McTobe: Too many negative talks from the older nairalanders. One even call some of the girls “Dirty”, another that they have poor sense of clothing and the other that they can’t even buy better drinks. All these comments are signs of intolerance, immaturity and poor personal development. At least you can excuse some of their acts as youthful exuberance and some of us did same when we were their age and don’t forget that they are mostly dependents and not working. So don’t kill their morale with your negative energy and thoughts. It’s Christmas share some loving thoughts, please. FYI: there is nothing wrong with the older guys having their own Getaway, it’s a cyber space expect people of different classes and age moreover it’s not a specialized forum.
Cheers you get plenty sense, merry Christmas. More sense to you. |

As I wrote...only 5% of the people who knew him will still remember him after a couple of days and that 5% are his loved ones and people he was very close to.
May GOD grant you sense in 2020. oh shut up there ,let the stars align with your sense this coming decade bro. IgboSomalia: The owners of the cars should be tried according to the Lagos State Road Traffic Law 2011. That way, they are either fined, imprisoned or suffer both.
This is Lagos, this is not lawless Abia Somalia where you do anyhow because you are a House of Rep member, your father is the Governor or your kinsman is a Local Government Chairman.
Guys, just for a minute imagine that Shina Peller was an Igbo man or Akin Alabi was an Igbo man. Our Wawa Somalia brothers would have written a petition to Benjamin Iwuayanwu their brother who is the Prime Minister of Israel as well as Donachukwu Trump. Toks2008: This life.
Let me guess what happens next...
In the next 24 hours, 70% of those who knew him will forget about him...in the next couple of days 25% of those who knew him will forget he ever existed and in about a month from now nearly everyone will forget he ever existed. ..his wife will eventually end up under another man and all he ever worked for will be enjoyed by another person and same fate awaits everyone of us...life goes on for those who are still on earth and that is the irony of life.
The best thing anyone can do is to accept salvation through Christ Jesus cos as a believer, if you die, you actually start living a greater life and you care less if the world remembers you on earth.
GOD FORBID that I am forgotten on earth and also forgotten in Heaven.
Rest on bro. how you people come to this forum to make assumptions you know nothing about baffles me,where did you conduct your survey to be pulling out percentages?,have you ever lost a family member ? Have you ever lived with a widow?.Lets assume you know one or two people who have suffered the loss of a loved one, is that enough data for you to pull your statistics from ,that these people go about their daily lives for you to see does that indicate they have have forgotten the dead, are you in their heart? Do you even know how grief takes a toll on those who have lost dear ones to come to the conclusion that a deceased will be forgotten? The scars of loosing a loved one lives within you,the space is never filled. Most times humans try to forget to ease the hurt the demise has left ,but the truth is a loved one is never forgotten, its a permanent void that can never be filled. Lets be guided please, you lots talk anyhow on this forum too much .2020 is around the corner, let this nonsense generalisation end this year. |

CeterisXVII: In fact, I was laughing as I was looking at those pictures....and thinking to myself, "is she for real?"
With the sun, heat and stress in Lagos, you want to be doing hair buns, for active little girls, who know how to play rough play, anyhow they like. Breeze too go follow join, scatter di hair.
Abeg, help me tell dem!! Na real war zone the whole head go resemble.... lol. Even with braids i have seen some kids ,you will think they were fighting with the hair when playing. |

midnighter: Lol your own must be bad at least you can empathise with all the little princesses out there.
Yes, I think that's more of a wider cultural point about the way we see things. Parents are sometimes unable to engage with a child's individual quirks because they think it means they must be "spoiling" them.
Its the same reason parents indiscriminately beat their children when some kids respond better to a stern warning or explanation than flogging. Its that bad,lol ,me and my tender scalp. The bottom line is mothers should know the temperament level of their kids. I have seen mothers say "that is how she always cries when making her hair" well may that child is probably like me with tender scalp. Cut it off simple. |
Family › Re: Moms! Quit Putting Little Girls Through Torture In The Name Of Braiding Hair. by Ladycewhy(f): 7:43pm On Dec 23, 2019 |
midnighter: Yes, I think the child's individual temperament is important too. Some children are more sensitive than others and some children would rather bear the pain and hours of sitting still rather than shave their heads
My pain tolerance has always been okay but if I find somebody with a soft hand I will stick to them like glue some of them will be acting like its your scalps fault that nepa has gone on strike smh you will just be shouting at them like a madwoman for me its every body o,no matter how gentle. This year i only did my hair twice and it was out of necessity. So i can understand some children are like that too. My only anger is when parents refuse to realize their child is very sensitive to making hair and still let it continue. |

midnighter: Totally. Who has time in the morning to be manipulating all the curls and sprigs Just for it to get messed up after a couple of minutes or, even worse, the girl doesn't feel comfortable playing and goofing around with her friends because "I don't want to scatter this hair".
Very unpractical. This is why braids were developed in the first place! Exactly. Braids is more durable . plus lets not forget the discomfort the child has to go through every morning. For some children sitting still alone is enough punishment imagine they have to sit still every morning to get their hair done. Personally i dont like someone making my hair,if i make my hair as old as i am i must take drugs. So i stopped ,i weave my hair myself and put on my wig. People are sensitive to making hair differently. So for children who are very sensitive when making their hair, its better to cut it and let them be. |
Family › Re: Moms! Quit Putting Little Girls Through Torture In The Name Of Braiding Hair. by Ladycewhy(f): 7:17pm On Dec 23, 2019 |
midnighter: Exactly. Those lovely pictures are of when the child is sitting still and behaving. What about after 5 hours of play and yab
At least braids are robust enough to let the child be free with herself Thats the point ,how durable and sustainable are buns? Just give the child 30 mins to play and all the hair will be over the place plus not everyone has the time to style hair every morning before school imagine if you have two daughters or more. |

1Sharon: All you have to do is tie it again ,not all hair texture will cooperate, before they return from school the hair will look like the child went to a war zone. The hair stretching every morning is not worth it. |

1Sharon: So you don't have to do alot for these styles: If you have to do it every morning for a child before school, its alot of stress. |
Family › Re: Moms! Quit Putting Little Girls Through Torture In The Name Of Braiding Hair. by Ladycewhy(f): 6:32pm On Dec 23, 2019 |
fieryy: All textures can sustain a daily maintenance of a bun. I used mine as an example, but all you had to say was 'That's your hair'. Buns are one of the easiest low maintenance hair styles, especially for natural hair i disagree. Not all textures are substianable for daily bun maintenance. The stress of having to style everyday and make it into a bun is more compared to just making it into braids once in a week.So why not braid it once a week insead of going through the trouble every single day to style it? |

cococandy: Most Nigerians celebrities wear fake designers. EOD.
With their 50,000 Naira Hermes and Chanel bags Not When the authentic ones usually start around 500k -1 mil (per conversion rates and depending on brand).
Even original Michael Kors costs around 100k -200k for the average ones. Not even the MK collections which cost A LOT more.
I’m more afraid for those celebrities who own fashion boutiques that sell “authentic” designers and won’t let us rest on instagram with their 5,000 Naira Steve Madden shoes. The day counterfeit police will remember them, they will go bankrupt trying to get out of that mess. Mercy somebody take note. I love lady entrepreneurs but many of them aren’t even aware of what they are involved in.
Be proud of made in Nigeria products and promote your own country products.
A Chanel purse that costs $5,000 before tax (1.8 mil Naira) has no business being sold for 100k in one shopping complex in Abuja. It wasn’t made for the Nigerian market. And no they didn’t reduce the price for us, as those brands never go on sale. You buying it thinking you’re a big boy or girl for spending 100k on a bag or pair shoes are just being played. Using your money to oil one child labor sweat shop in China.

Or better still parents and child will settle, and you would have just taken paracetamol for another man's headache. In my honest opinion ,you are not a friend anyone needs in their lives for you to even be contemplating this. Please dont go ,so that friend of yours will know what kind of a friend you are. |

godbless120: Gender bias? u are blind.. i said in naraland alone this yr that it is 5:1, i didn't generalize nor say men haven't done same.. now go bck to all those post and see which ones attrack critism from male/female.. In the ones of a woman beating a girl, go and see that some girls/women will stand with the madam and justify the action. 5:1 is from nairaland trait i don't to copy all the post like you do and i didn't men don't do same You have been pulling out ratios and statistics i believe the number of victims involved in the touture houses this year alone that has come to light is over 500. So if we are to put it in ratio that should be 100:1.You are yet to show us your hashtag on the sodomised boys in tourture houses i believe that one too was on nairaland , one would espect the hashtag to still be trending from from people like you ,since you are all about hashtags. Or you just like the people you are pointing accusing fingers at choose what benefits you? Actually those thread were just avenues for naiaraland boys to whine about how women are the reason for too much rain and sun so it doesnt count as criticism. Just like all of you here are quick to wail about how women are more wicked than men bla bla bla. If they have to they will even drag their mothers into it like one did on this thread ,lol. But if we decide to give accounts of victims and compare crimes based on gender ,you men will top the charts. |

godbless120: Still quoting me out of point.. men also campaign when serial killer is on the loose.
my point is in this yr alone, we hv seen vidoes/picture of madam maltreating the maids/househelp almost in a weekly to monthly basis and fellow women will justify abt it and do nothing to create awareness but if it was the other way round the story will carry more weight and that is why in every 1 wicked oga, we have 5 wicked madams. And who told you the ratio is 1: 5 if i may ask? Oh because men are more covert and get away with it more? You see why i said you lots are nothing but biased fellows ,lol. When men beat kids its termed discipline even when its beyond brutal . This year alone the cases of rape of men getting their own daughters pregnant to even men raping kids have doubled.Even little boys are no longer safe ,sodomy here and there .The number of tortured and sodomised boys in torture houses that has come to light this year alone is alarming ,what have the men in this country done? Or you are waiting for women to hashtag sodomised boys too? I remember one place alone had over 300 boys in chains , You that is here ,i would like to see your comments about that,or your own hashtag is not working? |
Crime › Re: Nigeria Lady Beating Her Underage Househelp Goes Viral by Ladycewhy(f): 8:40am On Dec 22, 2019 |
godbless120: I didn't say otherwise.. My point is why there is no hashtag and awareness for this kind of situation but just another issue, women wil suddenly and easily create hashtag and awareness.. Yet the same man you are covering his wrongdoing in the dark is the same man you want him to take you absolutely serious and in high esteem there are so many things there are no hashtags for . people choose what benefits them. But i am wondering why you think only women need to create hashtags tho. . Even during the serial killer issue ,it was women who championed the course ,or una men nor be human being? |
