To be candid, the guy went overboard, he shouldn't have called out their names, he shld have js done that in a subtle manner.
He was actually fighting for the right of the students, but he did it in the wrong way
It is caused by this mentality of "l can do as l like".

No Diplomacy, No decorum, No tact...... just the usual rambunctious, garrulous behaviour!

He could have said what he said, reach the same audience and have the same effect, without making himself a canon-fodder for School officials who are looking for a scapegoat!

A lot of our younger folks still dont understand that this internet is no longer anonymous and whatever you say or write in/on it can be used against you.
They do not understand that gone are the days when you can just "machete" someone's reputation online without any worry or need to back it up with facts.

Even if the decision to rusticate him is rescinded, how can he enjoy peaceful learning in that school, under the same set of lecturers and officials?
He just set himself up for frying!
grin grin

Lesson learned!

Let him withdraw from the School, sit for JAMB again and pursue his University Degree in another School, if he is bent on having a degree.
He can still rise up and become the VC of that same University in future. undecided undecided

I just hope this "greedy generation" will stop EQUATING MONEY ......to KNOWLEDGE!
University Education (if you actually applied yourself diligently to it), gives you knowledge

Money is money, .....to buy things and satisfy needs.
KNOWLEDGE is POWER.... it encompasses everything, including Money
Even the Bible asked us to "seek Knowledge" first.

Those who have Knowledge (sound education) will never worry about Money because "Money will keep chasing after them".
Go and look at guys working in places like LNG, Chevron, e.t.c whose earnings are just too embarrassing to mention, legitimate money!

And they do not have to kill or ritualize someone or pirate somebody's work or import fake products or kidnap anyone!

Fools run after Money while the "wise" seek knowledge.... which adds unlimited wealth.

If you see a University graduate who says his Degree is worthless, you have seen a graduate who mostly likely cheated to graduate.

First, let me say that this woman has a track record of "service to the nation"... She is a retired teacher!
She has taught many a Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, e.t.c and has an impeccable record of honesty and integrity.
She is an administrator per excellence, as the head of a school for many years.... That is why she is "Mama Teacher".
Teachers, the hardworking and honest ones among them, will ALWAYS have my respect!

Now would you rather someone with such record rule you ..... or some illiterate, 'stumble-on-money' no-brainer?

For those saying she wants to come and "eat money", l think her records of service speaks for her as someone with integrity otherwise, she would have left the teaching profession long ago and dable into politics!
Anyone who can teach for thirty five years and retire honorably as she did, is not after money.

Even at that, l would rather people like her "eat some money" (they deserve it) that crass illiterates who have not produced anything intheir life time, walk away with our $21Million dollars an still have the effrontery to rub it in our face.
I would rather an "old woman" like this who has served the nation meritoriously, rule me that some 'stumble-on-money" yahoo-yahoo or ritula murder "Yooth" who has nothing to show for his/her past contribution to the nation.

What we need in this nation are NEW, DECENT PEOPLE coming out to occupy political positions so we can gain from their experience and integrity.
The "Yooths" so far have disappointed greatly.
Dimeji Bank-Ole was a much touted "Yooth" until he showed the older thieves that their own stealing was still "Analog".
Even Mama "Digital" Piss is showing us that age has nothing to do with character!

Bukola Saraki
is a "Yooth' whose life history is resplendent with looting anything in-sight! From looting Savannah Bank dry (where he was MD) to looting the coffers of Kwara State, to now Padding national Budget!
Dezziani Madueke, Stealler Oduah, FFK, Fayose, Amaechi, e.t.c can be considered as "Yooth-ful" but they have shown that they are all rogues.
Is it not the same "Yooths" crying here that will carry placard in support of those who have looted their future?

The current set of young "Yooths" are just too ignorant, too cheap and too greedy to make good leaders.
Maybe it not all their fault, they were born, and grew up in an environment where and when looting, fast money (like Yahoo-yahoo, Rituals, Kidnapping, e.t.c) is the in-thing.
They do not cherish hard work neither do they have "values" of any sort
.

I just pity the future btu l stil believe there are small, small pockets of Youths and elderly who can still do this country some good.
Carry-go, Mama Teacher.... Ijebus are behind you but that PDP party you joined nor be am o, you should have looked for a "non-mainstsream" party like KOWA or even Labour.

PDP and APCheat are two sides of the same coin

discusant:
But northerners you say that do not go school have continued to rule Nigeria either directly or through proxy. Why and how?
Because the southerners do not understand politics of Nigeria.

The southerners do not understand the fraud in creating 20 states in once one northern Nigeria, but only seventeen states in the once two southern regions of Nigeria.

To win to become president of Nigeria, a candidate needs 25% votes from 2/3 of 36 states.
So a northern Nigeria candidate stands 100 million better chances to win to become president than a southern Nigerian.

The apolitical southerners still see northern Nigeria of large land mass and believe that having 20 new states in the north is justified. But it is not. Because land mass is never used as criterion to divide and create new federal units like states, provinces, regions etc from the existing federal units that entered into a federation.

Who is that US leader that can divide the very large southern states of Texas or California into say, four new states each, but divide smaller northern US states into two each? Never.

In the south, Yoruba and Igbo, the two largest and most apolitical groups fight themselves.
Your last paragraph is the BEGINING and END of the whole story why the NORTH would continue to have an advantage.

Remember, OBJ won against a Northerner in his two terms.
Remember that Buhari, a Northerner has lost the Presidential elections TWO TIMES in the past.
Remember that in 2011, both Yoruba and Igbo came together to vote for Ebelete Jonathan, a Southerner?
But the Kleptomaniac and looter squandered all the "goodwill" so much so that the Yorubas have no choice than to kick him out!
Remember that prominent Igbos like Chukwu Merije, Nzeribe, e.t.c (and Yorubas) have not been supporting Northerners, against their own Southerners

So, let us not just shift all the blame on Northerners, let us correct our own faults FIRST... before pointing fingers at Northerners.

If Jonathan had ruled this country with balls and honesty (at least his wife, a nonentity who had never produce ordinary pure-water, wont have $21Million in her account!)...... the Northerner wont be anywhere near the Presidency TODAY.

The Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) has been having a running battle with these sort of QUACKS for some time now

The problem with most Nigerian is that they "confuse" HAVING MONEY, with KNOWLEDGE!
Any fool can stumble on Money, steal Money, do Yahoo-Yahoo to get Money, Sing to get Money, Loot treasury to get Money, e.t.c.... especially in a corrupt society like Nigeria.
But it takes TIME, EFFORT, INTELLIGENCE, PATIENCE and DEDICATION to STUDY and ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE.
Not everyone can muster those qualities.

Infact, this thread has revealed a lot about those Nigerians who are academic failure, who in turn want ot encourage others ot be like them, as a sort of consolation.

I am happy that there are Graduates/Students like the two people l have quoted above.

I have also read the post of a few people, who said "their University Education is a WASTE"!
shocked shocked

Well, l feel really sorry for these types because there problem is actually not the University education but a combination of Acute Ignorance, Mental Laziness and Bad Advice.

Let me explain:

1.) IGNORANCE: Those folks that think a University graduate is supposed to be able to 'open a vehicle's Engine like a road-side mechanic or run wire from Nepa Pole are just ignorant of what University education is all about.

For the avoidance of doubt, University education is just to OPEN YOUR MIND TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS CAPABLE OF "IMAGINING ANYTHING" (CONCEPTUALISATION) ............BECAUSE IF IT CAN BE "IMAGINED", IT CAN BE DEVELOPED.
Forget the fact that we live in an environment where that "imagination" is not DEVELOPED due to lack of basic infrastructure... but that is a problem of "Bad Governance" perpetuated mainly by CORRUPTION, ....not "bad" University education!

So, these folks are ignorant of why they went to the University. Plain and Simple.

2.) MENTAL LAZINESS: It is often said that "No knowledge is wasted".
This means that once you imbibe KNOWLEDGE, there is ALWAYS something you can do with it.
University education, by "opening your critical mind", imbibes knowledge in you.

But what you do with that knowledge, is a function of whether you are mentally lazy or not.

Take for example, that one that said he is studying Computer Sc. and "knows nothing" about programming!
First, there are many areas of Computer Science and programming/Coding is only one of those speciality.
There is Networking, Web-design, Hardware, to mention just a few.
So, not until you get to maybe part three of your study, would you start "specialising" in a particular area.

But this does not stop "mentally hardworking students" from broadening their knowledge, on their own.
Just like the mentally lazy Accounting students graduate with just a BSc, the intelligent and "mentally aware" amongst them will have finished their ACCA/ICAN or be in the final level, when they are graduating!

I know many Computer Sc undergraduates who have completed and bagged many Certification courses like A+, Network+, MCSE, Cisco Certifications, e.t.c........ to position themselves for the future!
But the mentally lazy ones just go for lecture, finish lecture and dump their books on the table till the next day
. undecided

While the University "opens your mind and broadens your horizon", it is your own personal duty to take it a step further.... or not.

BAD ADVICE: One thing we have to admit is that those who are not "at home" with their course of study, hardly excel in it.
Most students either chose a course because that is what their JAMB Score will permit, or because they erroneously think "that course sells/will make money" (money-centric students) or the course is what "Mummy/Daddy wants them to do".

Most have no idea what the course is about when they accepted the admission letter or have a misconceived notion of what it is about.

If for example, you are somebody who likes to tinker with objects (and you are good with your hands) , one who likes to open up and re-assemble things, why on earth are you in the University studying Mathematics? shocked shocked
You should be at a Technical College, studying "craftsmanship" like Autoworks, Woodwork, Radionic, Plumbing, Roofer........ all at professional level, with certifications to boot.

But you either listened to bad advice, had a wrong orientation (Money! Money!!) or were too desperate to enter University that year when you knew your JAMB performance is still not up to the "cut-off point" of what your heart really wanted to study.
You accepted a wrong course that does not compliment and accentuate your innate abilities! undecided undecided

We can also not discount those group of "students who passed through the University" but "the University DID NOT pass through them".
These group of students are the lazy, unserious and are usaully the "happening guys" on Campus.
They dont apply themselves to study .....or any form of "acquisition of knowledge", while on campus.
All their years were used in cheating to pass exams (Expo, Scrunje, Oodu, micro-chip, Gbeere, e.t.c).
They bribed lecturers, threaten them and did about anything (except study) to pass exams.

When they leave School, these group of students are "lost" as to why they even went to the University because "they came out, the way they went in,..... except for their age"! grin grin

These sort will tell you that University education is a waste, if they happen to "jam money", in a very corrupt and decadent society.

How then do you turn around to blame University Education for your woes when it has nothing to do with it?

Like the two people l quoted above, l am a testament to sound University education (having convocated five times! .... (at various levels) from the prestigious Unilag while still pursuing a Law degree as a mature student, and concurrently a Professional in one of the Security Arms ).

Let no one fool you, YOU are what you make of your University Degree.
Like we say, "A Bad worker blames his tools".

Nuff said.

Chai! All these unsupervised plays! Chai! May God console the aggrieved... Its a bad thing to lose a child. Especially like this...
I really feel for the CHILD who is in the middle of all these.

if the death is just an accident, it still means a life, who could have grown to become ANYTHING in Life, was just prematurely allowed to terminate.
angry angry

It then begs the question of RESPONSIBILITY of adults?
Dont adults have a responsibility towards ensuring that children are safe anymore?

All these UNFIT parents should be flogged publicly.
The way and manner that the Child was being used and thrown around, shows that there is no love for the Child, from either Parent.
So, why did the silly Mother not just abort the pregnancy or the foolish father use a Condom?

But if the death was "arraigned" then the perpetrators should know that they would meet their own death in unexpected cricumstances and the "destiny" of that Child will not allow them find peace here and in the hereafter.

let me try breaking the story down in simple words so u ur sense of judgment can be enhanced: He they dated,he loved her, she gave him some money at sometimes, he felt he could marry her, he found her secret that he couldn't bear. He called the r.ship off. Ur question should be what is the secret. Broken r.ship is faaaaaar better than a broken marriage worse off when kids are involved.

Interesting.

His response was measured, and very mature without going into dirty details as some are wont to do.
The fact that the Girl was throwing shyte at his reputation (which is usual for a "woman scorned"wink even on public Social media, and the gy was able to still KEEP HER SECRET (I hope she would be arrogant enough to dare him to spill it ), shows the level of LOVE and MATURITY this guy has for her.
I really doff my hat for the guy because if it were some immature man, he will be too eager to spill the beans and get his own pound of flesh.
He is even interested in her marital success to another 'unfortunate' guy!

After reading both sides of the story, l think it is best that they do not marry each other ..... otherwise, the marriage will be another monumental failure, like that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Lady, please move-on and stop using your financial influence to peddle LOVE.

SamDaddy cool

I generally support the effort of this current Govt to lead our Nation back to prosperity but please, every criminal should stop pretending to be a Militant and "surrendering" after secretly agreeing to be paid some large sums of money!

THIS IS THE CLASSIC DEFINITION OF A SCAM.

I hope the "REAL" Niger Delta folks are reading and seeing the level of SCAM being perpetrated in their name.

Time to wise-up, embrace peace and have a stake in the future.

While l dont want to sound discouraging, l think your profitability analysis is an "over-estimation" which minimizes incidental costs while trumping
possible revenues
.

*Operational cost will certainly be more than #60,000 monthly (At least two staffer alone will gulp that amount! Now let us talk about cost of electricity, Security, maintenance of plant and machinery, incidentals, Wage of the investor himself.... or will he be working without any form of subsistence?

*It is overly optimistic to expect the "neighbourhood seller" to keep selling 80 Cylinders daily. Usage of a Cylinder per household takes some time and it is not a product that is bought on a daily/weekly basis.

*You did not state the period of return on investment, seeing that the investor would have sunk a minimum of of 20Million (about 5-6 Million for the business, land in such locations as you describe (residential) will not go for less than #10Million) so, why should anyone tie such valuable property down, still invest about #6 Million on a business which gives an overly optimistic #140,000/ 2.5 = #56,000?

*Giving such land to a developer to put a 3 storey building (highly residential area) would yield more returns, is a safer and more long-term investment.

*Again, the inherent danger is siting such venture in a highly residential area (we still remember the Enugu debacle), even for PMS, is considered highly risky to the populace, not to mention GAS!

*Unless you are going to sign a "Money-back guarantee within a specified period" with the investor, getting the necessary approval for sch venture in a highly residential area is as good as the proverbial Camel passing through the eye of a needle!.

While l think the business itself (gas dispensing) is good, l think the SWAT analysis has been deliberately skewed to lure the 'green-eyed' into the business.
This is a critical analysis of your business model and pls dont take it personal.

Do a more objective analysis and let us see what happens.

Wish you more success.

The bolded is very true!

And it is not that we are addicted to brick and mortar, it is what has proved economical and very viable for our environment, putting into consideration our high environmental Temperature and humidity.

We live in an under-developed environment where "processed" building materials are not readily available until recent copled with iregular power supply, one thing that can make a lot of difference in living style

We also have a knack for "heavy foot-steps" when walking, talking in "normal tones" which some will qualify as "these Nigerians too shout"!.... not to mention our penchant for pounding yam on the first floor! grin

In summary, there is not need for us Nigerians, to be attempting to be an "Eskimo", ....by trying to live in an "Igloo". undecided undecided
