ifyalways:The creation started with Adam and Eve was created thereafter. They lived in paradise before they were sent to earth due to them eating the forbidden fruit. God is the creator of Adam and he breathed his soul into Adam and then commanded the angels and Shaiytan so bow to Adam. This prostration was not because of Adams knowledge neither was it because of his superiority as many people (muslims and non muslims alike) but because Allah breathed his spirit into Adam. This story is wide but let me also add that the mould of Adam had existed before in Paradise and the angels and jinn knew it and recognized it but only became human when Allah breathed into him the soul. Adam is the first human created on earth he cannot be said to be the first human like or animal created as there are other human like creatures in heavens created by Allah even before Adam. Adam PBUh is our father and all generations of humans on earth stem from him and Eve. And God knows best. |
dexmond:the prophet PBUH never ordered to kill jews otherwise there will not be a single jew in Medinah under the authority of islam. The jews will not have found sanctuary under the islamic govts for 1200 years in turkey, spain, and north Africa. The prophet PBUH will never have had any interaction with a jew of which he financial transaction with them and even borrowed money from them. It is a long term myth and misconception about islam. The hadith exists and it is authentic but its interpretation is there will be a war between the muslims and some of the jews and killings are bound to occur in wars. This prophecy is already happening as in the last 60 odd years the has been a war of which the end is no where in sight. |
ifyalways:Would inshallah answer you shortly just been damn busy |
dexmond:The black stone is of absolute no significance in terms of worship. It only has a historical significance in that Abraham PBUH used it as a height in building the kaaba and also used it as a corner stone mark. The stone was left because it was never an idol but a historical landmark. |
what is wrong with Nigerians or should i say lagosians. Why are we so contended with mediocrity i must say we are our own problems. We have this mentality that it is ok to steal as long as you perform. Theft is theft , Inflation of contract is a criminal offence in any court of law. These allegations are grave and not to be taken lightly. It is ridiculous how people attack the personality making the posts rather than tackle the issues at hand. What is the different between Fashola and Yaradua in terms of corruption ? What is the difference between Tinubu and Ibori in terms of corruption absolute no difference as it is the same kind of looting and stuff. I have real inside info regarding the Lagos land beauru and that place is a stench on the level of NNPC. The allegation of Tinubu signing and back dating is an imprisonable offence in a court of law. This is not a time we have to say it is PDP people raising this stuff but let us look at the substance of the allegation. I am a lagosian to the bone and will never wish to see PDP win Lagos but this AC rogues are no better , it is only a matter of time before the shepard rises to lead his flock to the promise land God willing. |
afam4eva:This issue is deeply beyond majority . The south is north a united entity , the south consist of various ethnic groups. I am from the SW and no one can call the SW a christian majority liekwise no one can call the SS or SE muslim majority. Percentage wise i agree the south is christian majority but the south is not one entity like it is being simpliefied to appear. The middle belt is largely christian but considered north now tell me if they will ever want to be a minority in a muslim dominated northern state. Our unity as Nigerians is a blessing in disguise which we will never appreciate until we break up. We could successfully have an igbo state and yoruba state but the middlebelt, SS states will never be able to have a unified country as none of this region is homogenous tribewise. Muslim north and christian south is being over simplisitic and that is where the problem lies. |
I will not support her. I want Wole soyinka to be INEC head and let us see how the social critic will perform. |
If this news is true this is the peak of selfishnes. A breakup will involve chaos humanitarian disaster , displaced people, desease outbreak and all this idiot called obama and his pentagon could think of is a military intervention to protect flow of oil rather than peacekeeping to save lives and restore order. It is high time we work hard to save our unity than let outsiders break us apart. I wonder how many states will we break into , how would a break up help platue state that has mix of ethnicity , i wonder how a break up will favor Benue state or where Edo state will go. Nigeria is does not comprise of igbo hausa yoruba like these foreigners presume. Nigeria is not a muslim north and christian south like the ghadaffi thinks. The north has large amount of chrisitans and the south has large amt of muslims especially in the south west which has some states with muslim majority. Let us unite as Nigerians as a break up will never pay us IMO. |
IMO he his the biggest diassapointment in Nigeria football lately. My expectation of the guy was so great especially when Nigerians cvompared him to Messi after the 2005 WC. He has been a complete average player at chelsea nothing more. perhaps if he had gone to Man U or Arsenal (no sentiments attached) he MIGHT have been a great player. |
Why the topic Muslim dictator. Whoever is responsible for puttting posts on the front page Seun or whoever is simply sensitising the already crazy islamophobia on NL. The actual topic poster used the name Ghadafii but whoever put it on the front page used a ridiculous title. As a muslim i strongly object to the front page title. Everyone knows Ghadaffi as Ghadaffi call a spade a spade dont fuel religious divisions. |
Illusion good question and I will answer inshallah. Al Massih let me first clarify does not mean saviour, redeemer, liberator but rather it means the “anointed.”. You see majority of the “errors” of modern Christianity started from the language errors and errors in translation and this is where the beauty of Islam lies. Islam has always retained the original language source so as not to give room for misinterpretation and erroneous translation. Christianity did not start in English , neither was it Greek nor Hebrew Jesus spoke Aramaic which is the closest language to Arabic and a dialect of Arabic. In Aramaic and Hebrew “masiha” means nothing but anointed. In Arabic it means the same anointed. Anointed in Greek means “christos” and translating to English it means Christ. My good pal illusion this is the origin of the name Jesus Christ I just explained to you. Anointed could mean the chosen one but never saviour, redeemer or liberator from a language perspective. It is only later generation of chrisitan that interchanged the word to mean saviour and sorts. Your question of who is he saving does not hold here as the foundation of that question is based on the word Al massih and I have broken that word down to you. Good pal there is no contradiction about Jesus PBUH in islam Now back to the ranking. As muslims we do not make a competition between the prophets of God neither do we make distinction we love them all and adore them all. The issue of which is 1st or 2nd is a non issue in islam as they were sent at different times and different purposes. Jesus was sent and in islam we believe he told his followers of someone to come after him the quran mention this in Q61 v 6 ” . . . . . .whose name shall be Ahmad” . I repeat here Jesus PBUH is our beloved and I urge you not to be like jews whom out of their excessive love for Moses PBUH never believed in Jesus PBUh and so the Christians as well out of their excessive love for Jesus do not believe in Muahmmad PBUH. We believe in them all and follow them all. |
Jazakallah Jarus for the post i was trying to find it for IFY earlier on. Lets hope the thread return to decorum. |
agabaI23:Honestly your bolded comments has no reply in my opinion otherwise what will be the point in trying to explain to someone that thinks relgious analysis is like chelsea/arsenal game in the words of my pal illusion. How on earth would someone say by trying to establish my faith is from GOD i am implicitly calling all other faiths falshood. Do you not see the section you are in, do you not see theo origin of the thread ? do you not see the title of the thread "curious abt islam, facts abt islam" ? My guy just take advise from Jarzinho my time is to precious to me to engage in discussions with you. You never asked a question you asked and concluded that your question was the origin of lies in islam. Tell me how that fits into an intellectual discourse? asking and concluding? I repeat go ask your questions elsewhere i am at liberty to answer questions of my choice. Iam sure IFY is not happy with the direction of this thread at the moment. "idile ti o ba n toro omo ale ibe o ti dagba ni" This is a famous yoruba saying please do not be the one to derail this wonderful thread and take the advice of my good friend Jarzinho @Jarzinho its been a long time u have been here why the silence ![]() |
agabaI23:Please from your first post on this thread at the very begining , one could depict your intentions but the thread has proven to be successful praise be to God. There is no where i have said your faith is all lies so please dont use that phrase "you guys" name names. Please I only answer queries of genuine people like IFY, Illusion, Jarzinho and other intelligent and civil christians. Please go ask your questions on another thread or better still create a new one. moderator pls take note |
ayettymama: ayettymama:Lady!! If you read this thread from page 1 you will realise everyone posting has been civil in their approach to sensitive religious issues. I only mainly contribute to posts on two threads in this section because i like to avoid trading words and debating with sub intelligent and close minded people. Please i urge you to be civil in your posts or you could take your grudge and questions to another thread where you could find answers with like minded people. To say the quran is insulting depicts you level of exposure and knowledge of the quran and bible alike. This thread is probably one of the most successful threads in this section please do not be the cancer that will affect this thread i urge you with utmost respect to your person. |
Ok ify i know th ehadith but the quranic reference of 1 v33 seems incoreect as Q1 has only 7 verses could you verify the chapter again and i can inshallah answer the question |
ifyalways:i missed it. pls quote it again |
Ify hhmmm regarding Jinn this is another wide topic but let me try to explain and i might direct you to a thread on here on NL regarding this is well. Jinn are another creatures of Allah similar in some ways to human beings. In english we can call them spirits. they have muslims among them and non muslims alike, the disbelievers among them are called shayatin "devils" as they are instruments of satan himself to cause atrocities. The quran addresses humans and Jinns alike and an example is " We have not created men and Jinns for nothing except for worship" Q51 v 56. llah has enlightened us on the subject of Jinn through the seventy second (72nd) Surah Surah Al-Jinn, revealed late in Makkah and various other aayaat in the Holy Qur’aan. The Holy Qur’aan reveals that Jinn are created from fire whereas the human beings are created from clay. Although they are invisible to human eyes, the jinn can see us. Like human beings they are also entrusted with responsibilities (careers, family life, etc.). They too will be rewarded for their righteousness and will receive punishment for their wickedness. “And among us ( the Jinns ) there are the righteous folk and among us there are far from that; we are sects having different rules.” (71:11) The existence of the Jinn is firmly established by the Qur?an and the authentic Sunnah and the consensus of the Scholars (Ijma?) It suffices to say that the word Jinn and its derivatives occur more than 29 times in the Qur?an. A related word ?shaytan? and its plural ?shaytana? together occur more than 80 times. In fact, there is an entire Surah called Surah Al-Jinn, which speaks in clear explicit terms about the Jinn. The reality which we have to affirm is that the Jinn live in an established world unseen to us. They eat and drink, and procreate. Similar to Humans, some are righteous while others are not. The Jinn were created before the creation of mankind. There origin is from fire. The Qur?an verified these facts in Surah Al-Hijr: ?And verily, We created mankind from sounding clay of altered smooth mud and the jinn We created from smokeless fire.? Qur?an 15:26-27 The creation was also reported by Ibn Abbas (ra): ?Two thousand years before (mankind) was created, there were Jinn on (the Earth), and they caused corruption on it and shed blood. Then Allah sent against them a troop of Angels who beat them and cast them away to islands in the seas. So, when Allah said: ?I am placing (mankind) generations after generations on Earth,? They (the Angels) said, ?Will You place therein one who will cause corruption and shed blood? (Al Baqarah, 2:30), That is: Just as those Jinn did?? Then Allah said: ?I know that which you do not know.?? Al-Hakim We can not ordinarily see the Jinn, unless they take a material form, which is usually in an unpleasant or ugly form such as a snake or a black dog, as opposed to angels who take pleasant and handsome forms. They can also take a human form. For example: In the battle of Badr, a kind of Jinn known as Ibliss, assumed the form of a man named Suraqah Ibn Malik, and urged the disbelievers to move forward to the battle, saying: ?There is none who can overcome you today? Qur?an 8:48 Then Al lah sent the Angel Jibreel against him and when Ibliss saw him, he cried out to the disbelievers: ?I have nothing to do with you ! I see that which you do not see ! I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in retribution,? and then he fled. There are 3 types of Jinn as described in the following authentic Hadith: The Prophet Muhammed (saws) said: ?There are 3 types of Jinn; One type flies through the air, another type consists of snakes and dogs. A third is based in one place but travels about.? Tabarani and Buhaqi Jinni:Is a term used by the Arabs to refer to one Jinn. The 3 types of Jinn are as follows: 1 Amir: (Resident Jinn) used to mean that he is one of those who lives with people. 2 Shaytan: Used for a Jinni who is malicious and has become wicked. 3 Ifrit: Used for a Jinni who is stronger and more powerful than a Shaytan. The way of life for the Jinn is just like Human Beings. For Example: they are accountable for their actions, just as Human Beings are. |
ifyalways:# This is a popular myth about islam, IFY By Allah in whose hand is my soul , there is no verse in the quran that says a disbeliever should convert to islam otherwise he shall be killed. in fact the quran says "There is no compulsion in religion". If this was the case there will not be jews and christian living in the islamic state in Medina under the command of the Prophet PBUH, there will be no treaty between the Prophet and the polytheist of Makkah. The jews will not have found sanctuary under the rule of islam for several centuries when they were persecuted in europe and beyond. In fact if you read history of spain and the spanish inquisition to be precise , you will discover that it was some christians who forced muslims to either convert to Christianity or be killed. Even in our Nigeria our parents tell us about the missionaries forcing them to convert and change their names from muslim names otherwise they will not receive western education. This is not to castigate christianity in anyway but some elements among the faith engaged in this anomaly. Some muslims as well have this erroneous notion about either any deisbeliever should be killed but it is totally wrong and has no place in our faith. |
ifyalways:Yeah we are awaiting the comming of Jesus PBUH , according to Prophet Muhammad PBUH Jesus shall come back and his comming signifies the end of the world. He will kill the anti christ (Dajjal), he will break the cross, he will lead muslims in prayers and will eventually die because he never died before but was raised up to the heavens. The quran says "Every soul shall taste death" and so the words of God will not be fulfilled if he doesnt die as he his a special soul among the souls of human beings a prophet , a messenger and our beloved PBUH. Ify this is a wide an extensive subject in islam and we have to take it slowly to explain the above is just a summary. |
hey ify good to catch you online let me answer u str8 away inshallah |
agabaI23:With all humility and due respect, if you have nothing worthwhile and intelligent to contribute to this thread sparing us your presence shall be greatly appreciated. |
mukina2:and me too ![]() Gud to have u back , i was asking after u the sistas thread the otha day |
illusion2:In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful I agree to an extent with the first part of your posts regarding mutual respect based on brotherhood of humanity. I do agree and believe our differences in beliefs should not threathen our co existence and a look at history will inidcate that during the glorious years of Islamic caliphacy muslims and non muslims lived in peaceful co existence albeit under the state of islam. Even when the muslims had upper hand absolute respect was given to the weaker people christians and jews. A look at history will show us Ali (RA) charged a jew to court for theft of his shield (one of the first documented cases of court charge in our world), Ali was the head of state but did not have any evidence to prove his case and the judge ruled in favor of the jew in an islamic state ! This sense of justice and high level enlightenment amazed the Jew and he confessed he actually stole the sheild and accepted islam thereafter. It is a shame it is this same islam that is now the most misunderstood religion in the world , little thanks to many muslims ourselves who have done little to help islam with our behavior. Now to the second part of your post regarding certainity, knowledge and believe. This is a highly age old philosophical concept and falls under a subject called "Ilm kalam" in islamic sciences. Firstly i will like to state you have to have knowledge before you believe , believe without knowledge is not a belief but just mere self deceit, We are expected to believe without doubt in islam as one of the conditions of the shahadah, this absolute belief stems from nothing except knowledge and that is why Allah said in a hadith qudsi "Know me before you worship me" And that is why Allah also says in the quran " Fa'alamu annahu la ilaha illa lah" meaning " Then know there is no deity except ALLah" the know here does not mean one should just know but the deep arabic meaning is one should learn/study the shahadah "la ilaha illa lah". Knowledge is power and knowledge is light and that is why Allah talked about the believers and said in Q49 " The believers are ONLY those who believe in Allah and his messenger and thereafter do not doubt . . . . " Now going to issues relating to the hereafter like paradise and hell, no one has been there and came back to tell apart from Prophet Muhammad PBUH in the isra wal miraj "the night of ascension". We believe in it from our absolute belief in the quran and in Allah the author of the quran. Belief in it is part of the conditions of faith and we should never doubt but belief with 100% certainty. However where i disagree with people or might agree with you to an extent is people who condemn others to the hell fire and say with certainty to others, "you are going to the hell fire". God did not give the keys of hell fire to anyone and the ability and jidgement to put anyone there solely lies with the creator himself and not us. Anyone saying such jargon be it Muslim or otherwise does not know where he/she will end up himself. The general belief is yes the believers will go to paradise and the disbelievers will go to the hell fire according to the qur'an and we believe in it 100%. However no one should categorically say an individual is destinied for the fire/paradise because Allah alone is the master of the day of Judgement. I will finish with one hadith of the prophet PBUH "The bankrupt of my Ummah is he who would come on the Day of Judgment with prayers, fasting, and zakah; but who had offended one person, slandered another, devoured others' wealth, shed the blood of this person, and beat that person." (Muslim) Each one of these people would be given some of the wrongdoer's good deeds. If his good deeds fall short of settling the account, then their sins will be taken from their accounts and thrown into his account, and he would be thrown in the Hellfire. Imagine this kind of individual case who thinks his good deeds is enought to take him to paradise but the right of others supercede this and the individual might end up in the fire. Illusion I really want to know your reasons for not being a Muslim because i will like to call you to the path to success and bliss. I will not condemn you for being a christian Never and i have never done to people but i will like you to take the path of wisdom, rational thinking, scientific facts and path of honor in worshiping your creator without associating partners with him, to believe in Jesus PBUH as God sent and not part of a divine group , to accept Prophet Muhammad PBUH as th last and final messenger, to perform the salah like all the prophets did including Jesus even in the bible, to pay the zakah , to fast in ramdhan and live your life in submission to your lord in whose hands is your soul. |
illusion2:To be a Muslim you have to say “There is no go but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger” If you would like to add and Jesus is his messenger there is no issue with it as if you disbelieve in Jesus PBUH you are not a Muslim anyway. On the contrary you cannot be a Muslim if you simply say “there is no god but Allah and Jesus is his messenger” because you have not accepted Muhammad PBUH the last prophet of Allah. We Muslim believe in all the prophets and messengers and we do not make distinction between them. I also noticed Muslims do not regard God as their father like Jesus (your second greatest prophet),why? This is something I like to avoid on this thread, biblical analysis/comparative analysis, because I just like to focus on Islam and whoever gets convinced can accept it. Although Allah blessed me with some detailed knowledge of the bible I don’t like to delve into it as experience of NL tells me it is a vicious cycle. Regarding the father, there is what we call metaphorical speech, Jesus referring to God as the father is 100% metaphoric nothing more. We Muslims do not call God our father because we do not want to make the same mistakes the Christians made by thinking we are all children of God and Jesus PBUH is the begotten son of God. We find it honorable to call ourselves slaves of God as we are in his bondage; we are nothing but pen in the hands of God. He can use us to do anything without our permission and that is servitude to God. The quran referred to us as slaves of God and we are honored to in fact be slaves of God and not animals and not Jinns. |
uplawal: FayeZik:To omo dara o ye ki a so, to omo ba soro ti o dara o ye ki a so. Nana spoke well nah , uplawal na im make i jump on the post By the way where is sis ayinba she has been silent on this post, also where is sis zayhal she has not been here for a while , mukina sef don run away. Aunty Fayzik you are right though if it is done the proper way it would go the right way. |
ifyalways:In the name of Allah the most gracious, most merciful Ify No prayer is said in any prophets name in islam, we only say prayers in Gods name the lord of we and the prophets themselves. No prophet said any prayer in their name but the all said prayers in the name of God himself. Ant that is why when Jesus PBUH performed any miracle he said " in the name of my father . . . stand up/ get healed . . . ." That is why every single chapter apart from 1 in the quran start with "in the name of God the gracious the merciful" . Allah said when we want to call on him the quran he says "Invoke Allâh or invoke the Most Beneficent (Allâh), by whatever name you invoke Him (it is the same), for to Him belong the Best Names. And offer your Salât (prayer) neither aloud nor in a low voice, but follow a way between" Q17 v 110 Praying in any human name be it prophet or messenger , is deemed associating partners with God and the gravest sin in islam which is shirk. Regarding the testimony of faith shadah which you mentioned , we mention Muhammeds PBUH name because he was the last messenger and the quran came to confirm all that came before it. We cannot mention every single prophet of God in the testimony as that will be an endless testimony but not mentioning their names does not make them less important as desbelieveing in any of them nullifies your testimony of faith. The difference ebetween a muslim and a jew or christian is the acceptance of Prophet Muhammed and that is one of the significance of his name in the testimony of faith. If you want to add the statement i believe in Jesus PBUH as the prophet of God, when you declare your shahadah that is absolutely fine and no issues with that as well. Jesus is the 2nd greatest prophet of God , our beloved Eesah who would come back and his comming back signifies the end of time. We love him tremendously, we believe in him, in his miracles and he had many unique qualites that other prophets did not have. Indeed may the peace of God be on him Jesus. |
Nanai:Impressive!! May Allah strengthen your eeman and principles , if many of our sisters were like this , many sisters will not be unmarried at 30 plus. I have seen many sisters saying they can never be a 2nd wife and wait till 30 sumthin and start to shop around for a 2nd wife slot. Apologies to our my dear and beloved sisters in the house but this is the reality of the world we live in.Allah in his infinite wisdom made a way out, but little thanks to many men as well who dont have a clue how it should be practised and have caused more harm than good. |
I find it amazing that no one has dared to consider the allegations of multiple taxations and extortion. We all know thi sis rife in Nigeria how come we all read tribal sentiments into every issue. The future of a one Nigeria is shaky i fear. Mobinga:The internet is free but you should not exhibit your mentality here as it leaves a bad taste in the mouth buddie. |
ElRazur:You will be caught on the day not even a later date. Their records are one and the same. Bigamy is a crime here in the UK @poster dont try to ever play a fast one . once you are married you are married you have to divorce before a 2nd marriage officially. |
COE wedding is legally binding and no need for registry marriage. The COE sends their recors to the local registrar for update. |
