festwiz:To me, owning a tablet is somewhat pointless if one got an Android device and a laptop The scenarios one needs a tablet is if said person is into I.T., web development or any job that requires you to monitor your work, make minor changes or start up a project to be transferred later if you're away from your laptop or PC. Owning one for owning sake or media consumption alone is a waste of the tablet potential. |
Hefymicky001:No wahala. |
Of course they won't. Seamless updates or A/B partition is a must have for devices launching with Android 11 out of the box and Android is getting bigger now. Meaning 128Gb ROM will become the new 64Gb. 2Gb RAM devices below are now under the Android Go program from 11 up, meaning the difference between entry and budget level phones is about to become very clear. |
Up till now, I've not seen any tests for the TV. Hefymicky001:We know, some of us got jobs or online lessons to do but drop your observations as you use the TV. A fancy YT video or epistle isn't necessary. |
Samsung internet or any chromium based browser for me. |
MegaPlayBoy:Take it back to the MTN shop you bought and registered the SIM before we see you in the front page for fraud o. |
festwiz:True that. Earlier point was in reference to OP post saying fast charging is also bad, so I pointed out a few devices I know that allow its users to charge at good ol 5W overnight, especially the Xperia 1 II that got a neat feature that's same as using your laptop plugged in without the batteries if one uses the device while charging. |
edoairways:Wizkid and Davido got the most followers and are the most talked about everywhere. Probably Mayorkun or Phyno but they wouldn't draw that kind of attention to all Nigerians like the first two I mentioned, unless Xiaomi takes a leaf from Glo books and endorse celebrities favoured by specific regions. Example is Phyno, he'd draw more people from the East as he's most talked about there after Davido n Wizkid. |
MegaPlayBoy:Amongst other brands too. |
I can relate to almost all here ![]() |
Note - mod is only for Android 10 up devices, doesn't work on Mediatek devices unless your brand rubbed shoulders with them and select brands whose fanboyism got the better part of them |
skywalker240:Guyyyyyyyyyy
|
skywalker240:Me don drop titles with 4K content before I hear say him no see any 4K movies for Netflix ![]() |
edoairways:Educating people isn't the problem. The problem is the technical bits. Not everyone understands it despite they are a few minutes away from getting simplified results from a Google search. If Xiaomi wants to become relevant the way Nigerians like, they should endorse a top celebrity here. If they do so, the music will change real fast and almost everyone will be hungry for information and wanting to try out the new "innovation" they bringing. Also Transsion got the ads part down to the letter to the point that if you educate someone today, tomorrow they'll have doubts, especially those who used Transsion products the way they were meant to be used (calls, light apps and the occasional online games with cloud feature instead of it constantly sending and receiving packets like Asphalt 8 and PUBG respectively) |
edoairways:Samsung has always been acting like Apple, especially on pricing their products. One of the reasons they weren't relevant in India is cos of their crappy pricing. When OnePlus entered the Indian market with their flagship killers along with Realme, xiaomi and other Chinese brands, Samsung had to revise their entire mid-range line - not hardware alone, but also price - cos India is one of the biggest market for mobile phones. Nigeria wasn't even on their mind when they did the revision, they just saw an opportunity to practice what they were doing in India before the revision happened. Nowadays, other brands are releasing better offerings, making Samsung midrangers look like an overpriced budget entry phone with super AMOLED screen. |
Abiodunspectre:You really want to go there abi... Fine. Tell me, do you use your device to play only dream league, PES, word cookie or candy crush? Abi you don't even know the difference between demanding games and light/casual games or you're one of those who only follow after the shadows of guys who can afford X10 of what you're using ba?? Cos if you READ what I wrote well, you'd see it's all based off experience which I personally conducted and seen myself. What I'll tell you to READ posts before you go and jump into conclusions, showing your IQ level, blindly defending a brand that doesn't know you exist. |
edoairways:True, previous Transsion device from hot 5 to note 5, didn't repair them despite my dislike for the phones so I could get a lil cash from their resale value (it's here potential buyers will become tech expert and tell you the specs of what you're selling is almost same as the new phone being released, making one sell at a loss, but same guy will buy the new Transsion phone and start yarning rubbish) But still, Tecno and Samsung are not trying, especially Samsung midrangers. Prioritizing big batteries and taller displays isn't the way to go again and sometimes it feels like their warranty doesn't exist. Sure fault could be from you but good God, must one pay a little fortune to fix something? |
edoairways:That and - 1. Smooth gameplay at max settings without worrying about frame drops after a few minutes into gameplay 2. More app support 3. Have a feel of how the latest hardware feels like, though it has mostly last gen hardware. I don't worry about parts since I don't handle my device carelessly cos someone says it got 5 or unbreakable screen. But if I should, there are lots of DIY videos on YouTube to get things done if I don't trust anyone to fix it for me, telegram and XDA for the software side. |
festwiz:Maybe he's testing it now or waiting for NEPA ![]() |
Name of it is badpower. It affects devices with fast charging by modifying charger software, making the device request for more voltage. Devices without option to update the charger firmware should be saving up to buy another phone. Software updates is your saving grace so it's better to do it. Also don't download apps from questionable sites and stores. |
festwiz:For Netflix, he should use Godzilla king of monsters, Joker {2020) or Avengers Endgame to test it. Those got 4K options irrespective of region. For YouTube own, let him select 4K in the filter option when searching for videos to watch, especially gaming ones. Once he's done search again with the 4k filter, choose several videos. Pause and check the quality of the video to see the max it can play at. Adding this in case he starts saying he doesn't know how to check or doesn't apply them search filters. Cheers. |
OneKinGuy:But the unused 50mb nonsense if one got an active data plan still remains... That one na story for another day. |
OneKinGuy:Tried it, it's working now. |
anthony533:With the ack of any good information on their Facebook page and the way the place looked like on maps, burning over 4k to hear some networking pitch in this period is what I'm not going to do. |
Previous comment got deleted... For a public forum that is absolute nonsense!! Mods should stop acting like the incompetent bodies in this country!!! ![]() |
anthony533:Same thing I got, exact verbatim. |
US or UK used flagship (if it has SD 855/855+) over current midrangers. |
Their flagship didn't even get any attention in the OS upgrade department... It's well. |
OneKinGuy:Got a text this morning announcing the 2Gb night plan. Dunno if it means it's official but I'll check it out tonight. |
The replies I'm seeing so far goes to show some people know nothing or are just yes-men. 100L students were preparing for the semester exams before ASUU started causing trouble. Some schools were more than ready to ignore ASUU till exams were over before FG decided it was a good idea to initiate lockdown. Fast forward to today, the government is undecided on education sector, ASUU is still ASUU and the federal and state ministry of education are making power moves on each other. If institutions decide to follow JAMB directives, it's not because they got anybody interest at heart, it's because they got to make money. They wouldn't give a fvck if some of its prospective student catch Corona, if anything, they'll disregard JAMB cutoff mark requirements, go as low as they can for more money. Summary - school this year isn't possible if safety precautions aren't in place, JAMB wants to join this pointless power play with the ministries, schools will use this opportunity to cash out on selfish parents who aren't interested in the health of their wards, they'll do it to claim bragging rights and lastly, it's a good opportunity for scammers and admission helpers. |
OneKinGuy:Same thing here. I'm pissed cos I was hoping to download videos on udemy for offline use ![]() |
