IMO, l think the blame lies squarely on the door of this fanatical Governor called Aregbesola.

Nigeria still remains a secular country, operating a secular constitution and as such, RELIGION should find no-place in PUBLIC affairs.

Everyone is free to practice their Religion but it must be done at a PRIVATE LEVEL.

A school "dress code" is a matter of POLICY....a PUBLIC POLICY for that matter.

Children should only wear SCHOOL UNIFORM to School, devoid of any religious connotation.

Aregbesola is an ignorant, religious mow-ron!

He needs to be called to order before he plunges Osun State into a religious crisis.... Yorubas are known to co-exist religiously with one another, without the infections lf the likes of Aregbesola.

I wonder what Nigeria would have looked like if Goodluck Jonathan was like this.
Someone should remind Buhari that Abacha died few hours before he could sign date sentence of DIYA, OBJ, FADIPE etc.
Someone should tell Buhari that cancer can also send someone to cell 6feets below.

I rest my case
Some of you are just PAINED ILLITERATES!
GEJ can NEVER come Back..."never again" so, WAKE UP and smell the Coffee bros! grin

Now, let us dissect the real matter:

The Chief of Staff to the Ekiti State governor, Barrister Dipo Anisulowo, had led the delegation to Abuja to deliver governor Fayose’s letter to the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie.

In the April 12, 2016 letter with reference number EK/GOV/28/10, the Ekiti state governor had written to the Chinese Government, seeking the stoppage of the $2bn loan for railway projects in the country.

Fayose in his letter to President Xi Jinping said that “the government of China should be mindful of the fact that Nigerians, irrespective of their political and religious affiliations, are totally opposed to increment of the country’s debt burden, which is already being serviced with 25 per cent of the Federal Government annual budget.”

Governor Fayose reportedly stormed China same month while President Buhari was still the guest of his Chinese counterpart.
Speaking with journalists the source argued that the Presidency was embarrassed by the role played by governor Fayose and his aides.

“Since Fayose can’t be arrested or invited for questioning, the plot is to arrest and detain, indefinitely and without administratively bail all the officials who conveyed his letter to the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie.”
1.) From the point of view of FACTS, Fayose has not provided any STATISTICS/SURVEY he conducted, that shoed that "an overwhelming number" (more like 90%) of Nigerians are opposed to the "Infrastructural loan agreement" Nigeria signed with China.
In the absence of that, we can conclude that Fayose and his "Ministers" were lying and thereby committed an offence.
But for now, Fayose is abusing his immunity and cant be arrested till his tenure finishes in less than two years time.... and Buhari will stlil be a "Sitting President"! grin grin

2.) From the position of "Separation of Power" in the Nigerian Constitution , STATES and State-Apparatus are not allowed, empowered nor Constitutionally invited to 'delve into the area of "Foreign Policy".
This is an exclusive Preserve of the Federal Government.

By writing letters to a Foreign Govt on behalf of Nigeria, by instructing a Foreign govt "on behalf and against the Nigerian Govt", Fayose and his "Ministers" ....
(I keep using "Minister" because only a federal Govt can appoint Ministers, something which Fayose's clowns have turned themselves into!)...
have committed Fraud and Treason against the Nigerian Constitution

3.) Fayose did not stop there, he again flew to China (on tax-payers Money) while the President was on "State Business" in China, to antagonize the President (and hence the Sovereignty of Nigeria as a country) which makes it double Treason!
While he was doing all these, in his mind, he thought he was ridiculing the President.... now it is his turn to CRY! cry cry

4.) Even more surprising is that after all said and done, the same Fayose has the "temerity and shameless boldness" to ask the federal govt to extend the China projects and loan, to his state of Ekiti!
That in itself tells yhe whole story that his criticism was not based on facts, policy nor conviction but is the product of the usual "Wailing Wailers" of Jonathan.

Be that as it may, Fayose is an illiterate Thug (like the above poster), who has bitten more than he can chew on this one.
HE and his clowns will understand that it is better to "THINK before you ACT"!
He would understand that "the LAW is blind, devoid of feelings and a respecter of nobody".

Fayose knows what he is in-for and l made a bet that "Fayose would hand-over to his successor, from Exile"! grin grin
As for the rest of his silly accomplices who have no IMMUNITY like Fayose himself, well, the law allows TREASON ACCUSES to be kept in prison, pending investigation! Such investigation can only begin when Fayose's Governorship term ends..... so, they would remain in prison till then!

This na bad Market o! grin grin

All I know is that this is better than what any other government has done concerning the employment crises rocking Nigeria for a very long time.

The programme is not an employment but a means of ameliorating the plight of the teeming unemployed youths who find it difficult to eat each day.

May GOD bless the initiator of this programme even though I wont apply, I am happy because directly or indirectly, it'll better the life of my family and friends, however small.

Its sad that our Governance, aided by ignorant people like you who benefit one way or the other from the rot in the system, think "basic amenities" that Citizens are ENTITLED TO..... is not by force!

It has come down to the level of "take it or leave it, that is what we can provide", no matter how silly it comes across.

But l know that a good government does not substitute this kind of sham project, for "Creation of Jobs", which l think the Youths of this country are entitled to.
And if you cant even be smart enough to provide the Jobs, just create the "enabling environment" (Power, Fuel, Roads and low-interest loans) and our hard working Youths will pick it up from there.

But when a Govt becomes bereft of ideas, unresponsive and arrogant, they tell their YOUTHS "Its not by force".

FYI, l am not in the category of those who need this kind of "insult jobs and pay" ...... l have passed this stage, nearly three decades ago!
Back then, you study well, graduated with good grades (We even have "almost free" food in our University canteens so hunger was not a problem when studying) and when you finished your NYSC, you did a few interviews and their is a job for you .... or you set-up your own business and the environment was conducive to do so.

I really pity the Youths of these days, who have been reduced to "beggars" in their own country, that is rich and blessed with resources as well as saddled with corrupt and brainless leaders who only know how to steal from the public purse.

The only way to ameliorate poverty is to ensure what the people need to get out of poverty is provided so they can make use of those things.

Banjo negotiated a cease fire and d journey on a conquest to Lagos was halted allowing time for d Federal troup to regroup and repel the Biafran soldiers.

paulsowande:
Where do you think the whole idea of cease fire came from? It was suggested by ifeajuna and adopted by all of them. If the troops had been led by any of the other 3 cease fire would have also been negotiated because that was the agreement between them. Thank you for your insight!

Why would you betray someone, a whole nation of igbos..... and then GO BACK TO THEIR FOLD, when you could easily just surrender yourselves to your oen BROTHERS who will be too happy to receive you?

I am sure l am not the only one seeing that this DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, .... so "The BETRAYAL" argument was a very poor excuse, invented by Ojukwu, to silence all wisdom, while imposing his own foolishness, greed and power-drunk madness, on the hapless igbo population.

Th "betrayal argument" was also the narrative of dysfunctional Igbo fathers who chose to lie to their children and future generations, to cover-up a collective failure which was borne out of "greed and herd mentality"
!

GREED ... to control the Oil Resources of the Niger Delta
HERD MENTALITY .... for failing to stand-Up to Ojukwu and ask him "basic questions" like: Are we really prepared for this war at this moment? Can we really win this war? Let us assume your account is TRUE.
Let us also take it that the other accounts of How Ojukwu lied to his people and murdered ifeajuna, while Biafra fell within two days of their murder, is also TRUE.

Now, thinks about it: Why does a military Commander try to NEGOTIATE A CEASEFIRE?
Note: he did not desert, he did not turn over his weapons to the enemy .... but Negotiated a CEASEFIRE!

The reasons are that:
1.) The General (banjo and Ifeajuna) knew that the war was lost, by virtue of "hard facts' in the war front. Not like some Ojukwu hiding in a Bunker and ready to run-away

2.) He saw that further fighting will lead only to more NEEDLESS DEATHS, which cannot even reverse the course of the war

3.) He feels he can still wring-out some "concessions" from the enemy (A kind of Plea-bargain)

The fact that Enugu fell immediately these guys were murdered by Ojukwu and millions of Igbos died afterwards, shows that Ifeajuna and Banjo were right in their assessments of the war

4.) The fact that Ojukwu who murdered those who negotiated for a ceasefire, himself could not fight to the bitter end but ran-away while abandoning his people to be slaughtered like chickens, is a further confirmation that Ojukwu was a selfish, mere propagandist who valued his own life than that of his kinsmen.

5.) The fact that the same Ojukwu also came back to stand for elections under the Nigerian Govt (after NEGOTIATING A REPRIEVE FOR HIMSELF ALONE!), served as Senator as well, is the height of TREACHERY AND SABOTAGE to the Biafrans and a disgrace and humiliation to the memory of the millions he led to their death..and their family. This people would have been alive if Ojukwu had the courage and wisdom of the officers he murdered in cold blood.

A wise general knows when to fight-on, when to retreat and when to surrender.... but the "cowardly selfish" General knows only when to run-away and save his own head

Its unfortunate that it is the shameless coward, the traitor, the saboteur, is the one accusing others of the same thing and murdering them, for his own selfish ego.

Let me further classify this your nice classification

jenigurl:
How whites classify the tribes in Nigeria

Yorubas = financial crimes, financial fraud, scams, tax fraud, rapists, minor molestation, tribalistic, untrustworthy : Needs a high level of intelligence and sophistication, to commit this sort of crimes

Igbos = money rituals, drug pushers, drug Barrons, chest beating, unfriendly, wife beating, loud , arrogant, tribalistic: Base Savagery, un-evolved mentality and low-level intelligence laced with a lot of unabashed greed, is required to fall into this category

Hausa= religious fanatics, violent, rigid, mob mentality, Lynch mob prone, nepotic, paedophiles, child porn addiction: Lowest class in terms of intelligence, if any at all, brain-washed and robotic mentality required to excel at this level

South South= Lazy, promiscuous, alcoholics, uncivil, high robbery prone, fast money syndrome, militants: Poor family associations, misplaced sense of entitlement and greedy mentality

Nigeria which way forward?
Its a nice summary.

BTW: I have never heard of a white person considering Nigerians, not to even mention Yorubas, as being rapist! That must be from your own imagination.

Its a means (knowledge), given to us by Eledumare (What Oyinbos call God) ...to solve our own peculiar problems.
God also gave the white people their own, which they used in solving their own problem and developed their environment and culture.

After solving most of their own problems, they came down to Africa, (with Bible in hand) and told us our own 'legacy' is bad and evil.... we should discard it!

We "gullibly" accepted this.... and condemned our own heritage!
Thus, we are destined to ALWAYS and FOREVER play second-fiddle to the white man.

Question l always ask is:
Was the Bible (Religion in general) not there when you White people were developing your own land, using non-Christian means (mysticism, illuminati, e.t.c).

Coal fuelled the industrial revolution in Europe and America in the 30's to the 60's.

That woman does not love you, does not care about you, has her own hidden agenda (which mostly happens on those evenings), she might even be hobnobbing with another man, everyday after school)..... and will SHOCK YOU, when you list expect it.

At 35yrs, no one should be wasting your time... but God has a purpose for everything.

God is preventing you from being married to this woman.
You can listen to the voice of God... or you can be headstrong and keep trying to marry her at all cost!
But you will remember that one faceless person on Nairaland told you to "listen to the voice of God". It is the prayers of your parents that is still keeping you sane.

Walk-away from that woman.... you will ALWAYS find a better woman, "if you get your priorities right".
Dont walk into a "life of anguish, pain and frustration, that will linger with you for the rest of your life".

I am very experienced in this kind of matter and l can be very honest with you because you dont know me and would never know me.
MARRIAGE CAN MAKE OR MAN A MAN FOR LIFE! undecided

FAST and Go on your knees every now and then, pray to God and tell HIM to direct/order your footsteps, ask him for strength to be able to OBEY His words, as He speaks to your heart. Resign yourself to Faith.... LET THY WILL BE DONE.

GOD never does Evil.

Its your move.

Nusaf:
If u make this statement in the midst of Muslims and they attack u, the next thing is to start making noise upandan. If I may ask, has ur faith or anything related to it ever been insulted by Muslims the way u just did? I quite agree that the Muslims are aggressive but they don't insult Christianity the way the Christians do to Islam. The way the Christians insult the Muslims' holy prophet, is getting too much.I must say that since I was born, I have never heard a Muslim using derogatory language against Jesus Christ, why?
True!
But if Christians commit all the atrocities that you Muslims commit in the name of your Religion (Islam) and Prophet (Muhammad), l bet you you would do worse.

In reality, Christians have no given Muslims any reason to be worried or to feel they need to defend themselves.
How many times have you heard that Christians round up Muslims and slit their throat, for not converting to Christinaity?

But these are what Muslims do.... while shouting "Allahu-Akurubah"!

So, you can see that your Religion, your behaviour, your aggressiveness, your terrorist acts, your lack of tolerance, your blood-lust, your lack of respect for the "sanctity of human life", e.t.c is the reason why people insult your Religion and your Prophet, two entities that encourage all the EVILS that you practice, as ordered by them.

Mohammed himself, wrote your Quran and he encouraged violence, blood-lust, intolerance, which he called "holy War" (Jihad)!
What manner of Satanic animal encourages such things and wants to be respected?
May he rot in the hottest part of hell! yea, he deserves it.

Laid2001:
The anti balaka, the Lord rebels, Adolf hitler and his Nazis, the crusader wars, the balkan war, the bosnia genocide, the gulf war and the decimation of Iraq were all by Christians
There are Muslims in the American Army that fought in Iraq/Gulf wars. ..... It is a war over 'supposedly' Terrorism against America
There are Muslims in the Bosnia-Herzergovina War ...... it is a war over territory (Civil War)
World War 2 was a global war, with the Nazis (Germany, italy, Turkey, e.t.c) on one side, and the rest of America, Russia, U.K, et.c on the other side
The Balaka/Anti-Balaka war was a Tribal War. Each of those tribes has Christian and Muslims

None of these wars were fought over Christianity, as a Religion! That is, the wars were not fought because America or Britain was trying to FORCEFULLY CONVERT THE IRAQIS or BOSNIANS or BALAKAS, to CHRISTIANITY!

Daesh (isis), Boko Haram, Taliban, e.t.c are terrorists organisation, just like the Fulani Herdsmen who are committing atrocities because they want to force everyone to become a Muslim..... as "ordered" by that their Satanic Constitution called the Quran!

So, you see, Islam is a BIG problem to the whole civilized world, a threat to world peace.

Salami or what did you call your name sef?

The Man was attacked because he did not fast!

Now, was that done in the name of your Class teacher .... or in the name of your religion (Islam)?

If you agree that it was done in the name of your religion, then you should agree and understand when people abuse such a barbaric religion that does not preach TOLERANCE of any kind!

Even if he was a Muslim, how many times have you heard Christians slaughtering a Man, for not fasting?
Why is everything about ISLAM always BY FORCE and BY BLOOD?

I am a Christian, l dont fast during Lent (I fast whenever l want to), I eat better meat during Easter, even in public places (Nor be me kill Jesus nah!), l dont believe in "Christmas" (Jesus was not born in December and never celebrated Christmas anyway) but l use the Holiday period to Chillax ..... yet, no Christian has even dared to challenge my right to my own beliefs!
IT IS CALLED TOLERANCE AND RESPECT FOR OTHERS

That is how it should be.... and you these "fanatical, Islamist Terrorists" must learn to be tolerant of other peoples right to be who they want to be.

This Islamic religion needs to be reformed, so that it preaches forgiveness, tolerance, respect for divergence of opinion, respect for human life.... and the truth that there is No-Virgin anywhere, waiting for any religious fanatic who murders others or dies in the name of religion!

Nasiruddeen:
The Fulani herdsman is a business man and could never be denied access to grazing fields available to him anywhere in the country to run his business.
I see what is happening today as a new dimension to political and ethnic cleansing that if not carefully handled may lead to other big things. The herdsman is a Nigerian his rights must be exercised as a Nigerian, he has right for free movement like everybody else to pursue legitimate business and he cannot be denied access to any part of the country.
Yea, the "fulani" herdsmen (terrorists) also have the right to carry weapons openly?
They also have the right to R@pe women villagers in the East?
They also have the right to burn and loot whole communities?
They also have the right to destroy the livelihood of others (farms), just to feed their cows, right?

Tell me, what other right do you this Fulanis have?
Okay, l know: The right to have the BRAIN of a COW!

Now, run-along, Fulani Maluu/Cow!

It's Enugu State, not Anambra.
I know Nimbo is in Enugu but l had another similar incident that is more current, happening in Anambra, on my mind.

Read it here: https://www.nairaland.com/3152763/panic-anambra-communities-over-arrival

From Obinna Odogwu, Ekwulobia

There is palpable tension in Alor and Oraukwu communities in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State as about 15 Fulani herdsmen armed with AK47 rifles, machetes and daggers stormed Agbo village yesterday. The residents of Agbo, Okebunoye and Umunambu villages in Alor community; and its neighbouring Ohokwu village, have deserted their homes for fear of being attacked at night by the armed herdsmen who reportedly stormed Alor by 4:30pm.

This is coming barely 12 days after about 50 poisonous bows and arrows were intercepted from two suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ubana farmland in Dim-Ubana village.

When Daily Sun visited the area, several residential buildings were locked while the police, and other security agencies were patrolling to ensure tight security. Some residents said they have sought refuge in neighbouring communities.

The traditional ruler of Alor, Igwe MacAnthony Elibe Okonkwo, told Daily Sun that the Fulani herdsmen stormed their community in a Toyota bus and went into the bush.

His words: "Yesterday, around 4:30pm, information came from the residents of Agbo village in Alor, the boundary between Ohokwu village, Oraukwu and Alor that heavily armed Fulani herdsmen, numbering about 10 or so stormed our community. According to the residents who were working in their farms, the armed Fulani arrived in a Toyota bus and started going into the bush while the bus drove away. They were armed with AK47 rifles, machetes and daggers.

"As a result, the people of Agbo, Okebunoye and Umunambu villages deserted their homes for fear of being attacked at night by the herdsmen. So, I immediately alerted the DPO and the state Police Commissioner who sent in a team of policemen. I also informed other security agencies who arrived in droves. "

The state police command spokesman, Ali Okechukwu, said he was yet to be briefed on the development, promising to get update our reporter. However, a DSS official who preferred anonymity confirmed the development.
Thank you,

Firstlieutenant:
Instead of SE leaders to secretly mobilize their youths with weapons, they're rather too busy occupying and enjoying their political positions to the peril of their people .
That is the mindset of the average IBO (I aBove Others) person.

Did anyone notice the silence of the Governors from the East?
What does it take to summon the Commissioner of Police and ask him to mobilise to the community, arrest ANYONE bearing Arms, ...even Cows with Weapons under their Belly?

How difficult is that, for an Executive Governor of a State?

What about Mobilizing Armed Civil Defence Forces there, to 'search and destroy' any threat?
What about all those weapons they use for Political thuggery, cant they unleash that on the armed herdsmen?

Look, the Governors prefer to let their people die, than take the necessary hard decisions to protect them.
Even "mad Fayose", got that one right!

Again, why are majority of Ibos hiding their backside in Yoruba land, especially Lagos when their Villages are being dessecrated by these animals called Herdsmen?

Or is it just to abuse Yorubas they are good at?

Forget Buhari, it is obvious he has an ear/hearing problem..... save yourself while you can.
