Good evening great minds,

I am reaching out to seek advice and guidance from anyone who has experience with obtaining a World Education Services (WES) evaluation for immigration purposes (CANADA), specifically for transcripts from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

Each time I attempt to access the FUTA e-transcript page, I am met with a login screen, and I find myself unsure of how to proceed further in the process. If anyone has navigated this process successfully and can offer a step-by-step guide or any tips based on their experience, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thanks

why people just go for colleges. less stress
Not everyone might have money for tuition, so fullyfunded scholarship via MSC, PHD , POST DOC do come to the rescue. People do get it, though with some hard work.

Also, some people have different choices and plans for their JAPA. For example, some people might have interest in Academia, Research etc., the likes of Masters, PHD, Post Doctorate is the best path to actualize that.

its not just high cgpa, course also matters. highly competitive courses are more difficult to get in. also study gap in education matters. most supervisors prefer students without study gap.
Well said.

Another thing is that, some people put non relevant work experience on their ACADEMIC CV for graduate school application.

For example,
A Chemistry graduate who is looking for a Thesis-based Masters in Chemistry in Canada and is working as an HR is not expected to put such work experience on an Academic CV.

If you don't have work experience related to Chemistry, don't put work experience on your Academic CV

Please who can help in admission ro Cambrian college. I try applying to the school and the site is taking me to ocas site. And they are requesting for official transcript. And also all the program am selecting are close even up till January 2025. Any agent that can help in securing admissions. I don't want to rely on NBCC alone because they are already taking long in repling applicant. This is one month now no admission yet I check the fee on Cambrian college on same course I apply to in NBCC is 2k difference. I think I can afford that.
I heard of recent that Cambrian College, Sudbury now use agents for their applicants from Nigeria.

Google and look for the email address of the international admission office of Cambrian College and ask them about it.

Good day everyone.most colleges in Canada don't put required CGPA for postgraduate certificate programme.kindly list the colleges that will accept CGPA of 3.26 (on a scale of 5.0) for postgraduate certificate admission application and with high level of acceptance for admission.thanks alot
Yes they don't put CGPA on their Admissionrequirements. That's why 2.2 ,3rd Class graduates can get Post Graduate admission at colleges, most especially the ones located at Ontario province.

Colleges accept students based on two things:

Either the post grad. Certificate program you are going for is related to your Academic background or your work experience (even though that work experience is not in anyway related to that Academic background). There is a Microbiology graduate, who worked in a bank for 2-years in a bank, applied for a Post Graduate Certificate in Business mgt, got admission, his Study Visa was approved.

https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/414#95068409

Your CGPA is extra-sufficient for a Post Grad. CERTIFICATE admission at a college. Apply to colleges in Ontario if they have your post grad. certificate
program of interest . You would most likely be accepted. Their admission is not as competitive as that of Masters University Admission.

Potential Documents needed to apply for admission in a College for PG. Cert (Most especially at Ontario Colleges)

Hello
Please can you kindly recommend a hospital in Abuja for medicals that has quick service.. Thanks

Hello,

Kindly note that delay is normal. But I would advice you book medicals and get it done and send to IRCC so you don't delay your application the more. Medicals has expiration of 1year, so you have nothing to loose by doing it early. Available dates are getting scarce
For Canada immigration , IRCC have designated clinics for medicals, which are:

IOM - Located only in Lagos and Abuja
Q-life - Located only in Lagos

Any medicals you do outside these aforementioned clinic is not valid for Canada Study Visa Application or anything that has to do with Canada immigration.

Hi Mr Ednut, Trust you are doing well. I commend you and other members of this platform for the great job you all are doing here

I have some questions as regards CEC (Canadian Experience Class) category of express entry

- Is it true that a student who studied and worked full time 1-year in Canada can use the Police Clearance Certificate he/she use for his/her Canada Study Visa Application as a student to apply for the express entry category of CEC as far as he/she didn't leave the country since arrival?

- For NYSC work experience, how can i use it to claim 1-year work experience from Foreign Country (Nigeria)?

Cos in my own scenario, I arrived camp 26th March 2015, after the 3 weeks Camping, I was accepted in my PPA on the 16th of April 2015. I started working 5th of May 2015, I had my POP on March 5th 2016. On my NYSC discharge certificate it says 27th March 2015 to 26th March 2016 (52 weeks and 1 day).

So will my counting date for 1-year work experience be the one on my NYSC Discharge Certificate which shows the complete 1 year ?

What are the documents one can show for the NYSC 1-year work experience to claim points.

- Is the Biometric done for Canada Study Visa also valid for express entry in the CEC category?

- For someone who haven’t left Canada since he arrived as a student, is such person still required to do medicals?

Thanks

MSc opportunity in sustainable marine antifouling, Canada

https://wyethlab.ca/2022/05/20/biofouling-graduate-student-position-available/

Are you interested in developing technology that supports coastal communities? Are you interested in sustainable solutions to global economic challenges? Would you like to collaborate with a diverse group of specialists toward a common goal?

The Canadian federal government has invested in the development of sustainable anti-biofouling technology through the provision of an NSERC Alliance Missions grant for a partnership of Atlantic Canadian academic researchers and industry. Researchers at Cape Breton University have partnered with teams at Dalhousie University, St. Francis Xavier University, and Memorial University of Newfoundland Grenfell Campus to form a multi-institutional research network to coordinate graduate training, research outcomes and deliverables, intellectual property development, and market translation of novel sustainable marine coatings. We are collectively recruiting three graduate students who will work synergistically towards our overall goals. More information on the overall partnership is here.

The fully funded graduate position in the Wyeth Lab is focused on experimental approaches for evaluating anti-biofouling activity during high-throughput and field testing of coatings and/or UV-C irradiation. The candidate will be registered in a Master of Science program at St. Francis Xavier University and will interact with the Center for Biofouling Research, but also participate in the multi- institutional team including some travel to do experimental work at Cape Breton University. The target start date for this project is January 1, 2023.

For further information see the link above or contact Dr. Russell Wyeth: rwyeth@stfx.ca

As an international student, you can't run two different courses concurrently. You will have to complete the first program prior to enrolling for the second program so you can qualify for a three years PGWP.

It will end in praise
Thanks for the response, actually the bolded is the plan, but
the bone of contention here is this, the second program in question is a 1 year program aswell at another DLI, and they also offer PGWP but it's a part time program.

Can one go for this particular 1-year program (that offers PGWP, one year, part time), after finishing the first full-time , 1year program?

Thanks

Good morning everyone,

I got a question,

For Someone who is running a full time 1 year Program in Canada, can such person take a second Program that is One year but part time?

The school offering this second program is a DLI and is PGWP eligible, and they accept international students.

The intentions of this person is to do this part time 1-year second program and get a 2-3years PGWP

Thanks

Don't apply to that school cos they don't offer PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit) eligible programs and that's not good for you if you intend staying in Canada after your studies.

There are lots of disadvantages applying to a school that doesn't offer PGWP eligible programs.

In your best interest, apply to a school that offers PGWP eligible programs.
