LETS LOOK AT IT THIS WAY:

Those beheading others are
*Muslims
*Hausas

Can we then do a mathematical "Union" and say ALL HAUSA+MUSLIMS are MURDERERS?

I have Muslims friends and some of them are the best humans l have seen thus, l wont conclude its the religion itself though, there seems to be a very high percentage of MUSLIMS amongst this killers! WHY?

I also know, apart from people like "Bologi" that a few Northerners are good-hearted though, they may be very minute and most are Christians anyway!
Here in Lagos, we also have "Nice and well-behaved Northerners" who have so far not killed anybody since election results were announced even though they voted "Sai Buhari" (and they were allowed to do so without their head or throat being slit, in the SOUTH!)

I guess "The BAD MIX" you dont want to encounter is HAUSA + MUSLIM + LIVING IN THE NORTH

I pity those parents whose wards are doing NYSC in the North, they are the most exposed, especially on election day!

Is that NYSC Director, spewing nonsense, another HAUSA-NORTHERNER? I hope his own children also suffer the same faith he is exposing our children to.

How many did they kill this Sunday Morning, AGAIN?

I think these madness is "Genetical".

Why not in the south or East or is those places devoid of poverty and illiterates?

I think peeps should stop pretending they are "Southerners or Christians" or start a thread using a "Yoruba-sounding" handle!

From what you POST, one can easily identify WHERE you belong!

Seems its no longer fashionable being a blood-thirsty murder? wink

BTW: I am Southern to the Core! ,.,, ,.,., and l wont behead ANYONE because l dont agree with them or their religion!

On a lighter note, after seeing what Reverend Jolly Nyame became, I'm certain God will be wary about sending His sheep among wolves again

@ekt-bear: Based on what, though? What is the basis for this superiority? They are poorer. They mixed a lot of animism and paganism into their "Islam" up until the 1800s (this is a big reason why Dan Fodio conquered them all.)

So why is a Hausa Muslim superior to a Yoruba one?

Less wealthy, and has no older credentials in Islam. What then is the basis? Silly arrogance.
The only thing we can do is LAUGH!
Its a kind of idiotic arrogance borne out of fanatical indoctrination!

I use to think "RELIGION" is strong enough a bond to "unite" people because God is above anyone but not for my HAUSA BROTHERS!

Tippy Top has been hammering at the "healthy competition" between Yorubas and Igbos!

Question is: ASIDE FROM THESE MURDEROUS ALMAJERIS,
*Show me one instance where IGBOS have beheaded YORUBAS for just being YORUBA or MUSLIMS, in the EAST?
*Show me one instance where YORUBAS have burnt IGBO HUMANS to death, just because they are IGBOS or Christians?

We can have disagreements on anything (politics, policies,e.t.c) but we will NEVER as a people, kill for the sake of Religion or Tribe!
(You need to see the fight between myself and I.K., when we were small!  grin )

Even the 1967 Civil war was an abberation instigated by Northerners!
(and then co-opting Yorubas into it, through Awolowo's selfish interest, l must say! Like all elites, he wanted to rule over "a vast Nigeria" than a "smaller Oodua" country and thank the God of Justice, he never did!)

Go to Idumota, Badagry, Lekki, Ajegunle, Apapa and about every other place in Lagos and see how IGBOS flourish! Go to Onitsha and see YORUBAS inter-married and living happily with IGBOS, without any fear at all! That is the Nigeria of our dreams, not some fear-mongering, murderous shit-heads!
Your "divide-and-rule", fear mongering strategy does not hold at all.

That the YORUBAS will vote for GEJ (a S-South person), That the IGBOS would vote for GEJ, over Buhari or one Dele Momodu grin is a CLEAR INDICATION THAT NIGERIA IS NO LONGER THE NIGERIA OF YESTERDAY!
The divide and rule of the civil war days are beyond us in the South. We share a common culture of respect for human life and welcoming strangers(non-natives) in our midst! Can we say the same of Northern Muslims?

LOL! Then  he is delusional. Hausa Muslims won't even pray in the same mosque with their Yoruba counterparts.  Grin

Is that true? If so, why?

So mosques, are there separate mosques for Yoruba, Hausa, Nupe, Fulani, etc? How does it work?

Nigerian churchs I've been too have been a mix of all types of groups before. Though few northerners.
The TRUTH is this: Even a "Stark illiterate Hausa Cobler" or Ashaba/Okada rider THINKS HE IS SUPERIOR BY LINEAGE, to any other Muslim (from any other place in Nigeria!) and as such would not consider his prayers heard, if he worships with other non-Hausa Muslims.

Go to Lagos and you will see a very, very big Mosque with loads of Southern Muslims praying inside!
But your own Hausa gate-man or "shoe-make" and the rest of his likes will "partition" a part of the main road and turn it to a make shift Mosque!

He would rather endanger himself by praying on the road, (the same road we all march over with our shoes grin ) than "share the same house of worship" with a SOUTHERNER!
The only deduction l can make out of this is that: THE "HAUSA MAN" HATES THE SOUTHERNER WITH A PASSION! It does not even matter whether they share and worship the same ALLLAH!

Now, How on earth can you hope to live "PEACEFULLY" with such "MIND-SET"?

I am still looking for a "formula" to use in changing such mind-set (Abi we should convert them to Christianity?) huh huh

@Lagosshia
there is something totally wrong in islamic teaching and dat is absence of fundamental law on life and blood.
When u include the fundamental law of love and respect for life in your teachings, then u will learn not to indulge in war with your fellow humans. and this is where christianity is far ahead of islamic religion.

are you sure on that?

HOLY QURAN 5:32:
whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.

(SHOW ME ONE VERSE FROM THE ENTIRE BIBLE LIKE THE ABOVE!
)

^^^^Imagine the rubbish you wrote here above?

HOLY QURAN 2:190:
Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

HOLY QURAN 7:55:
(O mankind!) Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret. Lo! He loveth not aggressors.

HOLY QURAN 8:61:
"But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is the One that Heareth and Knoweth (all things)."

HOLY QURAN 5:2:
" ,  and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment."

HOLY QURAN 41:34:
"Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!"

HOLY QURAN 4:135:
"O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do."

HOLY QURAN 16:90
"God advocates justice, charity, and regarding the relatives. And He forbids evil, vice, and transgression. He enlightens you, that you may take heed."

HOLY QURAN 16:126:
"And if ye do punish them, punish them no worse than they punished you: but if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient."

HOLY QURAN 21:107:

@PrinceK12
Americans investment and influence of western culture predominantly contributed to the development Dubai, which was built for tourism and business. Dubai also aimed to copy western culture. Many western investors said from the outset that if the strict Islamic laws were not relaxed, then they will not invest in Dubai. In any event, it is noteworthy that Dubai is still run by Muslims, many of whom were educated in the Europe and America, which is what we are advocating for. You can see that educated Muslims are less likely to be brainwashed into Islamic extremism than uneducated Muslims, and are less susceptible to be swayed by Imams who have an extremist view of the Quran. This is why we are advocating educating those Almajiri kids.

In Lagos, the area boys commit atrocities for their own personal gain, not because they are defenders of Christianity. There is no biblical verse supporting their action. One of the fundamental principles of Christianity is not to commit violence or revenge, even if you were a victim of violence. Vengeance, the Bible says, should be left to God. Maybe Islam has verses that could be interpreted by extremists to support their violent actions.
^^^^This is absolutely spot-on

Below are some of the verses in Islam that could be used to justify violence:

The following are only some of the verses in the Qur'an that can and have been used in the history of Islam in support of violence in the name of God and the glories of martyrdom in a holy war.

2:190-193 "Fight in the cause of God those who fight you ,  And slay them wherever ye catch them ,  And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in God , "

2:216 "Fighting is prescribed for you and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth and ye know not."

2:224 "Then fight in the cause of God and know that God heareth and knoweth all things."

3:157-158 "And if ye are slain or die in the way of God, forgiveness and mercy from God are far better than all they could amass. And if ye die, or are slain, Lo! It is unto God that ye are brought together."

3:169 "Think not of those who are slain in God's way as dead. Nay, they live finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord."

3:195 ",  Those who have ,  fought or been slain, verily I will blot out from them their iniquities and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; a reward from the presence of God , "

4:101 ",  For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies."

4:74, 75 "Let those fight in the cause of God who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of God whether he is slain or gets victory, soon shall we give him a reward of great (value). Those who believe fight in the cause of God and those who reject faith fight in the cause of evil, so fight ye against the friends of Satan, feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan."

4:89 "They but wish that ye should reject faith as they do, and thus be on the same footing as they. But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of God. But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them…"

4:95 "Not equal are those believers who sit at (at home) and receive no hurt and those who strive and fight in the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than those who sit (at home).

5:36 "The punishment of those who wage war against God and His apostle and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land. That is their disgrace in this world and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter."

5:54 "O ye who believe. Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily God guideth not a people unjust."

8:12-17 "Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them. This because they contend against God and his apostle. If any contend against God and his apostle, God is strict in punishment ,  O ye who believe. When ye meet the unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day, unless it be a stratagem of war ,  he draws on himself the wrath of God and his abode is Hell, an evil refuge (indeed)."

8:59-60 "Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly). They will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of God and your enemies and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know , "

8:65 "O apostle! Rouse the believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred. If a hundred they will vanquish a thousand of the unbelievers, for these are a people without understanding."

9:5 ",  fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) , "

9:14 "Fight them, and God will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame , "

9:29 "Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and his apostle nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizya [religious tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

47:4 "Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks, at length when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them) ,  but if it had been God's will, he could certainly have exacted retribution from them (himself), but (he lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the way of God, he will never let their deeds be lost."

61:4 "Truly God loves those who fight in His cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure."

Worthy of taking note is 5:36, which has allegedly been used recently by Almajiris to support their amputation of150 Youth Corpers in Kaduna State. See http://www.talkofnaija.com/news/150-youth-corpers-amputated-kaduna-state.
This bastardly act should be repudiated by any sane human being.

Bottom line is that Islam has verses whose interpretation could be broad and extreme, and which has been used by extremists and Jihadists to support violence. Christianity denounces and repudiates violence in any form, shape, or fashion. You cannot deny the existence and prevalence of terrorist groups within and beyond the shores of Nigeria, all of which justify their actions with the Quran.
As someone who has also studied the Quran, you are right in that the Quran advocates using those violent acts in self-defense and fighting against those who wage war against Islam; and that some of the verses chronicled historical events of battles fought by Muslims. One problem, however, is that the meaning of self-defense and fighting  the oppressed are not defined in the Quran. Osama Bin Laden claimed he was defending Islam when he killed over 3,000 innocent Americans in the September 11 attacks. Osama claimed he was fighting the U.S. because the U.S. waged war against Islam. Boko Haram claimed they are fighting those who wage war against Islam and that it was defending Islam when it killed innocent Nigerians who were supposedly reading western education--that western education is anti Islam.

The recent Almajiris who amputated 150 corpers claimed the corpers waged war against Islam by helping Jonathan win against over Buhari, which was their Islamic candidate. The Almajirs most likely used 5:36 to justify their actions, which says that the punishment for those who wage war against God and his disciples is that their hands and feet be cut, among others.

Another problem, however, is that the Quran did not restrict the timeline of the events to the time it happened. Many extremists think that those commands are open-ended and can still be applied today. Neither the Quran nor Islamic scholars have said that those events are an anachronism of modern rules of engagement.
I read both post, having read the previous “spirited defence” of these callous and mindless murders by Northern Youths (Almanjiris) by LagosShia and l am shocked that despite what happened, some Muslims still think it can be justified?
ALL Muslims are not bad or violent, for one. The Religion itself, which is the same practiced by Muslims in the South, did not put the knife or Gun in their hands to kill: THESE MURDEROUS CREATURES ARE JUST BLOOD-THIRSTY, AB-INITIO!
Let us condemn what is patently EVIL, instead of wasting energy on silly and obviously senseless arguments. NO ONE SHOULD KILL ON BEHALF OF GOD, HE DOES NOT NEED HELP BECAUSE HE IS POWERFUL THAN ALL THE MOST POWERFUL ARMIES COMBINED.

What more can a government do
, despite all the scholarships that Northern children are "gifted" and there Southern counterparts are not, yet the ones in the South are always eager to embrace education while the ones in the North are discouraged by their parents from taking advantage of these opportunities! It is no secret that "all you need to do as a Northerner, is to manage and just complete the schooling-cycle and you're made for life! Same cannot be said of Southern, educated Youths! Yet, we are deceiving ourselves like these Northern kids and their parents are interested in Western Education shocked  angry

Enough of these stupidly-silly justifications and defense!
Politics › Re: The Hausas (an Alternate Pespective) by lastpage: 12:59am On Apr 24, 2011
@Ibrahim B A
Broda, whence do you get your religious training from?
I am Christian but l have Northern and Southern Muslim friends.
I slept on the same bed for one year, with an Hausa Youth Corper, some years back and till today, we are still Pals.
He never gets angry over nothing (though, l could detect "tiny streak" of "fitful anger" just underneath his skin, if he got really angry but we learnt to live with that and he never lost control of himself anyway).
Tiny signs of the same "streak" l have observed in some of my friends from places like Akwa-Ibom / Calabar and a few places in the East.
Could it be that some TRIBES get "more intensely angry" than others?
Could it be that some TRIBES loose their cool more easily (maybe under provocation), than others?
What are psychologist saying about these "innate behavior"?
I wish someone with knowledge, will provide answers.

Having said the above, l appreciate your position and the candor, in your posts.

Is the Quaran these Imams and their hoodlums read, different from the one you (and others like you) read?

Its obvious that the Religion itself (Whether Christian or Islam) is NOT the Problem, The PROBLEM ARE THE "MORTALS" PLAYING god WITH RELIGION.

Like in the Churches, when the Bible says we should not seek the death of our enemies (As God was pleased with King Solomon, in the Book of 1Kings 3:5, 9 - 13, for not seeking the death of his enemies!); but l still hear the Pastor of my own Church regularly dishing out these "Tsunami Prayer Points" that God should destroy our enemies, during Sunday sermons!
And when you try to draw their attention to what is written in the Bible, they look at you with disdain and some daft members ask you: How dare you question the man of God! shocked  angry

Thus, we are saddled with "Teachers" who themselves, are not learned nor led by the spirit of God;
Satan and Money is their God but they hide under Religion.
Any "True Christian or Muslim" will avoid violence as much as possible and even much more, WILL UNDERSTAND THAT ONLY GOD HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE ANOTHER MAN'S LIFE.
There is no justification to kill another man, not to mention innocent people like Youth Corpers!

The Almajiri problem needs to be tackled quickly and swiftly.

Northern Muslims MUST also know that "WESTERN EDUCATION
" (if there is something like that)  is not synonymous with Western culture.
Some parts of "western culture" are pure Evil but Muslims in the North should not keep putting their children at a Social disadvantage by thinking that Studying Mathematics, English, Economics, Philosophy, Sciences and Geography is same as adopting western culture.

This is FALSE.

These subjects were actually started and developed early, in the Middle East and Far East. Later, Europe also caught up in form of the Greeks and Romans. So, its not Western Education, IT IS SIMPLY MODERN EDUCATION.

Moreover, Northern Parents can train their children to learn modern education but avoid immoral values that the West glorifies.
Its time the Governors of the Northern states and the parents who sire these criminals (but refuse to take care of them) are held accountable.
No one should bear children more than they can take care of (at least, be able to provide food and shelter for).
Why would someone who cannot take care of two children, marry four wives and bear 16-Children? Just to now disperse then on the streets?

I read there is a Child Act 2003 Law? I hear the Northern Governors have refused to enforce and sign it into their own state laws? Is these not a show of wickedness?

Even then, all these are no excuses for these "thirst for blood and disrespect for human life".
Its really scary to think that young men will take a "living and alive" grown man, woman or child, someone who could be their own Dad, Mother or sister, someone with the same breath of life in him, like themselves, and use a Knife to cut him to pieces, in warm blood!  angry angry
Even Cannibals kill their victims before eating them for food but these ones just cut them up for fun (they dont even eat them afterwards!  huh)
What manner of "Human being" can do these? Or are they not humans anymore? Its just Crazy!

I feel so sad about these events. cry cry

There are hundreds of them, probably thousands, except you have your own personal definition of "God's messenger" and "politician"
You dont need to wander afar to find the definition of  "a messenger of God" as used in the Bible! I even gave a few examples FROM THE BIBLE, in my former post.,.,, ,.as opposed to this your list of some  "20th century, modern-day, self proclaimed MOG " whose authority for the acquisition of that title, l can not honestly vouch for!

In case you miss it, go back to my Post and read again, the definition of "A Politician" and show me "one man" in The Bible, who fulfills that definition.

And again, the Bible did not ask us to wallow and die in ignorance but that we should "seek and search out the truth", so we can be free!
How can you then obey the Bible, in that context, if you cannot even ask QUESTIONS about issues that baffle you?

I am not for "insulting any Pastor" neither would l sanction the "gloating" over the misfortune of anyone, how much more Pastor Bakare! I do respect him a lot and my curiosity as to "What happened, that this has to happen", stems from my personal respect for him and his antecedents, over time. Asking "genuine questions" is an eternal right of any Christian or human for that matter. (if it was someone like Alao Akala that said these things, l'll probably hiss and pass it over! grin)
If you want to "Hero-worship" any Pastor, that is your choice and entitlement; feel free to close your eyes grin
Whats the story about being a joint author of the KJV? that was really funny l must say! cheesy

Thats aside, for now.

I cannot confirm this but anyone with access to the Punch Newspaper of this date can unearth it and verify the truth:
“Let me tell you the truth by the spirit of God, neither (President Olusegun Obasanjo), OBJ, Atiku (Abubakar), IBB and this tall one, (Muhammadu) Buhari are part of the new. They are part of the old that is decaying. That old one is passing away. The new is emerging and these ones are not part of that new.”
Pastor Tunde Bakare,  in the PUNCH of October 2, 2006.
If these statements credited to Pastor Bakare are true and correct, a few questions still baffle me:
1.) By the spirit of God: When God says YES, so it will be. The spirit of God never deceives or say falsehood!

2.) This tall one: If the spirit of God has told Pastor Bakare earlier, that Buhari IS NOT PART OF THE NEW NIGERIA BUT THE DECAYING PART, why (and what) on earth would make Pastor Bakare to align with "this tall one"? WHY? he could have aligned with any other person (Say Ribadu, that was not mentioned by "the spirit of God", in that revelation). Why "this tall one" in particular?

3.)Was Pastor Bakare not aware that as a man of God, he cannot ignore revelations given to him by God? Is he not aware that those who ignored the word of God, as spoken by prophets like Isiah and Jeremiah, Samuel, e.t.c., paid dearly for it? While l will not stand and accuse him (because he must have his reasons and out of respect for him), he owes people like me (baby Christians) a lot of explanations as to what informed "his decision" to align with "this tall one". Why?

4.) On the other hand, if Pastor chose to "IGNORE" that revelation and align with "that tall one", was it a blatant act of disobedience to the spirit of God?
*Or Was it because he had  "prior knowledge" of whence come from, that prophecy, as not of the spirit of God?
5.) As someone who had built-up a very solid reputation for speaking out against Evil, in retrospect, what and how does he view the comments attributed to him, before the election? Does those comments edify God, Christ and all they stand for?
Did he, a man of God and Peace, a Doctorate degree holder, ask people who are generally prone to violence, to go to Polling stations with matches and Kerosine! (To vote or to burn?). What was he thinking for Christ's sake? I think the Devil mus be at work here shocked

6.) And why has he not come out to condemn the violence and commiserate with those who lost the fruit of their life's labor? (That is what a child whom you train to graduate level and release to serve your country, is, to the Parents!). Does he not feel for these unfortunate people or is it still about "Politics as usual"?
If "that tall one" feels no remorse and thinks the killings/violation/arson are justified, what about the man who has the spirit of God in him? Does the spirit tell him they are justified too?
There are loads of baffling questions surrounding these issues. many questions and NO ANSWERS,.,.,.,. yet! sad shocked cry

Like any other person, I will sympathize with "them", when they have a "misfortune", be it Goodluck GEJ or Pastor Bakare.
On that note, l thank God no life was lost in the blaze.

I will not make pronouncement on what l dont have facts about but l would rather ASK QUESTIONS and wait for the ANSWERS.

1.) Who is a POLITICIAN? S-I-M-P-L-E-S, as we say: Someone who stands for and vies for an ELECTIVE OFFICE, by putting his or her name on the Ballot. Politicians are not appointed, they are voted for! They are not civil servants also.
Please note: Politician derives from the word "POLITICS". So, a Politician practices politics, as a Profession.

Now, ASK yourself: Did Jesus ever stand-up for elective office? Was his name EVER on the Ballot box?
Did prophet Jeremiah, despite his involvement in "Preaching the good news" to errant rulers EVER stand-up and put his name on a ballot box, and seek VOTES? NO!. Did he rule over some people, with their consent? NO!
SHOW ME ONE PERSON WHO EVER WAS GOD'S messenger, who was a Politician, IN THE VERY SENSE OF THAT DEFINITION.

This is where the confusion and arguments stems from!

Apostle Paul was a LAWYER, by Profession before he became a christian. HE was like the DPP, prosecuting on behalf of government but HE WAS NOT A POLITICIAN. He never put his name up on a ballot box, hoping to be voted-in for a POST.
Please take special attention of the words : POLITICS, VOTE, BALLOT BOX, ELECTION AND POLITICIAN, as they relate to one another

Like someone pointed out, Jesus could have "contested" against Julius Caesar or Pontius Pillate, he could have become a Politician (He urged us to pay tax as a responsible citizen though) but he declined that offer by saying he does not seek to rule over the current system of government and people.

Now, is it a crime for Christians to be involved in Politics (Just because Jesus never did)? I dont have a definite answer to that, yet. Not everything that is "undesirable" is a crime, though.

Now: *
Did Pastor Bakare "utter those words" credited to him? (Go to Polling station with Kerosine, an inflammable liquid used for fire, and Matches)? You be the judge.
*Did Pastor Bakare utter the Phrase "Wild, Wild North" (in reference to the Wild-Wild West Politics of the 60's when a lot of carnage was done in Western Nigeria through burning, also called "Wet-it era", as in "wet the house with petrol and burn it"wink? You be the Judge
*Does such utterances serve as incitement to "violent -prone", Northern Almajeris? You be the judge!
*Does he, as a well respected Pastor of the children of Christ, Have to say such things (if he said them)? You be the Judge!
*Did Pastor Bakare tell us , a few weeks back, that God told him that "That long one" (referring to Gen Buhari), and some others have no business with the future of this country? You be the judge.
*Do you think God lies or his words can be swallowed and reversed? You be the judge
*Now, coming out as the running-mate of the same person he has "prophesied against", is a somersault by WHOM? God or Pastor Bakare? You be the judge

I can go on and on but let us reflect on these few questions.

Having said that, NO CHRISTIAN MUST REJOICE OVER THE CALAMITY OF OTHERS! I did not say so, The Bible said so
.
I know emotions are still running very high over what happened in Kaduna and some Northern parts of the country;
I know a lot of families are still grieving their loss and may never recover til they die, l pray God will have mercy and show them favor as from now on. He will recompense them as he has done to Job, after he lost everything.
Let us remain sober, at all times, please.

Politics › Re: Breaking News: Fresh Bomb Blast Kill 12 In Kaduna by lastpage: 2:01pm On Apr 23, 2011
For those blaming GEJ over the bombings and wondering that he is WEAK: You are "partly only correct" as far as simply because, as the C-in-C, THE BUCK STOPS AT HIS TABLE!

Having said that, we need to look at the "situation of things on the ground" and be realistic and objective, as to "what" GEJ can do and "when" he can do it.

Take the following into consideration:

1.)  Nigeria is a tribally and religiously divided country: The implication of this is that a President (especially one from the opposing side), has to be very careful in taking "drastic actions" against the "other side", even when such actions seems necessary LESS he be accused of being "anti-North". People will always play on our divisions. They will say something like "He is trying to kill the Muslims/Northerners, because he is a Christian/Southerner! Thats a sure recipe for Civil War!

2.) We live in a democratic dispensation: The implication of this is that "there are rules and regulations governing what a President can do, How he can go about doing it, who (like the NASS) must give "approval" before he can do same, e.t.c. This means he cannot act unilaterally as he deems fit. He cannot be the accuser and the judge and that is why we have 3-Tiers of government. Currently, the NASS is a bunch of thugs that have no clue, how important their job is, to the nation. All they are interested in, is how to increase their own salary and entitlements, by fiat! But what do you expect, when Senatorial Seats pass from father to son, to daughter, to wife, to in-laws and concubines?. Its a shame cry

3.) Looking at the "circumstances" surrounding his emergence as President, in the last one year, (miraculously from being a humble Deputy Governor!) and the "intrigues" that went on for months before God exposed the Charlatans  like Turai and Andoaaka, and that former Minister for Agriculture under Yar Ardua, looking at how Yar Adua's ADC tried to murder him "if" he sat on the C-in-C's seat during the FEC meetings before Yar Adua's death was announced publicly (though we knew he was dead long before then and all those silly visits by Imams and Pastors, telling us he was doing 300-Press-ups per minute! grin ), points to one thing: GEJ needs to thread VERY CAREFULLY!
There is a cliche which goes like "When the Sea is rough, you dont also Paddle roughly".
GEJ cannot act like a Military President, in the last one year. He knows it but most citizens dont know this and they mis-interpret his cautiousness for weakness!

4.) There is another Cliche which goes like "A child does not ask or investigate those who killed his father, UNTIL his hand is firmly on the reigns of Power"! Anyone that knows anything about "Power" and how it works will concur that "You MUST CONSOLIDATE POWER" if you want to WIELD POWER and do so for sometime. To do otherwise is to get murdered like our former, lovable President, Gen Muritala Mohammed (or like Tunde Idiagbon (These two wanted good for Nigeria but they failed to "study and make good use, of certain principles of power!).

GEJ is an intellectual and has shown that "He can play the game of power". ALL Presidents or anyone in leadership position must know how to play the game, if they want to last in power.
Currently, l think when he settles in office, (after winning "his own mandate", as against a "transferred one"wink, he will "shake some un-shakables" and we will all be amazed (just like some are still baffled that he won the Presidential election wink ).  It takes time to "secure your position in power", if you rush, you get kicked in the ar.se. Slow and steady, wins the race!

The implication of ALL THE ABOVE is that:
a) GEJ knows those responsible for these bombing and other atrocities, just like most of us do. The "perpetrators" know he does know but are daring him to take a rash action against them NOW, knowing how vulnerable he was in the last one year (dont forget that he does not have this "military camaraderie", like OBJ, IBB or Buhari has! HE IS A CIVILIAN and loyalty in the Nigerian Military is NOT sacrosanct but depends largely on "Geo-Political and Ethnicity considerations"!)  Does anyone remember what that Hausa-GOC did during the JOS crisis last year? I wont delve into details here but those who can remember will get my drift vis-a-vis how GEJ cannot rely on our military to back him, so easily.

b) A Commander is only as powerful as those Troops behind him and how loyal they are to him. The greatest dividing force in Nigeria today, is our useless and treacherous military. (Granted, they are about 50% Northerners, 35% West/Easterners and 15% minorities.). Until GEJ is certain he can command at least 70% combined loyalty, he should/would not do anything drastic. Its very easy for "traitors in Uniform" to turn against their President. Remember how some Military top-brass turned against Ben Alli of Tunisia and he had no choice than to flee? (That of-course is desirable in that circumstance), What about Mubarak, it was the military that eventually broke his back! What about Ghadafi? When he can no longer command the confidence of his military, as some are beginning to fritter and defect, he is finished! What about Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast? When his military was behind him, he was mouthing-off until they started to defect and join the France-led, Allan Quattarra forces and the end was not too long in coming. You may not like or see what l am saying but it is the truth. Jonathan does not yet enjoy the "full confidence" of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

c) Until recently, CHANGE was not precipitated by the "POPULACE" but occurred when the ELITES have differing INTERESTS. (It came by way of "political maneuverings" or coup plots!). It is even worse in Nigeria because the various regions and tribes have a deep-sited distrust for each other. If GEJ takes a "necessary and required" but "drastic step" to crush these brigands in the North, (because the carnage is in the interest of people like Buhari and some Northen elements like the Ciroma-led group), it will quickly turn to a Civil War and GEJ is not ready for that NOW!
I am not even sure whether "The SOUTH" as a whole, is prepared for that NOW?
Look at Benghazi in Libya, despite their "readiness to bail-out" under Ghadafi, for some time now, it was still difficult and they are relying on Western help to survive!
Its not a secret that the Northerners have been amassing military weapons for some time (we hear of all the INTERCEPTED Containers and ship-load of arms and ammunitions, every now and then), Is the "South" stock-pilling weapons or are they just "shouting and abusing" from the roof top? Looking at the current setup of Nigeria, THERE CANT EVER BE A PEACEFUL SEPARATION. The North would not allow it because it is not in their interest. Period. Mark my words and reference it i future. Even in Sudan where they "agreed" it should be peaceful, there are pockets of clashes between the Muslim North and Christian South, as l speak now.
People like Orkah, who are "well disposed" and should have helped their people, are doing so in self-interest and for personal gains!

I can go on forever but let me pause here!

Before you start "blaming GEJ" for all these insecurity, just remember:
1.) that it did not start today,
2.) we are a divided nation, Religiously and Ethnically. (and even with respect to "core moral values", we are so different!)
3.) not having a military background, he does not command the full loyalty of the Armed Forces (those ones are only useful as Beer Parlour and Pepper Soup joint warriors! grin ; common contributing to National Infrastructure development or Military research, as obtainable in other countries, they are no-where to be found.)

LASTPAGE.

BTW: I am not particularly in-love with GEJ as a person (and l actually dislike his PDP, as a party) but l still try to remain as objective as possible in the analysis of events, as they affect the Nation.

Politics › Re: The Hausas (an Alternate Pespective) by lastpage: 1:54pm On Apr 22, 2011
I have read TWO VERY BRILLIANT CONTRIBUTIONS FROM "HAUSA-MUSLIMS" in the persons of "gadogado" and "Ibrahim A"

For gadogado, some of his assertions are not entirely correct but there are many correct ones there.
Examples:
It never fails to have my ribs crack ingwhenever southerners try to analyze the north, you know so little of it, about it, its history and even the religion. You draw (especially beaf) the most ignorant generalizations and stereotypes an individual with a brain could possibly muster. Its beyond imagination.
Just to correct some misconceptions.

1)The average northerner would be the happiest man alive if this country were to split. He wants a muslim nation with a muslim ummah, thats preferable to him.
True, the average Northerner does not give a hoot whether we split or not, he does not benefit from the looting perpetrated by his elite Norther brothers, who steal and deposit the nations purse in foreign accounts. Again, this is not the exclusive preserve of the Northern elites, (IBB, Abacha, Uba Ahmed, Atifku, e.t.c) Southern elites also loot, given the opportunity (The OBJ's, Anenihs, Alams/Ibori, Orji's, e.t.c). Thus, the PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE ELITES FROM BOTH SIDES (though the Northerner had spent more time at the cookie jar than anyone else; 38yrs!). If we MUST remain one country, a united Nigeria, then all sides must be ready and willing to accept and sacrifice THE ELITE LOOTERS in our zones.

2) Beaf, Almajiri culture extends to Senegal and even Sudan, its not just "Hausa culture" Almajiri's started out as islamic students who were sent to quranic schools far away from home and lived the monk lifestyle. Whether or not this practice is still compatible with modernity is another question entirely.
Be honest, "It is NOT another question". The Almajiri system is outdated, impoverishing for the Northern children and mothers, inciting to violence and as you can see, when you compare "an average" Southern 12yr old to his Northern counterpart, bodes no future for the Northern kid. Be honest about that; Even in Saudi Arabia, which is considered as the bastion of Islamic religion, they have embraced Western Education and you can see the benefit on their children and country.

3) Hausa-Fulani people have more knowledge of southerners, way more than southerners do of them!! The difference is all too glaring. The superiority complex stems from the simple fact that he, the hausa man learned to read and write hundreds of years before southern tribes knew what an alphabet was and were socially indoctrinated and thoroughly colonized by white colonialists. Hausa's hail from the east, Nubia to be exact, they have a glorious history, they stumbled on reading and writing in their contact with arabs through trans-saharan trade routes in the 13th century or before. They weren't colonized by arabs. So I'm giving you the root of any perceived complexes and prejudices Hausa's have regarding southern Nigerians. You call them illiterates, they call you ignorant slaves. HAHAHAHA If only you knew!
Again, you're not being honest here! Granted that the "Hausa learned alphabets" in 2000BC, before the Southerners, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE WITH IT TILL TODAY? How has it benefited their domain and children of today? Just learning to "recite the Quaran" off-hand or scribble it on boards does not constitute "Education". EDUCATION IS (the sound one as compared to religious indoctrination and fanaticism) KNOWLEDGE PUT TO GOOD USE AND HUMAN BENEFIT! Honestly speaking, can you say 'that', of the Nigerian Northerner, with all the "learning of Alphabets" as far as two million years ago? NO!
Teach your children "science, history, philosophy, Geography, e.t.c" and you would have benefited them, than making then canon-fodders to "violent and terrorist-inclined" Imans or Mullahs!
No offense.

4) I'd love to split the country, the only thing keeping southern Nigerians united at this juncture is your mutual hatred for the north, once a split is concluded, you'll turn on each other in your pursuit to dominate each other. The north would not have such a problem because there is a clear block majority.
This may be very accurate, but we can only second-guess NOW. Unfortunately, IT IS ALSO TRUE AND APPLICABLE, TO THE "MONOLITHIC NORTH"! You cannot tell me that the "Benue man, Berom or Junkun man" would want to continue to be subjugated and dominated by a Kano/Sokoto man who sees himself as superior, by lineage! Can you? It applies both ways but that itself, (is not an excuse or issue to cause worry and prevent splitting) would be resolved eventually and "equilibrium would be achieved" since all "Matter" eventually seek and achieve a state of equilibrium.

5) Oil is not a requisite for livelihood nor is it one for prosperity and growth. Nigerians go to many non oil exporting countries as economic refugees. So you can quit with this north loves oil mantra. It deviates from the facts on the ground.
THIS IS VERY CORRECT. It is only the "elite on both sides" who see the "Oil Money" as a cheap way to getting stinking rich and unfortunately, "The Awoof" has become ingrained into their system but dont forget, "if we split, the only people who will no longer have access to "awoof money" are the Northern elite (The southern elite will still have it because the oil comes from their domain! grin ). Thus, the "Northern elite" who represent the North (at the 'Looting Table') have a lot at stake and more to loose, IF WE SPLIT.
Again, Remember, when Ojukwu tried to split-away "the East" from the yoke called Nigeria, IT WAS THE NORTHERN DOMINATED NIGERIAN MILITARY AND POLITICAL CLASS WHO UNLEASHED THE "NIGERIAN" army (or Northern army, so to say), on them.
Of course, it could not have been successful, if the "WEST" did not foolishly cooperate with the Northern establishment!. Again, this "cooperation" was from the "Western Elites" like Awolowo who prefer to rule a "bigger Nigeria" than a fractured one (a bigger table, so to speak)!
But in 2011, the situation is very different and EVERYBODY IS PISSED-OFF with these mindless killings of Southerners, by some Northern Muslims!

6) I detest sharing a passport with southerners because I cannot travel anywhere without being suspected of being dishonest, fraudulent and scheming. Northerners are certainly not the ones that bring Nigeria this dirty image because their religion teaches being content and having pride in what you have.
I guess somebody has given you a "honest answer" to these assertion! NO SOUTHERNER HAS PUT A BOMB IN HIS PANTS OR ANYWHERE, TO DESTROY INNOCENT SOULS. This again lends credence to the fact that the kind of education that the Mullahs and Northern elites allow their children to get, is the destructive and dangerous one. They have not put their "age-long advantage" of exposure to the ALPHABETS, to good use. I guess most Southerners were very angry when the Western world put the Nation on the "terrorist list", instead of just the Northerners! or do you think that is justified?
Anyway, l can tell you that "The average Northerner Youth" may not be "academically and ingenuity-wise", capable and equipped,  for 419! It is not a chore for Almajeri-educated peeps! Only "very smart youths" can pull-off scam, though, l wish some of the Southern youths involved, would put their "smartness and education" to better use!

7) I reiterate, I'd love a split, absolutely wish for it. But Both southern and Northern elite would rather keep the status quo because it serves them in numerous ways. If you heard what Odien Ajumogobia said to the council on foreign relations, you'll understand exactly what I'm attempting to point out. if 2015 is the year Nigeria will split then I wish as a northerner that i could fast forward to that day. Typical northerners want to split more than you do. Go if you have the liver and ask them in kaduna or kano.

.,.,.,."Current Nigeria" serves the interests of not more than 10,000 individuals to whom all are in bondage to and these people have insisted that it remain one country to furnish their interests. The average northerner sees no oil money, smells non of it because its hoarded by the so called "elite" a split therefore implies he is losing absolutely nothing.
ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON. Dont have anything to add to this.

9) The fact remains that southern Nigerians understand so little of the north. It is clear from all that I hear and read that this is the case. Will beaf's comments on nairaland change anything or will nairaland have even the minutest baring on what happens in Nigeria, absolutely not!!!  You feel you hate northerners, trust me when I tell you they hate you more at this point!
Why not "educate" the Southerners more, about Northerners so they can understand and probably relate better.
If "Twitter and FaceBook" where the precursor of the current "ARAB UPRISINGS" that has changed governments that have been entrenched for over forty years, l tell you, you can only ignore "Social Networks" out of ignorance. It is "the information and the speed at which they spread it" that has the power to mobilize and precipitate CHANGE. "Nairaland" falls into this category, on a very small scale

10) the OP said alternative perspective and some of you jumped to spray your hateful venom. The funny thing is which is my last point that northerners are not nearly as bigoted as southerners. Kano voted en mass for MKO Abiola over Bashir Tofa who is from Kano. The north voted overwhelmingly for MKO in 1993. Some how I doubt that southerners would vote for a northerner to that extent. PLEASE break this country up, this is what the majority want but will the slave masters oblige?
*If you consider that MKO was more of a Northern benefactor than any Nigerian alive in 1993!
*If you consider that it was the same "Northern Elite" that prevented him from achieving his mandate, from the freest election in Nigeria, JUST BECAUSE HE IS A SOUTHERNER (He is a Muslim, like most Northerners!),.,.,.,.,.,.,
Then you will reconsider your statement
.
Even Southern Muslims who have lived all their lives in the North are considered as INFIDELS and are slaughtered like COWS, under the flimsiest excuse! Thats not EXTREME tribal and religious bigotry, right?

11) The riots in the north, where emirs (traditional symbols of islam) palaces were burned to the ground! What does that imply? that the riots are generally over perceived injustices, pent up frustrations, suspicion of colluding to disenfranchise them and deep mutual suspicion that exists between them and xtians and southerners!! Instead of wasting your energy on insulting northerners, why not divert it towards making our dream of a split come true?
The simple QUESTION you should ANSWER yourself is that When Umaru Yar Adua was rigged-in in 2007 (in a Guinness World record for rigging)
WHY DID THE SOUTHERNERS NOT START SLAUGHTERING INNOCENT NORTHERNERS IN THE SOUTH? Or do you think "perceived injustice, pent up frustrations, suspicion of colluding to disenfranchise them and deep mutual suspicion that exists between them and xtians and southerners " is the sole exclusive of Northerners?

The unpalatable TRUTH which you must accept is that Northerners are more prone to violent and mindless murders, than Southerners and the reasons have to do with their "religious-Almajeri indoctrination", extreme bigotry and fanatism and their "wishful sense of superiority". Despite the graphic details and coverage of the murder of "priced Southern Christians" in the North, Southerners have kept heir cool and refused to be brought down to this level of animalism and barbaric-savagery displayed by "most" Northerners. See, we are just too different!

In summary, the earlier we face the truth and address the root of the problem, the better we can proffer a viable solution.
Nigeria would not the the first nor the last to split.
We can sit down and do it in a discussion (like civilized people do) or we can engage in a mindless civil war like we did in 1966 only that the outcome in 2011 will CERTAINLY be different. Let the population decide in a Referendum (like in Sudan!), as for the ELITES on both side, they would incite and threaten everyone, so that they can maintain the status-quo but as we say in local parlance (Dem never reach enough): Woon-po too wink
Remember: Those who make peaceful change impossible, make violent change inevitable and unavoidable".

@Ibrahim B.A Thank you a million.
Someone like you, l pray, will be one of those to lead the North, in the event of a break-up, if the problem you raised are addressed (and they can be!), the North has nothing to fear from a break-up. Sharia, is like the SAP-IMF conditionalities of the 80's. Good policy, Bad implementation by selfish leaders who use it for selfish reasons. Result: FAILURE.

The question we should ask the likes of Abagworo and his kins, is: What manner of people will kill a YOUTH CORPER, who is serving his fatherland?
FOR WHAT?
ON WHOSE BEHALF? Buhari and Jonathan are one side each, of the same coin,,,,The same Bourgeoisie class of rulers!

If the election was rigged, is the Youth Corper the "rigger" or beneficiary?

Even lets assume you are so blood-thirsty, why not go after JEGA or the PDP chairman or even Jonathan himself?
Why not go after some very VIP?
Why kill an innocent Youth Corper?
What is the gain in doing this madness? and its not the first time nor will it be the last!

I m beyond grief!

Lets reflect on the parents and family members of these two innocent souls: Lets leave Politics out of these for a moment!
Imagine the "waste" that their investments have been laid to?
Imagine the pain of training a daughter and a son through University and then to be killed by one "bloody b*stard" whose parents bore and threw him to the dogs?

How come its always Southerners that bear the brunt of this senselessness?

I live in a part of Lagos where there are loads of Northerners and we are friends. One of them even knitted a native Hausa cap for my son!
We made them very comfortable and welcomed. We dont discriminate against them and will fight on their behalf, if we see them being mishandled.

In the midst of this, l printed the Corper's picture and showed it to "Alhaji" (as we call the Hausa leader) and told him what happened.
I asked him if he thinks we in this street, can do this to them, here in Lagos?

He shook his head "NO" and shed tears! He said "wan-na aske nii"! He then translated for me: These (killers) are dogs!

I still think the Hausas have a long way to go and a lot to learn, in "human relations and cohabiting", especially the ones that have never left their little corner of the country. No offense.

I wont heap the blame on Jonathan BUT l will expect that when "he is grounded in power", he will set-up aninvestigation into th ekilling of these Corpers, especially. Its like killing a member of the armed forces or a U.N force member; the "Corpers" represent the nation and must be protected.

The dead have no use for prayers, but l pray that God will bring succor to the lives of the parents of these young ones.
The pain would last for a life-time and would probably end the life of some of their parents.
I am a parent too and knows how it feels.

Disgusting.

The crisis in the North is almost blinding us from the potential crisis brewing in South-East and South-South.

Ohakim might be rigged in

Theodore Orji might be rigged in

Akpabio might be rigged in

Uduaghan might be rigged in.

It is already glaring that the majority of the people of the 4 states will not vote PDP.I therefore expect crisis especially in Akwaibom.

Why are you now a Prophet of DOOM?
Why dont you make "wicked predictions" about your own states/domain, up-North, instead of trying to stoke hatred in another part of the country?

What people like you dont know (or knew but decide not to acknowledge), is that THE SOUTHERN NIGERIANS ARE FAR "SMARTER PEOPLE" THAN YOU GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR!

Despite their mis-givings about PDP as a party, Southerners are "smart enough" not to throw away the baby, with the dirty bath water,,,,BY VOTING GEJ!! wink wink

How on earth does Buhari hope to win an election when he keeps hopping from one party to another and just 24hrs to a Presidential election, his alliance with the ACN CRUMPLED like a park of cards?

How come YOU NORTHERNERS always think the only solution to your grievance, is to LOOT, BURN AND KILL SOUTHERNERS?
DONT YOU VALUE HUMAN LIFE, AT ALL?

Dont you for one moment think you are re-enforcing the widely held perception that you guys are "lower animals" and incapable of handling any form of civilization?
When Ghadafi said Nigeria should be split, you people derided him.
When Gideon Orkah tried to do the same, it is the same "Northern Extract" of military brass that killed that dream!
When Ojukwu tried to emancipate his people from these useless contraption, it is the same Northerners that would have none of it!
Wetin sef?

C'mmon, grow up, get a life or f*ck-off!.
Educate your people, spread the wealth, teach your people about value and sanctity of human life and lets see, whether you will win an election!

The only way a Northerner would ever rule this country again, IS BY QUOTA SYSTEM! grin grin You cant win an election cos you're the minority.

The West, South, S/East, East, Middle Belt are all smart now wink wink Together, we have "United to cage" the Northerner, for good!

Lets keep it focused!

Lets focus on the petition of Buhari/CPC instead of conjuring various reasons, for and against, the success of the election.

IMO, of ALL the reasons given by Buhari, ONLY ONE IS WORTH INVESTIGATING.

WHY? Others are mere SPECULATION!
For example, you cannot determine "turn-out percentage" in "A STATE", based on the few polling stations in your area! It is an aggregation of turn-outs in ALL polling stations in that state. Now, no single person has that fact since "movement" was restricted and ypou can be in all polling stations at all times! FACT!

The interesting statement concerns where Buhari "alleged" that EXCEL PROGRAM INSTALLED ON INEC MACHINES WAS PROGRAMMED TO DEFRAUD HIS VOTES!

That is worth investigating. And it is simple to investigate too moreover, the process/procedure for doing so scientific amd mathematical.
We simply use a test case on a random selection of machines, from INEC's pool

But let me add that "Microsoft Excel" was written by Microsoft and it is the same l have on my machine, that INEC has. No "special edition" was produced for INEC! huh huh
Sounds like crying wolf where there is none.

But to assauge the feelings of Buhari and CPC, let us/INEC/ the whole nation,  put the machines to TEST.

We may dislike PDP but we cannot and must not "transfer that aggression" unto Goodluck Jonathan.

Violence would neither "test the machines" nor do a "probability analysis", which is what Buhari/CPC needs, to prove their case.

Killing Southerners and Christians in the North is foolish and mad. It only shows the "animal instinct" in some set of people.

I hope they use their brains and dont turn Nigeria into Ivory Coast or Somalia  BUT if its violence they want to use in achieving their "aims", NO REGION HAS A MONOPOLY OVER VIOLENCE!
TWO CAN PLAY THE GAME!
Meanwhile, CONGRATS TO THE WINNER.

@lastpage

People like you are the problem we have in Nigeria.
Keep it up
@userlist,
On the other hand, l think people like you are actually a "representation and manifestation of Nigeria's problems"!

You allow your "personal hatred of "one person to becloud your judgment" of the the big/whole issue!

What l still dont understand (in as much as l dont like GEJ or any of the current sycophants calling themselves politicians) is WHY every little thing that happens in Nigeria MUST be attributed to GEJ?

I agree with it, when people point out some of the wrong things he has done; Like giving a press conference over the first bomb blast in Abuja, before any investigation has been concluded. That was jumping the gun!

But how come when you fart, it is because of GEJ?
When your car tyre busts, It is GEJ?
When your driver buys less fuel than you paid for, in your car, it is GEJ
When your wife dumps you, it is GEJ's fault! grin
Just about anything we can think of, is caused by GEJ? Peeps have completely lost their sense of reasoning, just because they dont like GEJ!

This is what l tried to show "you and your likes" in my reply: Dont attribute everything, even your own failure, to GEJ.
Dont expect GEJ to turn Nigeria into Eldorado, in one year, when all other Presidents have not and could not do same in 50years! IT IS AN UNFAIR EXPECTATION.
Period! This is all l set to point out.

My reply was not and has nothing to do with Ibori.
Like all Thieves, the day of reckoning will come for him, sooner than expected.
And again, granting someone "Bail" is never the same as "acquitting him of criminal charges". He will still stand trial.

And please, learn how "Politics" is played in Nigeria. read what "ideylaff" wrote below, in his/her post.
All these thieves dont fight each other, it is "ordinary laymen" like me and you that wring our necks off, on their behalf!
They dont even give a hoot whether we exists or not.

All those "display of fighting" they do in public, is just to give us something to "chew on" while they loot us dry!
Can you ever imagine that "Dimeji Bankole and Gbenga Daniel" would enter the same Helicopter (Wish it crashed! grin ), after their "public fight" over the opening of that Otta Bridge? Think about it, think about how the "lay men" nearly killed themselves, taking sides!

That is Nigerian Politics for you grin grin Very wicked Politics! angry
Politics › Re: Breaking News! James Ibori Granted Bail by lastpage: 2:24pm On Apr 03, 2011
@userlist This is the answer to your "amazement"! wink

I'm amazed at Nigerians for supporting ineptitude. (GEJ)

1.  When Alesiamegha was stealing Goodluck folded his hands and just watched? (impossible): If u read your constitution, you will know that Depuy Gov'nors are just lame ducks. What did the Deputy of Lagos or any other state do? Tinubu sacked Bucknor that tried to raise her nose! grin
2.  What was his achievement as deputy governor? None: His achievements are the same as that of his Superior (Governor), Go check it out
3.  He lied when he said he spoke to Yar'udua on numerous occasion when he was sick (we are all witness): Dont manipulate history! GEJ was "completely shielded by the National Security Adviser to Yar Adua and people like Aandooaka! Dont blame GEJ for that at all
4.  His wife is as corrupt as any big corrupt person in Nigeria (remember 2 EFCC cases): This story has been on since 1999, how come Ribadu (chief prosecutor!) did not jail her or does she also have immunity? Better still, you yourself should take a "citizen action" or a "class action" against her, abi?Instead of just yarning!
5.  No balls, remember how Turai caged him before and after he became acting president: He has children so l can guarrantee his "excellent balls"! grin If he was fighting Turai over a camatose Yar Adua, same double-mouthed people like you will still come out to claim he wanted o kill the man and his wife so as to usurp his Post! Haaba, human-"beans"
6.  Remember how security officials took over Abuja airport. Stop displaying ignorance publicly, that "security arrangement was done by the NSA Mallam and in case you have short memory, Yar Adua's assistant was ready and under instruction to "shoot GEJ" if he dared seat on yar Adua's seat, during FEC meetings. Go back and see the pictures and see the "mai guard carry a gun, something that has never happened before duringa FEC meeting!
7.  He was in-charge of the committee that looked after power generation during Yar'udua (as minister):  Dont give a dog a bad name o you can hang it. GEJ was a Vice President, Not a Minister as you scandalously quoted! Again, I think you should direct any anger about "Power Generation", to OBJ. It was not GEJ who swindled the country of 16Billion naira and nothing to show for it.
8.  Said MENDs are not terrorist: Anyone that uses "Force and Terror" to achieve political objective, can be tagged a Terrorist. Now, Terrorist or terrorism might be the only means available to achieve a desirable end, as in the case of the Palestinian but that has nothing to do with the definition afterall, the U.S, U.K and the whole E.U is working hand-in-hand with Libyan Terrorist, as we speak now! Kini big deal?
9.  Received Bode George with open hands: I have checked and re-checked, l did not see GEJ in that reception. I saw OBJ of course and that Baba promptly did a U-Turn by saying he was deceived to attend angry Do you need spectacles o recognize that GEJ is a different person from OBJ? or is this just a case of "smear campaign"?
10. He said Babaginda is his mentor: Ribadu also said same and IBB "endorsed Ribadu"! Buhari too has had meetings with about any A-theif-ku in the political space. That is just "politics of numbers" since democracy is all about numbers. May be you're too young or too naive to realize this? Grow Up please!!
11. OBJ is his Godfather: As far as the south and West of Nigeria is concerned, you cannot discount OBJ out completely. A wise soldier knows not to fight ALL his enemies at once. Give GEJ more credit and intelligence than you want to. He deserves it and you will only underestimate him at your own peril,,,,,,,when he finally wins the election.
12. Tony Aneni is his Godfather. GEJ can actually make as many people that he thinks can corner votes for him (due to their political influence and amount of "mumu" follower-ship, its their vote that counts anyway!) HIS GOD FATHER AND MOTHER! Its the end that justify that kind of means and in democracy, what counts is the number of votes, not how many buffoons you have alienated. If l were GEJ,l will even make "you userlist", my Godfather,,,except that you dont count at all tongue Get it?
13. EFCC/ICPC is dead under his watch: Even Obama willnot take certain decisions during this his first term else, it would hunt him in re-election! For example, he could have forced Israel to "stop settlement expansion" in the Palestinian lands but he knows what the Israeli lobby and their apologist would do to his re-election! grin Such things, like GEJ ruffling the EFCC, is left till after he wins the election. Get smart or dont be a politician. Go and sell groundnut pls
14. Halliburton/Siemens/Julius Berger scandal hasn't been giving priority: You are jumping like Boys Scout! The man has spent about one year in transition and you want him to solve all the riddles in Nigeria? How come Nigeria is not America today, if that is how it works? Is GEJ now a judge of the High Court or Supreme Court? Is he the IPO or I.G of Police? Abeegi, Clueless people should stop commenting on what they know nothing about!
15. Hasn't done anything about the bomb blast all over the country: Bomb blast are a result of "injustice and un-equal yoking together of different nationalities making up Nigeria. Only a "break-up" or convening of "Sovereign National Conference" will resolve that. You cant do all that in one year. give the man some slck and stop poisoning yourself.
16. External reserve depleted under his watch: Again, you are being economical with the truth. Yar Adua and his "kitchen cabinet" (Andoaaka, Minister for Agriculture, NSA, e.t.c) ar the ones responsible for that. Like l said, you can only fight those kin of Cabal, "when your foot is firmly on ground", not when you thinking about re-election. Whether we like it or not, "evil people are also powerful and they can deploy both fiannacial and human resources against you. if you are not firmly rooted. Go ask Gov Fashola about this issue, and his House Members and then you will get my drift.
17. Excess crude oil account depleted under his watch: This is no different from your point 16. Again, we operate a federal system of government and each tier of Government is independent thus, if the whole federating units say "we want these money shared amongst us, the President has no other say, its a democracy, not a military government you know? Go grab some O-Level Government Textbook and do some catch-up please wink
18. Agreed to a debate but chickened out in the last minute

19. Uduahan is a wanted man in England but GEJ make sure he won his re-election: Thats not GEJ's problem! When the People of Tunisia got fed-up, they revolted and overthrew Ben Alli, When they got fed up with Mubarak, they "put their money where their mouth is", so to say. Same is happening in Libya now. In Nigeria, all people like you do is criticize and make a whole lot of noise! All motion and no movement! Demonstrate and push Uduaghan out and stop waiting for GEJ or anyone else.
20. Almost all known rouges in Nigeria today is a friend to GEJ: Dont blame GEJ for that, blame those "Smart Rogues"! grin EVERYONE, (and that includes you yourself), will be friendly with GEJ as a sitting President! Even OBJ still has friends! Its just common sense. He wants vote and some of  these thieves carry a lot of followership among people like you! The Thieves want state protection and being friendly with the President is a lot of INSURANCE! grin Go figure out the rest bro.
21. He said power problem will be a thing of the past in December 2010 (now shifted to 2015): At least he was humble enough to say the truth and eat humble pie. Expectations and reality are two different things. I would rather he promise 2015 (based on reality), than tell us it would be there in 2012 only to have our hopes dashed. I know Nigerians dont like truthful leaders, they deserve "the Maradona" witha gap-tooth grin
22. GEJ doesn't know how many percent of the budget has been implemented: Its not even his own budget! We have a "Budget steering and implementation committee". The President only gets BRIEFED about what is going on, he does not open all the books one after another. Learn how government works and stop giving yourself headache!
23. Igbinedion is charged with corruption but GEJ right hand man is Igbinedion's deputy: At least it was not the "Deputy" that was charged! Can a son answer for the sins of the father? How much more when its "Oga and Deputy"? Take the example of Fashola and Tinubu, when they both were in Government of Lagos. Do you get it? Tinubu, we know! Fashola, we now know,,,,,,,fill-in the gaps please. wink
24. He sent Orubebe to South Africa 6mths. to see Orka before the independent bomb blast: And what nonsense does this imply? If Orka is problematic as claimed, any new President needs to "try and sort him out" so that they dont keep causing him problems, abi? Abeegi, say something else joo!
25. Patricia Etteh/Farida Waziri given national award by Goodluck Jonathan: Stop displaying ignorance publicly. Go and find out who and who is responsible for national Awards; then comeback here and tell us if its part of the President's responsibility. He only does the "ceremonial conferment". I dont mean to be rude but whats your level of education, if l may ask?
26. Called south west political leaders bunch of rascals: GEJ is not the first person to say that! Even yourself made a reference to Bode George up there! Truth is, there are too many Rascals in the South West. People of the South West know them and this is a "no brainer" for GEJ. He only said what is common in the air. Next Please!
27. Junket around the globe with too many aids (no wonder our reserve is no more): Its called "International Diplomacy". I bet Hillary Clinton has mae more travels in the last two Months than GEJ has made in one year and she is not even a President! Wake up an smell the coffee boy!
28. During Yar'adua we had 60 plus advisers and assistant now GEJ added about 57: Thats at least, four less, right? Means GEJ is moving inthe right direction or where you expecting him to have more?
29. He made his Senegalese tailor and his wife hair dresser personal assistant: I guess it is your own "Tailor" you want him to patronize? (Something more like "Costume Director"  grin is more appropriate!) And come to think of it, someone who manages your image and appearance is certainly your "personal assistant" or is it the "grammar" that you cant understand?
30. Bribed those that voted for him during the primaries with $7,000 (multiplied by 2000 + people): Kini big deal When Attiku bribes $5,000? Do you expect Atiku to "out-bribe" Mr. President? I would be disappointed. All our political gladiators use money to achieve their end. Our Silly populace are the ones that also "demand and get" these money or is it Ghosts that he bribed? Go siddon joo, if the "Tithe" no reach your side, na im make you holla!
31. Refuse to bring those bad eggs that prevented him from becoming acting president: He he was busy doing that, then the same people like you will go  to town to say he is too "Vindictive and has no forgiving spirit"! haaba, human "beans"!
32. Yar'udua's signature was forged on the supplementary budget (nothing done till date): Again, "There is a time an season for everything". Cool down Bro, the opportunity is not yet lost.
33. Yar'udua's security vote was stolen during the saga ( nothing done till date): Thats a question for the National Security Adviser (Tilde, l think), to answer. Again, just wait till GEJ has secured power properly.

Finally, it is unsual for me to spend so much time answering or responding to such childish questions as above but l think we  are in a "silly-season" where every Tom, Di.ck and Harry who does not like President Jonathan , goes to town with some hate-filled story.
Its okay to disagree but it is wickedly-foolish to slander him.

I am not a fan of GEJ or any other useless Nigerian Poli-trick-cian for that matter.

I watched WestBrom yesterday and l paid attention to Osazee!
He was magnificent, blistering and the commentator commended his athletism!

Then it suddenly struck me that Osazee cant be so much injured as not to be able to play on Tuesday (for Siasia), and to perform th eway he did on Saturday! If he was that much injured then he could not have "miraculously recovered" 150%, to play he way he did on Saturday.

Bottom-line: He was feigning injury (maybe to avoid one and be able to perform as he did on Saturday!).
.I guess Siasia knew the was pretending to be injured and laid it out to him.

I hope other players learn from this: you can easily go from glory to ignominy, if you start "acting-out"!
A word is enough, buckle up Osazee and keep your mouth in control.
Sports › Re: Osaze Odemwingie Lashes Out At Siasia On Twitter by lastpage: 12:04pm On Apr 02, 2011
Enough Please!

Osaze is a good lad, committed and well-behaved.
We know this from "yaaro".

Lets situate the current issue and tell him the "home truth".

If he was a Man-U player, and he says "that" about Sir Alex Ferguson on Twitter, WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN TO HIM?

Remember Ronaldo? Remember Wayne Rooney? These are stars way-ahead of Osazz!

Respect begets respect and in the current order and heirachy of things, The Coach is "superior" to the Player

A good and disciplined player MUST NEVER OPENLY criticize his coach, no matter what!

Siasia is a lovable coach and is very approachable, even if he asked you to play, despite your injuries, it is because he has "fate in your abilities"!

Sir Alex was asking Rooney to play so many matches, despite his injury!
Same for that "Arse Whinghy", all coaches do it.

SO my advice yo Osazz is that: Make a private call to your Boss and apologize unreservedly to him! Who knows, you too may become a National Coach one day and you will not take that 'shaete' from any player.

LESSON 101: Beware of what you say on these "Social Websites", they are not as private as you think,,,,,and may come back to hunt you for long.

Easy, Osazee, take it easy.

I think its high time we have a "very punitive law" that stipulates severe penalties for owners of "mad dogs" (l dont mean Ghadafi! grin ) who negligently or otherwise, fail to keep them under leash and proper supervision!
Some of these brutal dogs are worse that being faced with a loaded gun!

I have seen owners who deliberately use these "unfriendly dogs" to scare others!

Mind you, l am a dog lover myself (l do have have a Roth and an Alsatian) but l dare not leave those dogs to roam around (especially where children can be scared or bitten) except in the dead of the night, within the walls of my fence wink
Again, l vaccinate them and take them for "check-ups" like family members.

To allow your dog to bite someone else (and with a possibility or risk of death) is just criminal.

I dont like anything "Indian or Lebanese", when it comes to employment!
For that Minister to be telling PHCN staff that the company will employ them and would not bring in foreigners, shows that even the Minister is compromised!

Go to any company where "Indians in particular", have held any senior post and you will pity the Nigerian staff!
*First, they would ask the Nigerian staff to "train the indians and then make the indians their master!
*They would then ensure that only indians are in sensitive and progressive areas (areas where personal development of staff can occur)
Eventually, all the local lads would be locked on menial jobs and finally frustrated out.
Its happened over and over again and one of the Telecoms company is currently suffering that fate!

Employ "one indian", employ all indians, is the motto!

Mind you, l dont have anything against indians personally, l just dont like "a parasite that consumes its host"!
