You actually think the SS would tolerate a Buhari presidency? You got jokes. cool
Whoever does not tolerate Buhari presidency approved by majority of Nigerians in a credible election should go drown with his fishing boat.

I am very unhappy with this news because it proves two things:
1) It shows that the north still has this born to rule mentality. I mean, did Falae step down for OBJhuh Why do the north always step down for each other just so they do not split the Northern vote?! angry The tribalism and regional sentiment in this country is just appalling!!!
2) Is this the alliance of ACN and CPChuh I do not want ACN to join up with CPC because it will guarantee a win which means the SS and SE will be relegated and that will be unfair. Instead, they should stay apart and let the best person win.

BTW, these northern people can be tribalistic attimes . angry angry angry
Why could the SE not produce an aspirant as well? The SE chose to go with GEJ and you dont see that as unfair ?
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 9:22pm On Apr 12, 2011

PapaBrowne:
Exactly why I say this is coming too late. By law, campaigning ends on Thursday. So Tinubu and his ACN gang have only tommorow to get this information out to the nooks and crannies of the villages. Now how is that possiblehuh These guys have made the election easier for GEJ. The only time the Jonathan camp can have cause to worry is if Shekarau steps down. Ribadu stepping down gives Jonathan full control of the south west!
It way too late for this to benefit Buhari.
Formal campaign ends on thurs butinformal campaign finishes after the election. Te message will spread like wild fire in the SW, ward leaders will pass the message to their wards easily IMO. ACN strongholds even on election day agents will shout dont vote for ACN o. Some votes will be lost bt Buhari only needs 30% of SW towin this election.

This alliance will garner Buhari at least 50% of SW votes. 20% in Anambra, 35% in Akwa Ibom, 40% in BEnue , 80% in Edo state and let u welcome BB train to Aso Rock
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 9:08pm On Apr 12, 2011
I will forever appreciate this from Tinubu and Ribadu , honestly and i will. Omo buruku lojo tie and today Tinubu and Ribadu have gotten their days.

Let mass awareness start on the CPC logo .

Kai GEJ,OBJ,Anenih and co might commit suicide the way this thing is going o

Err, Tinubu and the ACN had better have negotiated something good. I'm not interested in doing anyone any favors for free . . .
Ministerial slots and SGF might have been on the table. Maybe Bakare might make some sacrifices as well only God knows the deal but things will become clearer.

SW are enlightened and people could be told to vote CPC but votes in Benue, Anambra, Edo state, Adamawa is what i am worried about. The rural areas in the SW might be a factor as well
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 8:59pm On Apr 12, 2011
But how do we enlighten the whole electorate not to thumprint on  the ACN logo on sat. Millions of votes might be lost as void votes oh gosh , why did this not come earlier.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 8:57pm On Apr 12, 2011
I can imagine Buhari getting 50% of the entire SW votes at this moment if this is true. Then we win NE,NW oh my God . Let us congratulate President Elect Buhari, congratulate Ribadu, Congratulate ACN for behaving well an conratulate Tinubu for putting the greater good above narrow gains

grin  grin  grin
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Stands Down by Lagosboy: 8:53pm On Apr 12, 2011

PoliticsRe: As Tinubu Names His Price by Lagosboy: 5:27pm On Apr 12, 2011
Nigerian polticians lack integrity and this is very possible and i will not be surprised in the least if something like this happens.

The people i pity is those who stake their lives for Nigerian politicians who only go back to cut deals in secret.
PoliticsRe: Inc Claims Ownership Of The 1 Million Fake Ballot Papers! by Lagosboy: 5:24pm On Apr 12, 2011
What is the meaning of this? What stops a compromised presiding office from putting the paper in the ballot box and how will party agents prevent such votes from being counted if we are all ignorant of this provision.

This is mega confusion. How can we prove such ballot papers have not being used in this election to rig ?
PoliticsRe: Governors Heading For Defeat by Lagosboy: 3:24pm On Apr 12, 2011
kWANKASO Was governor of Kano 12 years ago in 1999 , 12 years later he is about to be elected as Governor of Kano again, He must be deeply popular in the state.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Does Not Support Buhari For Presidency by Lagosboy: 3:16pm On Apr 12, 2011
This an article written by SLS in 2003 for goodness sake , even as far back as 2003 SLS said he will vote for Buhari when majority of Nigerians rejected Buhari.

Fastfoward to 2011 Nigerian needs Buhari urgently now compared to 2003.

Please stop misleading people with this topic. SANUSI SAID IN THE ARTICLE HE WILL VOTE BUHARI FAR BACK IN 2003 YOUR TOPIC IS PLAIN FALSHEOOD AND FRAUDULENT. BE MATURED ENOUGH TO MODIFY IT.
PoliticsRe: Iyabo Obasanjo Poised For Ministerial Appointment After Losing Senate Seat by Lagosboy: 3:12pm On Apr 12, 2011
If GEJ loses this election , I see Bankole in ACN as i did not even read this before i said it yeterday on another thread that Bankole will son go beg Osoba and Tinubu to move to ACN. The guy is young , stolen lots of money and has his sight on future political office. Might want to be governor after Amosun or run for senate in the next 4 years.
PoliticsRe: Vice-president Namadi Sambo’s Constituency Goes To Cpc by Lagosboy: 2:29pm On Apr 12, 2011
Now that it is clear Sambo has no electoral value , the signs are on the wall about what will happen in 4 days time. Buhari will sweep the northern votes by a landslide except it is rigged.

Why would PDP, allow dosunmu to run 4 Governorship, absolute rubbish,we all know is a rogue, thr are loads of young and vibrant aspirant but no na money kill PDP primaries. He was rubbish by fashola in d Gov'debate, see life sell out his now backing Buhari.
Guy which Dosumo are you talking about?

Ade Dosunmi is different from Wahab Dosunmu who is well respected in lagos political circles.

@Dapolam

Well done to you , honestly i admire your courage and the ability to come back here to check out the thread just 3 days after your loss in the lection. It shows you have moved on, dont listen to all the negative criticism , many of these people will pray to have the opportunity you had in contesting as well.

I guess you are in your early 30s, so you have more time on your side to still represent your people.

Good job you tried and that is where the satisfaction lies.

Very True!!!

I'm pretty sure there are more siblings of past public office holders who contested in the National Assembly Elections and many more will still contest in the State Assembly Elections.

Olumide Osoba (the son of former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba) also contested the National Assembly Election in Ogun state. I'm assuming he won since his party the ACN swept the state.

Olumide was my senior in Secondary School and I know him quite well so I have no problem with him winning. It's always good to have friends in high places wink
Oga you go ISL or A hall ?
PoliticsRe: Wahab Dosunmu Endorses Buhari! by Lagosboy: 11:42am On Apr 12, 2011
Wahab Dosunmu was a former senator in Lagos and a one time Leading Lagos politician. I do like him for reasons i dont know though, he writes articles on issues once in a while and i find them interesting.

He is a PDP member and one since 2002, he simply followed his consience and we should applaud him for that as he stands to gain nothing from a BB presidency but everything to gain from a GEJ presidency.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Buhari Woo Tinubu ! by Lagosboy: 11:37am On Apr 12, 2011
Gbawe:
Guys , it is true . The efforts to woo Tinubu began a few days back when events on the ground made some folks reconsider their delusions. For once, I have to defend GEJ. This is a legitimate and pragmative move by him. I respect legal strategy to win votes . Most of you should know this is done worldwide. I remember many years ago , during the elections in the UK, this guy came running frantically to my door. It was the labour Party MP candidate for my ward himself !! He had ben running from house to house !!!! He had come to plead for me to head to my polling station immediately to go and cast my vote for the labour Party to prevent the BNP winning !!!! The BNP is a Party with racist views!!! So his 'deal' for me was "vote for us defeat those who hate you".

Despite the noise here, the ACN had remained inclined to work with Buhari but Bakare did not help the cause with his many unprovoked attack on Tinubu and Ribadu. It got many angry and most folks could not understand why he was doing it. He lost Buhari a lot of goodwill and I tried to warn folks here to calm down instead BB fans kept up the attack againt the character of Tinubu and Ribadu. Well, politics is what it is. Some of us will learn the hard way that , on the ground , things are very different to fantasy.
I quite agree Bakare made some mistakes but this is politics a new turf from the pulpit where you can say anything as you see it. I still believe there was some truth in Bakare statements but sometimes in politics you dont say everything as you see it. Tinubu also went on the offensive calling Buhari an expired leader in the heart of Kano . If ACN and Bakare really cares about Nigerians and the greater goal then it should not be an atom of problem for the aliiance to work.

However the reality on ground is that no alliance can work 4 days to election, the ballot paper has been printed, Ribadu not running means millions of votes will be wested as voids because millions will never know he has stepped down. The only hope for an alliance is if this election goes to a run off.

My worry is that there is a huge amount of PDP supporters in the SW and if these people vote GEJ on sat, this election might just be won by GEJ because even if this election goes to a run off between Buhari and ACN. ACN does nothave control of 40% of SW voters undecided . Election is game of numbers

PoliticsRe: Do You Think Acn Should Kick Out Tinubu To Become A Better Opposition Party by Lagosboy: 9:09am On Apr 12, 2011
rasputinn:
Oh please be serious, how can ACN kick out Tinubu,it's very preposterous to suggest so,Tinubu is ACN and ACN is Tinubu
All that needs to be done is that his party men, especially their officials and those elected into government offices should man up and refuse to co-operate with him in stealing government funds, the money of the people(not just ACN people),the elected governors should refuse to be his rubber stamp, refuse for ONLY TINUBU to nominate commissioners for them,as he's planning to do to Fashola in Lagos(I really pity Fashola and Lagosians)

In this regard, kudos most be given to Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state for seeing the criminal and dubious intentions of Tinubu early enough and caging him as far as his influence in Ondo state goes
I salute him for that and it was for the same kind of reasons LAdoja refused to join ACN as he thinks he has been long enough in politics to now be controlled by Tinubu. Mark my words i forsee a clash between Amosun and Tinubu in the near future because Amosun had a strucutre on ground in Ogun state which was better than ACNs structure, Amosun is stupendously rich , independent minded and will not be pushed around by Tinubu.

Mimiko was very wise and kept Tinubu at bay because Mimiko won the elction on his popularity an not Tinubus popularity. The help he got was with tribunal case and maybe it was funding th elawyers of bribing appeal court judges only God knows!!
PoliticsRe: Ibb, Atiku, Ciroma & Co. Now Team Bb Players? by Lagosboy: 9:04am On Apr 12, 2011
Ciroma cannnot delievr any fair votes in his state except through rigging, CPC already won a senate seat in Niger , so i dont know the impact IBB will make. Atiku is not in control of Adamawa as we speak.

These guys are just heavyweights on paper, Buhari has kept them at bay for so long and his meeting with them now i dont know. Maybe to dismiss the perception of his percieved arrogance , these guys need him more than he needs them.

All said and done i could be wrong though
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Buhari Woo Tinubu ! by Lagosboy: 9:00am On Apr 12, 2011
Dirty politicking might come to play in the next 10 days in Nigeria. I love people power and power remaining in the hands of the people and not concentrated in one man. I would never be surprised if Tinubu cuts a deal with GEJ. However even if PDP wins this election , could we for once have a true opposition in this country and all these GNU rubbish should stop.ç

I think everyone should go to the polls and let us know who the people decide to vote for. I dont understand how any alliance will work few days to election. Will Ribadu go to all the states he campaigned in that he is stepping down? How many people will hear the news of the withdrawal few days to election.

4 days to election , I think it is all man for himself . If GEJ wins fairly then so be it.
