This should end the arguments concerning lens of a particular brand, if they really use binning tech in all phones or demosaicing (demosaicing in most since some of their sensors got no Quad Bayer filter in them)

Addition to what Nell said, best option is to buy the korean or sprint if you want to root the phone.

G8s own is a taller display at 1080p and 4000mah battery compared to G8 1440p(can be adjusted to 1080p or 720p) and 3500mah battery. Also, G8s sometimes lags in SW updates and I don't think there's hope for rooting the phone yet.

I have been a loyal buyer of blackbery device before their demise some years ago and I av been using samsung phones ever since.
I decided to get a new phone for my younger sis yesterday
I check the Xiaomi phones available and I noticed most of them have bad camera.
The camera always look dark and does not look smooth like my samsung camera.
I also observe the tecno and infinix phones I saw perform better compare to the xiomi camera.
If Xiaomi is all about processor and bad camera....It's a big No for me.

Does anyone know any Xiaomi phone with good camera.

First of all tell us the name of the redmi/mi device (RN7/8/9), the Samsung device you used to do the comparison test and the Infinix/Tecno phones you observed.

The stock cam might not be Pixel or iPhone quality but you saying that Tecno and Infinix stock cam is better is what I won't believe. And which one is "camera always look dark".

Gcam go is another alternative you can try out. Na the lighter version of Gcam.

What OP considered is prices starting price from official outlets before they decide to drop the price, NL touts weren't included, even if they're affordable and a better option.
He even said pandemic price which some physical stores do practice. Hell, I read somewhere that someone got RN 9 128gb but what he paid could've gotten him a RN 9 Pro.

OEMs drop official prices of phones but most resellers don't follow the price. Also note that if more units are bought, there's a discount.
