KnowAll: Now you are comming out of your shell, before it was on the fence, now it is to support GEJ. If you were truly convinced before that GEJ cannot lead us to where we wanna be, what has changed about GEJ to ask us to vote him. GEJ has been begging Ciroma for ages so assuming Ciroma accpeted what will you do? Honestly your reasons and excuses are not holding ground. You are free to support Shekarau or Dele moomodu if you wish but stop this bad campaign. |

Politics / Re: Buhari Is A Goner by Lagosboy: 2:55pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
We dont sit on the fence, we have principles, we know where we stand and we know who has our support. If we lose in a free and fair election , then so be it as it is never a do or die affair. My point is dont start a negative campaign against the peoples General if you were truly in support of his candidature or ever believed in it |
Politics / Re: Igp Ringim Orders Arresst Of Tukur Mamu by Lagosboy: 2:50pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
Meanwhile, the Protection Rights of Journalists of Africa (PRJA), a body that protects the rights of journalists in Africa with its Headquarters’ in Cape Town, South Afriica, which recently appointed Mamu as its first African Consultant on Media Affairs has just released a statement calling on Nigerian authorities to respect the fundamental rights of Mamu and sue the paper if they have anything against any of the paper’s publication or on the DH Alert. The President and Secretary General of PRJA, Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and Mr. John Nkonu said they will send formal letter to President Jonathan on the issue. Similarly, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ)has issued similar press release calling on President Jonathan to caution and put an end on the impunity of the Nigeria Police. All effort to reach Mamu was not successful as he was said to be in hiding outside Kaduna. Our sources said the police have ransacked his office and left with vital documents including laptops and tape recorders. Politics / Igp Ringim Orders Arresst Of Tukur Mamu by Lagosboy: 2:49pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
In another move to silence the few vibrant media in Nigeria ahead of the upcoming presidential ang gubernatorial election, Inspector General of Police, Hifiz Ringim has ordered the arrest of the Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of DESERT HERALD newspaper and magazine, Tukur Mamu in Kaduna this evening. Our source confided that Mobile Police men as well plain cloth police numbering about thirty have siege DESERT HERALD Corporate office in Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna to arrest Tukur Mamu. The publisher who was arrested five times in less than one year on the instruction of federal authorities in Nigeria because of the paper’s critical analysis on issues, had earlier received secret information about the impending arrest from sources at the Force CID in Garki, Abuja and hurried left the office because of the unusual manner of the arrest and rampant threat to his life. As at the time of filling this report, sources at DESERT HERALD said the embattled publisher has gone into hiding because of several calls threating to kill him and the number of high profile PDP politicians that reportedly bribed IGP Ringim to arrest him and ensure his incarceration till after the elections. Further findings revealed that the order of his arrest by Ringim is connected to the new innovation of the paper which provides sending free sms Alert to millions of GSM users in Nigeria. The innovation called DH Alert was first of its kind by any paper in Nigeria and has of recent make serious impact in the polity because of the breaking news and sensitive issues of national importance the Alert is disseminating. President Jonathan and Vice President Sambo was of recent very uncomfortable with the nature of information, news and awareness the DH Alert is providing to Nigerians. Kaduna State government was also an interested party to see Mamu is arrested and persecuted because they regard the papers report on Kaduna inconsistent with their political interest. |

Guy supporting a cause does not mean you have to win. you might think in reality Buhari cannot win but that does not change the fact that you should vote with your consience for whomever you think can transform Nigeria. Even Dele momodu will get votes from people who believes in him. Shekarau will get votes. I support Buhari but dont htink he can win is different from i am switching sides because i dont htink he can win. |
Politics / Re: Is It True 95% Of Bb Fans In The North Are Not Registered? by Lagosboy: 2:37pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
There is no sword anywhere buddie. The generals asked him what he required to win the election, he told them to go meet with Tinubu for SW votes. Those guys you mentioned cannot win any state for Buhari. common everyone knows where Buhari stands with regards to some of these people. how can you because of metroline of 27 yrs ago now claim you are no longer supporting Buhari because he cancelled it. why did IBB not revive it, why did Jakande not revive it when he was federal minister, why did Tinubu not do it if it was that easy. Guy you are free to switch sides but dont start a campaign against the peoples general, if you indeed truly believed in his candidature in the first place. |

This is a man who truly believes in his principles, loves Nigeria and wants to change Nigeria. He has never had personal interes in wealth acquisition , he is not running to become rich or chop national cake. My love for this man is enourmous. My salute to you , the peoples general!! |
Politics / Re: Buhari Is A Goner by Lagosboy: 2:24pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
Guy when you support a cause , you do so for a reason and based on principles. You are entitlted to change your mind anytime but in life one will always face setbacks and adversities. The hallmark of success is persistence and difference between successfull people is that 90% of the people give up when they are just about to make it and the remaining 10% always succeed because they have the tenacity to carry on. Even if we lose , satisfaction lies in the effort and our conscience will be forever clear we supported the right candidate for Nigeria. As for me it was BB yeterday, BB today and BB tomorrow.!!! |
Politics / Re: Is It True 95% Of Bb Fans In The North Are Not Registered? by Lagosboy: 2:18pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
Where did you get this notion from that they are not registered. Registration of voters was way before campaign started. The idea of BB team were overwhelmed by the amount of people trooping out for campaigns is false because registration was about 2 months before campaign even started at all. |
Politics / Re: How GEJ Will Win On Saturday Foretold by Lagosboy: 12:49pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
Somebody sits down and concoct vicotry polls out if his imagination. If GEJ wins Lagos then 51% of Lagosians must stand for retrogression. As a lagosian I know we are progressives and always stand for progress, we have never voted for the wrong choice, never voted PDP into power and will never vote PDP. GEJ or JEG or JEGA whatver name he is. |

Politics / Re: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 11:47am On Apr 13, 2011 |
Gbawe: Information we are getting again says Bakare agreed to resign , Buhari agreed for a VP from aCN but it must be agreed that it will not be Tinubu, ACN said no and the alliance failed again. Bisi Akande IMO is a Buhari hater from the onset. ACN is runnign an AD accusing Buhari of scuttling the Metro system , it is all messy now. Right now , i think tinubu feels they stand to gain more not supporting Buhari which i think is placing party above country. All said and done let everyone vote for his candidate on sat and let u sknow who has the real mandate. Tinubu i believe wants to be VP so as to be president in 2015 , hence his sincere support for the alliance to work only if he is VP. Assuming the other folks in ACN were good they would have pressured him into letting off this condition but the old man Bisi Akande hates Buhari hence the clog in the wheel. I understand ACN governors are also not in support of the alliance. |
Politics / Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by Lagosboy: 11:40am On Apr 13, 2011 |
seal777: Thanks for this. Vicotry shall be ours God willing. the struggle continues and this failure in the alliance IMO means itis not in the best interest for it to even work. A win without ACN is the ideal victory which gives Buhari the political mandate to govern without sentiments. |

Politics / Re: Who Will Inherit Gen. Muhammadu Buhari's Political Legacy? by Lagosboy: 11:35am On Apr 13, 2011 |
This is something that has been on my mind for a while. Nasir El Rufai is a good guy to step into those shoes but i don tthink there is anyone that can match Buharis simplicity , integrity, self contentment, and philiosophy among the current known people around. there might be others who are unnown and in the inner circles of Buhari though. Ribadu should have romanced Buhari for his future. Ribadu needs a base in politics , right now he has no base. If Tinubu disses him tomorrow he has no base to fall back to. SW is not his base and will never be his base. Charity begins at home and OBJ is suffering today because has really had no local base. El Rufai is very smart to have identitfied with the popular candidate in the north which will pay him in the long run as he has his sights on the presidency. Ribadu might be the biggest loser after this election, if GEJ wins , the north will produce th epresident in 2015 and El rufai will contest either in PDP or CPC. ACN again will look for whatever suits them and go with it , Ribadu is of no electoral value on his own IMO where it matters which is the NE. |
Politics / Re: It's Not War, It's Election After All by Lagosboy: 11:27am On Apr 13, 2011 |
some NLers might even be running for office in 2015, if the polarisation is deep, such aspirants will not be comfortable to reveal their aspirations on NL. I think this is a good community though and by 2015 maybe diasporans might be allowed to vote which will make it more interesting. |
Politics / Re: Ribadu Remains In Presidencial Race! Cpc/Acn Talk Fails by Lagosboy: 11:09am On Apr 13, 2011 |
ndu_chucks: This is the main problemm , Tinubu has his eyes set on the presidency and i sincerly believe he will run in 2015, if a northerner emerges as president. That is why he wants to support Buhari and be his VP. Buhari does not want Tinubu as his vice for obvious reasons and he is not desperate to be president witha Tinubu VP. I believe this story 100% and it is a shame folks in ACN cannot stand up to Tinubu especially the old man Bisi Akande who hates Buhari |

I have written a rejoinder to this mans article in the past to which he had nothing to say. So when i attack him , i know what i am doing. |

Ribadu will not win his local govt on sat, ribadu himself knows he cannot win this election. ACN is nothing but a spoiler |

This Naiwu osahon is a guy with no brains. His writings are always so shallow i dont know what to say. @poster this was in early 2010 and has been debated here on NL and on Sahara reporters. It is stale news as two rejoinders have been made to tackle all his points |
Politics / Re: Buhari, Tinubu Close To A Deal ! by Lagosboy: 10:02am On Apr 13, 2011 |
The cabals cannot help him with one vote. the cabal wanted to support him and he asked them to go speak to Tinubu as where he needs wote is in the SW. ekt_bear: Tinubu will want the billions they have spent on election back. LAgos osun and Ekitis states peoples money.Money will com eand ACN guys will share it. Nigerian polticians lack integrity and it is people who stake their lives for this rogues i pity the most. |
Politics / Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by Lagosboy: 9:55am On Apr 13, 2011 |
Same here bro i was sending texts and emails all around , until this presidential jet picking Tinubu up to GEJ dampened my spririt. NJN: The dream is on , we have not giving up, the struggle continues. We are realists and we know for Buhari to win this election he needs the SW votes. We will do our best and hope is sitll very much alive. One thing is a sure banker for me though God willing , Ribadu cannot win this election first round never never. I have always chosen the killer instinct in poltics , Ribadu and Tinubu are running an AD accusing Buhari of metro not materilasing in Lagos. The CPC should have gone a big offensive against Tinubu and ¨Ribadu in the SW. This nice nice stuff doesnt work in the dirty politics of Nigeria. 72 hours to election ACN is trying to sway emotions away from people voting Buhari when the clearly know Ribadu cannot win the elcetion. Can someone tell me who they are subtly giving room to win? Bisi Akande the old man is one of the arrow heads against Buhari in ACN, surprising to hear even the ACN governors are against the alliance. party solidairty i guess is more important for this guys. I pray and hope Buhari wins this election without Tinubus or ACNs help. Tinubu cut deals with yaradua at the expense of Atiku in 2007 , him cutting deals with GEJ will never surprise me |

Politics / Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by Lagosboy: 8:53am On Apr 13, 2011 |
The struggle continues, posterity will not forgive these ACN guys and those around Buhari who are not making this work. I think there are some guys around Buhari who think CPC can do this alone, thinking there will be a run off. Planning towards a run off is planning towards failure IMO. These PDP morons have a large base in the SW and if they all vote GEJ on sat , i think it might not be looking good for us. Consider OGun state , when you add PDP and PPN votes in the three senatorial district together it is more than ACNs votes In Ondo state if you combine LP and PDPs votes it is 90% victory for GEJ on sat In Osun state GEJ can pull at least 35 - 40% of votes In LAgos PDPs votes was around 30% Plus ACN is currently running an AD castigating Buhari for scuttling the metro line, which is raising sentiments. Well, the struggle continues |
Politics / Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by Lagosboy: 8:47am On Apr 13, 2011 |
Jarus: Bisi Akande i think is the arrow head of this anti Buhari thing in ACN , plus Tinub only cares about their personal gain. He stands to lose nothing with PDP at the center and him in control of the SW |
Politics / Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by Lagosboy: 8:45am On Apr 13, 2011 |
Oh gosh i was just reading that as well, he was flown out to Abuja last night. Bro i am begining to hate this guy the more GOSH!! |
Politics / Re: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 8:38am On Apr 13, 2011 |
I think at this juncture both parties have to be blamed ACN and CPC because when you have a common enemy 3 days to election and you have an option of joining hands to kick them out. You have to kick them out and worry about the differences on Sunday after the election. It seems some folks in ACN dont want a Buhari presidency and i am thinking the main guy is Bisi Akande , although i am not a Tinubu fan I sincerely believe in my heart he is not totally opposed to this alliance talks. Me thinks Bisi Akande and some other actors are scuttling this alliance. On the CPC side maybe it is Bakare who is being difficult our some guys around Buhari like Hamman, Odumakin who stand to gain lots if they win without ACN role. On the other hand some might be thinking the election is headed for a run off and only then would it be suitable to negotiate but my belief is working towards a run off is working towards failure. |
Politics / Re: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 8:24am On Apr 13, 2011 |
Oh Gosh it seems this thing never worked out, all parties should have been flexible . I guess we go back to the status quo and i am begining to have the funny feeling GEJ might win this election. These PDP morons have a large support base in the SW All hope is not lost though , the struggle continues. One thing is certain though Ribadu cannot win this election, so i dont understand the aim of ACN in this presidnetial election. SW is captured fine but what of the center which affects the whole country is the main problem. States cannot give us electricity, Major roads, major infrastuctures e.t.c |
