There is a cliche that goes like this: Fool me once, you're smart, fool me a second time, I am silly"! Its time for Nigeria and Nigerians to decide whether it is the West/IMF that is "smart" or whether it is we Nigerians that are "silly". Its our call! ![]() The simplest question anyone who was not "matured enough", back then in 1985, when SAP and Naira's devaluation (done more than once!)was "reigning" is: What are we trying to achieve, that we cannot achieve using other sensible methods, than devaluing our own currency? *Why did America not devalue the dollar, despite all their recession problems? *Why did U.K not devalue that G.B.Pound that is the most expensive currency in the world or were they immune to the last recession? *So many countries in the E.U, especially "the PIGS" (Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain) are actually facing worse scenarios than Nigeria yet, the EURO was never contemplated for devaluation! And to think that these are countries that dont even have the "free" crude oil! We dig ground small and before you say Jack, our foreign reserve is full of billions of dollars? Why are such a "silly race" (pardon my foul language please, l am angry with myself!) that we dont ever wonder how a country like Germany, without any oil exports, some Scandinavian countries, e.t.c, manage to be buoyant and remain solvent? I will not even engage in any silly dialogue about "IMF and Naira devaluation" It is crass and evil; PERIOD. Do we even understand the far-reaching implications of devaluation? Go ask those who were salary earners, back then in 1985. Yes, we might need to ask our parents Any "average Joe" should do the maths: What do we "save" by devaluing again, our "almost worthless" Naira? Now, (using just one example), if we "seriously clamp down" on looted money at the NASS level or Governorship level, which one would be higher? The IMF savings or the "drain-pipe" NASS/Governors? Our problem is not that we dont have money, NIGERIA IS ONE OF THE RICHEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, by the ratio of "total resources to population". Our problem is unbridled Corruption, by a few! I have read a lot of disgraceful analysis here, by people who claim to be educated, University graduates and some "Tokunbohs" that dont even know jerk and yet are spewing balderdash! Okay, if you think that we cant clamp down on the two "sectors" mentioned above, let us repeat that "silly question" again! How much do we gain by "IMF pills and naira devaluation"?, since the "health of any economy boils down to what it has in its foreign reserve" (if you have the dollars in your reserve, like China, its up to you to spend!) Then lets compare 'same' to what people like Ibori, Obj, IBB, Ministers, past Governors have stolen and kept in foreign swiss account? Please, can someone give me an answer? If Nigeria, needs 300Billion dollars in its foreign reserve today, (so that we can buy like mad, shop till we drop), we know where to get it! They are in the same Western Banks that controls IMF! ![]() Seriously speaking, if Ghadafi has 33Billion dollars in just the U.S. alone, and he can still develop that his desert country as we all see on TV, tell me, how much do you think must have been stolen by our "leaders", for Nigeria to remain such a 'rotten country' as it is today, so much so that IMF has the guts to come back to us again? If Nigerians are serious about themselves and our country, lets stop discussing IMF or devaluation; LET US DISCUSS HOW TO GET OUR COUNTRY BACK FROM THOSE HOLDING IT HOSTAGE. To do otherwise is to continue to wallow and die in ignorance! Devalue the Naira? What a joke! |
^^^^^ Thank you very much "harakiri", this is exactly what l have been "preaching" to my brothers, since the start of this thread! We Nigerians have these annoying penchant to "beat one of ours when he is down" and need support most! I guess that explains why we are the most maligned people in the world; We do most of the "beating" ourselves! I dont know, it just makes us "feel good" to "side with "Oyinbo", (no matter how silly it looks) and talk-down one of ours! Very strange indeed. 50yrs after "geographical independence", it seems most of us are still a long way-off to "mental and psychological independence" ![]() I love your analysis up there. If any of those "Nigerian kids" that have been repeatedly stabbed-to-death in the U.K, have learnt to face their challenger squarely (like Etuhu), maybe they would "serve jail-time" but WOULD STILL BE ALIVE TODAY? I wonder if the three guys have also stabbed and killed Etuhu jnr, what would these same scumbag-fellow Nigerians be saying (apart from "my sympathies to the family"! )BTW: Personally, i am a non violent person,,,,,, If i was in the casino, had a misunderstanding with some people and decided to leave the venue peacefully only to come out and be confronted ,,,,,,, Someone's skull would have a tire iron buried in it.hic-hic-hic-hic In fact, you dont even sound violent at all! ![]() Cheers bro, easy does it! |
Sagamite, I am not "playing the race card", "I actually see race in this"! And the comments made by the judge in relation to how he cam to Britain with nothing (which has nothing to do with the issue of a broken jaw!) confirms my suspicion and observation! They like to remind "black colored folks" that Britain is doing them a favor whereas, these are British citizens! Though they are black citizens sha ![]() BTW: I said earlier that "l wish Etuhu could have controlled his anger", he would have been a better person for that, in the long run. |
@Joagbaje 1 Corinthians 9:5Okay, so other Apostles take their "believing wife" along on missionary missions! ,,,and he asked why he should be deprived on this benefit? Question is: What that request genuine or NOT? When the Bible says" what God has joined together, let no man put asunder"! Why should "man" try to separate James and his wife, when such union is ordained by God? Would you Pastor Agbaje, not go with your wife, if tomorrow, you are posted to CEC, New York branch? Would your wife not "elect" to go with you? Does she not participate in your ministry right NOW? Was James not even ahead of the church (and should be credited), back then, judging by what is acceptable and practiced in your church today? Why then do you "count this against James", as shown in your quote above? |
^^^^^What if that comment actually applies to you? Is "provocation" not a recognized alibi, under the law? Was it not apparent that the guys "laid in ambush" for him, after they were initially booted out of the Club, by the managers (having reached a position that they were the aggressor!) Why dont you apply that same yardstick of yours, to the other party: Why did they NOT take the option of "walking away" after being sent away? Why "stalk and ambush? Etuhu jnr? Ask yourself: If Etuhu was "white" as the other guys (or if the other guys were black as Etuhu): will the judgment have gone this way? Would the judge have mouthed that silly profanity about coming to Britain with nothing! Social Studies in primary school taught us that we are a "product of our environment" and l can understand when peeps who live in Britain "take this kind of stance", on issues like this; They need to blend, they are trying to blend! BUT the eternal truth is that "Black and White will never BLEND" as long as you cannot change your color and genes! Very sad reality |
The Emperor carried out his earlier statement: everybody who refused to endorse the Creed would be exiled. Arius, Theonas, and Secundus refused to adhere to the creed, and were thus exiled to Illyria, in addition to being excommunicated. The works of Arius were ordered to be confiscated and consigned to the flames while all persons found possessing them were to be executed.[9] Nevertheless, the controversy continued in various parts of the empire. This is where the "blemish on Christianity" started, and it was started by "mere mortal men"! Not by God or Jesus. This where "human knowledge" was used to determine spiritual principles and precepts! Jesus never claimed equality with God, in terms of "physical personality", their "unity of purpose" (which some mis-interpreted as physical equality) is what he was referring to "when he said himself and the Father (God) are one! Truly, Satan has blinded the eyes of some so that they may not or never know the truth! May God help us. |
In those days of OBJ, it was "(Christian association of Nigeria) CAN, my foot"! I hope people still remember that? Funny thing about the whole story is that "A BISHOP", another of those "man-of-God" was spewing rubbish at these gathering of the ignoble! What is the matter with all these religious leaders that they can even call a spade, a spade? Dont they have shame? Who is that Bishop "Thanking" on behalf of that useless Governor? God? Same God abi another one? I think a nursery school rhyme that warns children about behaving like OBJ should be composed and made compulsory for everybody to learn. This is the funniest part Can somebody "rise-up to the occasion please"? I just dey laugh O! ![]() "The evil/good that men do, will now live WITH them"! ![]() Good riddance to "two bad rubbish" Won ma fun ra'won loogun je ni! (They will poison themselves eventually) ![]() |
@frosbel This is in response to some statements made in an earlier thread by lastpage and Delafruita , who were having a problem with Jesus = GOD.My dear, you have COMPLETELY MISSED IT! The problem l think you have is that "you read the Bible in isolation, focusing on just a verse and not "walking back and forward, after that verse! Most of those verses dont even support that claim! In fact, when l went through the Bible to ascertain your "first Bible quote", it was evident that even you did not read your Bible! E.g: Hebrews 1:8-13 which you quoted. Lets look at Verse 9 (just after the Verse 8!) says: "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore GOD your God, has set you above your companions,,,,," Question is: Who is "the GOD" that was talking to Jesus here? Or was it Jesus calling himself "the God of himself"? For clarity, it was GOD the father, talking to his "SON" Jesus and telling him that HE is Jesus's GOD! Can you understand the flow of this? Even if you go back to the same Chapter 1 of the same Hebrew that you quoted; Hebrew 1:1-2; In the past GOD spoke to our forefathers,,,,(Vs.2) In the last days HE has spoken to us through His SON So, God the father now speaks to us through his SON! Or do you still think it should read "God now speaks to us through his GOD (himself)? Does not make sense at all! Verse 3: The son is the radiance of GOD's glory,,,,,,,after he had provided purification (death on the cross) for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven: Does this not show that these two are separate "physical entities"? if Jesus was God, can we then say "Jesus sat down at Jesus right hand in heaven"? And another verse in the Bible also corroborates this when God said "Sit at my right hand until l make all your enemies your foot stool. John 1:1- In the begining, was the word, the word was with God and the word was a God. He was with God in the begining. Whether the purveyors of "trinity" tried to remove that "a" in that Bible verse, just to make it sound like "Jesus was God" and therefore make it sound like he was equal and same with his father, will not be contested here (we wont have the time) but one thing is clear: It does not jell with the overall Biblical track of events. I will not bore anyone with semantics but let me ask, who was the Bible referring to as "the word"? The Bible says Jesus was the "word of God" and through him (his spoken word) all things are made. thus, Jesus is the WORD. if that is clear and acceptable, can we then inject and replace "Jesus", with "the word" in that John 1:1 Bible verse and see how it reads? "In the begining was "Jesus", Jesus was with God and Jesus was a God. Jesus was with God in the begining! Does the above make sense? Assuming" Jesus was God", if we replace "God" with "Jesus" in that verse and see how it reads: In the begining was God, and God was with God and God was a God. God was with God in the begining. Now,l dont want to derail this thread but l will just list a few places in the Bible where Jesus himself concurred that he was NOT GOD and not EQUAL to God! by regularly referring to God as his FATHER 1.)Philipians 2:6 - Who (Jesus) being in the very nature of God, DID NOT consider EQUALITY with God something to be grasped. Verse 9: "Therefore God (his father) exalted him to the highest position and gave him the name that is above every other name,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Verse 11: To the glory of God the FATHER 2.) 1Corinthians 15: 24-28 - ,,,,,Then the end will come when he (Jesus) hands over the kingdom to God the FATHER after he has destroyed all dominion,,,,,,,, Verse 27: ,,,,,,,now when it says everything has been put under him (Jesus), it is clear that this does not include GOD himself who put everything under CHRIST! Verse 28: When he has done this, then the SON himself (Jesus) would be made subject to him (God) who put everything under him so that God (Father) may be glorified. Jesus cant certainly be "subject to himself"? i.e. if he was God the father! 3.) Before his death, Jesus prays for himself. John 17: 3-5 - "Now this is eternal life that they may know YOU, the only true GOD and Jesus Christ who YOU have sent. (Can Jesus be talking to himself here? NO) Vs. 4-5: I have brought YOU glory here on earth by completing the work YOU gave me to do and now FATHER, glorify me in your presence (cc: Hebrews 1:9) with the glory l had with YOU before the world began (cc: Relate this part to John1:1) Again, lets ask ourselves:who was Jesus referring to as YOU? God, his father of course! I will not even bore anyone with more verses from the Bible where Jesus made a very clear distinction between himself and God and he thereafter referred to God as His FATHER. They are just too numerous. TO say Jesus is same as God, his father not only goes against all grammatical construct as used in the Bible, it simply negates the whole idea of Christianity whereby God seeks to reconcile man back to himself (after the fall of "the perfect man" in the garden of Eden) by sending another "perfect being" to provide an "equal and exact measure" of recompense., His only begotten SON Like some have opined, this idea of "3-in-1" being equal one is atheistic and has its origins in paganism! If Jesus, who has the 'very nature of God' did not consider himself equal to God, where else would such idea come from if not from pagan Rome? Cheers, Lastpage. BTW: If God created us in his image and said "ye are gods" thus that make us "God himself"? How can someone say "image and original" are the same? I am even surprised some "Pastor" will come here to preach this mis-information! |
In addition to ALL l have said on this issue, one BIG lesson for "me" to learn is the "Art of Self Control"! We all get angry and do regrettable things but "the Man who has mastered his emotions (anger, envy, laughter, e.t.c) is the one fit-enough to be called A MAN". Let s all think twice before,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,anything ![]() Cheers. |
^^^^ i swear u sabi die, ![]() Thats a very wicked "East End " Expression! Mind blowing for a local boy like me ![]() |
The problem has to do with we Christians that practice "emergency Christianity" such that "Pastor" does all the work and research while we just "pay for the services" rendered! If we all read our Bible regularly (instead of that Sunday-Sunday medicine ), maybe we will not be taken for a ride, this long? This quote from "Sweetnecta", also caught my attention: When he was a man amongst you (Christ), approved by God Who sent him.Bolded parts refers: Without running the risk of "derailing this thread", l would like us to ponder on the relationship between God and Christ Jesus. I have witnessed where Pastors (and even in my own church!) say Jesus is God. I have heard the 'benediction' or 3 = 1 where the "father (God) = Son (Jesus) = Holy Spirit (Power of God). But l have read it over and over again, where the Bible says Jesus is the son of God. I have read where Jesus himself called God his father (when he just rose up and said he should not be touched coz he has to report to his "father" who sent him) But it still amazes me when l hear "Christ God"? ![]() Mind you, it is not their (father and son) "Unity of purpose" that is under question here, it is their presumed EQUALITY! BTW: Thank you very much "Kunle Oshoba". I have always paid attention to your contributions when issues of religion are discussed and l am tempted to say "Which Church do you attend or are you a Pastor yourself? If so, how lucky your "sheep' are! You're someone l will like to share Bible discussions with, going forward. @omo9ja1 I a newly appoint pastor walk in to a church unnoticed by the usher, they even fail to acknowledge someone new coming in until it was announce during the service that we have our new pastor here then 10's of the usher ran up to him help him carry his bible this was the same people that saw him walking in but just ignore his presenceIn my own church, "The Coalition" is made up of a group of five people (including Pastor and his wife!) and their seat is different from all the other seats in the church, so you cant miss them when you enter! ![]() |
Problem with some Nigerians is what is called COLONIAL MENTALITY AND INFERIORITY COMPLEX! and it is even more pronounced in the few of them that were granted "Naturalization in the U.K." and now think theY are more British than the Brits themselves. These group of "former Nigerians" are "arze-lickers" and would even expect you to say "Yes-master", if the white man beats up your mother, in your presence! These group of people are not worth having a discussion with coz as far as l am concerned, they are "the lost generation". (l have read the comments of some of them here) You can see there types in Benghazi, who will sell their "birth-right" to their enemy, for selfish reasons. Now, back to the "Etuhu question". Even though the story was not told in full, let us examine a few salient clues and ponder on some questions: 1.) The story said the guys had a squabble with Etuhu and his friend and three guys were later asked to leave the Night Club Question: Why would the club's proprietors (who are probably white also) ask the three guys to "leave" while retaining Etuhu and friends? *Does that not tell you that the "first and fair" judgment was that the three guys are the trouble makers? *Did the deciding Judge take this into consideration? 2.) The three guys the went to lay ambush for Etuhu outside the Club: Question: Has anyone heard about the law against "stalking someone"? * Would our "over-westernized" commentators berating Etuhu, tell us what the same judge would have done, if it was Etuhu that lay ambushed for the guys and got his jaw broken or even killed? I for one has seem black dudes sentenced to jail, just for "loitering around or watching" their estranged friend and l am sure others can tell of similar experience. 3.) The three whiteys now carried out their "pre-meditated" intentions by accosting Etuhu! Though it was not stated, the reality is that an argument broke-out and led to a fight! The problem is that "this black bloke came out tops in the fight" and thats not good for "white ego"! Its just like Ghadafi Vs. Western-backed Rebels!! You just cant win the white peeps! Such people are called "Assailants" under the law: When you lay-in-wait for someone and then attack them, verbally or physically! Granted, Etuhu may have used what is termed "disproportionate force" .i.e force that does not correspond with that of your assailant but it does not take away and should have been a "mitigating factor" in passing sentence, that he was defending himself! This is where the racism angle comes in. If you reverse the personae involved and it was Etuhu's jaw that was broken, the Judge would sentence the guys to 78-hours community service in-lieu of a three months sentence. End of story. A lot of "white judges" have now made it their uty to remind every blackman brought before them, that "they (the whites) made them what they are, and have the power to reduce them to nothing! All footballers, white or black, are nothing until they worked hard to establish themselves and become rich (Not just black folks alone or immigrant black footballers). IT IS VERY INSULTING AND RACIST. It pains me when l observe "black people" who have lost their origins and accepted their status-quo, that they are inferior to a white person and should be treated so, just because they want the white people to accept them in U.K, Europe or U.S! Its a big shame. Anyway, when we get it right in our own country (and we must), such people will come running back and reminding us "how Nigerian they are"! Like some have said, "serve the time and come out wiser! "To eat with the devil, you need to be cunningly smart and have a long spoon!" Not like Saddam, not like Ghadafi but like Kim Jong of North Korea, Almadenajhad of Iran, e.t.c ![]() |

Quote from: lastpage on Today at 10:43:02 PMIts unfortunate you took offense at a SIMPLE INFERENCE l made but honestly, look at your "statistics" below (on NL as compiled by Site Admin!) and compare it to mine. You will notice that TRAVEL AND ROMANCE ALONE account for 90% of your posts! Hence my recommendation to a maggot like yourself ![]() On the other hand, "Politics" accounted for 90% of mine! YOU CAN RANT TILL KINGDOM-COME, FACTS AND FIGURES DONT LIE! ![]() Need l say more? ![]() BTW: all your ill-informed "one or two lines" to others peeps sensible comments is just a nuisance. Amateur nitwit ![]()
|
justwise or what do you call yourself? I will "humbly suggest" that you go back to your usual turf, in the "TRAVEL AND ROMANCE" SECTIONS! You are way-out of your league, trying to venture into discussing international politics! I will not even dignify your infantile comments with a response, less you think you're making sense! ![]() Go hug a transformer, if you still feel irked ![]() |
@justwise? In issue like this, there are many views and opinions, you don't have to agree with mind neither do i have to agree with urs. Its abit childish of u to put pple down just cos in your little world u think that your opinion is more appropriate. You have your view about the West and i have my view about Gaddaffi simple. My comments were not directed at you nor at the simpleton responses you have been offering! My comments were directed at the response of "hedges007",,,,and from the look of things, a few other people also agree with his sensible posting. BTW: Its not enough to "just offer views and opinions", even when they are uninformed and outright ridiculous! Am not asking you to agree or disagree either! Mtchew |
^^^^^Thank you jare, YOU are the only person who has shown any sort of maturity and "deep reasoning" on this topic! Most of the people on this topic "talk" as if they get all their news ONLY from CNN or France24! ![]() At times, l feel as if NL is meant for School cert leavers, the way they reason on important events! No offense intended in any way)It might be illegal, otherwise, l would have provided "links" to another 'Nigeria Village Square' website where anyone interested, could read various detailed analysis, by various writers and commentators, on this war in Libya but l dont want some Moderator to "hammer me yet" ![]() Do yourselves a favor, take the hint! ![]() |
^^^ Funnily, even the Oyinbo themselves (other Europeans, aside the Brits) have stopped this "Wig habit"! It makes them look and feel important, like one small tin-god! ![]() |
^^^^^^^^^ ![]() I just dey laugh ![]() |
^^^^^Now you apologize! Thats a good and responsible thing to do. Kudos to you and l hope others will see the sense in "apologizing" whne they go wrong, instead of going on some ego-rant! ![]() BTW: Why do EVIL PEEPS ALWAYS LOOK ALIKE? Is "evil" a Genetic thing? Can it be read on people's faces? Wallahi, l am Just wondering O!
|
Juvenile Embarrassed Hmmm!!Why on earth are you even asking this question when it is obvious (from your room and car interior) that YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE? Or are you just trying to "show us" something? ![]() Not a bad idea in itself sha ![]() BTW: When did "Bumper Stickers" become "Air Bags"?,.,.,.,. talking about "Car Safety"? ![]() |
@Tunsbobo No one, l repeat, NO BOARD MEMBER can sack Arsene Whinger from Arsenal FC!. Reason being that he is a MAJOR SHARE-HOLDER of the club! All his earnings, bonus, e.t.c has always been used to buy Arsenal shares, so much so you can call his a "Part-Owner" now ![]() And that also explain the guys "tight-fist" at buying players, on one hand AND his eagerness to sell his players, once they matured so he can make the most money out of them! If you wonder why he still plays that "useless Bendtner", it is because he want to polish him to the level that he can make a good bargain on him (Even if it means Arsenal has to loose some games, by playing him!) HIS MISERLY WAYS ARE CATCHING UP WITH HIM EVERY DAY! Raaas Coach ![]() BTW: He cant deliver any trophy this year! He has lost the opportunity to go tops and overtake Man-U, a couple of times. |
As a Gunner, l feel "Whinger" is just toying with our emotions! He reminds me of one of these "Sit-Tight, Despotic Leaders" like the former Ben Alli of Tunisia! Win Trophy, you cant! Change Tactics, you wont!!javascript:void(0); Go away, you stay-put for life!!! He is definitely out of touch with reality. I am even begining to doubt his mental stability, based on the kind of substitutions he makes, of recent! Imagine, Bendtner that cant control ball, Van Persie that use to be a substitute, Djorue that is only used in Carling Cup! THIS ARE OUR BEST PLAYERS NOW! This is how far below, this team has sunk! I think we Gunners need our own "Gunner-Revolution" |
Abeegi! Granted that Diaby is just coming back from injury, has ANYONE noticed that in the last 3 or 4games he has played, as a "Mid-fielder", he is not only very slow to tackle, but very slow to distribute the ball! His "peripheral vision is zero! Now, instead of "Arse-ole" Wenger to realize this on time, he lets him play throughout, and then substitutes a wrong person instead! Today, he should have pulled Diaby first, and left Denilson! If he had done that, he may have still have someone in place to stand-in for injured Djoru! Again, all these Arsenal players are a combination of "young talent" and "mediocre players"! No "established, reliable and dependable" player amongst them! You cant win trophies with that kind of combination There is no balance in that team. He wants "cheap" players all the time! For the next ten years, Wenger will not win anything, if he continues this way! Bet me |
Okay, lets have a deep breath and lets leave "Iyke" alone for now! ![]() From the look of things: Factory-fitted window Tints are exempt from this law. Someone asked a brilliant question back then: How do we convince our illeterate and trigger (egunje) happy Cops that "this tint is factory fitted"? Again, even if it is obvious (l think it should be obvious because the factory-tinted ones are actually "inside" the glass itself an not "pasted on it" like the Ladipo types! You cant peel the factory-tinted ones off! So, lets assume the "Ohhh-Ceee" is aware that it is part-and-parcel of the glass => factory-fitted, what next? 1.) He could insist you should remove it or get arrested immediately. 2.) He could insist that the FGN directive did not exempt anyone or any type of window (factory-fitted or not) HOW DO WE GO ABOUT OVERCOMING THESE KIND OF POSITION? For 1.), l dont have any "brilliant" idea. I hope someone will come up with one! For 2.): I will suggest you get a copy ofthe directive and keep in your car. Show it to the damn Cop and hope he can read. Then hope further he can understand simple english! Hop further again that he is not drunk of "kai-kai/Shekpee", otherwise, 'something' fit happen o! ![]() Reminds me of a few years ago, l got a copy of the IGP directive that says "Policemen SHOULD NOT ask for or check vehicle particulars". its the remit of VIO's and FRSC. I kept the Newspaper publication in my car. One day, somewhere along Agege, to drop my cousin at the NYSC camp around there, l ws stopped by these three "officers" who wanted to check vehicle particulars. I told them its not their duty and they simply went "ballistic"! I brought out the IGP Newspaper publication and showed them! Their leader read it and "squeezed it" together and then put his foot on it! l was boiling mad! I still insisted l would not show them my particulars even though my "papers are ALWAYS IN ORDER" (l just detest any thing that will bring me in direct contact with a policeman). They then proceed to call a Towing Van to tow my car to their station! I asked their Leader (after cramming his number and that of their vehicle ) if he is intentionally defying the order of his IGP and whether is willing to tell the IGP so?I pulled out my phone and made a call to the Police PRO at Abuja, within his hearing as l put it on speaker-phone (dont do these in one obscure corner or at night o! They will simply shoot you! One nearly shot me along Benin-Oore road, around 7pm, for the same thing)! ![]() Before l could finish the narration to the officer on the other side, THEY JUST DISAPPEARED like GHOST! I hope this will be of use to someone with the "factory-approved TINT"? ![]() Cheers |
No matter what, a spouse that would "Cheat" would still do so even if you "Cut your head and use it to serve Wine" to that spouse! Looking at it, both spouses do it BUT wait: It seems men cheat more! or at least, more men get caught cheating, than women! What the heck, most men dont even bother to hide the fact they are cheating! Some even just go ahead and marry the "lady" they are cheating with, insisting "You cant be cheating, if she is your wife"! ![]() They kind of "legalize" it! And you know, Nigerian men have this air of arrogance about them, thinking they can do whatever they like! On the other hand, Women also cheat (No Brainer, from this Video )BUT wait for it: Women dont like to be accused of cheating at all (or at least, women think they should never be caught, hence the "Ohh my God,,,,he actually caught me,,,damn! ) because we "profess love" at every second in a relationship! Women though, cannot "legalize" their cheating except they "break-up' their marriage, they make-up for this by developing "the Art of Cheating"! Its like 'Fine Art', you just have to have the "skills" or not. You can hardly catch a cheating wife or G.Friend! ![]() *First, a woman will put the man's mind at ease and "earn" his complete trust. *When done, she now perfects how to cheat and some will even go on the offensive, by accusing the man first, so as to deflect attention from themselves! ![]() *Even then, it is considered as a sign of "Weakness/Idleness" for a man to TRY TO catch his wife that is cheating! Its easier to just "let her go" after all, nothing you do will make a cheating woman TO STOP, she can only go on "temporary leave" till things cool down! Trouble is when the woman gets pregnant, as a result of "cheating" (men cant! ) and the pregnancy will NOT abort, no mater what she does (Damn, stubborn fetus!), then, everything gets really messy!Either way, l guess anyone that values his/her mental stability, MUST ACCEPT that in this world of "Social Networking and Mobile Phones", Cheating by spouses has become the norm of life! Sad though, but that is the REALITY! Go on any of those Social Network sites and see what "cheating" means The advert for free sex is so brazen! Everywhere you go, you could hear someone just entering an Hotel with a "secret lover" saying to his/her spouse, "Dear, traffic is really bad on this road today o" OR "dear, you have to help me get another job, this my Boss just gave me three hefty files when l was about closing, and l have to finish them"! (Meanwhile, like our woman in the video, she might just be doing 'torch-ur-toe' with the same Boss, at that moment! ![]() As far as INFIDELITY AMONG SPOUSES IS CONCERNED: Get over it or Get a Heart-Attack! The Choice is yours ![]() Nuf said joo! |
I will stabilize power in 4yrs - GEJAaaaaah! We don hear dis one before naah? Or are you no longer a part of the 7-point Agenda? ![]() |
Its the law: You can NOT stand for ELECTIVE office or vie for any POLITICAL/GOVERNMENT appointment, if you had not participated in the NYSC program me. End of Story! Whether the poster has the above in mind, is not my guess and not my wahala ![]() BTW: Can that guy repeating the issue of "bribe, bribe-bribe" your way out of NYSC, be a little civil, at least! ![]() This is an "online, open forum" an it is accessible to ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the whole wide world! Why do you TAKE PRIDE (or ignorance!) in washing your dirty linen, so openly? It is "careless talk" like this that make others face "issues" when they travel abroad, as long as you are a Nigerian! Pls, watch the blabbing. Mtchew |
@ifyalways @Lastpage First off,the OP is a "concerned neighbour" to the battered woman.Everyone should just be wary of those "concerned neighbors"! Like someone suggested, instead of bringing other peeps story to NL, why not just go in and "break the abuser's hands"? That way, at least physical violence will be restrained! ![]() Just watch it when your neighbor starts taking your case to the "public domain" or was it Madam that asked this "amebo" to do what she could not /does not want to do? Again, its just common sense that you dont pass judgment when you dont have ALL THE FACTS OF A CASE or have you ever seen a judge done so? Then, why do we play "judge" over here and shell out "ill-conceived advise"? Thats what you do, if you pass judgment based on a "one-sided story"! I have a problem where people base their judgment on a faulty premise! (bolded part above refers). What you have, at best, is called "Hear-say"! Reading you up there, one would be tempted to believe you were a "Witness to the fact"! Did you see it happen or are you just "parroting" what was said or are you another ALJAZEERA? ![]() I am not saying one spouse should maltreat/abuse another. I am saying that "marital squabbles" deserve better attention and treatment, deserve a more matured approach than the current torrent of flippant comments/advise we see here. I am not sure if you know much about NGO's or if you're one or one of those Nigerians who see it as a way of making a quick buck (Govt and foreign donations/Grants, we all know about that naah ). ""Some" of them dont care about the people they purport to represent, some dont care about lives or relationships and worse of all, some of them "are wounded" and would take their revenge on society, by helping others to destroy an otherwise amenable situation! Maybe someone would remember the story of some NGO's "stealing Haitian babies just after the earthquake, without the mothers consent, and selling them abroad for good money? The mothers were actually tricked into parting with their children. Never the less, very few are good (and we know those) but you need to look into the "inner" motives of those running most ones. Thats another story sha. My prayer is that the concerned fellow takes these NL "marital advises" with a grain of salt (hopefully, the "concerned amebo" involved will not go and parrot same, as Gospel truth Again, There are tons of story where "both sides" come and give their part, online. The last l read was about a Nigerian couple living in the U.S and the wife came to rebute the husband's story, on the same online forum. (he said she was flirting with a family friend of theirs, bla-bla-bla; if l get the link,l will post it here for you to read). I am sure a few peeps here would bear me out on this. BTW: Talking about "scoring cheap points"! I did not know that "Seun of NL" has been giving you guys "plastic bowls" for your responses on NL Now that l have scored a few "cheap points" can you collect my own "Baafu" on my behalf and use it to fetch water! ![]() mtchw!! |
Hmmmmmm, na God go save us O! First, how on earth do people make comments and pass judgment, just by listening to one side of a quarrel? Like the Yoruba people will say: "Agab O'sika l'ongbo ti enu enika d'ajo"! (Only a wicked elder passes judgment based on the story of one party to a quarrel) On one thread, the story was about "Wives abusing their Husband" and the men have to seek Police refuge! ![]() Here, one OP just salivate us with one story (a very one side story for that matter!) and everyone is going gaga! I wont earn any "flowers" if l conclude that "there is no smoke without fire naah"? If NL was a "family court" l guess the first thing a sensible judge will do is to ask: WHERE IS THE OTHER PARTY TO STATE HIS/HER OWN SIDE? Well, not here in NL! I guess some people use NL as a way of getting their "kicks" and destroying the lives of gullible others ![]() I dont actually mind that, its anonymous BUT l worry that there are some "Young and impressionable souls" on this forums, who read a lot of trash here and "swallow it" like its "Gospel Truth"! ![]() I pity those kind people and at the same time, l feel sorry for them! Its for their sake that l would make this plea: DO (as in advice) UNTO OTHERS, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT TO BE DONE TO YOU, YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER! Dont forget, what goes round will one day come around O! Blessed are the "Peace Makers, they shall be called God's children". Let us be reasonable and real, let us strike a "healthy balance" between "Sympathy for the oppressed" and "incitement to evil"! Marriage is not the same thing or equivalent of "a fall-out between two platonic friends", especially when Children are involved! I was expecting someone with brain-matter will ask the poster a few questions about the relationship like: How long have they been married?, when did the fighting start?, what caused it?, Is any of them hot tempered?, Have they been fighting before marriage and if not, how long after did it start?, Are "matured" elders in the family aware and did they try to make peace?, Has the "core issue(s)" causing disaffection between the couples been identified?, Do they still think any "love" still exists between the spouses? Is another "party" (rivalry) involved?, Since two Captains cant command one ship, is any of the spouses ready to "mellow down" for the other? Are there alternative ways of "reaching an amicable settlement (even it is mere temporary separation) than involving all these "vulture-NGO's" who have no respect for the institution of marriage?, And many more pertinent questions Dont forget that "breaking-up a marriage" does not just end there, it is a "life-long change" (and worst in most cases!) for the children who are not a part of the whole brouhaha! And its not all about "how much" you can get afterwards. I guess you should refer to statistics about children form broken homes. Just reflect: after all the work and toil of your life, is it not the same children, (with all the abuse and bad foundation that goes with a broken home), that will inherit you? (and probably fritter everything away in a year!) Softly, softly, abegi! ![]() |
As far as "Students and those bearing the brunt of payment" are concerned, THIS IS A WELCOMED DEVELOPMENT! But on a "deeper and less euphoric level", we will look beyond the "REDUCTION" but look at what they call "reason-d'tre"! I know we are all too traumatized right now, to realize when "just a small part" of our inalienable right is been handed back to us, we tend to think its a favor *These useless fees are undesirable and illegal in the first place *These reduction, coming a few weeks to election, looks like "carrot", smells like "carrot" and is certainly a CARROT! What, when and where is the stick that normally follows a Carrot? *Is it only when election is approaching that Nigerian Youths deserve What about books, what about Lab fees, Handouts, Accommodation fees, Feeding, e.t.c. Okay, its a small chip in the block; its still a chip all the same Broader questions on my mind are: Why are we Nigerians (especially our Youths!) so docile and easily swayed by such "carrots"? Is it because all we "experienced" in our life time is poverty and suffering? Dont YOU think we deserve better than these (when Sin-nators take home Millions for "sitting down" at times or "sinning" most times!) As a crude oil giant, with prices soaring above $110/barrel, why should we be paying school fees at all? What about the roads, Hospital, school equipments and infrastructure, Lecturer's salary, School buildings, e.t.c? That Aregbesola made this announcement at an ACN CAMPAIGN should scare the daylights out of some people! POLI-TRICK-CIANS? I guess a "dieing man" will hold unto ANYTHING, just anything! Its a pity! BTW: Seems we have a few "Area-boys' on the forum, who are ready to use foul language on you, if you dont agree to "dobale for baba" Let them keep at it, more "grease" to your foul mouth ![]() |
