Hello,
Happy new year to every one on this platform. I have been reading through the posts in this thread from the previous part 17 and now 18. This group is really a blessing and i tap from it.
I am interested in the study route to Canada and migration is my main intention. I studied science and technical education(mechanical/metal works options) and graduated with a 2.2 in 2017
Please which University or College in Canada can i apply to with a low tuition between $8,000CAN to $15,000 CAD a year. Help a brother in need, All response are welcomed.
Hi,

With a 2.2, you can apply to a college for a PG. Cert program in Mechanical Engineering/Welding/Manufacturing

Do refer to the post in the link below for
PG. Cert Programs in Mechanical Engineering/Welding/Manufacturing programs
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/483#95675552

Look out for the PG.Cert that resonate well with you undergraduate degree, most especially the courses you did in school

- About low tuition fee, you can't get that, i doubt if you can get that $8K CAD tuition you mentioned, international students pay a whole lot than domestic students.

In terms of tuition, put your mind to the range of in between $15k CAD - $20KCAD

If you open the Tuition section of those programs in the link above you would confirm that

Also note that LIVING EXPENSES is there aswell

So financial readiness is very essential for this movement

Bless you!!!!

thanks another thing is that I’m applying for PGC at conestoga. I’m many to go for my service this feb but I want to waive it! I hope it won’t affect my visa negatively? Thanks
Hi,

This is my own suggestion....

Though NYSC is not a requirement for study Visa application, but I think you should do your NYSC first, then before you pass out, you can be processing your PG. Cert Admission, get it and apply for Visa. That one year period you can be using it to gather documents for your Admission & Visa.

Your NYSC PPA Acceptance Letter & your Discharge Certificate would show that you have a One year Work Experience. A Letter of Recommendation from that your PPA would be essential when you want to apply for Permanent Residence (PR).

From one of your post, you said you have the opportunity & connect to work in a food processing company for your NYSC and luckily for you, that is closely related to your degree. Not everyone has this opportunity, most corpers are being posted to schools to teach, so make use of this opportunity.

That one year Work experience can be helpful if you want to apply for Permanent Residence (Express Entry, PNP etc.) after your studies.

You still have age by your side, so play your cards well, so it can favor you both in your Study Visa Application & PR application in the nearest future.

For your Study Visa Application, having a work experience also has it's own benefit, most esp. If it relates to the program you want to go and study in Canada

Thank you so much for the explanation. Must sponsor actually get email notification from the bank but will inform her about this. Although she made this first week of December.
You are welcome

From what you just said now, it's shows its your sponsor that Paid your tuition, that being said, its your sponsor that will get that mail or your Sponsor gets that TELEX RECEIPT in person from the bank.

Its just like when you pay for something, via your account, it's you they would send the debit alert to.

So in a Nutshell, your Sponsor should get the TELEX RECEIPT from the bank she paid the Tuition. I would assume the bank your sponsor paid your tuition is her bank so that should be easy for her

I did my biometric since 23rd November 2020 and it was updated on 27th on November since then I haven’t gotten any other update, pls am i to hold on ?,send messages to them?do medical upfront?etc
There is no time frame to when IRCC would/should contact you as far as your application is still within the normal processing time.

If you notice in this forum, lately lots of applicants are not waiting for MEDICAL REQUEST, so as to expedite their application, they do an UPFRONT MEDICAL

If you intend to do an UPFRONT MEDICAL, do refer to this post

Good morning please is there any evidence of payment one can send to school when a student pays tuition via form A cos my school is still insisting they haven't received my payment.
Hi Oyin,

There are factors that can make them not be able to receive the payment yet.
- So you know that payment via form A can take 1- 3 days or more & in some cases 2-3 weeks.

- The Xmas & New year holiday might have aswell slow down things.

But this is what you can do,

There is a receipt called TELEX RECEIPT, the bank you used to pay the tuition ought to give you that receipt in person or send it to you via e-mail (if you are the one that paid the school fees from your account ) or your Sponsor (if it's he/she that paid using his/her account)

Once you get that telex receipt, scan it and send it to your school international dept. by mail telling them you have paid your Tuition ,and they should find attached the Tuition Payment Receipt from the bank you used in your home country, and you look forward to hear from them soon

A TELEX RECEIPT should have the following Content (Sample)

Apart from Mastercard, is it possible to get full funded scholarship in University of Toronto or University of British Columbia?
Yes there is, but more like ANOTHER ROUTE, mostly referred to as HIDDEN ROUTE

This is not the conventional MasterCard, Erasmus Mundus, Chevening Fully-funded Scholarships that most people know of

Now how can you get a FULLY-FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP IN CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES
Take your time and go through all contents in the link below

Full guides on how to apply for MASTERS or PH.D programs in Canadian Universities, Hidden Routes on how to Secure a Supervisor (Professor) and also get possible FUNDING (SCHOLARSHIP)

The above content is also applicable to other Universities in Canada not only UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO & UBC

Note: I'm not an expert nor guru, I only shared this information cos it is applicable to your question and similar question have been asked in the past

The gurus and members in this forum who have followed this path and got Fully-funded Scholarships would be able to guide you further if there is anything you ain't clear of

What about using landed properties as Home ties, my son is less than 2years,what Di you think?
Yes you can use it

Apart from your Husband and Kids as ties to your home country
- Landed Properties
- Parents
- Siblings
- Your Job in Nigeria
- Positions (e.g Church Youth Leader etc.)

are good Hometies

Since you are married , your Husband and Kid is a strong tie to your home country

To whether your Son (less than two ) can go with you or not, that I can't say, but I feel it's possible

A married Applicant with a kid at that Age range and was successful with her Visa would be able to answer this question

Gurus too can help

Thank you for your input. I just don't want to waste money on application fees cause about three people have told me the same thing that i might not get admission applying for a pgd and at the same time, if i go for an advanced diploma, it does not show career progression. Kind of in a dilemma atm.
You are welcome,

Hmmmm, well No risk, No Reward, So the above link I sent is just an Approach to take a Calculated Risk that can be favorable to you, and so you won't put all your eggs in one basket, try apply to two schools (colleges)

I have friends who applied for a PG. Cert admission in a College with a 3rd class degree, and they got Admission (Cambrian College & Conestoga College to be precise)

Suggestion
- Try apply to Cambrian College (if they have a computer related PG. Cert program)
I heard they have Application Fee waiver for International Students, try confirm that, then you can use your Application fee to apply to another college
e.g Conestoga College and check for a computer related PG. Cert program there and apply, I have seen a response in this forum that says Conestoga College accept 3rd Class

Like you know already Advance Diploma shows no Career progression for a B.TECH/B.SC Graduate

What does it profit an applicant to get admission for a wrong program qualification & not get study visa due to wrong career progression

In a nutshell, do your due diligence & don't be scared to take the bull by the horn

You can await more suggestions to your questions which can be helpful aswell

Hello guys i have a btech in computer science with a cgpa of 2.3. I was thinking i could go for PG diploma but the agent I'm planning on using is saying i can't, that i must have a cgpa of at least 2.5. And i can only go for an advanced diploma. Is she correct? and does that show a career progression?

Thank you very much, I've gotten the page.
Additionally,

To Solidify your Mybank Statement ticket details, note that you will also require a letter from your bank showing at least 12 months banking history. This letter will show your accounts, opening date, outstanding debts such as credit cards and loan.
In a nutshell, this letter will show that the account has been operated to a satisfactory level. It must be printed on the bank letter head and include your name and contact of the bank

This what most bank refers to as BANK REFERENCE LETTER

The Letter will be addressed to the Canadian Embassy

The Visa Officer
The Deputy High Commission,
Canadian embassy
4, Anifowoshe Street
Victoria Island, lagos

The bank can either give you this letter in person or they send it to the mail of the bank account owner

You would upload this Bank Reference Letter together with your Mybank Statement ticket

This is from someone that used a GT Bank & Polaris Bank for their application
