TRADELYN:Na only criminals like you who vandalise Nepa cables, hunger they catch? So, a hungry criminal can offer #140,000 as bribe to security officials , abi? I did not even need to check the names of the Nitel Equipment vandals, you only need to go to Alaba to see does what Lastpage! |
RickyTan:You seem to confuse "MISTRUST"......... with "FEAR",.... like you guys get confused on most issues. Why would you expect Buhari to use Igbo peeps in his Security, given the level of "tribal hostility" you showed him before he won the Presidential election .. and even till date! That would be foolishness of epic proportions. Once beaten, Twice shy. All these "chest-thumping exercise" has not been converted to anything worthy, in the Political arena, as far as we all know. ![]() Lastpage! |
Nkem4040:Yes o! It is Yoruba people that are responsible for all your woes, since the birth of Christ! ![]() It is Yoruba that did not allow you to form Biafra It is Yoruba that did not allow you to field that looter GEJ, for another 4years It is Yoruba that did not allow you to be round-tripping Dollars It is Yoruba that is preventing you from having an Ibo President It is Yoruba that is preventing your 'Dilector' from regaining his freedom, after committing Treason Now, it is Yoruba that is responsible for you people discriminating amongst yourself.... I think it was Yoruba too that introduced "OSU" into your culture, right? When are you going to purge yourself of this "YORUBA_PHOBIA"? Abeegi, make we hear word joor Lastpage! |
I will blame her Mother! I did not say "curse" her Mother o. This is on of the reasons that "Good Mothers" ensure their children are well-brought up, including teaching them how to cook. Imagine, a potential wife? ![]() God bless my Mother sha. Everyone of us, including the males can cook anything any top-notch chef can cook, as far as Nigerian dishes are concerned. That is one of the things my own wife confessed, drew her to me back in those days. I usually cook "special dishes" anytime l am expecting her visits, as an Under-gee in the University Hostel. Mothers, please teach your children how to cook (Males and Females) , it is essential. Lastpage! |
Khameal007:Even a Dullard will know that she is just using r@pe as a weapon to cause problem for the guy. -You decided to live with a man -Both of you are lovers -he phucked you so tey until you got Pregnant -Then you remembered he r@ped you? Even Kenyan Police will smell this lies. These Kenyans sef, e be like say dem get inferiority complex issues? But then, this Obinna nor try at all o! wellmax:Not withstanding the above, HARD EVIDENCE abound that she is the "beneficiary" of this malfeasance as she is the one who has been using the FOUR PLATINUM CARDS attached to the accounts, to buy things abroad. This and the corroborating evidence of the accused who have pleaded guilty (they will now be state witness) is enough to send Mama Pieces to jail............ If we were not saddled with a very corrupt Judiciary with criminals sitting on the bench all over the place! She is just doing the usual Gra-Gra that is normally expected from her type. Even Jonathan seems to see the hand-writing on the wall hence his "quick and unending pilgrimage" to Abdusallami, IBB and other Ex-presidents Let's be patient, "the wheel of Justice grinds slowly but surely" Lastpage! |
Stupedinluv:Well, she is having a laugh on the silly guy but Please, when the tables get turned and a guy decides to expose the private chats between him and a lady, l hope you'all will not come out with that "He is not a gentleman" or "he is not a man" shyte we get when women are at the receiving end? I live by the Rule: "Do unto others as you would expect others to do unto you" Lastpage! HungerBAD:The woman is really taking Nigerians for granted but then, it may just be that her illiteracy has overtaken her mental faculty and she is just acting out of ignorance. But one bird told me that she may just be the "Achilles heel" that would eventually put Jonathan in the cooler, in a manner that even his "Na our Brother crew" will give a standing ovation. Lastpage!

bigtt76: You're smart! Once l read that part of the story, l knew something was fishy in the whole matter. She definitely knew he was dead before going out. The bigger question is: Why did she need that TIME (between death and autopsy) before exposing what happened to the man? Was it deliberate to conceal the "cause" of death? Was it deliberate to conceal her "participation"? Was it deliberate to ensure the deceased entered a "point of no-return"? Was it deliberate to allow her overcome "panic"? Only a proper forensics could answer most of these questions. But no biggie, "he went back, the same way he came". RIP Lastpage! |
Wizzyblack3:Is it illiteracy (which l doubt since you can 'read and write' and use the internet) or is it crass ignorance or just sheer tribal hatred or a combination of all the above that makes you not to UNDERSTAND that to fulfil campaign promise(s), you need money.... Money which the Nigerian Govt DOES NOT HAVE AT THE MOMENT! The next question should be WHY does the Nigerian Govt not have the money to fulfill its promises to Nigerians (or even have to go aborrowing to pay salaries)? The ANSWER is very simple, if you want to be honest to yourselves and your generation yet unborn: 1.) Nigeria is NOT America that can just PRINT DOLLARS endlessly, to finance it expenses. We have a "finite" income. 2.) CONSIDER that: * GEJ paid Tompolo #13 Billion...Yes, Billion! *Ex Chief of Defence Staff Alex Badeh looted $32 Million (Dollars) and hid part of it in a Pit Toilet in his house *Patience Jonathan is claiming $31 Million (Dollars) when she has never manufactured anything or win the lottery in her life time! *FFK took out #740 Million *Dasuki used trucks to load over $35 Billion (Dollars) out of the CBN on GEJ's order. yes, it is Billions and not Millions! ![]() *Olisah Metuh stole #400 Million, from the same Nigerian Purse. *GEJ's cousin named Aziboala looted #6 Billion out of the nations coffers. yes, that is in Billions, not Millions. *Nenadi usman stole #3.5 Billion Naira for himself, out of Nigeria's money *Fayose, the urchin holding forth in Ekiti State loote #3 Billion for himself (That is Billions, my friend) out of our money *Obanikoro, a former Minister under GEJ, made off with #4 Billion. Again, we are talking of Billions and not Millions *Olu Falaye, that shameless Ondo "elder" cornered #100 Million for himself, by way fo bribe from GEJ and his PDP kleptomaniacs *Tony Anenih, "Mr. Fixer" fixed #400 MillionNaira for himself, in recent times. he has always done that in the last twenty years or so. *Former CAN President, bling-bling Pastor Ayo Oritshejafor flew $35 million (Dollars) out of Nigeria's purse (part of it was seized by S/A Govt) * Ex Air Marshal Amosu, made away with #2 Billion!.... yes, Billions, not Millions. *Lucky Igbenedion helped himself with #16 Billion Naira of Nigeria's money *Between Bode "tewonde" George and Dabo, they shared #100 Billion Naira..... from the same purse of this country called Nigeria! *Jolly Nyame, former Governor stole #2.4 Billion Naira. *Joshua Dariye, another Governor stole #700 Million form the nation's purse. *Nyeson Wike stole #4 Billion Naira and still counting... *Dezzianni Allison Madueke, former Oil Minister vamoosed $20 Billion (Yes, billion Dollars! and she just forfeited a huge mansion proceeds of crime) *From NNPC and CBN, #10 Billion was converted to Naira and share-out as GIFT to DELEGATES during the PDP National Convention in 2015 * "Holy Man" Bafarawa cornered #3 Billion which he claimed he used to purchase the Devil's "spirits and mediums". *#12.7 Billion of the nation's money meant to pay retired workers of PHCN grew wings and disappeared, in this same Nigeria? *PDP used #23 Billion to bribe INEC staff during the last election, still from Nigeria's purse *Amaechi, former Governor and current Minister looted close to a Bioon Dollars and hid it in three foreign countries account (being repatriated now by President Buhari) *..... The above are the proven ones and we can go on and on forever, from Fashola, to other Governors, Director Generals, Commissioners, bankers, e.t.c. These country is just "mostly" inhabited by thieves who have no conscience and not qualms about robbing their own mother. Now, TELL ME; How can a country, led by a President (even if Jesus were to become President) fulfil his campaign promises to the masses, when all the money required to do so have been LOOTED by those who were there before he became President? This is why Buhari's campaign promises CANT BE FULFILLED at the moment.....maybe later. If you still dont get it, just close your eyes and imagine if all the above HUGE SUMS were still available to be used to spend and do good things to people like you and i ? The UNFORTUNATE PART of the whole problem is that people like you are in the majority, People with MIS-DIRECTED, RIGHTEOUS ANGER! What can Buhari do if Nigerians only remember him when they have been fleeced to the bone and all the Nation's wealth stolen? Sooner than he would stabilize the economy now and the same Nigerians would ask him to go and invite another set of looters and thieves to come and feast on the National purse. Nigeria and Nigerians are a case study in comical-tragedy. God does not do EVIL.... but a people will reap whatever they sow, be it good or Evil. Let all of us start to "Do and Support" what is Right and Nigeria will be better, with time. Lastpage! BTW: "A man never appreciates his first wife, until he marries a second!" ![]() Nigerians would have experienced "unending rapture of poverty" ....if Jonathan and his "gang of rapacious thieves" have been left in power for another 4yrs. |
TrueSenator: The abuse of "human right" started when they took somebody's money and threw him out of a moving vehicle or is that person not deserving of human rights as well? The guy could easily have died.....upon his money? Human Rights indeed. Stop focusing on the "woman's chest" and read the story properly! Its just an "occupational hazard". next time, she should take to a teaching job. ![]() Lastpage! |

popizaino:God spare our life, l will give you any moral support that l can. But please remember that l am just one like you, who learned by reading widely and sifting the wheat from the chaff.... ![]() I am not a Builder or a Contractor of any sort, just a good DIY house owner who did most things by himself (with experience over the years) such that l have value for my Money ![]() Lastpage! |
amagunnerfan:May the almighty energize you the more. Thank you for your compliments but l am just as "ordinary fella" like you as we all learn from each other..... We all FOLLOW Christ our Light. I craze your "forgiveness and understanding" if l say, as a matter of "principle and privacy", do not share phone details with anyone on Nairaland. But l have an Email specifically created to discuss any private issue you (or a Niaralander) want to discuss privately. If you PM me, l will respond using that Email. I will also suggest you be very careful sharing very personal details online...... you dont know what tomorrow may bring so, "err on the side of caution". Lastpage! |

amagunnerfan:Dont be discouraged! Be the man that you are. Man-Up!! First, dont think about "How much will complete it" otherwise you will not even start. ![]() Just think: I will start once l have an amount that will take it to decking stage....... then Start right away. Before you finish all the savings and reach decking, more money would have come in, right? That would take you to Lintel or Roof as block-setting is very cheap. At that level, house don complete sef. Abeg, make l nor hear that your word again! Discourage wetin? Tufiakwa!! Go do some research, come back to tell us they are already pegging the damn thing and you fit show pikshures sef. ![]() Lastpage! |
Khalifa04:Dont even mention Plumbing, Accesories like WC, Basins, e.t.c plus Soakaway Dont mention Kitchen, Tiling, Cabinets and Wardrobes Dont mention Overhead tank plus Floor Tiling "BUYERS BEWARE".... this Hause is nut fore Sell! ![]() Hmmm.... make l just dey look. Lastpage! |
amagunnerfan:First, as has been mentioned, the final cost will vary a lot and will depend on a lot of factors such that you cant compare your cost to that of others but what you can get is an "average". For example, the type of soil on the land you bought (alone) can make a difference of #3Million Naira in your expenses. Assuming you bought a "soft soil" land, compared to someone who bought a red-clay land. The former's foundation would consume a lot of Iron, Cement, Granite and Stone-dust/Sharp Sand in building say a Raft foundation tha may be as high as 5ft minimum (to avoid future stories of the heart) while the latter's foundation may just be 2ft high without much reinforcement. With current cost of Iron and Cement, l am sure you are getting my drift. Having said that, if you are not the lazy type (and l dont think so otherwise you wont have been planning to build your own house), l would advice you to go to the property thread and READ, READ and READ building projects (especially the DIY ones where the owners double as the Supervisor ) and then cap it with the off-topic thread (you can always skip the wailing and rubbish post that wont contribute anything to your quest for knowledge) linked belowhttps://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything Knowledge is Power! These threads would make you a small "Pro" in no-time If you are a novice to building (in terms of "basic knowledge" , expect to lose as much as 25% of your budget to greedy builders/Contractors who will eat you without mercy! (not all of them are guilty of this, there are some like Abdulwatexc who still do a good job for the money)Inflation of cost of material, over-invoicing, over-inventory, buying lower quality than quoted, e.t.c are ways you will lose money, just to mention a few ![]() You have seen how your "proposed cost is jumping from 9M to 20M to 25M to 30M already! ![]() But dont let that dampen your spirit in anyway. Just start and dont bite more than you can chew! Your build wont be the best in Abeokuta and it won be the worst ......but do something you know you will COMPLETE in good time. Dont over-build to impress anybody. I can feel you are already feeling depressed by that 30Million mentioned It all depends on you: *Can you spare the EFFORT and the personal TIME to cut down cost (You can have an over-seeing consultant on a fixed payment based on site-visits..... not someone just collecting your money and staying-away from the site!) * Be very careful with parting with money, especially to these Contractors on Nairaland! Ask around, there are some Contractors l will not give my #3, not to talk of #30Million. Ask around but for now, l have "very strong opinion" about Abdlwastexc and Spyder (search for the threads of these two, good builders and read) I hope you realise that MONEY can cause enmity between you and your Uncle and Father-in-law? My Mother use to tell me this: " Any amount of Money you cant forgo, dont lend it to a relation otherwise, you might have to chose between your money and your relation" . Be careful in that area, l take God beg you. (Except you are a very, very "Cheerful Giver" ![]() The cheapest part of the build is the block-work itself but it is what makes you think you are building a house as it springs into life. Major areas of cost in "approximate percentages" are: Foundation (13%), Blockwork (8%), Decking (11%), Roofing (10%) Windows and Doors (15%), Plastering and Tiling (20%), Plumbing, Soakaway and Electrics (10%), other Finishings (Painting, Compound, , e.t.c) 10%. Let us set aside another 3% for contigencies, totalling 100%. Now, you can start work once you have 40% of the cost as cash and you have a steady stream of income, otherwise l would suggest you up it to about 60% but please, DONT overbuild to impress! It is better you build to a scale your budget can accommodate within 12-16months max. (I know you said 6months ).BTW: Five Bedroom Duplex is very good but do you by any chance have up to eight children or is it just your immediate family that will occupy that 5-Bed Duplex? Well, it is your first house so you want to impress yourself! ![]() Hmmm.... 3-Bed Duplex with 2Units of 2 or 3-Bed Flats at the back will give you better value-for-money, give you flexibility with "sleep-ins" and will bring you income streams, when you discover that you dont need the "Big-Man" house that we all always start with. I am speaking from experience but l pray you will get there sooner than me and realise what l realised too late!. ![]() Dont mind me, l like to write too much. I wish you all the strength and determination. Go for it. Lastpage! Caveat: I am not a builder/contractor and l am not selling anything o. ![]() |
Excuzeme:Please, l beg you. DO NOT descend to this level. "when a "sane man" decides to engage in a fight with a mad man (all in the name of answering back), no one will know the difference..... and the "mad man" will beat you with experience". I have come to understand that "The way people write/post and the content of their post, is a PHOTOGRAPH of who they are in real life". I have seen the comment and was hoping you would just ignore it like l did........ It is meaningless and reminiscent of "challenged-child" . Lastpage! |
jephito:Dont say "NO" emphatically because you dont really KNOW! How can you say spraying the crop that one would eat, with insecticide and fungicide DIRECTLY, does not it? Are you not aware that some of these x-cide are capable of penetrating the soft tissues of the crop and reside insde th eflesh till consumption by humans? While l feel your hustle, l think we need to be careful with the use of all these Chemicals on what people will consume. It may kill the pests but it may also end up "slowly" killing the consumer or at the minimum, induce some disease (Cancer) in them at a later stage in life. I will suggest you make use of Govt bodies like FIIRO (Oshodi), IITA (Ibadan) and ask questions about which type of Pesticide/Fungicide is safe to use and in what quantity and manner. I am sure they will be more than willing to assist. Wish you more success in your efforts. Lastpage! |
LynnPetra:Aaah-Ha, why are you sounding so pained? Its not a personal issue now, abi? ![]() Well, let me agree with you that women are working so hard these days (yes, these days!) as l have seen some hard-working women worth emulating. But "the taste of the pudding is in the eating". Let us see some PROOF! Maybe by picking up the Bill when they go outing at a Restaurant? Maybe by buying their Boyfriend that i-Phone 7 instead of making it a condition of their fidelity to him? Maybe they agree to share the house rent as it falls due? Maybe they buy the Radio, when the guy has tried and bought the OLED TV? Until we start seeing such things happening and becoming "normal" (as against just a 'one-off' thing), we can only take your claim with a pinch of salt. BTW: I am way past that age, so it does not benefit me as a person. And please, tone-down the foul language, its not "Lady-like", if you are one. ![]() Lastpage! |
Yomieluv:As long as they dont come back when "shyte-hits-the-fan", to ask the Govt and sensible people to BAIL them out. That is when they will remembr that President Buhari has no Compassion for suffering women. ![]() Easy-come, Easy-go! ![]() Lastpage! |

queenfav:It is not a must, that he must pick the Bills! Why dont you pick it or dont you also enjoy the privilege of dating him? This is exactly what l am talking about. Women like you think dating a man is a privilege tot he man ONLY and he should pay for it by picking the Bills. Get real and pay your own fare! The Man in question was just happy that being a "working class girl", you will be willing to pick yoru own share of the Bill and not turn hom to an ATM....... but l guess he was wrong! You still want to dig into his purse. Lastpage! |
jopretty:Your post is very sensible but the bitter truth is that WE DONT LIVE IN A SENSIBLE WORLD! Let us assume that the Lady does all the above "NOW", Does that guarantee that they would be together TOMORROW? Does that guarantee that the marriage would last more than a year or two? Does that guarantee that he would not cheat or marry a second wife? Does that guarantee that he would be alive in the next five years so she can "get a compensation" for all that sacrifice of the past? Does that guarantee that she would not cheat on him later? What l am driving at is that "What happens NOW is not a guarantee for what will happen in the future (LATER) Since we are talking about MONEY/WEALTH and SECURITY on this topic (the idea of the @Op), l will restrict my arguments to that. Like l said earlier, what you suggested are very, very good and shows you are a good lady but l will like to add that the bottom line is that No ONE should hinge their Life's happiness on another person or what the other person can provide for them. If you must hinge your happiness on resources (Money), make sure you are able to provide it FOR YOURSELF. Women should study hard like Men Women should work hard and get a good job (not necessarily one that jeopardises their marital chances..... Bar-Lady! ).Women should have the mindset of "providing for themselves", ...whatever your husband brings should be a PLUS. Women should think about also "bringing to the table" in a marriage, not waiting for the husband on all things Money While an ambitious are hardworking man is desirable (as that trait affects other aspects of his lifestyle) a man that respects you (I did not say one that is AFRAID!), loves you for "who you are and as you are", shares your goals and vision about life or at least you both are on the same plane as regards those things, one that does not worship money (desperadoes), believes-in, respects and fears God (not a religious fanatic or religious "Mugun" that needs his Pastor's permission to even make love to his wife, those ones are even worse! ) is what a woman needs. Many a women have lost good potential spouses because they are "thinking of what the Man can do for them" and not "what they can do for themselves ....and then to the Man". Just like Men, Women should "develop themselves" first, to the point where they can pay their way (but not using that to become arrogant to their Men).... then think about Marriage after. Lastpage! |
