Like i always say many in their opposition to islam moved closer to the quran and its light illuminated their hearts and were guided to islam. Intelligent people should ponder on why conversion to islam is growing at an alarming rate in the west amidst all the negativities and terror issues. Folks shed your bias and study islam free of all your myopic views perhaps you might be guided.

May Allah send his shif'a down on him, may his ailment be a source of expiation of his sins and may he come out of the illness free from the cclouds of sins and in much better health ameen.

I wonder why Nigerians seems to be contended with mediocrity. Yes Fashola has moved in the right direction but to simply wave away the allegations aginst him is the most stupid things Nigerians are saying. Foreign leaders who do well get probed for the simlest of things go ask for the water gate scandal, clinton for perjury, and in china you get hanged for corruption.

Tinubu is a smart crook and so is Fashola in my opinion. Lagos deserves better than what we are seeing. I am no fan of Tinubu in the least but i feel he has a case against fashola if Fashola renaged on the agreement before he single handedly made him the governor. That is Nigerian politics and if you want to be a good governor or administrator go build your own political machinery and not ride on the back of a god father. That is the only way we could have a decent governor in lagos state. Probably Jimi agbaje might have been idependent enough with no baggages. Fashola's baggage is tinubu and he has to be smart enough to deal with it. Fashola in my opinion is actually a stupid politician otherwise he would have waited to get a 2nd term and then face Tinubu with nothing to lose but now he has a lot to lose. impeachment means he cannot stand for any election in lagos again.

The issue of cutting a woman’s hair is not a major sin like I said and I haven’t included it in the list. The cutting in my opinion is not the normal trimming and styling a woman does to make her look attractive to her husband but it is the shaving of hair of a woman that is discouraged with the exception of shaving due to cancer or other health reasons. Shaving falls under women not looking like men and vice versa.

The tusbah/tasbih/sibha is just an instrument to count the number of dhikr you do. It isn’t mandatory for anyone to use it as you could count on your fingers or use any other counting tool you may so wish. The important thing here is not the sibha itself but the dhikr (remeberance of God) which should be done constantly. Like I said earlier if you so wish or ask I will elaborate on the concept of dhikr in islam , underastanding it will enable you understand the use of the tasbeeh/sibha.

Prayer beads are used for remeberance of Allah (dhikr) theyare used to keep count of the celeberations of the names of Allah or his glorification. The Prophet PBUH recommended us to say after every salah

Subuhanallah 33 ce (Glory be to Allah)
Alihamdulilah 33ce (Praise be to Allah)
Allahu Akbar 33ce (Allah is great)

WE could use the prayer beads to keep count of the number or use our fingers whichever the Muslim finds easier. For me i am very forgetful  so i use the prayer beads and i love the beads. The bead is nothing except a mere tool or instrument to help keep count nothing more! no superstitious should be attached to it.

There are several other dhikr the prophet PBUH reccommended with a specific number so we use the beads to help us keep count and Allah knows what is in our heart.

Maybe we should talk about dhikr next but your rules of this thread is i only answer what you ask i remember so i will keep shut

Salaams, IFY i am indeed sorry for the late reply just been a bit busy lately. Yeah the eating of pork is indeed a sin as well and like i said the list is not exhaustive. Thanks for the observation as well and the reason i did not include it is because of the exception and principle of necessity in islam , if one is in a place and would starve to death because of no food the eating of pork will be sinless as long as it is due to necessity an the muslim is not blatantly happy eating the pork.

Cutting of a womans hair is sinful as well but is not categorized as one of the major sins.

Regarding your queries:
15. Running from the battle field in context means mutiny. The state army is in a battle specifically and not just war and the army is advancing and in the face of the enemy and the a muslim instead of protecting the army and his duties runs away. He would have betrayed his colleagues, his duty , his commander and his God. In modern army as well it is a grave offence of which the soldier is thrown in jail , in the UK few soldiers have been imprisoned for such crimes. Islam is not just a religion confined to the mosques but it is a complete system in fact that deals with economy, politics, military, international relations and a host of things.

33. Yeah it means dressing and appearance and that is one of the reason shaving of hair for a woman is wrong. Use of ear rings for men and related things. This is also subject to the culture of the society as the earing of skirt by a Scottish Muslim will not be a sin as that is the culture, it only becomes wrong if the skirt is above his knee as in Islam unclothedness is from the navel to the knee. I hope you understand my point.

58. This means there is an ogun festival in the yoruba towns and they slaughter a cow for ogun (god of iron) that animal is haram to eat as it has been slaughtered for an idol. When Muslims slaughter an animal we mention the name of Allah on the animal to butress the fact that it is a mercy from God to have given us power and subdued this animal for us to slaughter for food. If he wanted he could give the animal power over us as we are both his creatures.

49. We can definitely mourn in Islam , mourning becomes a sin when it turns to extreme wailing. A calamity happens and a woman runs to the street tears her cloth apart and start to curse God or blaspheme God for causing her to face such calamity. That will become a sin.

57. That was merely an academic inclusion, slavery has been abolished except a Mauritania you are right and it is not really relevant here.

I think its a case of anything in life, there are always exceptions. internet or physical meeting both is not a gurrantee to successfull marriage neither is it a gateway to a bad marriage either. whoever your wives or your wife will be , will be even if it is on the molue you will meet her.

@all - do you think or believe through internet one can find a compactable spouse, there are many things one need to consider if you want a long lasting relationship, this is what my view is.

I have seen not one, not two successful marriages from the internet here in the UK btw nigerians even. One of my good friend married few years back with kid now , he met his wife thru the net.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Re: the waiting peiod (of either the divorce or death). The reason for the wait is to allow enuf time to make sure that the woman is not pregnant before the divorce/death . So that there will not be any story/rumor about legitimate/illegitimate child later on.

You are right one of the reasons is to detect pregnancy as three menstrual cycle is enough to indicate this and Allah even talked in reference to them not concealing pregnancy. You are very right Aunty Fayzik, and i am clapping for you another reason is to give the couple a chance to come together again as divorce is always a last resort but the marriage has to be given every chance to succeed.

If Americans are now afraid that the terrorism they spent billions of dollars promoting in other regions of the world is coming to meet them on American soil, then they should rethink and redirect their military technology and strategies into something that will safeguide life and not destroy it.

The Chinese spent 300 years building their great wall against external invasion but when it was defiled it came through internal invasion. Their enemies just simply compromised the gate keepers to keep the gate open for them to enter. The effect the great wall failed to stop the invaders from killing them enmasse.

Americans are deluding themselves by creating a "Watch List" or a "NO Fly List" against some countries and groups and individuals. Nigeria and Nigerians is just added. I will be alive to watch the list grow to a number that will make America see every other country as haven of terrorism and terrorists. Then America will know that it has become a dung gatherer. A dung gatherer does nothing but gathers dung on its head.

I dont and will never support terrorism but to label one a terrorist while America engages in the worst terrorist acts against other nations is the most laughable thing in the world. USA is going the way of ROME. I use to think they have a lot of knowledge in that enclave.

I do not only concur with you brilliant speech i feel like eating the words because it is sweet to eat. This has been my campaign on NL in the face of the recent terrorism scare. Body scanners will not solve anything, do people ever think that every time a rule is passed terrorist simply develop a new style. First it was shoe bomb, we had to remove our shoes and pass it through a scanner, then it was liquid bomb , every liquid was banned on planes, now it is powder bomb which and body scanners are implemented. It is interesting to not the wholesale producers of this body scanners are Israeli companies, somebody s got to make the money.

Each scanners cost like £100,000 somebody do the maths by multiplying by the countries of the world with each airport having at least 3 scanners plus maintenance fees and replacement.

Please do work up the nerves , May Allah ease your burden, please keep reciting those surah after each salah continuously till your burden is eased. You could recite them 3 times after every salah as the Prophet PBUH used to recommend some dhikr three times.

With all humility, I am not the one to be lectured about the history of the caucuses of Russia. Your allegetion has no correlation here, there is nothing political about this, a baby was born and verses of the quran finds it way on the boys body every friday. You have no proof for saying someone is writing on the baby, on the contrary there are numerous independent verifications of the baby to confirm it is a mystery.

Dagestan or no dagestan it is not relevant here in the least. This kind of signs appear in different places of the world. Lets deal with issues objectively please. Like i said you are entitled to your beliefs and you don't have to believe the quran is from God. Even if the verses are from the devil , a mystery remains a mystery that is the bottom line here.
