Celebrities › Re: Kunle Afolayan Blasts Igbos - Blames Them For Piracy. (screengrabs Included). by lastpage: 12:43am On Apr 07, 2015
Rilamaka: Piracy is a big problem for the Nigerian movie industry and we all agree. However Kunle Afolayan, a celebrated film maker has gone on his social media page to vent his frustration as per movie piracy associating it with the Igbos.

As a role model and a well respected filmmaker I found his tweets quite disconcerting. Was it wise to go about piracy in this manner? Blaming the Igbos? Does it mean that Igbos do not pay to watch his movies in cinema? Does that not depict shallow mindedness and bigotry?

Here are his disturbing tweets and some replies. What do you think? Are there better ways to tackle this issue? Did he cross the line?
The real question is: Is it really tru that majority of Film Pirates in Ebinpejo lane, Up-Iweka, Alaba, Aspamda, e.t.c are IGBOS?
If YES, how can we re-orientate these get-rich-quick Igbos?
Why should IGBOS destroy the 'sweat and livelihood' of someone else, just because you want to make money at all cost?

Igbos dont address their problems but are quick to shout marginalisation!

if an Igbo man is caught and sentenced to death for carrying DRUGS in malaysia, the only thing you will here Igbo say is that "our Govt is not helping us, how can they kill us in Malaysia"! shocked

God, why did you "bless" the world with this people sef?

obynzo:
Good Evening House,
I have read all the comments from my Yoruba brethren and i realise one thing. The result of all these hate is because they are not widely travelled, they believe life begins and ends in their region. My sister had a Yoruba girl studying in the east who gained admission then because of a typo error that indicated FUTO instead of FUTA. The parents were already scared and were already thinking of putting her back to FUTA after year one, but do you know the interesting thing, she told her parents later that she would see out her studies in Owerri that the Igbo are not bad as they put it. What am trying to point out is that the Yoruba have refused to believe that not all igbo are like Zik that they fought against at the western house that resulted in the mass defection of NCNC yorubas to AG. Most people sounding the drums of war and hate against each other are kids that have never seen a war or seen mass killings, trust me it would always leave a mark in the eyes of the aggressor and the bereaved.
Coming to the Oba i must say i am deeply saddened that a xenophobic statement can come from a titled man like this, in Igbo land it is an abomination for a stranger to die in your land a stranger is treated with the utmost care even at the expense of thier own people, if you do not believe me ask the Yoruba people that had their NYSC in the east. Where i lived in Owerri my neighbours were Yoruba and they were so in love with that town that they had assimilated the culture and spoke Owerri dialect like they were indigines. I am Igbo by tribe and Lagosian by birth if there is any candidate, that i feel has what it takes to develop Lagos after all i have as much stake in this town as an indigine i would vote for him i do not need an Oba to decide or threaten me. All those Yoruba shouting about the Igbo my only prayer is that you get to travel and live in igboland maybe you would get to understand very well how we are as a tribe. Understanding is key all this hate filled messages all boils down to ignorance by most Yoruba youths that have never seen a war and i bet you once mass killings start they would all run away. Please STOP ALL THIS SENSELESS REMARKS WE NEED EACH OTHER NO ONE IS MORE THAN THE OTHER. The bulk of the tax from the informal sector in lagos is from the igbo traders so if you chase them where would you get your funds is it from a meagre federal allocation that cannot even service interest payments on Lagos state's debt? Common lets be wise here and not allow some politician or traditional ruler divide us. Those e-warriors how much were you paid to defend this senseless remarks? if roles were reversed would you be happy that you were classed like this? why do we sell our conscience to these wicked politicians and traditional rulers? do they remember you loyal tribesman after winning elections? do they allocate land to you after winning elections? OMO ODUDUWA PLEASE BE WISE
In summary? grin grin
I hate it when Igbos like you go on a long-winding tale.... just to say "I will vote for JK"! angry angry angry angry

Say It.....it does not matter, it does not count! Ambode will win come Saturday!
You can Vote for JK or Ambode....//Ambode will still win!
So, either your vote counts or is a waste, Choice is yours ( I know, it snot much of a choice but you are a very minute minority in lagos!)

Effing stark illiterate, what embers of discord are you ranting about? Or is it because both groups were grouped together in the same God forsaken shiithole? When have Igbos and Yorubas ever worked together in naij?

Every time Yorubas extend hand of friendship to you plonkers, you always take them for mugs. When ya Arthur Eze had so many unpleasant things to say about Yorubas and Awolowo during the Anambra election, with GEJ sitting there, why didn't you lot cry foul then? Heck, most Igbos on this forum supported him. When the senile Achebe wrote this idi.otic book by singling out Yorubas for all kinds of loose talks, before he passed away - why didn't you lot chastise him? Heck, you lauded him for his jejune tales and fables.

I thought you lot said Lagos' no man's land? The owners of the land have spoken - and that's my home state. And I support the Oba, no matter how crude and uncivilised his approach was. If you don't like it - cry me a lagoon! Crude muthaphuckas don't deserve civility.

Anyway, stop wasting my time by killing my vibe - I came back to look for Igbotic ultimatum. grin Have you got any yet?

I'm busy, man. undecided
There is NO ULTIMATUM..... just the usual "hue and cry, moaning and whining coupled with a few whingings"! grin grin grin
Igbos have given a new definition to the phrase "Gra-Gra"!

How they dont realize that they cant pull this off, beats my imagination!
I thought they would have learnt from the Presidential elections, that "Dont start what you cant finish"........ but it seems they are just "mentally-incapable" of learning "common sense". angry angry angry

I just hope Jimi Agabaje would not PERMANENTLY tarnish his political Goodwill in Lagos, by this 'devilish support from Igbos!

The Oba never mentioned that they would drown in the Lagoon, listen tot he video again!
Are you aware that Alpha-Betta is also the tax consultant for 28 states in Nigeria, including ALL the Eastern (Igbo) States?
Do you wonder "WHY"

Tinubu is greedy, l agree and l know that his influence in the coming dispensation will be limited.
Even Fashola had issues with him and had to "show him yellow card" at a point.
You can also see that the man has taken a "back sit" in the last few weeks.

But having said that, you cannot take away from Oju'yoobo, the Lion of Bourdillon!
*It was him who kept the opposition alive otherwise, we would have been under PDP.Pigs for the next 60years as they promised! shocked
*It was him who gave us Fashola, arguably the BEST GOVERNOR in Nigeria and who has set a standard for all other Governors.
What makes you think his wisdom to give us fashola has diminished, in giving us Ambode?

And if that were to be the case, what makes you think we cant vote-out Ambode, after just a single term or do you doubt the ability of Yorubas to be very critical of one of their own? Go ask Obasanjo ... or even Tinubu himself, when he wanted to prevent a second term for Fashola. wink

Look, Prof. Jega has made life very easy for we the electorates! grin wink
Just make sure you hold tight to your PVC and insist on usage of card readers for ALL elections.
They misbehave, you vote them out...SIMPLES! undecided

As for Agbaje, to be honest with you, l like him as a person but l will not (and l know every progressive Lagosian will not) risk voting for him, at the expense of making Lagos an "OPPOSITION PARTY STATE".

The day APC/Buhari won the Presidency, was the day Mother-luck smiled on Ambode.

JK Agbaje can "port back" to APC and get on the ballot.
He would have a chance then but for now, like the "crase' Oba said, "Agbaje will never be Governor of Lagos NOW, the future belongs to God".

Nuff Said.

This video is showing us what exactly transpired . The Oba was laughing with his subjects- the Igbo visitors

This is a false alarm by the enemies! The Igbo elders were laughing and enjoying themselves.

I think all these noise makers should now apologize to the Oba of Lagos!

The statements attributed to him were tongue in cheek comments! They were colloquial statements misinterpreted by evil doers

Thank God the video is now out!

God bless the Oba!

Hit Like for Ambode and Share for the Great Oba of Lagos!
Actually, that statement was uncalled for.
Traditional Rulers ought to comport themselves and live by decorum so that the respect we have for them can be sustainable, long term.
The Shenanigans of Obas, in recent time, much like that of Pastors/G.O's, is getting annoying.

Even if the Oba was dead serious about what he said, he is still the Oba of Lagos, only his subjects (like Ambode, APC, Lagosians, Yorubas, e.t.c) can offer apologies ON HIS BEHALF.
Dont even dream of expecting the Oba to apologize in person...No tin your dreams.
And "diplomatically", the Oba's office has denied this statement.... which should have been enough to assuage the feeling sof our Igbo brothers but dem no dey hear "leave am", very heady bunch!

But then, l noticed that the Igbos in that meeting were all laughing and even clapping for the Oba!
Why would they do that if the statement is to be taken literally?
They can be that DAFT/ FEARFUL or was the Oba not speaking English, which l believe they understood?

Again, the Oba did not say they would die in the LAGOON as Igbos have twisted his statement.

He said they would die IN THIS "GUTTER"
Go listen to it again.

It is apparent that it was really tongue-in-cheek statement and the Igbos should apologize to the Oba and Yorubas in general otherwise, they would be made to pay for this infamy.... ina few days/weeks time.

Insulting your own Eze might be your culture but when you bring that mentality ot the S/West, you are courting real trouble.

I saw them with my own eyes the day they were driven to the palace, just a few days to election because l came to Lagos that day!

Now, could it be possible that PDP and the Oba are acting out a "script of alienation" against APC and Ambode?

For, l see no reason why the Oba will say that to a group of people who came to beg for his forgiveness?

Governor Ambode: The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Lagos, Akinwumi Ambode, on Monday said if elected, he would promote the interest of every ethnic groups within the state.
Mr. Ambode, the Lagos APC and the Oba of Lagos, Riliwan Akiolu, have come under fire from Nigerians following a report credited to the Oba that Igbos in Lagos would perish in the lagoon should they fail to vote for Mr. Ambode, his choice for Lagos governorship.

Mr. Ambode is facing stiff opposition from the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Agbaje, whose party performed well at the March 28 presidential and national assembly elections.
In the heat of hate speech allegation, Mr Ambode, in a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES Monday afternoon said every group and ethnic is important to build Lagos.

‎”Every group in Lagos will be safe in my hands as governor,” Mr. Ambode said. “I will not discriminate against any religious or ethnic group. It is our Lagos and we must build it together,” he said.

The former Lagos state accountant-general added that he would be a governor for all.

“In my acceptance speech after the primaries I made this note that I will be a governor for all and Lagos is safe in my hands. I want to build on the foundation of unity, peace and progress and development laid by my predecessors.
‎
“And though tongue and tribe may differ, we stand in brotherhood in Lagos from the smallest ethnic groups to the major ones. We are all stakeholders,” the APC candidate said.

There is no need to deny what the Oba said. The audio of the statement is out. It is sad that our politics has degenerated to this level.
http://lindaikeji..com/2015/04/he-said-it-listen-to-audio-recording-of.html
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/audio-oba-akiolus-meeting-with-igbo-leaders/
I listened to the "Audio" and l was aghast!

Now, until l see the Video with the Oba speaking (so l can be sure that this is not just a "voice-over"wink, l will still give him some benefit of thr truth, that he did not say those things.

Now, let us "assume" he said so.
I will be honest: IT IS WRONG!
As much as l think Igbos are pesky, annoying, arrogant, in-your-face attitude, ungrateful and a spoiler of all good things, l will stil concur that they are Nigerians (until the secede to Biafra grin ) and should be accorded the "love and respect" which unfortunately they themselves dont afford other tribes.

Moreso, as a Traditional ruler, you have to be "diplomatic" in your choice of words! You are a father to ALL, irrespective of your personal feelings.
Funnily, if you listen to this video, you will hear the Igbo audience CLAPPING and l am like What-da-Phuck is wrong with this people?

The Oba should through his spokesperson, apologise to his audience.
(I know if the tables were turned, No Igbo person will ever ask his Eze to apologise to Yorubas............... that is the difference between Yorubas and to her tribes, we are a cut above the closest tribe... which is not even Igbos)

Now, let us assume he did not say so and the "audio" was forged:
*Why would such thing be done?
To foment hatred and make Igbos vote PDP? (Well, that we expect anyways, as we have seen in the Presidential elections)
*Who could have done it?
Sure, it is the PD.Pigs who will want to incite Igbos living in Lagos, against the APC, knowing that Lagos is a generally liberal state.

Finally, we might ask: What percentage of Lagosians.... especially those with PVC, are Igbos?

Let us say the TOTAL population of immigrants in Lagos is 40%. that is two-thirds.... or for every 3 person you see, 1 is a non-Yoruba.
What portion of this are Igbos? maybe 15% or 20% at most. (that is, for every 2 immigrant in Lagos, 1 is Igbo).
Dont forget we also have Hausas in Lagos, in large numbers!

Thus, at best, at the very best of the best, ALL Igbos in Lagos, if they all have PVC (we know most dont have), and if they all can Vote (again, most went to collect PVC in their Eastern states! grin and cant vote in Lagos!) ...cannot provide beyond 20% of votes for Jimi Agbaje.
That is the "maximum" they can cast for him but in reality, we are looking at something like 7-10% votes

So, where and how will Jimi Agbaje stump-up the remaining 30% to even garner HALF of the votes,..... to even qualify for a re-run? undecided

what l am showing you is that APC/Ambode win in lagos is confirmed.

Jimi ported to PDP when he knew and was banking on the ability of the PD.Pigs to RIG elections but now that Prof JEG has "jegared" everyone, rigging has been brought to a minimum level.

If Democracy is a game of numbers, like l said in all my previous posts before Jonathan's election, the maths dont add-up and JK cant win.

You can take this to the BANK.

BTW: If seems strange to me that ALL the Eze Ndigbos in Lagos will go and pay Oba Akiolu a visit, just a week to elections?
Did they go to ask for forgiveness, for their shambolic utterances and behaviour before Jonathan got booted out of office
Did they go to pledge their unalloyed Loyalty to the Oba
Did they go to tell him that "Lagos is No-man's land"? grin
Did they go to tell him to convince Yorubas to vote JK?
shocked shocked

Why cant they just learn to 'pipe-down' until frayed nerves calm down before trying all these subtle moves?
The last time, they were the ones giving matching orders to the president-elect (Buhari) ....even while been very aware of their "role and position" in the last election!
I would think common sense will dictate that they should mellow down and let time take care of certain things.
Every Politician that loses an election usually take a "time-out" .....and come back fully recharged...
But then, Igbos will always be Igbos: loud, brash, rude, Gra-Gra and in-your-face! undecided

MaximusMeridius: ..............if he really wants to soil himself by getting involved in politics, then the Oba should first try to convince his yoruba kinsmen why they should vote for Ambode. Threatening people is unbecoming, apologise for the imposition and tell Ambode to up his game, all we see from Ambode's campaigns are studio portraits and musicians dancing, idea, manifesto none! All we hear is continuity, continuity of what, Lekki-express way Scam and the likes? He is trying to imply Ambode is the candidate because they've "consulted", if so then there is no need to fear except they don't really beleive in their "consultations" The reason why Ambode has a problem (apart from the fact that he is dull) is the people don't like the way he was imposed. if they had allowed the best candidates to emerge, they won't be worried about April 11 because APC started in Lagos and APC has momentum, if you are worried about APC in Lagos they, you know you really bleeped up!!!. People are eager to vote for candidates they beleive in, we are also eager to see federal and state presence in Lagos but it's hard to get the inspiration to spend a whole day to vote for an establishment puppet who cannot even articulate his own vision.

Jk is clearly the better candidate but I'm definitely not voting for him because I don't like the company he keeps. APC are no saints especially Lagos APC but PDP is a party of thugs, criminals and people of dubious characters. Orubebe, 'koro and Foyose and the kind of people in left in PDP and as such i won't vote for JK. I am Yoruba and I can't see why I should vote for Ambode and that's my dilema should I stay at home or vote for APC, because if I do vote it won't be for Ambode but for APC.

Ambode: wrong candidate, right party
JK: Right candidate, wrong party
Oba of Lagos: No comment: because as a yoruba son, I must respect my elders and the institution.
I will say "Dont stay at home"!
Your opinion would not have mattered, if you fail;ed to cast your vote. Go out and vote for what you believe in.
Concerning Ambode and JK Agbaje, ........ the equation has been reduced to a simple 1 + 1 = ?
You will have to make a Choice between two "extremes" ..... and this time, you wont have to chose based on the "personae" involved because both have "liabilities" in their baggage!

So, in this context, we have to look at the "larger good of the society". What is in it for Lagos, as our flagship state?
What would a JK Agbaje Governorship bring to Lagos? - technocracy, soundness of person... and all the PDP atrocities! shocked

What would an Ambode governorship bring to Lagos?
He appears not very vibrant but so was Fashola who we knew nothing about, before he became Governor! He was also an imposition, like Fashola....by the same Tinubu (does this klep has a way with hand-picking performers?)
But more importantly, Ambode brings the vibrancy of APC into the fray. He removes Lagos from the problems of "opposition State" a situation whose attendant problems cannot be "understated".
For example, if Jk Agabaje wants to do the 4th mainland bridge, like Fashola, who will he call upon at the "center of power" in Abuja, since it is obvious such vastly costly but not so financially-rewarding project wont be financed by PPP but by the federal Govt? shocked
We all saw what being an opposition state has done to Lagos in t he last 16years, just look at all the federal projects, from Road to Airport, and you will feel sorry for Lagos.
This alone is the reason why every "Resident of Lagos" must VOTE APC/Ambode...... for the sake of Lagos itself, not for the sake of JK Agbaje or Ambode whom, If he does not perform, we have our PVC to vote him out come 2019.
I even suspect JK will "port back" to APC ......... eventually as the only reason he left was because he could not wait any further, and rightly so, for his turn.

chax100:
I do appreciate your write up, JK is a better candidate and I will vote for him and hold him accountable for my vote. A principled Jimi Agbaje with a well conceived manifesto, enlightening Lagosians on Ocean Economy during the governorship debate and Ambode was bold enough to express such sheer ignorance over the subject. A puppet like Ambode is a disaster in the waiting. For the utterances made by the Oba, I comment on my reserve, the Igbo people are not a push over, they know what they want. A true progressive will always restort to the contest of ideas and not vulgar vituperations. God bless Nigeria.
I remember in 2007, you'all call fashola a puppet of Tinubu because he single-handedly proffered Fashola as the Governorship Candidate of ACN but today, we can somehow, funnily, thank Tinubu for foistering this wonderful young man on Lagos.....and indeed the whole Nigerian psyche! kiss
When it is time, God can even use the Devil to do marvellous things, for the benefit of His people! grin

Where were you when Jonathan and "people like you and PD.pigs" were resorting to "vulgar vituperations" like Buhari is a fanatic, he has cancer, he will soon die, He is Boko Haram, he hates Igbos, he has no cerbisticate (which the Army promptly release when he wont the election), e.t.c?

Sadly, the Igbos, are still out to take their pound of flesh on Yorubas for kicking the butt of that clueless Jonathan and many of them, hypocritically, pretend as if they like JK Agbaje when in actual fact, what they want is for Lagos to keep suffering as an opposition state.
They come in all sorts of "masquerade", from mis-information to spreading outright lies, just like they were doing against Buhari.... but God pass una.

Lagos is a "done-deal" for APC....anyoen who has the interest of Lagos at heart cannot think otherwise.

You live in a cocoon of "grand delusion"! grin
At the bolded: Hausas do not "respect" Igbos as you think.
The reason they travel out of the East before the election sis because they know you people tend to "act first, before engaging your brain" and might start a senseless tribal killings, as you yourself have noted in your post above. wink

On the other hand, the reasons they feel safe and would not run out of Yorubaland is because they know that Yorubas are friendly, thoughtful and generally "evolved-above-average" species! They actually have genuine RESPECT for Yorubas
They just feel "SAFE" with us, than with the Gra-Gra Fl@tHeads! undecided undecided

As for your threat to start killing Yorubas in the East. Well, it just shows how shallow your thinking is!

For every #10 of Yoruba money in the East, there are probably #1000 of Igbo money/Wealth in Lagos! grin

WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO THOSE PEOPLE AND THEIR WEALTH?
I dont want to remind you that this is what led tot he "Twenty Pounds' scenario, back then in the 70's (Go and ask your parents about this)

Igbos would continue to be unwelcomed everywhere in Nigeria, as long as they have the mentality and talk like this....and to their disadvantage!

What they should be doing is "educating the people" on what they need to demand from the Government.

Finally, Igbos should stop stoking trouble everywhere.
How can the Oba of a cosmopolitan place like Lagos issue threat against one of his subjects?
Assuming that was to even be the case, l will expect the Igbos t be wise enough not to turn such thing into a media frenzy!
They should/would go quietly to the Oba and seek "clarification" since such thing would be an aberration and should not ever happen under normal situation.

Whats wrong with this Nitwit sef?
First, l noticed you injected yourself into an argument between CityNG and someone else...... just to make a point of your frustration at Jonathan loosing the election, (your posts before that election gives you away).

Now, you call Lagos a jungle? Have you seen the amount/number of "Luxurious" Bus loading you people down to Lagos on a daily basis.... to search for the "golden" egg (one step towards going abroad, sort of! grin )

While l think it is okay for you two to insult yourselves (it still wont bring Jonathan back to Aso Rock, which l know is your real pain and you are just venting at anyone in-sight wink ), you should try not to insult other nations that have nadda to do with your frustration.

@CityNG:
Its like three pages of this back&forth.
Please, just let it go. This sort of personal insults, no matter how justified, does not contribute to the discuss you and SirSymexx were having (which was interesting BTW) before it got hijacked.
You should understand that there has always been this beef between "SOME" Nigerians in Naija.... and their compatriots living in Diaspora!
Stewpid and completely unnecessary if you ask me but some folks think that is the best way to vent their "innate" frustration so please, just ignore such people and let them vent.

And you too, stop rubbing this "America" in their face!

The more these S/East and S/South peeps try to justify their "political miscalculation cum electoral failure", the more they come up with weird reasons and theories of why they themselves are not to be held responsible and accountable!

Wetin sef? All these self-delusions does not solve the problem one bit.

Again, why is it that in every statement you guys make, the phrase "HATE" is always present?

Answer my question or dry up: where are the benefits of Obamas two term American presidency to Africa!? I mean apart from bombs in Libya, Cotdvoire, congo, Somalia, Uganda all to further Americas foreign policy goals. So why should Africans celeberate a man willing to maim nd kill them in millions to further his countrys interests? Where was Obama during the ebola crises? Bush made some clumsy gestures towards aids fight, where are Obamas, even if fake. Can you prove candidly that American and British intervention in Nigerias elections that seem to have helped Buharis candidacy were done in Nigerias interest? If not, why should that skunk of an ambassador be allowed to be awarding Jega some "medal of honour" while we still have elections this week?
Obama is NOT the President of Nigeria, he is the President of America and his INTEREST, FIRST AND FOREMOST,.... is that of America!
he is not like our own President who sill sell the interest of his own country to another country, for selfish reasons!
Did you not see how Jonathan, a Christian, went behind us, to SOLIDIFY our membership of IOC.... by paying-off our "10-years out-standing" debt to that body, without which Nigeria would just have been expelled automatically? This is something previous Presidents have been working on for the last 10years but that Clown did it to curry favor from Islamic countries!... even though he knew we are a "SECULAR COUNTRY"

You have criticised Obama, over and over again, for the award to Jega!...... Why are you not criticising him for the COMMENDATION to Jonathan? I guess if he had just presented a certificate to Jonathan only, you wont be going into this sort of "OVERDRIVE grin grin grin

Most Nigerians dont yet appreciate the IMPACT of what good JEGA has done to this nation.
As time goes by and election become very very credible and Unriggable.....when Nigerians can fully exercise the power to "boot-out" any wobbling and fumbling Politician from office...... we will begin to feel the benefit as our Politicians will lose this their "air of impunity".

I tell you, if Jonathan knew he could be easily booted out by voters (instead of him relying on party rigging machinery), he would have done a lot of things (which he tried to hurriedly do in Six weeks of postponement! shocked shocked ), he would have listened to Nigerians, he would have sacked all the thieves in his cabinet, he would have not even dared to be sharing Dollars to some nonentities, he would not have called our bluff on the "Fuel Subsidy Scam", he would not have callously refused to do anything about Electricity, he would not have insulted the Yoruba Nation so foolishly, He would not have played "politics' with the Chibok kidnappings, he would not have politicised the Military and turn them to mere "election Riggers", he would not have allowed that scumbag called Mathew Mbu, to insult the populace of Rivers and Lagos, he would not have nominated Obanikoro as Minister, three weeks to election (to do what?), He would not have doled out money to Militants in lagos and the Niger Delta, he would not have turned Government Tompolo to the "Chief of Naval Staff", he would have cautioned his creek Militants when they were threatening the Nation, he would have cautioned the Army to STOP lying to the nation that they have killed Shekau like ten times over! shocked He would not have ............. I can go on for ever, on what he would have done differently, had he not assumed that it will be "Rigging-as-usual"

So, I think Prof jega, with his stoicness, focus and tenacity, has dashed Nigerians the biggest gift we will ever receive in the next ten years. In a country where power is so epileptic, where "reliable" database of Citizens is almost non-existent, and where internet/communication/connectivity is still very poor, to pull it off .......deserves a lot of commendation.
The only difference between Nigerian election and the acclaimed "American/European" Election is that ours was ALWAYS "manipulated most by the party in power/incumbent..... while their was at least, about 95% fool-proof and rig-free.

When someone like Jega makes your vote to count....ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE ....AFTER.

God bless Prof Jega.
Let him improve on the perfection of that Card reader. wink wink

hush15:
While I may not be able to speak for most states, for lagos and rivers, PDP will and must win.

But beyond partisanship, can nairalanders carefully read:

With the resent opportunity by Mr. President gave us to speak our voice, what we need to realise is that we have been handed the power to choose and manage our government. If we don't seize the opportunity, we might not get the chance again in this generation.

We as citizens must distirbute powers evenly. We must introduce competition especially in key states so the party and power at the central can feel challenged to perform and also driving perfomances at state levels too.

A state like Lagos and Rivers occupied by oppositions can make the center sit up, knowing fully well that should they fall short on their expectations will give room for the opposition to expand and capture the center eventually.

PDP is looking for opportunity to redeem their dented image and regain lost confidence. They need to perform to achieve that. And should they win a state like lagos, lagos has a lot to benefit from.

APC also, since they at the center, needs to perform also not to loose their states.

All in all, we the citizens are the biggest beneficiaries cos our votes will always count and our voice always heard...

Let's be wise and grow beyond party politics and strengthen our democracy as citizens.

Investiture of power in one party means compromising our rights and we shouldn't be surprised if we are taken for granted.

Sw
Stop panicking! Which Jonathan gave you voice to speak?
Is it the same jOnathan that was using the military to harass his political opponents?
Was Bourdillon in Ikoyi and the house of Tinubu, the location of Shekau or does that place look like Sambissa forest, for him to deploy a whole battalion of Soldiers there, just a week to election?

Abeg, all these image laundering you gusy are doing for Jonathan does not wash. Ebelete Jonathan...WE KNOW VERY WELL.
His "actions" speaks louder than his pretentious "Voice"

Lagos, Rivers and even Bayelsa must Vote APC...... in their best interest.

Lagos has been an "opposition state" for 16years!
That is about to CHANGE!
Lagos will enjoy the benefit of being in the inner caucus of the centre-Party! There are so many projects in Lagos especially, that ONLY the fed Govt can execute, e.g, The 4th Mainland Bridge and thus, needs the sympathy of the "Power at centre" to let it take-off.
Dont forget how PDp has been suffering lagos for the past 16years, simply because it is APC?

If you need toform opposition state, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Imo, Anambara are all in the opposition. Let those states provide the needed "opposition" you are ranting about! grin grin

Dont even try to pool wool over anyone's eye, you are PDP/Jonathan supporter.....and your party and "chairman" is being defeated left, right and center.

PDP has nothing to redeem in the Governorship election! It will take them at least Three or Four election-cycles (12 - 16years) for anyone to even take them serious.

Lagosians be wise! You have shown your wisdom by sending the Otuoke fraud, back to where he belongs!
Complete the good work you have started by ensuring that APC/Ambode sweeps Lagos elections, including their House of Reps Candidates!
Dont let PD.Piss slow us down!
