To whom it may concern,
I am not going to go back pages to read the Genesis to Revelation of this story but I will just give my small advise and experience.... I will not advise you to go out of status because your school reports such to SEVIS and that means you're to leave the country for that period... If you don't, that goes into your record.... To fall back into status, SEVIS has to give you the go ahead and from a friend who was out of status for less than a month.... That period is scary as hell because any small issue, you can be deported...
About finding a job after school, from my experience... I got one, lots of friends got... So there is hope as long as there is God... So don't say now your in the USA, you forget God.... Hold on to Him tight and put your fate in God not with one girl you don't know.... Especially NY babes, I have heard their gist and they can be frustrating when they know it's about the paper....
I always say if you can't afford this journey, do not embark on it.... But it's your cross to bear... Sha if you dey marry, make I know... I have not still attended a wedding in this country, still looking for my first...
And about the so called uncle, if that's the advise he gives his nephew then forget about him...
By the way, being a resident doesn't guarantee getting a job... There is a reason lots of Nigerians end up with menial jobs because once that paper is there, the zeal to go to school leaves and you just want to start making money even though small... So accomplish your number one that you came to achieve in this country then think about papers |

Sports › Re: The Truth About The Early 1900s Nigeria Vs India Match (1 - 99)!!! (photo) by kpolli(m): 12:06am On Jan 15, 2015 |
smartfellow2080: Virtually everybody born before the invention of the internet must have heard the tale of a nonexistent football match between Nigeria and India that obviously took place in a parallel universe and somehow we got to hear the gory stories of that match.
Though there are many variations of the story, every prevaricator seems to agree on a couple of facts about this fictional football match. Each storyteller agrees that;
1. This match ended with India scoring 99 goals and Nigeria scoring just one goal.
2. Nigerians where unable to kick the ball because the football kept turning to a lion (or something scary) to prevent them from playing the soccer ball.
3. The Indians later agreed that if Nigeria could score a goal, they would concede defeat
4. Samuel Okwaraji scored the winning goal and lost his life in the process.
5. FIFA banned India from soccer because they used black magic in that very game
With the help of common sense (not that it was absent back then), quick access to information and the internet, every right thinking Nigerian has come to realise that such a story should be filled under “Blatant Lies”.
Why Did This Story Thrive For So Long?
Most people like to pass off this story as true with the fact that no one has ever seen India in an International Football Match. Since no one actually saw India participate in most international soccer games, this gave a little credence to the story.
Another reason this lie could thrive for long was the fact that credible information was not readily available at our finger tips. It not like every Emeka, Audu and Ojo could visit Google in a matter of minutes and tell our ominous fabricators that they should stop spreading toxic lies.
And to be honest we have a tingling feeling that this lie was concocted by an elder of a community because, let’s be honest who questions the words of the elders in Nigeria. Remember, what an adult sees sitting down a child will never see even if he consults Google, Siri or Cortana.
The Element of Truth In This Story
On the 12th of August 1989, Nigeria lost Sam Okwaraji.
Sam Okwaraji was the player rumored to have lost his life in that game when in truth he died during a FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Angola in the 77th minute.
He collapsed and died of cognitive heart failure. May his soul rest in Perfect Peace. AMEN
So that is the only truthful thing about that story, the fact that a Nigerian player died during a football match. That’s it. The match was not against India, we did not lose the match and as you must have guessed, and there were no lions either.
Nairlanders, what do you think? The version you heard was a lie, no one died in that match... This legendary match is very true, only two of us watched it... I and the person who formed this story |

Even in real life boobs and buttocks is not part of my sexual life. I sometimes jealous guys who find this part fascinating. There are other weird non sexual part i find very attractive but not boobs and buttocks (no matter how big it is). I often shake my head in pity when some ladies try to seduce me with this part. As my thing can never pick signal to it. Are there guys like me here? Am i normal? I used to be like you and was only attracted to the heart of women but then I realized they didn't have any... Real ole..... niyimeg: please how much balance does the bank statement i want to use to apply for the visa has to show and can a family friend be my sponsor with no common surname? Enough to sustain you for a year... So whatever is written on your I-20, convert it to Naira and have it in the bank (but I also advice an extra 50% of that so the VO doesn't think they are not spending their life savings on your first year) |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by kpolli(m): 12:27am On Dec 18, 2014 |
MsNas: Congrats bro. Welcome to the Land of the free. As per what I said, my roomate, who is a GA with the International Students Office was the one that gave the the gist. She even told me that the schools knows who will get visas and who will never get it and those who just needs to convince the VO to give them the visa.
Why I'm saying this is so prospective applicants can put in the utmost best into their applications. She gave me example of a Nigerian guy who's SOP has a ton of grammatical errors!! He even swapped using he for female and she for male Such was the error. Yet this person claimed he was coming in for graduate studies and had nailed a 97 in TOEFL. How manage? She said the International Students Coordinator just pointed out the errors in the SOP before uploading into the SEVIS website and told her categorically that "This guy can never get a visa"
Your visa decision starts from the moment you put in the application for admission. Don't do standardized tests for embassy's sake. The VO will know you never used the test in securing the admission, cos it won't be among the documents the school uploaded unto the SEVIS website. Be consistent, any information you use in securing the admission should barely change from the one used for visa interview. I don't know it all. Just chipping in my bit.
Once again, Congrats JabinodelaRatta. You deserved it, so do shakara today I had a feeling about this when I was in school, the way ISO liked reporting to SEVIS was too much |

He is willing to get married to his girlfriend but when he approach the family of the girl, they gave him a bill for the traditional wedding worth N800k. He is thinking of going for a loan just to marry the lady he desire.
The issue now is, he can't afford that amount which makes him not ready for marriage. Do you think he should go for the loan or wait till God touches the heart of the government to increase the wages before he get married or till he is able to save to such worth of money?
I also notice its a paramount problem must of us men are passing through silently "Willing to marry but not ready".
What advice do we have for each other as men and for this my friend.
Cheers. Never enter debt in the name of marriage..... Do you want your first task in the marriage to be to pay off the debt? |

Education › Re: 16 Errors That Are Still Taught In Nigerian Schools Today by kpolli(m): 4:26pm On Dec 06, 2014 |
Noneroone: It may sound a little bit misleading, because this problem is not only limited to Nigerian schools. It’s a worldwide phenomenon occasioned by teachers, lecturers and instructors who make no effort to update themselves and add to what they already know. These lies – at least some of them – were facts at some point in time, but things have since moved on. Truths become lies as new discoveries are being made. Here are 16 lies that are still dished out the world over even as you read this:
There are six classes of food: I was taught – and I know most of you were taught – that there are 6 classes of food, namely, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, fats and oil, minerals and water. It is no longer the case. Officially, there are now SEVEN classes of food: proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins (or vegetables), fibers, fats and oil, minerals and water. Fiber is derived from plants and it was initially left out by nutritionists because it seemingly does not add any nutrient to the body. What fiber does that it alters the way our gastrointestinal tract absorbs food. Fiber itself is indigestible; it is broken down in the large intestine not by the body’s digestive system, but by the trillions of bacteria that live there.
There are nine planets in the solar system : Astronomers are regularly discovering new planets all over the universe. However, the number of planets in our own solar system has been reduced from nine to eight. This is due to the declassification of Pluto as a planet. Pluto was officially downgraded by astronomers at the 26th General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union which was held in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2006. It is now a dwarf planet. Astronomers found out that it is merely a huge ball of ice and rock orbiting the Sun in an area known as the Kuiper Belt. The Kuiper Belt is located beyond the planet Neptune (which is now the farthest planet in the solar system) and it contains over 70,000 icy objects similar to Pluto. Pluto happens to be one of the biggest of these icy objects, but it’s not the biggest. The biggest is Eris. Eris, a dwarf planet, is the largest object in the Kuiper Belt. It’s about 25% more massive than Pluto.
There are four oceans: That was until the year 2000 when the International Hydrographic Organization concluded that a distinct body of sea that completely surrounds the continent Antarctica will be the Earth’s fifth ocean. The exact geographic coordinates of the salty water are yet to be agreed upon, but most sources will tell you that it lies to the south of Australia, New Zealand and the tip of the South American continent.
There are three states of matter: There are several states of matter, in fact. According to physicists, in addition to solid, liquid and gaseous, plasma can be observed in everyday life. Actually, scientists claim that plasma is the most abundant form of matter in the universe, because most of the stars, including our own Sun, are in a plasma state. Other states of matter include the neutron-degenerate matter, Bose- Einstein condensates, liquid crystals, superfluids, quark-gluon plasmas, quantum hall state, supersolid, string-net liquid, superglass and dark matter. But these forms of matter are very rare and some of them have not been observed, but are believed to exist.
Humans have only five senses: It turns out that sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste are not the only sensory responses human beings exhibit. Human sensory receptors can also respond to pain (nociception), changes in temperature (thermoception), changes in balance (equilibrioception), position (proprioception), magnetic direction (magnetoception) and the passage of time (chronoception).
Humans evolved from apes: This is a great lie and misconception that has been here with us since the day Charles Darwin published his controversial “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” According to this well- known biological framework, human beings and the modern-day apes evolved from a single, now-extinct ancestor. As time passed by, these ancestors of ours began to evolve differently based on climatic, nutritional, geographical and social changes.
Mount Everest is the highest place on earth : Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world quite alright, but it’s not the part of the world that is closest to outer space. Here how it works: the Earth does not have a perfectly round structure like the world globes you’ll find in most schools. Geographers call this anomaly an oblate spheroid, which means that the earth has a bulge towards the equator. As a result of this bulge, places close to the equator are
