u guys should all look for the PBS documentary on new york city on you tube and then juxtapose it with naija or lagos.save this comment yall cos naija is going somewhere and the day i appear on forbes list,i will tell u all if nairaland still exists then that kushe said so.

dangote and adenuga should move cos kushe is coming and its an open invitation to everyone.

@buzugee

i like london and the developed world for the development and the constant light.sometimes i like the weather,most times i hate it.but before i moved to london,i spent most of my summer holidays in london throughout my secondary school days and what fascinated me most about london was the underground trains.

i wasnt allowed to go out in nigeria,but as a very young teenager,my folks allowed me go out on my own in london cos they knew i wouldnever get lost.the trains hav never stopped fascinating me up till today and every time i come back home the first thing that hits me is the infrastructural deficit in naija and the opportunities that abound.

settling in naija is a personal dream that is premised on dreams of development and a national divorce from mediocrity.nigerians are generally mediocre and accept mediocrity.whatttttt ! i hav met a lot of bb carrying,facebook chatting young nigerians,but generally,they still dont get it.

@hardbody

una never see anything,boys are waking up seriously in jand and are heading back home to take the reins of future opportunities. i am currently a member of an african think tank seeking investment opportunities in africa and some of my guys are from sierra leone,equitorial guinea,angola and zambia.we just met a namibian chick and the common denominator id that we are all professionals in the financial services sector with our eyes on the future of africa.

and besides if we dont come back,who is going to live in all those empty properties in 1004,oniru and lekki phase 1.secondly,london is not particularly a good place to raise kids above 8 yrs of age.''esu fe gba ijoba ni ilu yii'' like one of my aunties says.

@y'all

as I get older,i ponder on the inequalities in life and sometimes i feel we all comment based on perception and hear say.I hav lived in the UK for most of my adult life and my conclusion is eldorado got no location.I am extremely comfortable but I hav relatives,friends,church folk that i can hardly say the same about and sometimes i ask myself serious questions.

Was I born in the UK?I was born in lagos,went to an FGC,started uni in naija but stopped after a few months and went to college for A levels in London after which i got into uni in jand and i hav been there ever since.but i look back at several ppl i hav known in the past 16 years of living here and my conclusion,life is a journey and like rungs of a ladder we are all placed at different points in our journey,some have it tough,others quite easy,but the way u think ultimately determines who u are and what spot u will occupy on the ladder.

i cant relate to a lot of the hardship i read here cos till i wrote my last paper in uni,funds were only a phone call away,and i wasnt spoilt,but my parents were and are quite comfortable,but after uni,gbam,they boned me.Thank goodness i had the mindset of ascending the ladder and quick,cos i didnt complain but dove headlong into the system to see what it could do for me.I havent regretted being here one day.

But i will share a few tales with u guys,had a close naija friend we was in college doing a levels together,born and bred in london and sent to naija in secondary school for being too stubborn.after a levels he was like,f, k this sh, t.and he started working full time and partying hard.somewhere along the line,life crept up on him and he started a family,and they live in a council estate around dulwich,and during a recent visit after xmas,he admitted he messed up when it counted the most and blamed his current life on the choices he made back then.

how can u ascend the ladder in a foreign country without special skills or an entrepreneurial acumen that stands out?i know british ppl that are the scum of the earth,white oyinbo sad excuse for 'matter',spend their entire life at the pub and waiting for grants kind of ppl,how much more,an african immigrant,usually illegit,or those on a wild goose chase here thinking once i am past the gates of heathrow,faajii ti bere niyen.

i hav a lot of naija friends in london who hav done very well for themselves,some moved to other countries,some lost their jobs during the meltdown,some are just starting all over  again,but unfortunately,i know more that it is difficult to have a conversation with cos they just dont get it and now we are all in our mid thirties.life is what u make of it folks cos i was in naija till wensday and truthfully i would rather be there than here.

things are happening in naija,although a bit tight now,but with the impending explosion of the middle class in a few years,guys,i cant shout like they say in naija.i work in strategy consulting,and deducting the political uncertainties,nigeria is a strong contender for the first few slots to join the BRIC nations,with a recent report claiming this could happen as early as 2016 because of the growing population.

Ghana's shine is very temporary,naija is the place to be cos i am privy to a document that nigeria has the highest potential of producing new billionaires in the world by 2025 and we will have the highest number of billionaires in sub saharan africa by 2015.

do u know how much MTN has earned since 2001? meanwhile 285 million dollars was how much they paid for the license.a paltry sum compared to their annual profit and that is inspite of the lack of energy and corruption.

Let me be nice and leak some stuff here ,but it is only for the discerning.IDIOTS are barred plssssssssssssss.

what ever happened to comic relief ? i live in the u k and i am currently in nigeria and the tension is almost palpable. some people have even advised that i miss before saturday when the whole election kasala begin gas.

my point, maybe she is a rather creative well paid nigerian sister just sending out an sos from the entirety of the nigerian youth to our blind leaders.
maybe it is a publicity stunt,but isnt that a job for somebody else.now that the whole world is talking about the disappearing bride,we suddenly get the news of a new product or service and hope they succeed,but at least they tried.

whatever reason she did it for,she made us laugh,some of us cried for our beloved country,others are particularly enraged.as for me,i see it as a pointer to the creativity we can use in our entrepreneural quest. i heard tops 100 ppl will be employed by nnpc,but there is no limit to the number of ppl that should creatively start their own businesses.

@mobinga, bros i am 33 and i use to buy the source and blackbeat as far back as 95,trust me,i hav been following hip hop since b4 LL went 'mama said knock u out',i still remember some of my de la soul,arrested development,epmd lyrics.i  was never into public enemy or nwa but at least i liked snoop when he spat his first rhymes in nothing but a g thang,how about the fuschnickens b4 eazy e gave us bone thugs and harmony.

i love the hip hop energy on this forum but guys,lets not miss the crux of my gist.if u do hip hop for the love,u had better hav a solid income earner or a 9 to 5.how many chicks love critically acclaimed artists ? trust me chicks are not that patient to process complex stuff and guess who be at the top 10 rows in even hip hop concerts. chicks screaming and recording un clear trash on their mobile phones.they only care about stuff they hear on the radio or at the clubs,and if crazy hot chicks with their nails done and hair did suddenly remember they are nigerians cos they hear that crazy intro in african rapper no 1,and start migrating to the centre of the dance floor,now that is what true hip hop is and m i is its current ambassador.

ever been to a block party?i was at one in brooklyn in 97 shortly after biggie passed and it gave me more insight into the hip hop culture and origins.i sure hope mode nine got other sources of income cos that critical acclaim thing aint moving a muscle.and to be commercially successful,u need real fans,not cyber rats that jump on every attempt to pull u down,always reeling out history they just researched courtesy google.
i am hip hop bros,and a true fan,bought the 16.99 CDs and went to the concerts long before chatrooms went mainstream. so salute me soldier like olamide says in eni duro cos i dont talk hip hop,i also bought the merchandise.

but my point is, we all growing up and in the real world,peoples got bills to pay.we criticize those we love the most and some of dem foolishly try to impress us instead of researching how to give us the next hit record. established record labels drop you if your acclaim becomes too critical cos underground fame dont pay shareholders dividends.i hate ladygaga with a passion and just cant get the hype about her,but record companies that passed on her,her biting their fingers.she made 65 millions last year and is prolly akon's joker. mind you akon started out grimy,but woke up fast and see what happened.where are dem raekwon,redman,mc ren,hope they dont default on their bills.
Music/RadioRe: Sorry Ur Favorite Rappers, Mi And Iceprince Cant Freestyle by kushe: 10:17pm On Mar 26, 2011
been following hip hop since i was a kid like 8 or somein @tosin aded or whatever ur username is and twenty something years after,it is still basically the same thing. nobody remembers critical acclaim till you drop dead and they eulogise you like everybody be doing nate dogg now.
music is an art and once u decide to put ur art out there,u had better make some money rather than 'critical acclaim' cos bills will never stop rolling.

in my own opinion talib kwali is prolly like the best rapper in the world,but how much has that put in his pocket.even mos deff done sold out,by going hollywood. these guys realize critical acclaim dont pay the mortgage or settle child support,so let african rapper numero uno go on soun,cos the whole of london be feeling you meeeeeeeehn whether your brain freeze or not on top live tv or radio.nuffin do u cos u dey rhyme and u make sense die pass charlie loco sheen.

in lagos now by the way and i bought a cd at maryland,and i am loving the record. whaaaaaaaaat ? can anyone tell me about this olamide kid , fantastic slurry delivery , i am sure lil wayne will be proud to realize he has yoruba proteges.highly recommended for anyone who loves feel good music and i sure hope the guy blows cos he deserves to.
Music/RadioRe: Sorry Ur Favorite Rappers, Mi And Iceprince Cant Freestyle by kushe: 8:48pm On Mar 26, 2011
childish hip hop heads that cant draw a fine line between entertainment and music fundamentalism.grow up u lot talking crap about m.i.
been around a bit and from san francisco to milwaukee,philly to queens,dallas to atlanta,hip hop fans are basically the same,rude and annoying childish folks dat more often than not dont understand an artist is a person with his own aspirations and dreams.

has winning any rap battles bought anyone u know a nice ride,i dont think so.how about a nice crib,not even in yankee.so why all the noise.
i live in london and everyone i know loves mi to smitherings and ice prince too.they are loved cos they make popular music ppl can unwind to,like the flavour and m i joint and that oleku track.who cares if they go autistic on a live show?

i am sure m i is leaving better now and prolly pushing nice whips while u overzealous or jobless fans talk trash here.how much money all dem guys u be shouting about got ? and some fool talking about going commercial,u lot be kids here. make it to 30,get a wife and carry your critical nigerian acclaim and go rent house or put pikin for school,telling shi.t about spitting 64 bars.who in the real world cares about all dat ?

m i ,if u can hear me or ever read this,u are very releveant and that is what matters most.make ur paper now cos u might not always be on top of the rap game yet u will hav bills to pay.so goodluck while u are at it.

funny 2 wks ago,we was watching the new diddy and dirty money video,coming home,and my friend goes 'diddy cannot rap to save his life' and i was like i still love the song. very next day forbes announces diddy has the highest networth in hip hop,so guess who the real MC [money chief] is ?

@buzugee and aloy emeka

i appreciate that you mention the fact that you live in england or something like it,however like most people who traverse foreign lands,u seem to have a chronic lack of understanding of the wealth culture or how it is propagated.

money is only a means of exchange people with the real commodity being traded called something like VALUE.poor people think and talk just the way you guys are ranting and even if they bound you and cast you into the royal mints,you probably still would not know how money smelt.

why talk about jay z,beyonce and usher like they were the most expensive concert tickets on the block.have you ever been to an elton john concert,or a katie melua,maybe you wanna see billy joel or bruce springsteen when next they are in town.need i mention more U2,robbie williams,susan boyle,toby keith,bon jovi etc.u think say naa change u go carry go see every concert,ol boys abeg make una arrange una side

i hav mentioned a few names that will make nigerians be like wtf?yeah the f, k is that people attach sh.t loads of value to these folks and see how much their sold out tickets are resold on the black market.instead of elevating our celebs to global reckoning,we debase dem by questioning their right to be what we have made them.a celeb like tuface or dbanj is a brand and when you attend their concert,u are not paying for the pyrotechs,sound checks or the venue,rather you are paying for the brand to entertain you.you should get value for your money but they should get the accolades they deserve.

if you feel you are important,go stand in the middle of victoria or london bridge stations and see how many ppl go look ur side and watch either tuface or dbanj do the same.

to be a poor man,just think like one.

i see and understand perfectly where u seem to be coming from but the fact that every now and then a plane drops out of the sky doesnt mean u shouldnt attempt to fly.marriage the bible says is honourble and the bed undefiled,and just like every other piece o fadvice in the good book this is thrown out as the humanity in us would rather unleash careless recklessness and havoc in our daily lives.the product(i.e marriage) was good,it has just been misused.

as for not getting married,i met an older friend today,he must be say 40-42,and as the cold dealt with us ,i couldnt but notice the loneliness in his eyes.having lived here in london most of his adult life and unmarried,his christmas wasnt looking too good and he needed company.he was inviting me and any other naija pips over for a christmas eve get together ,and to imagine this was someone that rocked london in the nineties chicks wise.you might havall the fun now,but you will definitely pay later.

since i can see the thread is ending,let me end by saying my girl might not be the most forgiving woman in the world but let me praise her for the goodin her.

she is extremely respectful to older people despite the fact that she came here after secondary school,and i know my ppl will love and appreciate her for that.

eventhough it gets on my nerves,she adores her family and is in close touch with all her siblings.sometimes her folks call to report her siblings and each other to her and somehow she always brings everybody together.

she is very good to look at,her face,her lips,her hips,her skin.wow,she is amazing.

we passed by a lamp store together once and i was stunned by this really nice lamp with a unique design,eventhough i didn't mention it to her,she knew i really liked it and this was the only copy they had left cos they dealt in unique items bought over the internet.

anyways two months later on my birthday,i got a wrapped box and i had already hissed thinking it was some crap until i opened it.i must confess,a tear came  to my eye as i had completely written this girl off.she had gone back to the store the day after to buy the lamp and kept it till my birthday and these were the words she wrote in the card that came with the gift

trust me u are an alien to think nigerians are shallow and u live in chicago.i am nigerian ,i live in london and i know a lot of nigerians ,but shallow is not exactly how i would describe us.we are very corrupt but not shallow.

white people are shallow,especially in celebrity worship,eg the fact that the guy who won xfactor is almost sure of a no 1 in 2 wks,but that is a cultural thing and has nothing to do with nigerians.

why should beyonce earn almost 250 million in 3 years,why should lady gaga earn 65 million in one year for being a renowned psycho,isn't it obscene for anybody to be worth 1 billion dollars if u knew what that can buy,isnt it unfair that mittal spent a hunderd million pounds on his daughter's wedding while hundeds of millions of peoplein india go to bed hungry everynight,dont u wanna kill abramovich for spending the gdp of some african countries on boats he doesn't even spend an entire month of a year in

but u know what my friend,they didnt steal your money and trust me each one of these people pay their taxes which means u can hug a transformer if u are so pissed.
