying in the holes. Then engage in flossing after every meal to remove food debris such as meat from in-between your teeth. Get the flossing strings to pull out food debris after every meal. You can also immediately use your regular sowing thread to pull out any food debris like meat which if not pulled out will beging to putrefy or decay in the mouth. You will be glad you did! 2] For the body odour, just shave all your private body hairs - such as the arm pits, pubic hair and use colognes regularly or use anti-perspirants after having a good bath with your anti-septic soap. All the best! |
bidex:^^^^ ^^^^ @bidex Thanks for this clarification. We need massive laws to curb and punish these ridiculous bloggers... they are distorting history and some people have started insulting Ekiti girls on this thread based on the FAKE STORY! Nairaland Mods have to be careful about pushing these kinds of misleading stories to the front page. I found the dubious recycled post on the front page of NL. Fake stories are making it to the front page sometimes... which is a sign of poor quality control by the mods. A simple search on Google Images would reveal if a picture has been used before online ====> https://images.google.com/ When Femi Fani-Kayode and some other bloggers and propagandists posted a fake picture of supposed Dapchi girls who came back after being freed by BH in Yobe with Ghana-must-go bags looking clean and wearing hijabs, I used this method to detect that the pictures of the GMG bags and so-called Dapchi was fake! Abagworo:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is very correct! Ibos are not monolithic in origin but are an amalgam of different peoples who were lumped together by the the colonialists and made to speak the central Ibo language. The aborigenes of Onitsha were originally Igalas. It was the Igala [according to the current Obi of Onitsha during the last 2018 ofala festival video that I saw] who took the Edo migrants across the River anaiger to settle in Onitsha. Then migrants from Nri also joined them. The Obi of Onitsha then said in that NTA documentary that he has Edo or Bini, Igala, and Ibo ancestry in him based on the ancestry of Onitsha people. I also read an interview where the first son of former old Anambra State governor C.C. Onoh said his ancestor migrated from Benin and settled at Enugu Ngwo. This was published in a copy of Sunday Punch about 4 years ago. In the eastern flank, I even read from interviews that some Ibibios settled around the Aba or Ngwa axis before 1900. Some Ibibios also exist in Arochukwu and Ohafia axis and that is why those people dress like the Ibibio and even eat the same type of food with them as well as bear Ibibio surnames. The Nsibidi writing is of the Efik, Ibibio, Ejegbam axis as well.

Sanromeo:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is good... but when is the bitumen project going to start so that Ondo State can have more IGR? This is in addition to the Olokola Seaport project! One the sons of Gov. Akeredolu studied a course related to mining or solid minerals in Canada and said he was hoping to assist his father and Ondo State if his father wins the governorship elections in the area of bitumen exploration and refining. I read that in a newspaper interview before his father became the governor of your state. Ondo State also produces 3 times more revenue from crude oil than Imo and Abia States combined... so Ondo State should not be an underperformer in terms of economic development. Last but not least... Akeredolu should never have been involved in anti party activities. It is obvious that he is not a savvy politician. You do not go against the wishes of your party like that ridiculous Ibikunle Amosun is openly doing!

Abagworo:^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^ Very true... Nri people were hugely influenced by Igala kingship system and bloodlines. I read an article in a 2016 Saturday Punch online where the Eze Nri said Afa oracle was consulted before he was installed on his return from the United States. I noticed a similarity between Ifa oracle of the Yoruba and Afa oracle that the Eze Nri talked about. This is NOT surprising due to the Igala influence on Nri. The Igala language is said to be about 65 percent of Yoruba origin. I got this from an Igala thread on Nairaland. ===> https://punchng.com/buried-three-days-crowned-king-eze-onyensoh/ The current Attah of Igala also said in an edition of Saturday Punch that Ifa oracle and Ifa priests are consulted before an Attah of Igala is crowned. ===> https://punchng.com/im-first-attah-in-igala-history-with-one-wife-ameh-oboni/ This is a very interesting history which shows that most peoples especially in the south of Nigeria are not entirely monolithic in origin. The answer from the Attah of Igala on the the Yoruba/Jukun[Wukari]/Edo/Ibo mix to form IGALA is here: https://punchng.com/im-first-attah-in-igala-history-with-one-wife-ameh-oboni/ Would you mind telling us the origin of the Igala people? "Talking about the origin of the Igala people, a sizeable group migrated from Wukari in Taraba State from where they came to Benue along the River Benue and continued very close to the confluence at a place called Amagede by River Benue and slightly down from Amagede downwards to Idah and they settled there. And there, they met a sizeable population of the Yorubas and the Benins and to some extent, some Igbo. So the migrant population from Wukari merged with them and produced a language called Igala as a people." I know that during the Igala settlement/conquest of the present northern Ibolands in Enugu and Anambra States, they inflenced Nsukka by introducing the red chieftaincy cap that you see in Iboland today. It came via Igalaland. ===> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igala_Kingdom ===> https://tukool.com/ethnic-groups-in-enugu-state/ It is not surprising NOW that many of the WORDS you find in Ibo that sound Yoruba/Yoruboid came in via the Igala influence in the South East... such as: Ewure in Yoruba or Ewu in Ibo, Akuko Yoruba or Okuko in Ibo, Okuta in Yoruba or Okwute in Ibo, Egungun in Yoruba or Egwugwu in Ibo... and more! The Oworos [indigenous Yorubas of Lokoja who also wear red chieftaincy caps like some other Yorubas in Kogi and Kwara State] are also not far off in geography between the Igala and Ibo the sector. 500 years of Igalas in Enugu By Tony Adibe, Enugu | Published Date Jan 29, 2017 2:00 AM https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/500-years-of-igalas-in-enugu.html https://www.nairaland.com/4354079/500-years-igala-enugu SOURCES: https://punchng.com/buried-three-days-crowned-king-eze-onyensoh/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/no-war-igbo-eze-nri-warns/ https://punchng.com/im-first-attah-in-igala-history-with-one-wife-ameh-oboni/ https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/500-years-of-igalas-in-enugu.html https://www.nairaland.com/4354079/500-years-igala-enugu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igala_Kingdom https://tukool.com/ethnic-groups-in-enugu-state/
