SaTANoids like you register an account to come are spew nonsense on Nairaland!

Get it into your thick skull that GEJ and his cronies looted the nations foreign reserve (One of the reasons the value of the naira against other foreign currencies is so abysmal)

GEJ and his co-looters refused to save money for the future, when Dollar was trading at an all-time high of over $130, compared to today's value of an all-time low of between $28 and $48

GEJ funded all these miscreant militant groups destroying and blowing-up our Oil installations, leading to even lower output at a very low selling price. Nigeria is systematically earning lower forex.

GEJ encouraged and enabled rampant corruption when he declared that "Stealing is not corruption" and recent events have shown how he, his wife and other thieves looted Nigeria into recession.

All the above actions of GEJ brought this recession on Nigeria

It will take some time but this current Govt will eventually bring Nigeria back to stability.
Its just unfortunate that Nigerians ALWAYS remember Buhari, when they are in deep-shyt, the looters are having a field day and the economy is ALREADY DESTROYED

The new orientation you are talking about will take another generation to fulfill, the leaders of tomorrow are they not the ones shouting sai Baba? That was why i said until ppl start thinking and asking their leaders probing and intelligent questions Nigeria will never get it right. Why should a presidential candidate refuse to outline and defend his plans for the nation in a debate and yet ppl feel he has anything upstairs? Why should a candidate spend over 2billion on party nomination alone and ppl believe that wont be his first priority? Most of us that supported GEJ then did it not because he is the best person but compared to buhari he is far far better , if there was another candidate then from another strong national party ,most likely neither pdp or apc would have won.
Absolute bumkum!..... and HISTORY has proved us (those that voted GEJ), ... WRONG

The support we gave GEJ back then, was based PURELY on TRIBAL SENTIMENTS. T hat is the honest truth.

The Northerners have usurped the Presidency (using Coups) for too many years.
The Northerners were boasting that they are "Boon-To-Rule", like the rest of the country were their slaves! angry angry
The Northerners wanted to subvert the Constitution which says the Vice President must take over, in the event of the death of the President

All the above put together, the "Southerners" (East and South West) felt GEJ was an opportunity for a "Southerner" to also be President for as long as possible.

What we the Southerners did not bargain for was that GEJ was going to be a MONUMENTAL DISASTER of a President!
Under GEJ, we discovered that Tribal sentiments (matters of the heart) should never be allowed to determine critical decisions like leadership (matters of the Brain)

When Nigerian thought IBB was the personification of corruption, GEJ proved us wrong and under him "Stealing was considered NOT Corruption"!. shocked
Despite the huge incomes from Crude Oil under GEj's regime, the country was left with a Debt that would take generations to pay while he had nothing to show for it,... except looted funds in both local and foreign account of his cronies and FRONTS.

I am sure GEJ and his administration will form the crux of academic discourse (as a Course on Corruption) in our Law, Pol. Science and virtually every Faculty of our Universities, where "how not to be a failed and corrupt Leader", will be taught.

Buhari has tried to be President on three occasions and was roundly rejected but it was the cluelessness, profligacy and unbridled corruption of GEJ and his regime, that made a "rejected" Buhari to become a promising option.... which Nigerians were forced to take.

I dont hate GEJ and l dont have an "unbilical cord love" for Buhari but if l like most "rational Nigerians" (unlike the tribalists that chant "GEJ Na our Bloodder" grin ) l have to make a choice between just GEJ and Buhari (Devil's alternative as we call such), l will not even blink before choosing Buhari over GEJ.

BTW: It has taken the last few decades now, to completely debase the "moral and values" of our younger generation so much so that majority of them have become "brainless, valueless robots" without any sense of dignity and moral compass (No offence intended, just plain, observed facts!).
I posit that except a radical re-orientation of our "Youths" is urgently undertaken (but the present, avoidable economic hardship is not helping matters) they will make an even worse "failed leadership", in the not too distant future,.......... unless ofcourse, if we are prepared to keep recycling the "old thieves" who in the first place, put the Youths in that position.

My Take!

I support this as well. Lots of efforts of people are wasted, most of their little household budget is spent on electricity, and little is left for new investments in tools, machines, or vehicles to increase productivity.

One possible solution could be private-public partnerships: private investors to initiate solar plants/parks with feed-in tariffs that are guaranteed by the state first, then by the federal government. 10-25% equity by private investors, loan provided by various Development Banks?

But this topic should be discussed in a different thread, I guess?

sunny regards,
Your inputs above makes a lot of sense. I salute you.

To be "brutally honest" with you, we live in an environment where "self first and greed" have overtaken any sense of morality/good values/human betterment that we have left.
Everyone thinks first about not just how much they would make but how they can do so without giving ANYTHING back into the system! angry angry

If you compare our private investors to their counterparts in US/Europe, you will see the wide difference.
Ours just want to make stupendous wealth
(so they can flaunt it and oppress the less privileged : e.g those who took over Govt assets like Nitel, NICON, Steel Mills, Discos, e.t.c) at the expense of the poor

But their counterparts in those foreign lands always think first, how they can mass-produce for the public, satisfy a yearning "gap of need" and then GRADUALLY MAKE MONEY from it over a LONG TIME.
They are long-sighted while the Nigerian private sector/investor is acutely short-sighted.

This is why you cant have the likes of Sir Richard Brandsten who has been funding space vehicle researches, multiple delivery/re-entry vehicles even when he knows that he may keep spending for the next ten years without a single "kobo" coming back-in. But he knows that once he succeeds, the financial profit would roll-in like a flood! (Mugun importing nations like Nigeria will be the first to queue-up that they want to BUY solutions, with the forex we dont even have undecided undecided )

The Nigerian private investors/Mogul is interested in only short term projects and that is why you wont find them investing in building a Power Plant (aside those micro projects they call micro-plant that will provide power for just one company or street and be completed in a very short time so they can start getting paid back within one year! angry )

In essence, funding of MAJOR, public projects like Power is a Govt DUTY.
I think the U.K Govt contracted to build another Nuclear Power plant last year, seeing that power demand may increase in the nearest future and some of the present plants are aging.
That is "foresight and responsibility" by a GOVT.
On completion, Govt will break it into manageable parts (generation, Transmission, distribution, e.t.c) and sell it to private investors, who will then sell the power to the public and other end users.

It is not generally the position of private investors to invest in very capital-intensive projects whose ROI (Return on Investment) comes in bits and will take a long time.

We can also factor in the problems of "standardisation"
as you can see in the Roads done by our local Companies! Asphalt that should be Eight inches thick on a major road is reduced to less than One inch thickness with the result that any small rain like this, the road quickly develops Pot-holes and fails. Such example litters the whole place within Nigeria.

The point l am making is that Govt MUST DO certain things, complete it and then hand-it-over to (sell) to those who are profit minded and are better able to ensure the "profit" comes out of it.
Waiting on these FDI's and Private investors (I have been hearing those terms since 1985 when Babangida came into power but more since the Civilians took power) has proved to be an endless wait. They just sign MOU and never do anything beyond that.

It is the duty of Govt to kick-start the economy with "Capital spending" on infrastructures like Power, Steel Mills, Petro-Chemical Plants, Roads (If not for Govt, we will never build the 3rd Mainland Bridge and Private investors have not been able to build the 4th Mainland bridge, despite the big grammar we have been hearing since 1999! undecided ), e.t.c.

When Govt does its part, the Citizens will have no choice that to leverage on it, produce goods and services, reduce importation of such goods, export locally manufactured items (thereby generate more FOREX and improve the exchange rate of the Naira), create Jobs for million sof able-bodies citizens, reduce level of insecurity as more people get gainfully employed and the attendant benefits goes on-and-on.

I pray we will have leaders with such simple vision

Sirs, I've pondered deeply and discussed with some people that nigeria needs to have a radical educational reform if we are to make any significant development.
My brothers in the east are already making great strides in utilizing local content and ingenuity.
Our curriculum should be made to include one vocational course at all levels as electives with another course in detailed practical on it. We take irrelevant elective courses in our schools, I see no reason why they can't be replaced with practical courses.
Well-said!

Our curriculum is a reflection of our society.
The curriculum will only teach what it feels is "useful" based on CURRENT REALITY

Years back, we go to "Trade Center" when we were in primary six while the girls go to Domestic Science Center.

I can still remember that a lot of Table Tennis Bats l used in playing Table Tennis were carved out by myself, from that same Trade Center.
we did Metal Work, Wood work, e.t.c.
But today, l hardly hear children mention anything like that or bring such things home, thing sthey did with their own hands!

The question then is WHY?

Let me attempt a response:
If we look around, we would realize that not a single country ever PROGRESSED without an appreciable level of stable Electricity (Power Industry), followed by STEEL industry. These two are the basis if any industrialization that produces development.

Until Nigeria can generate an appreciable level of Power, we will keep going round in circles.
Electricity powers development/production.

There are millions of Nigerians, with millions of brilliant and profitable, productive ideas floating around but when you consider that you had to first buy a Generator (not even feasible in some business where the electricity consumption is enormous!), buy Petrol/diesel at average of #145 still rising, factor-in cost of breakdowns and repair of these generators, then you will realise that all your projected profit will just be sued to "produce electricity".
The Govt has a duty and responsibility to invest and build Power stations (Hydro, Wind, Solar, Wave, e.t.c) to kick start the economy.
No foreign investor will do that for Nigeria simply because it is a long term investment with slow pay-back regime.
Private Investors want quick returns.

I dont want to write anything lengthy on this issue because it is very deep.

Bottom line is that until we develop those two sectors, which in-turn will sprout other cottage industries and fuel innovation and other ancillary industries,

The greatest mistake successive Govts (and this current one) continue to make concerning Power improvement (Electricity and Fuel) is thinking that once you continue to throw more money at it (by increasing its cost, to the citizens so as to increase the "profit margins" of so-called investors), the services will improve.
Its never going to.

The greedy private sector simply milks the profit grow fatter and jumps ship (or blackmail the Govt for even more profit margin) when they want more, like Oliver Twist.

Power and Steel are exclusive preserve of Government, at the early stage.
When it is developed and stable, Govt can then sell-if-off to investors.

Also, stop making reference to the last administration ooo, even our Emir of Kano has advised us not to that we have made same mistakes.
I also read you said something about pounding to submission. I honestly don't agree with you on this one. It's pretty obvious ain't it. The rhetoric of pounding has put the NDA in a constant state of sabotaging pipelines. Giving the military more weapons won't guarantee long lasting peace oooo, it ll rather incite to violence.
And finally, stop insulting. You ll grow old someday you know.

I am passed that stage a very long time.

Having made that clear, you need to re-read my piece s-l-o-w-l-y so you can get the drift.
I agree mistakes have been made right from the inception of Nigeria as a country (Regionalism, as practice in the 60's was our best bet so that each region develops at its on pace) but no one can turn back the hands of the clock.
so, we need to deal with the situation.
We have tried diplomacy but some of these people think they are invincible.
Some of them think they can blackmail a Sovereign Govt to submission
Some of them think they have become spirits and try to ridicule the Govt.

The truth is, no matter how powerful you think you have become as a group, the "Government" will outlive and outlast you.

Since they dont want to embrace peace, opportunity of which have been given to them over the years, then we need to try the other alternative: "soften them up" till they see the wisdom of embracing peace.

I am for the development of the ND. I stand with that 100%
But l am also against any group holding the whole country to ransom.

What the Govt is doing is called the "Carrot and Stick" approach.
Govt will cut-off their funding, deny them any chance of re-arming after a prolong operation, arrest and prosecute their sponsors, smoke them out of their hiding, soften them with modern weaponry while at the same time, keeping the door open for NEGOTIATIONS.... if they realize that their arrogant posturing and blackmail is not working.

"Why are civil servants who receive a minimum wage of N18k complaining of suffering?.... Don't they receive their salaries?"

The above statement is exactly how meaningless your question above is. An import dependent nation of 170 million people with a foreign reserve of $28.5billion, an amount which can't meet up to our 3-month import cover, and this meagre sum is accompanied by a significantly dwindled income, and yet someone here thinks it is only when foreign reserves drops to zero that there is a problem. SHould I really be responding to this sort of thing you wrote up there? undecided

Here we go again, quoting another statistical figure he knows nothing about. Oil makes only 15% of GDP but are you aware oil accounts for up to 90% of the Nigerian government's income?

Without adequate infrastructure on ground, with oil boom years wasted without any commensurate capital projects on ground to support the GDP, with power supply as erratic as if it never existed, Nigeria's GDP growth is absolutely tied to oil price; oil price rises, GDP growth rate rises and vice versa. Many ignorantly blame the present government for drop in GDP growth, oblivious of the fact that the free fall started right from the moment oil prices began to decline, long before the new govt came on board. Here's a chart below for your consumption:

www.nairaland.com/attachments/4178677_gdpvscrudeprice2_jpegc5856f214a58ffdca179aefcd84d6ffd

If the oil price drop has nothing to do with the recession, how come the economy started tumbling from mid-2014?... Within the last 6 months of GEJ, the following happened; Naira nosedived from N160 to N230 to $1, GDP growth rate which was comfortably within 6-7% crashed to 2.3%, the nation's foreign reserves dropped rapidly from $38.5bn to $28.5bn, that's a drop of a whooping $10bn in 6 months. As early as February 2015, the FG had to borrow over $2billion to pay workers' salary, petrol importers were owed there subsidies for 9 months leading to an excruciating fuel scarcity in May 2015 before handover (the arrears in owed subsidies were eventually cleared in Nov 2015 by the new govt). All of the following happened when oil still even sold above $65 (as at May 2015) yet someone here thinks oil price has nothing to do with recession in a mono-economic nation which sells only crude, very intelligent!

Once again, a man struggling to feed his family on his salary of 100k suddenly gets this salary slashed down to 40k, and we have some smart asses sitting at home saying incompetence is the reason behind the recession. No need to exchange banters with you; 3 reasons explains why this above logic is too difficult for anyone to discern:
1. Sentiments: hatred for buhari and a pre-programmed prejudice has blocked the ability to be objective.
2. Hunger: The prevailing hunger in the land has reset the person's ability to be objective
3. Ignorance: The person is just ignorant of what's going on in the country and how the economy works.

I set my bet on No. 1 and 3 above for most people in this forum.
I salute your ability to break it down.
But then, those whose thinking is so warped with hatred, will still be blind to whatever reasoning id adduced.

The rains of the last few days have exposed the weakness in some of our buildings, drainage and road networks.
In the last few days, due to very heavy rains, l have seen a lot of houses get flooded.

And l am wondering, should we not pay more attention to the "height above natural ground level" of our foundations, making allowance for settlement, filling of the road during road rehabilitation and drainage, especially when drainage from other streets are diverted into that of your street?
Infact, we can even plan ahead for rising water level, for those whose houses are a few kilometers from Rivers and Canals (recent happenings in Ikorodu area comes to mind)

We should also during this period, be able to come around with our neighbours to "maintain" the drainage in our neighbourhood (Straighten and excavate rubbish from existing ones, build new ones where none exists, e.t.c) so that water can have a free-flow.
I have seen very upscale areas where people only build tiny gutters which are not linked to each other.

Government can also play its own part by clearing silt along major roads (which empties into gutters thereby causing blockages), clear existing gutters and erect new ones so that water will not become stagnant on roads, leading to their premature failure..

I was on my way to Ibadan over the weekend and like a 'film', despite deploying all available resources to make passage easier, l spent close to 5hours between Lagos and Ibadan, journeys that usually take me an average of one hour at the most!.
The traffic was just stationary, bumper-to-bumper! Between Berger (Lagos end) and just after Mountain of Fire and Miracles.

I suspect that the "spirit of traffic snarl" came down around that area.
"Holy Ghost fire" tried but the traffic was just too stubborn. grin grin

So, this is the time to think and plan ahead, the rain this September and October will be so bad.

For those in the planning stage of their houses, spending a few more naira to add additional 1ft (one Pako) to your floor height above "planned, normal level" will be a good idea (though we usually look at the initial cost outlay) which you will be happy you did when the water comes rumbling.
I just saw houses that have never been flooded, get flooded this few days back.

Happy days, the thread has regained its sanity. kiss kiss

Sudden Implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA)- This policy threw the banking and financial sector into turmoil as huge sums were swept out of banks and dormantly stashed into a preferred safe.
So, you are telling us that Banks colluding with Civil Servants to steal Govt earnings and Buhari putting a halt to it (even though the TSA policy was initiated under Jonathan but he did not have the honesty and balls to implement it), is what threw Banking and Financial sector into turmoil?
If that is true the they were never a bank but thieving outfits. They need to die in that turmoil.

Justcash:
2) Tightening of Foreign Exchange Transactions- This policy made it difficult to make foreign exchange, and threw thriving businesses into turmoil which led to massive sacking of workers and manufacturing slowdown.
First, you dont make foreign exchange, you EARN IT.
The major way Nigeria EARNS forex is through sale of Crude oil.
Under GEJ it was as much as $130/Barrel.
Just when Buhari took power, it went down to as low as $28, through no fault of Buhari. it was a global problem.

So, Nigeria was not earning forex but Nigerians want to import everything from tooth-pick, to Biscuits, to shoes.
But when we were earning loads of forex, Jonathan and his gang of thieves were looting it into foreign banks. They did not save for the rainy day nor invest in local production of those basic things we are importing.
Those people whose business is mere importation (not real production of goods) are the ones crying because they are there only to waste our scarce forex.
How can a country grow when its economy is based on mere importation? I know my Biafra brothers are guilty of that but they like to shift the blame on Buhari

Justcash:
1)
3) Unguarded Utterances During Foreign Trips- The president made several unguarded utterances that gave the impression that Nigeria was headed for the rocks. This made foreign investors hesitant about coming into Nigeria, and encouraged those that were already in Nigeria to speculate and pull out funds.
There is nothing Buhari has said about Nigeria, that people abroad dont already know.
Is it in Asia where they arrest and sentence Nigerian to death on a daily basis that Buhari wants to tell them about the Drug pushing of some Nigerians?
Is it the foreign banks abroad, were they see the stash of looted money, that Buhari wants to tell them anything new, about the stealing, looting and corruption of Nigerians (not all)?

Is it the Internet were you have hundreds of thousands of stories making the rounds about kidnapping, Boko Haram, violent robberies, e.t.c, that foreigners are already reading, that Buhari can tell them something they have not read online before or do you think these "investors" are as dull as some of you that only read Tontoh Dike and Tiwa Savage CLEAVAGE on the internet?

Buhari is just showing them that these administration will be honest and not pretend everything was fine, unlike the previous one of Jonathan and they are sure convenient with the truth, more than obvious LIES

Justcash:
4) Halting of Important Projects in the Niger Delta- Buhari moved to remove majority of the projects that were created to provide tangible benefits to Niger-Deltans. For example, the Maritime University and Pipeline protection projects. Though, some of these projects were condemned by Nigerians, they kept the Niger-Delta at peace and allowed for the maximization of the benefits from petroleum exports.
These is a very funny reason! grin grin
So, in your brain, you think the Niger Delta is equal to the whole of Nigeria?
So, assuming projects are halted in the ND but not in the remaining parts of Nigeria, that should lead to recession, huh?
Abeg, wake-up. the ND is just less than 15% of Nigeria so its effect (assuming it is true, but we know that Buhari has initiated new projects and even restarted abandoned ones in the ND) will be minimal on the country.
Pipeline protection is a SCAM that created riches for plain CRIMINALS.
Our Military are paid huge sums to protect the country, we will not sub-contract their work to militants. End of story.
The recession is as a result of dwindling revenue and sabotage (Pipeline vandalization especially) by the same people blaming Buhari. We know them

Justcash:
5) Buhari's Northern Developmental Focus in Nigeria- The developmental aim of the president is very much skewed towards Northern Nigeria than every other part. So, he is more like kick starting a new economic focus, while dumping existing economic strengths. For example, he is devoting billions of dollars to search for petroleum in the North when Nigeria does not have functional refineries to ensure adequate availability of petroleum products that are already being produced in the South.
The facts in this assertion are mostly true but then, if the WHOLE country mostly depends on Oil and some greedy tribes think they should arrogate a National property to themselves ONLY, just because it gushes out from their Region, do oyu not think it is smart of the President to also look for the same thing in his own region, incase we really need to "break-up"? Or do you want his region to be shortchanged and then forced to go to war to share in the oil?
Finding Oil in the North will make Nigeria's break-up easier, less bloody and faster.
It will also make the ND less important and we can tell them to go to blazes, which is what l think they are calling for
.

Justcash:
6) Elimination of All the Policies Made by PDP- it is on record that even though PDP led governments were corrupt, they made some major strides in diversifying Nigeria's economy. For example, Agricultural export came to life under PDP. Buhari has focused on bedeviling and antagonizing every single policy made by the PDP. In the process, he has thrown out good policies and progress that were made in the past. He is almost starting afresh, and this has rebooted Nigeria and thrown us years backwards.
Look, even a blind person can see that PDP, especially under Jonathan, were just busy looting the resources of this country and they led us to where we are today.
Jonathan single-handedly supervised the destruction of this country.
From corruption, to violent crimes like kidnapping and armed robbery, to ritual killings, e.t.c, Jonathan's administration under his PDP party encouraged glorification of MONEY, debasing of our moral values and the 'get Money at all cost' mentality which leads to violent crimes without any form of compassion for fellow humans.
Under Jonathan, it was all just about getting Money at all or ANY COST.
So, any serious Govt cannot build its legacy on that history and house of corruption. Jonathan is just lucky that we are not under a military agenda otherwise, like Lt. Jerry Rawlings did in Ghana, all those PDP and some APC looters would just have been lined-up and shot by the miliatry, for economic subversion/sabotage.
if that happened, we wont be saddled with the likes of Saraki and Dogara and their band of budget-padding syndrome

Justcash:
7) Preference for Violence over Dialogue- Buhari prefers to use military force to quell civil strife. This approach ignites more protests and civil disobedience. An economy cannot experience progress in violent conditions. Even Lagos and Ogun axis has experienced an open show of military bombardment, which scares a heck out of investors. The same is true about the production shut ins in the Niger Delta region. Some of these issues can be solved with dialogue and with police actions than full scale military assaults.
There are some problems that dialogue cannot solve.
There are some people that dont understand dialogue except they are pressured into it or dont have an alternative.

Some of the problems we have are like Hostage-taking and blackmailing, those kind of problems understand ONLY FORCE.
for example, a kidnapper will blackmail you for money and keep doing so, if he is sure he can get away with it. You need force to put a stop to it.
Same goes for Militants (we have dialogued with them, sent them abroad for re-training in the last ten years, gave them jobs, e.t.c but it is obvious that they just want to be milking other hard-working Nigerians, till eternity).
Look at Boko haram as well/ if they want to dialogue with Govt, they have all the opportunity but they are Religious fanatics who want to create a caliphate within Nigeria. They are rapist and kidnappers, murderers of the innocent.
So, the Govt has a right and duty to protect its citizens from such criminal organisations, using all means necessary.

The strategy is that to deal with criminals is that they wont negotiate until they are certain the other option they have is total annihilation.
So, like the Americans will do, you pound the enemy (soften them) to the point were they have no other choice than to negotiate.
That makes negotiation easier.
That is what Buhari is doing.
Now that the various criminal gangs saw that Buhari is investing seriously in 'serious weapons' and the Military is being re-positioned to fulfill its role to the nation, some of them are beginning to see the wisdom in negotiation. undecided

I have decided to break it down for you so that misguided people like you dont think you are saying something meaning full, when you write such gibberish online.
Go back to school please.

My Oga Good day sir, Your boy dey greet you.

Once i receive a drawing with an existing Electrical plan, I first and foremost go through the drawings and then do a layout then adjust the drawings to suit what truly works in relationship to the clients requirements. Mostly, electrical drawings over here are just copy and paste. Put a light somewhere in the middle and points around and sockets switches around. What I do is I dont just locate the light anywhere, I have to think of that person that comes home late at night tired and wants to switch on the light. That guy that wakes up at night and doesn't have to standup to turn off the A.C because its become colder than it already was before he slept. a whole lot of factors come into play. Hence the reason for a layout. The existing plan can just be a Guideline to what the Architect and his team where thinking.

The wall outlets are placed in a way that its easy for who comes into the space when its dark to locate the switch. Be it in the middle of the wall or close to a side.

....................
I am not a practising Electrician though l have an appreciable knowledge of Electrification from course taken in Electrical Engineering depts of my University in those days. I have also supervised a lot of Structured cabling projects for big firms, some decades back but l am still not an Electrician so, l may be wrong!

Now, l am of the opinion that in 2016, NO ONE (at least not me) GETS UP FROM BED to SWITCh-OFF their A/C or a light or come into a room looking for a light Switch!

In the current system of "connected things", you enter a room and the motion detector 'detects' the presence of someone coming-into the room and signals the light to come on for a pre-determined length of time, after which it goes-off if no motion is detected (This saves on Energy-cost)

There is a reason appliances comes with a REMOTE CONTROLLER!
There is even a MASTER-CONTROLLER which controls all other Remote-Controllers so that you dont have to hang onto too many controllers!
You switch-off your A/C without even breaking your sleep! grin grin

The highlighted above are not worthy of consideration, in location of light/power switches!
"Aesthetics" would be the most overriding factor nowadays while "cost" (cable length) should come second.

But then, l understand if some still want to stick to the "traditional" way of doing things. undecided undecided

I guess he made a misake or mistook PVC for something else.

As long as you dont set it on fire (the fumes are very toxic), you are good to go with PVC.

Asbestos is what l know to be dangerous.

The most difficult place I have done a borehole is Enugu. I have also done more than 50 wells in Enugu state. Then the borehole we did in Imo State last year was very challenging and costly. I am sure it went more than 80 meters and we janmed so many stones that was drilled through with special equipment.

I will show pictures of those jobs when I can.
