Anyone going through the current 'Change' that APC promised us during the last election will not think twice before casting a protest vote against APC.

Plus, APC is over reaching, how do they expect to win in Rivers State?

That is why the US will always ahead if us, during elections, there are solid blue states, solid red states and toss up states...most vigorous fights are done on toss up states and not the solid ones...I think Rivers is solid PDP in the same Soloto is solid APC.

I do not think teens process or understand the words 'hate' and 'love' with the same gravity, weight and depth as adults......hate is usually translated to dislike and love to lust or flirtation, as they grow; their level of understanding will be enhanced...even some of us adult find it difficult to separate love from lust.

However, the most important thing is their circle of friends and upbringing as they matures...some refuse to grow out of that teenage myopic understanding, depending on their circle of friends and upbringing thereby corrupting their adult understanding and application of those emotions.

For your little sister, it appear she is surrounded by people that care much about her; your approach is notable, continue in that line, tell your mother to also calm down. The bitter truth is, as we pass through puberty, adults and our parents cannot 'save' from every negativity out there...sometimes our curiosity takes the better part of us (which is good, God put curiosity in us for good purpose, so we can think outside the box) and we experiment with somethings and experience first hand that, our actions were bad afterall ....as they say, experience is the best teacher. Little kids are attracted to fire and despite the best efforts of their parents to prevent them from touching the lamp/fire from fear of getting burnt, majority of kids do not take hinder until they have actually touched the fire/lamp, and get burnt and that experience is valuable in chanting a corrective course within their subconsciousness. Also, that moment of getting burnt is a valuable moment, where their brains will connect the pains they now feel to the previous multiple warnings of their parents not to touch. This experience is very powerful and the lesson is eternal and wouldn't have come about, if they had not tried and failed.

Bottom line, keep doing what you are doing; but also know that, you can't protect her from all and every negativity out there, some day she will be on her own and protecting her like an egg only to release her into the world without some independent actions or choice or growth process of her own will be a great de-service to her and part of that process entails her getting some first hand experiences even she have to make some mistakes and learn by those experiences. However, you should always be there to reinforce the positives, and if she stumbles be quick to give her assistance and encouragement, she will definitely notice the difference; assure her that, you meant good for her and that whatever happens, she can always come to you....As for that dairy and it's content, I wouldn't loss a sleep over it.

PoliticsBuhari Sweeps Off 184 Top Officials Over Budget Padding by linearity(op): 10:45pm On Mar 11, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday, made good his threat to deal ruthlessly with top civil servants who altered figures in the 2016 budget thereby making nonsense of his zero budget plan.

No fewer than 184 top budget officials were flushed out of budget duties and sent to establishments that have little or nothing to do with budget, as a punishment for their roles in padding this year’s fiscal document, now before the National Assembly.

A top official in the Budget office confirmed that 22 top officers from the Budget Office of the Federation were affected in the mass deployment.

The rest were moved away from budget-related duties in other Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

Vanguard learnt that out of the 22 top officials indicted in the budget office, four were directors on Level 17, six were deputy directors while 12 were Assistant directors.

As the affected officials were moved from their posts in the Budget Office, 14 other directors said to have been ‘tested’ have been redeployed to the same office with immediate effect.

The order to remove the tainted officials from their previous posts to other duties, was conveyed to the affected offices by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, according to finding by Vanguard.

All the affected officers, according to the directive, are to report in their new locations on or before the close of work today.

When contacted, the Media Adviser to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Akpadem James, confirmed the development but declined to give further details.

It would b recalled that while in Saudi Arabia last month, President Buhari had threatened to punish all those who were involved in the padding of the budget.

Apart from removing the director of budget, he also merged the budget office with the planning ministry.

Nope. Double taxation in the C-Corp is a different thing from foreign vs local tax. Double taxation is the nature of a C-Corp. tax on dividend and tax on income. Now, that is totally different from a sole proprietorship that mostly reports a loss. Hardly would you see a company report a profit except they are public. Why? The cost of doing business. So insinuating that Dencia is avoiding tax is a fallacy. Do you know if she filed tax in Nigeria and is incorporated? Even if she has income in Nigeria and discloses it, the income is taxable up to the loss she probably experienced in Nigeria. Tax issues are not so simple and straight forward. A lot goes into determining whether an entity owes tax in a given year. So you cannot insinuate that she is avoiding tax, or she would even owe tax.
I understand LLC/s-Corp/c-corp taxation... You hit the nail in the head when you state that, businesses can use expenses to reduce or limite their tax reliability, but you diverted when you summise that she might be incorporated in Nigeria or might be paying taxes, or that she might not be avoiding taxes, etc.

Her setup is exactly how shell foreign companies hide their foreign income from taxation. It is now illegal not to report foreign bank accounts in IRS tax filings and with BVN, it is very easy for IRS to find people who hide their accounts with significant amounts, they did that in highly secretive Swiss banks and can do it in Nigeria.

What did she do? She ask Pearl to pay all payments coming from Nigeria in Pearl's personal account. That is not the typical behavior of a Nigeria incorporated company, even if she does not want to get a corporate bank account, why not open a personal one and have all payments go into it? Does it have anything to do with IRS requirement to report all foreign accounts?

Also, from her comments, N40m plus another $15k were missing and she did not know until she read the girl's txt messages, that is more than $150k, which means, she must have been commanding much more than that amount in trades...I think IRS will be interested in that level of international transaction....As you said, she can make up expenses to cover all that amount, while all her money is in someone else personal account that she cannot report to IRS...and you do not see any deception or attempt to avoid taxation in that?

Not necessarily. Business owners can get a credit off taxes paid in foreign countries against the taxes paid in their home country. Home countries don't double tax because they understand that business owners also pay tax to the foreign governments. You do declare the income and write off expenses including tax paid to foreign governments. Even if she had to pay tax it will not be substantial as you can write off a lot of business expenses.

The fact is this little fool has destroyed herself because of greed. Whether Dencia pays tax or not is not her business. Her business as an employee is to sell the product and remit funds to her employer. Which is stole and that is a very big crime. She is a rogue and a clear eyes criminal who people should run from.
They are two different revenue streams, taxes paid abroad can only offset taxes assessed on the foreign earned income....e.g. if Nigeria taxed the income you earned in Nigeria, the US is not going to give you credit towards that tax on your US earned income....The IRS will calculate your tax liability for that foreign income and if the amount is greater or equal to the amount already paid in taxes in Nigeria, then your US tax liability for the foreign earned income will be zero, otherwise you will be assessed taxes on that foreign income just like on your US income. And it can not be negative i.e. it can not have an effect of reducing your already assessed tax on incomes earned within the US.

If the business is incorporated, the taxing policy are different depending if it is an LLC, S-corp or C-corp...and yes there is still double taxation in the US especially C-corps.

Yea, I guessed as much.

But i still don't see how she would have been liable to even withholding tax in the US since the transactions in question took place through her 'agent' in Nigeria. From the way I understand the arrangement, there wasn't really any concrete structure for all that

Or maybe it's my knowledge of these tax matters that are already rusty sha...
She is liable for estimated taxes, which is a form of withholding only that, IRS trust you as the business owner to remit the correct estimated amount, if there is a variance between amount remitted via estimation and IRS computed amount on tax day and that amount is great that IRS set threshold, you will be assessed a penalty by IRS.

US citizens and Residents are required to pay taxes on all foreign incomes. It also appear that, Pearles was more than, she was an employee of her in Nigeria, she controls everything and what need to be done and how the money have to be use, that is not how agent vs supplier relationship functions.

I have to say though, if she had been savvy there are legal ways to defer foreign income or profits for 10s of years and still not pay a dime in taxes in the US.

My brother,

Please be educated on these
1. It is the madatory responsibilities of ALL CITIZENS to pay tax. That is what the constitution says
2. The constitution did not say we should wait till complete a "rebirth process" or your faith in government before some people should pay taxes. The constitution is clear on the terms, which is provided you earn income. See exerpt below

3. Payment of taxes is a civic responsibility. It is not a bargaining chip or an economic equaliser. It is well stipulated in the constitution. That is also how it is in your so called "ultra capitalistic" and "developed" societies. The constitution did not state that payment of taxes is conditioned on whether the government establishes a minimum sustainability threshold.....

We must separate emotions from the statues
The Nigeria constitution as you have quoted only gives a general guideline to collect taxes on income, the constitution did not specify what income level should be taxed neither did it stipulate what percentage to tax or how frequent it should...all that and minimum standard of living is left to elected representatives to iron out plus the detail tax policies...The constitution did not forbids the representative from establishing minimum standards or making progressive tax policies...they can choose to tax certain income level at 30%, others at 0.0001% and even do a positive redistribution to some low income earners to offset their tax bills.

The US tax code as outlined in the 16th amendment is similar to that of Nigeria and it says..."The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration"

When the US congress start setting the actual tax policies, they put in provisions to take care of the feeble, weak, low income earners, people living below poverty line, income redistribution at tax filing, etc; despite the fact that the constitution did not specifically say they should do that.

If America can take care of her poor and weak citizens through her tax code, Nigerian legislatives can do likewise and there is absolutely nothing in the Nigeria constitution that forbids them from adding such policies into existing tax laws.

If you look at the economic of scale, the revenue realized from a tax increase of e.g. 0.001% on the very rich can be close to the same amount realized from about 99% tax on the very poor in Nigeria...common sense tax policy will tell you that laws forgiving low income earners their tax liabilities and instead redistributing that liability to top income earners by just increasing their top rate by a few fractional percentage points makes perfect sense and it is progressive.

1. Wrong premise and wrong assumption. simple scale economics tells you that the share numbers of these people will make mince-meat of the effort
2. A typical mama Ego will first be registered and profiled. It will be established(on an average)from what she sells how much is the minimum she ought to make (even if she makes less). From this her tax bracket will be determined and the requisite taxes calculated.
3. Referring to paying taxes as another means of extortion is tantamount to being uninformed and crudely ignorant. Look at it like this, in a Face-me-I-face you house, where about 20 rooms share one meter, do they exempt someone from paying electricity bills because he's the poorest? Paying tax is the responsibility of every citizen
O boy, I like your enthusiasm; the Nigeria you painted above is still under going the rebirth process. When dem nofa fit distribute national ID cards for more than 5 years now, na mama ego food sellers them want wan fit profile across the breadth of Lagos?

And you must have a full faith in government that, all monies collected from these transit food seller and mini business owners will be accurately accounted for and remitted.

Though, you are wrong to insinuate that, paying tax is the responsility of everyone. It is not even done that way in industrialized and even ultra capatalistic societies. Taxation policies should be an instrument of government to establish minimum living standards across it's people, it should also serve as an economic equalizer, else it becomes repressive to many....Many citizens who fall at this minimum income borderline should not be made to pay taxes, as doing so will that takes below the sustainability threshold...and those whose income are below this borderline should get some redistribution from the government to push them up towards the minimum threshold.

Therefore, the government should first establish minimum sustainability thresholds and build it's tax policies around it, instead of going around and chasing down every living soul for tax money, some can't simply afford to pay and government agents should not inhibit their means of livelihood as a result of that.

This is another means of extortion of money from petty traders who can't afford to make ends meet and the extorted monies will end up in private pockets and accounts.

My guy sorry eh, you do enter one chance bi that...even some cults will allow you to quite without threat of bodily harm and your financee will not even allow you to cancel the wedding?

I seriously hope this is a joke and fictional or else how can you see all these signs and still want to marry this lady?

If she is wiping your relatives with belt, giving you a black eyes, pushing you against the wall and even (in your own words) would have used a knife on you if one was around, etc now that she is a gf, when she is married, expect the worst.

It is very obvious she is the one that wears the pant (aka trouser) in that relationship. My guy, cloth get size, look for your size. When God created marriage, he clearly says the man should be the head, if you are a lady and are in a relationship which you are the one wearing the pants, that relationship is not of God and if you are a man and it is the lady wearing the pant, check yourself and go look for your size.

Love in a relationship is not everything, the truth is, the word love is abused and made to mean what it is not...Love they say is in the eyes of the beholder, meaning what you call love might be rubish to someone else and if you break it down 'love' is actually gloried sets of likes...you see a lady (or a lady sees a man) and identify sets of things in that person they like, then they 'fall' in love, the more things they find, the move great and romantic the love becomes...look well, there is another lady around the corner that you can fall in love with.

Your situation is also one of the drawbacks in relationships, where sex is forbidden until after marriage. The truth is sometimes men are driven by their small head (the one in between their legs) rather than the big head...ask them and they will swear they are within reason and are in love not knowing that, it is lust...but once the small head is allowed to chop small food and then realize that, that pussy is not any special than the one you have eaten before, the small head will kool down and allow the big head to reason well. I think girls will also benefit from this, becos by giving him pussy, if he went further to propose, it means there is something else he finds attractive in you...by withholding pussy and deep down knowing that it is all the same and on the other end the guy is thinking this is golden, it is a perfect ill storm that will hurt both of you....

I am 99% sure that, if you had had sex with this lady, you would not be this determined to go into this marriage that will obviously lead to your death or severe injury and her getting locked up in the prison, you can see where getting the small head out of the way benefits both of you.
