Aliahmdulilah i am well !! I have just been extremely busy lately. How have u been as well and hope the whole family is doing good. |
IFY should I assume all your curiosity has been satisfied? |
zayhal:With all due respect to bro iwaboy and maximum respect and honour to Shaikh Uthaiymeen Rahimullah. I do disagree with the opinion above. The 2 Religious Eid in islam are religious celeberation commemorating the finish of 2 pillars in islam. The end of ramadhan is Eid al fitr and the end of hajj is eid al adha. However there are several occassions when muslim could celeberate anything they wish in accordance to the shariah of Allah. A walimatu al Naikkah is a celeberation, Graduating from an instititution be it islamic university or secular knowldge and the graduant invites people to eat and spread love amongst muslims is a celeberation. A brother got promotion at work and wants to show appreciation to Allah invites masakin to his home and feeds them in a feast is a celeberation and so on . . , The prophet PBUH used to fast on mondays as a mark and his way of celeberating his birthday The prophet PBUH asked us to fast on ashura to commemorate the saving of musa and bani israil. A husband gives a gift to his wife on their wedding annivasery and goes out on dinner with her to spread love and remember the favours of Allah upon them is a way of acknowledging the mercy of Allah upon them on that day. Perhaps we should establish that acknowledgment of an event could be or not be celeberation but different people acknowledge events in different way. In as much as no haraam is committed in acnowledging or celebrating then there is no problem with the act. We should never forget that in muamaulat everything is halaal until a verse or hadith proves it haraam and not the other way round. As far as i know there is no single hadith or verse that could be interpolated to say acknowledging the day of marriage is haraam or even makru. Love should be spread all the time I accept but nothing wrong in increasing the love on this day. And God knows best. |
illusion2:Yeah i meant should ![]() Regarding amputation of hands that is a quranic injuction to prevent theft but with strict conditions attached to it. My support or view is insignificant as regards this when the quran talks we do not have a contrary view all our difference in opinion is regarding the application. If were to achieve utopian heights of poverty eradication, there will be no need for anyone to steal N5 that is the whole idea. There are rulings that exists in principle but the application is bloody difficult. Amputation falls into that category. right now IMO govt officials that steal public funds are the ones that can have the hands chopped off as they have no need to steal. IF a man steals N5 due to hunger he should be given food for 1 year rather than serve any punishment under the shariah. I hope you get my point. |
zayhal:Thanks sis , you also disappeared for some time ![]() |
Good pal I have said it on here several times. No thief can have his hand amputated in Nigeria. The punishment in the quran for a thief is amputation yes but with conditions. There has to be social justice in a society before a thiefs habd could be chopped off. social justice i mean poverty has to have been reduced to near zero percent, the zakah system must have been implemented in totality and rights of the poor must have been fulfilled. Islamic governance is a total system and its policies complement each other. We cannot implement one and leave out the other. The amputation in Zamfara is an unfortunate incident stemming from lack of proper understanding of islam. I am for shariah system 100% but the capital punishment in shariah cannot be implemented in any society before social justice. When i say i am for sharia 100% i mean i want to see social justice, poverty eradication, economic liberation, moral uprightnes, implementation of the zakah system which is fulfilling the rights of the poor in the society. It is a shame people have reduced the understanding of shariah to mean amputation and forgotten about the main purpose of the shariah. In Islamic jurisprudence we call it " maqasid al shariah" which is the higher purpose of the law. I finish with the words of ibn Qayyum "Shariah is based on wisdom and acheiving peoples welfare in this life and the afterlife. Shariah is all about justice, mercy, wisdom and good. Thus, any ruling that replaces justice with injustice , mercy with its opposite, comon good with mischief, or wisdom with nonsense, is a ruling that does not belong to the shariah, even if it is claimed to be so according some interpretations." i'lam muwaqieen. |
On the issue of global warming and environment in islam. Firstly Allah says in the qur'an, Q40v 57. "The creation of the heavens and the earth is indeed greater than the creation of mankind, yet most of mankind know not." The creation of the heavens and earth is a sign of Gods greatness and Allah has made the earth conducive for us to live in as he said in the qur'an Q2 v21 "O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allâh), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqûn Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you" From the verses above we realise that the favours and mercies of God on us in this world are abundant and it is actually a trust for us which we have to treat wih care. From the understanding of this concept we relise the environment we live in was modified by Allah for us to be able to survive in it, astronomy has confirmed the verse of the quran in this regards as we know other planets are not suitable to live in for humans and that is why Allah said in that verse specifically "made the earth resting place" which means inhabitable. It will be interesting to note here in arabic the word used was "ja'ala" which means to modify,to transform . The understanding of this word in arabic makes us realise why Allah did not use "khalaq" which means create and the verse was not "created the earth as a resting place". The earth was created like other planets but was then made inhabitable for Man. In islam anything we are entrusted with we have to care about and take good care of it, the environment is a trust on us and as mslims we have to take good care of it in whatever way we can. From reducing green house gases, to cutting of trees to various things. The prophet of islam PBUH prohibited the cutting of trees during wars or cutting of trees indiscrimatory, now this was an environmental legislation 1429 years ago before any Kyoto protocol which butresses the completenes of Islam as a complete way of life or system. The Prophet PBUH further said in another Hadith : "The earth has been created for me as a mosque and a means of purification" Bukhari 1 : 331 This means the earth is a sacred place and should be treated with sanctity and respect. The heavens nd earth are creatures of Allah as well and deserve respect because the heavens and earth glorify Allah so how would we humans not treat them with regard a 44nd care as they have been entrusted to us. The quran confirms this in Q17 v 44 "The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving Additionally, we have been given lots of resources from nature by Allah and he stressed it in the qur'an like the verses below: Q56 63. Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 64. Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 65. Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 66. (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramûn (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubî, Vol. 17, Page 219] 67. "Nay, but we are deprived!" 68. Tell Me! The water that you drink. 69. Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 70. If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allâh)? 71. Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 72. Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 73. We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 74. Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. Allah has prefferred human beings to other creaturs and he made nature and animal subservient to us not because of our physical strength but by granting us high intelligence and intellect. We have to use our intellect to protect our environment not harm it. And God knows best |
illusion2:I have addressed the issue a long time back wait . . . i will dig the page out and re post it here. As regards Yerima I dont have much to say as i dont really like to discuss personalities. |
My beloved people alihamdulilah i am well and good. I do appreciate the d concern about my disappearance illusion my good pal I am back inshallah and apologies for my AWOL. IFY I must say has been the one that dragged me back here (I wish her the best of blessings and Gods mercy). I will honestly say the non muslims have been the one that enquired about me the and contacted me as to my disappearance. I suppose inshallah our Q/A could continue IFY over to you and illusion your queries would be welcomed. You never know you might find yourself making sujud to the lord of the world soonest ![]() |
@Frosbel This is is not to attack your personality i beg of you but honestly you can use your God given intelligence better than this Dr. Mutallab groomed extreme Muslim businesses in Saudi Arabia, He has extreme business in Dubai and he has extreme religious business in Yemen and he has business and property in Yemen. Alhaji Mutallab is the owner of the only Islamic Bank in Nigeria, Alhaji Mutallab has ties and interest in almost all the extremist muslim religious groups in Nigeria. He is a top leader of the Sharia movement COUNCIL in Nigeria. This guy is dangerous and he has gotten it hot and thats why he is running from pillar to post because he destroyed Nigeria with his corrupt ways and his muslim jihadist ideas for long time. What does extreme business mean ? i know you are anti islam but at least use some intelligence when you are attacking islam you do not need to stoop this low as no one will ever take you seriously again. Lets not turn this into an issue of religion. You create a post with religious undertone and you go on to say let us not turn this to religion. You just make me laugh. Has anyone forced you to put your money in an islamic bank? If not what is your problem then? |
Thumbs up on this one , i cannot forget the day in 2004 when Tony Blair flew to Gaddafis tent in Libya to go shake his hand . The same mad dog Ghadaffi Tacther and Raegan called a mad dog and tried to assasinate. This guy really has some good part and he wins my respect on his no nonsense attitude. |
felele:Egba mi o , kai these people have wrecked lagos state. The greed of man is indeed insatiable. Nothing will ever be sufficient for man except the sand he will be covered in his grave. How many children does Tinubu have that wants to inherit all these loot. It is a big shame and the man has no shame. Some of these story like the gas network thingy I never knew about before. But Felele let us stop giving Fashola excuses or making one for him. The only difference between him and his boss is that he has more action and seemingly doing some work but Felele in terms of looting and shady smart stealing they are one and the same. I know people who work closely with Fashola and it is all the same familiar stories. Fashola was chief of staff when tinubu was amassing the whole of lekki for himself if he was a saint he would have quit govt on principle basis. There is hardly any clean politician and so Tinubu and Fashola are both messy IMO and Lagos deserves better. There are several people that if give the opportunity will out perform Fashola and make his achievement look like nothing if given the chance. Before 2007 Donald duke, Tinubu and former Gombe state governor might have qualified for the best performing governors but Fashola made Tinubus modest achievement like nothing. Lagos is different to other states so the comparison in terms of performance is uncalled for, let the praise of Fashola stop I recommend!! |
hymen:Justification from the book, is not really the issue here as if a man will cheat he will cheat. If a man will take a second wife he would,. Yerima as an example is within his rights to marry whosever he wishes but i would really like to verify the girl is really 13 as i find it hard to believe he would. OBJ, Bode Geroge, Akala all have several wives and would claim to be christians and would justify it from the African culture. My point is buddie you might just be happy with a muslim man and find comfort in your heart as he would respect you, honour you give you your rights, you dont have to change your name, clothe you, feed you ,house you, protect you, love you, support you emotionally and he will not be doing you a favour by that but only giving you your right. ![]() |
hymen:Never say never buddie Marrying a christian as well is no guarantee to have a monogamous marriage and marrying a muslim does not translate into polygamy. I am from a muslim home and my dad has only had one wife my mum in the last 40 years. What you should hope and pray for is a successfull marriage and happy home and not just a monogamous marriage. One could be the only wife but the husband has tens of girlfriends that would forever give the woman headache. |
frosbel:Although i have never replied to any of your posts due to obviou sreasons i just felt sometimes lies should never be left to stay. Could you name one suicide attacks charge that has been brought against the accused not even prosecution and could you name any country he his wanted for the charge as well. I just want one as you even said worldwide. Note that i am in no way saying i agree with Faisals teachings but one doesnt need to lie to substanitate an arguement. |
felele:Ye paripa Fashola and the governor general don kill us finish o. Nobody can tell me Fashola is not benefiting from this project. Felele is high time you consider going into politics Lagos needs sincere lagosians to move us foward. |
violent:It is called a wonderful innovation in the booming industry of corruption in Nigeria. PDP,AC are all birds of the same feathers. Thieves rogues and fraudsters!!! |
joeyfire:Oh my God June 2010 and they will use the motorist money to fund the rehabilitation. Gosh Fashola and Tinubu are both super rogues |
desgiezd:EFCC is probably looking the other way thanks to the billion Tinubu allegedly paid to her when she came in. |
I repeat again the level of intellectual depth in our youths is unfortunate and at the sound of the word Islamic everyone puts their intellect under their feet and forget they have a common sense. Otherwise what has dubai got to do with 1 islamic bank in Nigeria to give people a choice when at least 20 conventional banks have collapsed with peoples money in the last 25 yrs in Nigeria. Someone says what has religion got to do with banking perhaps you want to check what ethical banking is understand what risk sharing finance and interest free banking is. This is not a place to talk religion I would not get dragged into it. What has Sanusi’s Islamic degree got to do with this? Did Soludo study with Bin laden to approve Jaiz Islamic bank? Somebody please tell me. This is a matter of choice if you like it put your money there and if you like go dig out defunct societe general and put your money there. What is anyone’s beef with Islamic bank. |
hymen:Buddie the issue is not simplisitic even in yoruba culture there is a popular saying "obinrin ko lesin" a woman does not have a religion i.e she takes up the religion of her husband. A man is a dominant factor in a relationship and can coerce his wife to do many things. Islam intends to protect muslim women and want them to live under the matrimonial justice and guidance of islam. If they live outside the room for guidance then it is at their own risk and whatever injustice, abuse and all sorts meted out to them by men is their handiwork. On the reverse if a muslimw oman suffers these ill treatment at the hand of a muslim he could be taken to the muslims court and she could get justice. It is all about protecting our beloved sisters and a guidance from above. We love our women , we honor them , they are our mothers, we rever them and cherish our wonderful women. |
Buddy i am at work and cant read your article now but for you to say The fact of the matter is, sharia is flawed and sharia or Islamic banking is even more flawed.I am not here to debate with you on shariah buddie and i will not steer the debat in that direction. I also dont want to debate or islamic bank is the best or is the worst as i have no time for that. Buddie the simple thing is islamic banking is optional you either put your money in it or you dont. You either borrow from it or you dont. No one is being forced to use it and we are in a free market. Islamic bank of Britain operates shariah banking and regulated by the FSA the british people have a choice. Why should you have anyone have an issue with an islamic bank in Nigeria which gives people the choice tell me? this is the debate and this is the arguement. |
I posted this before your post so i will have read at your article and comment. Just a side note there are doezens of country operating islamic banks a country like Bangladesh should never be a benchmark , yardstick in analysing islamic banks never. I would read the article later when i am less busy but the topic says Problem with islamic banking in Bangladesh not problem with islamic banking. |
ElRazur:Elrazur how did you arrive at your findings that islamic banking is flawed without any intellectual arguement to back your conclusion up. You simply say you cannot operate without interest without anything to back it up. You made me laugh when you made reference to Dubai and islamic banking which shows you have done little to understand the dubai crises. Dubai doesnt operate islamic finance buddie , it has a few banks in UAE offering islamic retail banking products but not Dubai as a state. All the funds and debts they incurred are from western banks buddie so i dont get your linking of islamic banking to dubai crises. it is just a flawed principle if based on shariaNow how does this assertion fit into any intellectual arguement, You simply conclude something is flawed if based on shariah, would you mind defining shariah to me so we could understand your point. Those nation who have adopted it in the west are doing so in order to attract global market - even it is means doing so on the back of something as crazy as shariacommon buddy you are more than this even if you hate islam which is not an issue you should still be a little objective. Why should top western banks offer a flawed product , if it is flawed how will they make profit. point of correction the western banks who adopt it are in no way attractin any global market as the products are simply retail banking products - mortgage especially . Please just read issues well before summarising you conclusions. ElRazur:i made an assertion that people call Sanusi a terroris without understanding what is islamic banking is. The burden of proof is on the one saying we should stop islamic banking - we need proofs, reasons and arguements to stop it and not statement like "if it is based on shariah then it is flawed". What has my being muslim got to do with this issue buddie you do not need to personalise issues here lets deal with the substance. |
Some posts just give out the level of intellect in our young people. How on earth could anyone have an issue with the introduction of an Islamic bank in Nigeria. Islamic banks operate in the UK,US headquarters of an Islamic financial centre is in Paris, Big banks like HSBC, Lyods have Islamic and shariah compliant products. But we silly Nigerians without spending 30mins to use our intellect in understanding the basics principle and benefits of Islamic finance we are quick to call the CBN a terrorist!. Soludo should be a bigger binladen for approving the Jaiz Islamic bank then. |
dlox01:Why not let us please detach forpeace from the allegations at hand. It should never be about the personality posting but the substance of this criminal allegations should be looked at. Imagine the allegation of Tinubu backdating signatures , that is forgery and liable to 12- 24 months in prison. |
Both Tinubu and Fashola are super rogues , it is high time lagosians wake up and stop praising this wolf in sheeps clothing called Fashola. This cabal have lagos in their pouches and it is only years to come we will discover the many sharp practices when they have sold half of lagos to themselves. We should never be contended with medicority Fashola is doing some good job but that is no excuse for looting inflating contracts and other criminal acts they should all be in jail for. Fashola is same as Tinubu there is no difference apart from Fashola having the energy to do more visible things. They have both developed a teflonic skin of which nothing derogatory sticks on them all thanks to the media. |
Even uplawal has been missing for the last week , i havent come across her posts which is unusual |
illusion2:Of course i know Abdul Wahab RA but point of correction is that his views are in no way near the dominant view in sunni islam and even his some of his ideas never started with him but with Shaikul islam ibn Taymiyyah that is why i traced the issue to 700 years. Abdul wahhab came in the last 150 yrs and was a scholar and made mistakes like every one he took some issues to real extreme although we should remember the situation at that time was dire as in muslims will worship the grave and sacrifice at grave and all sorts so there needed to be a radical approach to direct the muslims back to the real path. that i swhy i make excuses for some of his views but i diasgree with modern scholars who take all his views verbatim and apply it now. May Allah bless the hardwork of Abdul Wahhab and ibn taymiyyah. |
illusion2:Majority of sunnis as far as I know do not accuse the shia of idolatory for simply attaching historical significance to tombs of prophets as both sunnis and shia visit the Prophet PBUH grave in medina. What some sunnis I think accuse not only the shia of but also the extreme suffis who are also sunnis is pilgrimage to the graves of saints to pray to the person in the grave and believing he can help. Visit to tombs is perfectly alright but using the tomb as a qibla as in praying towards the tomb is where it becomes idol worship. You need to understand some basics issue in tawheed and fiqh before you might be able to fully grasp where I am coming from IMO but if you did understand then that’s really cool as I don’t want to dig deep into the subject it is a real debate in the last 700 years especially since the days of shaykul islam imam ibn Taymiyaah RA. |
ifyalways:The explanation of the verse i will summarise. In quranic science we have a topic called asbab u nuzul. This means the reason or cause of revelation. In Bukhari Vol 6 hadith 344 “ a group of pagans who have associated partners with Allah killed unjustly and committed zina extensively came to the Prophet and enquired about accepting islam and wondered what would expiate their sins, purify and cleanse them of their past evil deeds in order to be muslims.” Then the verses came down in Surah Furqan Q25 the most relevant ones are in 68 -70 “And those who invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, nor kill such life as Allâh has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment[]. 69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace; 70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islâmic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allâh will change their sins into good deeds, and Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful Not only was this verse another verse reveled in Q39 v 53 Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh, verily Allâh forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful 54. "And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islâm), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped. The simple meaning like I told you before IFY if you remember is the moment u accept Islam all your past bad deeds shal vanish and you open a new chapter in your life. The opportunity is there for you wide open please do not delay as delay and procrastination is always the bane of success. I am curious what led you this verse as it relates perfectly to our discussions. |

The man basically "dashed" himself an entire corridor of Lagos, and you see nothing sinister
