@PetroDollar!

Welcome to the noisy world of Ghana haters! What has this report gotta do with Ghanaian men lacking ambition(as one poster suggested)? . Another  said Ghanaian men are not worthy to be called men. Everything concerning Ghana will be turned on its head in this forum! Tweaaaaaaaaaa. Can you self-righteous Nigerians say you don’t have cases of women beating their partners in your country? Do you have any statistics on that?  If you don’t, then shut up because it could be a much bigger problem in Nigeria than your deluded minds could grasp. And of course the likelihood of men reporting such abuses is another factor.
Dont sound so angry, maan! Read my last post and you will see why. Who told you we hate Ghanaians? Go find out why some cunts will die for Cheski F.C. and it would be because of "Micheal Essien"! And dont you comehere to tell us to shut-up, we just cant, not on our NL grin

Do you guys also consider the fact that it may not always be that the women are physically stronger than the men, but the men believe in the rule of law and will rather seek redress through the law, rather than a savage response to these attacks! So if a man gets beaten up by his wife or girl friend and he reports to the police, it shouldn’t necessarily be a sign of weakness, but an affirmation of his firm belief in the rule of law.?
My guy, stop that kind of yarns! Woman deck you for ground, yakataa, five good times, you they shout "rule of Lawyer"! shocked Why you know talk say na "Banana Peel" make you slip?
It is simple as that. These are civilised, not savages. Those ‘men’ relishing an opportunity to unleash brute force on their partners for such abuse instead of reporting to the relevant authorities are clearly demonstrating who they really are! Brutes! Please leave Ghana men alone! They are the best, in my opinion!
You see, l agree with you except that the "Ekee" in Nigeria does not agree with you shocked
As a mater of fact, Nigerian men has no recourse to "the law", otherwise, you would have seen thousands of them demonstrating at the National Assembly, requesting for "wooo-human-rights"! grin
Over here, ya wife will deck you properly then the "Ekee Police' will also wack you again to instill discipline into you! angry

My guy, relax and dont burst a pipe!
Your Nigerian brothers are just jealous of your situation, at least you have somewhere to run to, for protection from Madam shocked?
Ave actually noticed that most Ghana-men are smaller in size compared to their Madam! Hmmmmmmm, no wonder wink Savage women giants!

Let me share a "Nigerian secret" with you: If Madam beats you at home, keep moot, we take our own revenge on then , ON THE BED grin
Wallahi, by the time we are into the "fourth-leg" of an eight-leg marathon, she would be pleading for mercy!  kiss kiss
See, No Police, No Embarrassment and no whining like our Ghanaian friends little babies! It takes stamina sha wink wink

Hmmmm, lets be honest naah!

Women (wives) do beat up husbands in Nigeria as well BUT the thing is that "Nigerian Men" are just too proud to complain openly!

Just imagine this scenario: Baba Ibeji goes to a Police station to lay a report!

Baba Ibeji (B.I): Officer, Officer o! Please help, H-E-L-P!

Police Officer (P.O): Haaba,(shocked) shocked how many armed robbers attacked you like this and you still survived? God must be on your side o! See all the blood-bumps and injuries on you! Before you say anything, let me call our driver (the only one sober enough at this time of the day:too much Ogogoro grin ) to rush you to hospital! (He shuffles out but the "complainant" runs after him)

B.I: Officer, pls stay with me, dont live me alone, l only survived because l out-ran her! Please stay with me cry

P.O: Calm down, l know how you feel! Rasaki,! Rasakiii!! where the hell are you? (calls the Police Driver). This man needs emergency treatment ASAP

Rasaki: Preeehsion! (gets a rude shock on seeing Baba Ibeji) Whaaaat, you must have been very miserly towards these "Area Boys" to treat you this way!
P.O: Shaarraap, it is not area boys, its that gang of armed robbers that have been terrorizing the whole of Lagos! I need to also send "signal" to state-command" for everyone to be on standby! If they could tear-up this man like this, then l am sure they wouldn't mind eating us alive also. Get me "Saarge" to mount sentry at the gate before you go  and,,,,, (he was interrupted by Baba Ibeji)

B.I: Officer, you are obviously not listening to me!I did not say anything about Armed Robbers naah!
P.O: You dont need to say anything before l know the story!, after so many years on this job, l can easily tell when someone is attacked by nothing less than twelve, stoned and crazed bandits. Infact, right now, l can correctly predict that they fired a Rocket Propelled Grenade at you and if not for your "wife's fasting and prayer", all those dogs wondering around the roundabout would have thought "Christmas came twice in three months" grin Na your flesh them for take do suya,,,,,(Baba Ibeji cuts in  second time)

B.I: Officer, its actually my wife that did all these!
P.O: Yes l know, one can easily tell when a man is married to a nice woman, l can see that your skin and face looks fresh, apart from the swellings that makes one to mistake you for a "Panel Beater's work-bench" grin grin Lucky to have such a nice wife grin

B.I: (Getting frustrated now) officer, l say it is Mama Ibeji that did all these to me! Yes, my wife was the one that beat me up like this and l have come to lay a complaint!

Rasaki: (Looking dazed) I think the man is beginning to hallucinate, he has lost too much blood and they must have been hitting him on the head relentlessly angry angry
P.O: Rasaki, l say Shaaarap! When did you become very educated like this? Or u wan take over my job? Oya, go and buy "pure-water" for him, seems he lost too much blood or something! (turns to Baba Ibeji); How many are the gang members?

B.I: Just one Saah!
P.O: Waoh, just one? What kind of weapons was he carrying!
B.I: Weapons like how?
P.O: Na waah O! This beating don make you "Koolo" too much! shocked grin You cant even remember weapons like "Grenades, SMG, Berreta Pistol, AK99 (shows Baba Ibeji his own) like this latest one l have,,,,

B.I: My wife does not use any weapon! She used her fist and occasionally jumps up and lands on my face with her buttocks! Most of the damage came from that particular action and,,,,, (Police Officer cuts-in)

P.O: You actually mean its your wife that "re-designed" you like this?
B.I: Yeeesah!
P.O: And you have actually come to"Report her" to the Police?
B.I: Yeesaah, and l want her invited for interrogation and probably charged for Assault ! This must be the last time, l am,,,,,(Police officer reaches for his "horse-whip" and lands a few on Baba Ibeji, in mid sentence!)

P.O: God hammer your prick, useless man! Oloriburuku (bas-tard)! Get out of here before l charge you for "unlawful loitering and wasting of Police time"!
Rasaki: Oga, if not for the blood and the contour on his face, l would have fired his leg thinking he was one of those armed robbers sent to rob our armory, under pretense o! Imagine, man wey suppose "dey nak the woman correct" make the whole neighborhood dey here as she dey plead for more! grin  (He mumbles some words like "dis Police job sef, one day dem go ask you to come arrest dem wife because she wan do extra round! Useless He-goat!)

P.O: Thunder fire you, before l open my eyes, give me 25 frog jump and drop #200 to cover the cost of the "paper and biro" l wasted on your case! Another #100 to cover the cost of fuel Rasaki wasted by starting our Patrol Van (Mutters to himself: So we have now turn to woman wrapper, abi?)

End of 'tale'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, many Nigerian men just suffer in silence because "their shakara in public" is too much and they will feel embarrassed by "society" if they ever let it out bout the amount of "behave yourself beatings" they receive (except at the divorce court, in which case, the man cannot bear it anymore and will either divorce the woman now-now or run away from home wink )

My friend living "abroad", told me it is common for women to beat-up their man and even call Police to arrest him on top! shocked
The only difference is that the Police over there (abroad) think it is part of God's design and men actually get "well behaved" if their wife slaps them once or twice a week! grin If they want to revolt, the Police will lock them up for the night and the next morning, he will be back to pick up his "Jeans and Trouser" outside the door and from then on: HE IS A HOMELESS MAN shocked shocked
Of course, his "key" can no longer open the front door and he cant come-in anymore wink except if he wants to add "unlawful breaking-in and entry" to his pending charge of "violence and abuse" shocked shocked
Thats why l like "abroad men", dem sabi wetin dey ground, too much grin grin

How's ur weekend going? Has the water people repented? Damn! angry
In my case, the first thing l did was to dig a "well" using concrete rings and l bought a 'pumping machine and very long hoses".
It is from here we got all the water we needed, even for wetting the foundation after filling and for the German floor too!
Will that be an option for you? Buying water, in the long run might be costly and unreliable too huh

^^^Are you saying we need the Tanks to be down-facing (as in the openings for "pipe-in and pipe-out"wink?
What if such Tank is turned "upside-down", is it not possible to achieve he same result?
I really think it will be novel, to use big plastic Tanks instead of digging marshy pits which are expensive and do sip-in water eventually, in swampy areas.
Abeegi, do "more research" or point me in the right direction to do it, l need to find a solution to this one ASAP!

When is the best time ti dig a soak-away pit when building? At what stage is the best?
Most l've seen do it when house (block and cement work) is completed

Una well-done.

BTW: Why is those two holes (to hold the pillars of the overflow, over the front entrance, right?) being dug now? I did mine as part of the German floor, right from scratch! Holds everything together!!
Or was it an after-thought? What about "tie-ing" it with two horizontal beams (one linking each pillar) to the building foundation at floor level? I guess it will achieve same purpose that way.

I will also like to ask about the "Plastic Septic Tank" arrangement. Can l have pictures of that and some more detailed info?

Family › Re: Rats: How Do I Get Rid Of These Rats! by lastpage: 4:15am On Mar 05, 2011
All along, l have suspicions about this person called "tithe"! shocked
You know the adage that says "show me your friends and l will tell you who you are"?
Now, RATS are very "angry creatures" and just watch how "angry" tithe will get at me in "its" next post and you will understand what l am driving at! tongue
So far you've been treating them with kid gloves. For a problem of this magnitude you need professional help. Get a company that does fumigation and let them fumigate your house and environs. If you live in a block of flats get your neighbours to go along with you on it if not they'll only take refuge there and come back later. We did this two years running now and am yet to see a rat.
I saw this post earlier and it reminded me of what happened in my work place some years back.
The Rats have taken over the multi-storey building and are known to hold-up the lift whenever they want to go upstairs during early morning forays.
Apparently, they ran out of luck one day when they kept the M.D waiting for the lift for almost 5minutes and when it finally came down, they scared the hell out of the M.D when three, well-groomed Mammy rats with bulging bosoms bumped into the poor guy unexpectedly!
To cut long story short, he declared a FATWA on them.

I advised against it (having been a victim of rat bite at a tender age, you know the "eat and blow" stuff that reduces ALL your toes to the same size by the time you wake up?)
Against all common sense, this our M.D (a dictator like Ghadafi!)brought in a Fumigation Company
and they placed some smelly stuff in all corners of the offices after spraying some foul-smelling chemical that sent more staff to the hospital than the damned rats they were meant for!

To cut the long story short, the Rats made our M.D to regret his action! tongue
They left his couch, papers and even left food that was in the cafeteria untouched BUT headed  straight to our "secure" I.T room!
They caused mayhem by eating ALL our OPTIC FIBRE CABLES! These is a place that is as clean as you can imagine!!

The damage they caused, in terms of money is better imagined than seen.
Since that day, l have learnt to "respect Rats" and treat them like fellow human beings (I even suspect some humans turn to rats at night! lipsrsealed )
Those rats were able to identify the expensive cables (like Fibre cables, SCSI cables, Router Cables, e.t.c) and destroy them, while leaving cheap cables like Printer and Keyboard Cables untouched!, it made me conclude that they are possessed by the devil himself!

For those advising the poster to buy "Indocid or da-BOMB", l will suggest you leave your home address along with your advise! (they will surely pay you a visit and them lets see what happens wink
Because you just want to endanger the life of that poster over a "trivial (tithe?) misunderstanding" between Landlord and tenant! wink
Those Rats are ready to eat small children or even you sef (in case you have non) if you declare war on them! I have given you the story above so you dont listen to bad advise)
And if you think some fat, good for nothing, imported Cat from The U.K will help you. (appears the ones in Naija have sworn an oath of allegiance to the Rats, since the Rats began to eat their offsprings), think again!.
I have seen the fat idiots in action! They play "cat and mouse" with them like they are from the same mother! shocked Useless Muther-fuckars!
Even if you kill a Rat and put it inside a Burger for them, they would not eat it and would rather report you to the NCPCA for cruelty to a fellow animal!

Let me end by suggesting you follow my style, Rats dont ever bother me now, since my childhood experience grin
1.) Call a "National Conference" in your house, with the Rats
2.) Tell them you recognize their need for "change and democracy" and apologize to them for "bad-mouthing them on NL (You think they are not aware, right?  shocked shocked)
3.) Grant then human rights by: creating a small enough hole on your door for entry so they dont have to use force or chew-off the whole door (and l hear they easily get pissed-off when you make them work hard for something wink ).
4.) Buy a low-side, wide basket and put it in one corner of your living room (where people can eat and watch TV at the same time) and put assorted food inside, especially the types you mentioned above (its obvious thats what they like to eat, dont put cardboard or tissue paper there else, your big toe will suddenly disappear over night!)
5.) Finally, dont act like Ghadafi, "Know when to leave the house for them, when they start jumping on you while you're asleep"! Its an indication of "civil unrest amongst the population" otherwise, they may not only overthrow you in the house, what if they hold you hostage and no one is aware?

Once in a while, buy them Obalende Suya (l hear thats one way to win their votes and confidence grin )
Bloody, squinting, black, beady-eyed bast*rds are running the show now, like it or get eaten! shocked

Apparently, the furry things in Naija got wind of your plan to "unlawfully force another foreign breed" down there for rehabilitation and l hear that they are sending a strongly worded protest to "MAMA's CAT protection Services" about how Nigerians in the U.K are apt to sending recalcitrant "children' down here for proper rehabilitation (like flogging, marrying-off the Gay ones to beautiful virgins, and even exorcising the devil out of them!)

Turn herself in? Dont be silly, let the Police do a damn good job of this, thats why they are paid tongue

Quote from Daddy G.O's Elder sister.

She opined that all that we are seeing today was foretold. “He was going to meet our father one day in the farm, when an old man appeared to him on a lonely road and naturally, as a child he was very frightened, seeing a man appear from nowhere. The man told him that his stars were shining and that he was going to be great but he would encounter some challenges but God has conquered everything for him.
“The man, according to Adejare, instructed him to tell his parents to kill a white cock for him and his mates. He thanked the old man, and when he turned to look at the man to get a proper description of the man, he was nowhere to be found. Adejare became more frightened and im-mediately ran to meet our father at the farm and narrated his experience to him. When the twosome got back home, they in-formed my mother, who immediately obeyed the instructions.”

Happy Birthday, Pastor Adeboye. Wish you many more years and good health.
One would have expected the Osun State government to take advantage of the man recently voted as one of the 50 most influential individuals in the universe to develop certain monu-ments in the town and establish resorts in the place, for the benefit of people on pilgrimage to Ifewara.
For all intents and pur-poses, Ifewara can be likened to Nazareth and Pastor Adeboye’s individ-ual story can best be des-cribed as divine, because there was nothing in his homestead to suggest that an eminent prophet of God could be raised in that environment.
Maybe we should "direct that question" to Pastor Adeboye: What have you done for IFEWARA? Pastor?

“Whenever Baba comes to town, it is always a carnival of sort as everybody troupes out to welcome him in a grand reception and he acknowledges the accolades in his usual humble manner, even sometimes preventing security personnel from preventing the people from touching him,” one of our guides told us, “he is so free with his people huh huh huh because very many of them adore him.”
I can understand when a Politician goes around with "Security apparatus", l can understand when the CEO of a big business goes around with "Security Bouncers" or when Pop Stars like Beyonce have security

But can someone tell me WHY a Man of God needs SECURITY? Is God not enough security?
Maybe someone would remind me who "Jesus Christ's Security was/were"?

What size of Tipper is this referring to?
10Tons? 5Tons? 20Tons?
I am asking because l was buying a "10 Ton" of Sharp sand for 25K, in Lagos and am wondering whether l am missing something here?
Cheers

Thanks to y'all: Chaircover, Davedavy and Appollonio.

@Elsafema
@last page
you have just done a good job for me here , thanking uuuuuuuuu
No my bruv, NO THANKS now!
Until the day you pay for/deposit for YOUR OWN LAND. Thats when you will make my day.

Speak with some people in the know, they would help you to get land (not V.I. sha grin ) that is affordable and like chaircover said, everything will boil down to "this block" and "that Plank".

"Every good deed (and bad ones too!) and important decision is first conceptualized in the MIND and then realized in the PHYSICAL"
.
Have a nice day.

@Elsafema
at least i don known my level with 80,000 per month as salary may God help me
My friend, dont despair at all! YOU DONT KNOW YOUR LEVEL AT ALL but l will share "your level" with you now.

First , let me state that all the people building this 10M naira houses did not "win jackpot" grin Most labored hard and sweated hard!

Again, let me add that "Savings is not money you HAVE LEFT, after ALL expenses are met"! SAVINGS IS THE FIRST MONEY YOU PUT ASIDE BEFORE ANY EXPENSE IS SETTLED"! (I read that somewhere, am not exactly sure now, maybe What Rich  people Teach their kids that the poor dont)

Having said the above, l know peeps with wife and at least two kids, who live on a salary of 40K/month! Some "Teachers" still do! shocked
Their standard of living might be "comparably low" but at least, they cut their coat according to their cloth.

Now, imagine if you could "cut down" on ALL non-essential expenses and live like your salary was actually 40K/Month?
That means you will be having a savings of 40K/month!; almost half a million/year!
NOT EASY, REQUIRES EXTREME DISCIPLINE, might even imply postponing having more than one or two children (though income may/do rise as we progress in life sha)

THIS IS "YOUR LEVEL": Someone with half-a-million naira in savings within one year! How does that sound? Do you think you wont be able to join these "Landlords in less than 3-5years? YES, you would.

Again, you might just put the first 500K in a savings account (healthy bank pls) that yields 15%/annum and take it out to buy land after the second year! You can even arrange to pay for the land in "installments" - say 40K monthly! Land can still be bought for 500K at Ikorodu, in Lagos  wink

Now, Any form of Owambe (Naming, Burial, Age-grade), Aso-ebi, Beer-Parlor, Isi-Ewuu and "Aaristo activities", e.t.c must be off-limits for you grin grin
And avoid churches were the Pastor will love-vendor you of your money in the name of some "miracle jackpot" deliverance service! You will only end up loosing the little you have (,,,,,,,,,,and it shall be taken from those who do not have (the foolish ones), and given to those who have (the smart ones) grin shocked )

And you have to keep repeating and telling yurself that you will build a house, sleep it, dream it and live it. Remain focused.
Pray to God also, for "inner, spiritual strength" so that "unexpected expenses" will not remember your address grin
Its not a question of "if", it is a question of "when" you will come here and tell us about price of Cement, nails and Iron bender grin

I wish you luck and God's grace

Thanks, "Iya-mi", how on earth did you keep it in mind?

Shocked Did she just called me a busybody and so and so Angry Somebody hold me back Angry Tongue Cheesy
Nothing like that, Iya-mi, not on my life grin I was only giving a testament to your "power of recollection and consistency".

The concerned pikin sef is going to be 2yrs in a few months time Grin Shocked

I must once again thank everyone that chipped-in an opinion, you and @gee9, especially.

How does one do a PM on NL?

Quick gather all your coins and if you are one of those who lives with those rats being discussed in the family section Tongue who feels no compultion stepping aside for you to pass in your own house, are always on time for breakfast, lunch and dinner, will eat the cat and its collar, etc, berra quickly book an appointment with them that you need them to temporarily vacate your abode for you so you can get access to turn over a few mattresses and couch for those kobos that are lodging in the crevice, YOU MIGHT BE NEEDING IT SOONER THAN YOU MIGHT THINK OH Cheesy Grin Cheesy
Is this some kind of coded message or was it meant for debosky?
Iya-mi, now you've completely lost me on this one! Walahi shocked shocked huh huh

what exactly is "mini-flat"?
Is it same thing as "Room and Parlor, with self contained Toilet & Kitchen"?

I thought "flats" used to be described by the number of bedrooms they contain? Like 2Bedroom flat, 4Bedroom flat, Single Bedroom Flat?

Na waah for Lagos o huh

@Thosedays:
I dont understand that your contribution at all! huh
You pasted "omonuan's" post along with mine?
As for me, l am not too concerned with specifics like he is pointing out.
I want to make these a "learning experience" as much as possible and l dont want to question anyones integrity at all, for me to do/get what  l want.

Back to brabus.
Can you still respond to some "observations" l made in my post below, PLEASE? Others can respond too, l want to learn one or two things from the contribution of others.
I should have seen this kind of thread, TEN/FIFTEEN YEARS AGO!
You know how it is now, you have money but not much motivation to do something you can call "sound investment" (Stocks blew-up in my face! Grin )
Its so inspiring

@brabus: Is that a well/borehole in front of the building? (close to that spot that woman is sitting, in the unfinished house picture)

Where is that same well in the finished picture inserted? Just curios to know how you or others deal with such issue (concealment of the well, aesthetics, safety when cars pass over it, if its is later buried underground, e.t.c). Mine is at the back of house and l still have safety concerns (maybe am just phobic about "wells"; maybe l fell inside one when l was small  Grin)Again, l would like to ask everyone: Is it better to use "buried/conduit" electrical wiring OR surface/Structured Cabling for wires?
What are the merits and demerits of each?
I used the latter as l also made provisions for complete "Data and Network points" for all rooms.kitchen, e.t.c

I think it is something that is often overlooked in this age of "technology and modernization". Most people only cater for "electrical points" in private housing but l think (from my experience in the I.T industry) increasingly, data communication among household gadgets/people may make such necessary.
of course, "wireless communication/WIFI" make make it less needed as time goes by, also (but wired cable is by-far faster than wireless).
Also, once you have the points in place, you can easily "move an connect" equipments (phones, Laptops, Internet enable TV, Networked Printer for your household, Skyy Boxes, e.t.c) as you wish, without needing help. (I am putting the needs of my kids into consideration also! bloody rascals Grin)

How about trouble-shooting when there is a problem with conduit wiring? Is it easy without breaking walls?
Thanks to all, especially "Spyider880", l know what it means to be supervising your own project and still have time to "take pictures and upload" as regularly as you're doing!

Thanks brabus.
I added some lines to my post. Can you review it PLS?
More grease 2ur elbow.

@peenywise.
if u'r a "manager/small fry" like me, you have to go through the stress but if you're a "big-man", you simply "pay people" to assume the stress on your behalf! No Pain, No gain

Just try the "stress of Mama landlady" and compare the two grin grin
