Firefire:Printing more Naira notes is not a solution, the simple supply and demand economy equilibrium will kick, too much supply of Naira in circulation, leads to less demand, thereby forcing the value of Naira downwards to the next point where supply vs demand balances out...this will further lead to the appreciation of dollar against the Naira and the resulting effect will be inflation, because as the value of Naira decreases because there is too much of it in circulation, it's worth decreases so is the goods & services it could buy....but activities like these have to be maintained to certain point such that, Naira will not become a dumping ground for all manner of imports and a crippled export ability, thereby affecting manufacturing activities that rely on foreign raw materials. Ironically, part of the solution to the current problem is to soak a lot of Naira out of circulation. The inability of various states to pay salaries in helping this as Naira is not been pump into the economy as much as it should have. Shortage of Naira in the economy drives demands for Naira up, thereby driving the value of Naira up to the next upper equilibrium point, but a point have to be maintained so as not to stiffed growth, imports, etc... |
caramel403:It simply means they have taken someone else for the job, it is a polite rejection. |
Jonathan2787:Not true, kids and teachers get suspended or disciplined in school in those western world you quoted for behaviors like these... The internet is littered with examples, this is just one of them... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/10512511/Boy-6-suspended-from-US-school-for-kissing-girl.html Agreed, the parent whose kids are on the receiving end of these kind of punishment might see it differently, but the general society and the school authorities does not condole it as you have surmised, rather they frown at it... |

herbie27:Chancellors are mostly ceremonial, the VC does the heavy duty and most if not all the work. |
@micronut, please correct your assumptions that, 'he is the youngest chancellor' as that is not true...this will help posterity doing research when they happen upon this page via Google search or any means. The Oni of Ife is 40 years old, the Dein of Agbor; Oba Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi, was 29 years old, when he was appointed as the chancellor of the University of Ilorin by Obasanjo in 2006. https://www.nairaland.com/1158809/keagborekuzi-youngest-crowned-king-world |
prophetfire:The divorce Suit No FD14D01650, filed in the Central Family Court, High Holborn, London; by his wife in April 2014 alleges among other things, the following the following against the husband: 1. Unreasonable behaviors. 2. Adultery. Look it up. |
hamilton62:Nonsense, your first and primary duty as a man of God is to your wife and family, no matter how tough and busy the work of God is. This is why Paul admonished ministers to be like him i.e. to remain unmarried, because he knows that the task is daunting, but if you choose to marry, you can neglect or diminish your marital responsibilities because of the ministry. 1Tim 3:4-5; said a MOG must rule his own family well with all his children under the teachings of God and that, if he cannot bring his own family under the control of God, how can he achieve same for the church. This is also a disqualification criteria for a pastor or bishop during the bible days. |
hamilton62:Are you sure, you are not leaving out the scriptures that also said....He that does not provide for his household is worst than an infidel? The news on the street had it that, there were some essential marital responsibilities that were lacking on the part of the MOG towards his ex-wife. The bible also warned not to foresake your marital bed i.e. do not deny the other's access to bedmatics unless it was mutually agreed upon and must be for a short period of time, lest the devil tempt you. They both are responsible and since the man is the head, he takes majority of the blame for his inability to keep his home. |
Bobby4090:I think you are onto something there, and for that you win the Internet for today! |
keypad1:That sword cuts both ways, paraphrasing you....'don't tell me he has not fvcked since separating from his wife' |
Davidovinci:How did you know that, it wasn't a case of cheating. The wife alluded to much of that in her accusations against him. |
foolish men, as one is dead and the other is heading to prison for the rest of his life, another man (likely a friend or someone they know) will now be servicing their wives, the very thing they wanted to prevent... |
dated, but good info. |
jmoore:It is not there because, it is a fool's paradise. The husband that is unfaithful today did not start off as being unfaithful...He most likely was faithful then, hence you married him to begin with. Alternatively, if he were unfaithful when you married him, what is the point of leaving him on account of his unfaithfulness now for someone faithful? |
airsaylongcon:Not ironclad as you may think, friends of a friend can view your post and pictures...even after further restrictions for posts and profiles to only be accessible to friends....if a friend like any of your posts or picture, by defaults since friends can view other friends likes, their friends who are not yours, can then also view your post or pictures that have been liked. |
fexichi:Ouch! as your mother, is she not suppose to be your number one friend? |
airsaylongcon:Facebook was build around lest privilege and more openness, despite all the newly added privacy options and buttons added to silence people outcries about the intrusiveness and lack of privacy on Facebook. The option you just highlighted, despite it hype about what it offers, it is still porous....your friends on Facebook can see your likes...so e.g. If Kola is a friend to Bola on Facebook and let assume Kola flagged all his posts, pictures, etc to 'friends only' as you have indicated....this means only Bola along with other Kola friends can theoretically see Kola's posts and pictures...but in practice, that is not true...if Ahmed is a friend to Bola and not a friend to Kola, Ahmad can see all Bola's likes on Facebook, so if Bola likes Kola's post or picture viola! Ajman will see those Kola posts and pictures despite Kola's privacy settings. There are many other ways of piggy backing on friends of friend to see what others are doing on Facebook. The surest way to ensure your privacy is to stay off the internet, and definitely not on Facebook whose business model is built around making your info public. Facebook market capitalization is about $300 billion, which means Facebook is bigger than companies like GE, HP, Dell, Starbucks, Target, New York Times, Amazon, Disney, eBay, Nokia and the list goes on...but these are brick and mortal companies with real products, services, etc...what is Facebook product? They do not charge users a penny to use their service but are big because their business model is build around marketing those users info, though sometimes they anonymize them, but it is still public info, hence those privacy settings are not as ironclad as advertised. |
airsaylongcon:There is a way around that, since fb posts are visible to friends of a friend. All your parents or that individual need do is to befriend one of your friends and this could be another relative and voila! they can read your wall and see your profile pic, album, etc. |
misspicy:Logically, he does not need to be forced. If you over-dose someone with drugs, even if that person is a willing participant, you can be charged with attempted murder or at the least, with accessory to attempted murder...if it can be proven that death would have resulted. Worldwide jurisprudence have a lot of things in common, so the Michael Jackson's Doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray case come to mind and he was convicted of Michael Jackson's death. |
Sincere request for information, they say no knowledge is lost.... So, I understand the pills; which is to give the guy urge & make his attention last longer and in some cases make it bigger, since there will be increased blood flow to the nether region of the body; the big question is or puzzle is, what is the significant of the milk? Is it a quick source stamina, energy and drive to sustain the attention, because that attention thing is a huge energy drain, especially if the driver is not natural. I have heard of people drinking milk to dilute the effect of poison and all that, but have never heard it used in this context. Wouldn't a good and continual supply of akpu or eba or some nice protein food or some energy drink, be a better source of near-everlasting energy to replenish the energy drainage, resulting from the everlasting attention and the continual workload output (8:00am to 2:00pm is not a joke)? Please, sincere thoughtful and articulated answers will be appreciated...I am trying to add to my body of knowledge here and google is not helping. So I will like to hear from anyone with knowledge of the 'word on the street' about this or who have a general idea or who can dissect this in an articulate manner, or better still, who have experienced it. Thanks. |
folksync:If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. |
teemanbastos:The easiest way is to replace it with something healthy e.g. buy and drink bottled water when you craze for soft drink or mineral water or vitamin water, etc there are many replacement/alternatives out there. At first, it will feel weird, but with time you will get use to the alternative, it is mostly psychological aka 'mind games'. |
donsheddy1:So wise one, what will (4 x 3/4) + (4 x 1/2) give us? |
tripplephi:And you think the date annually fixed to celebrate Easter and Christmas were the actual dates of Jesus' death and birth? Those dates have their origins in pagan worship that still exists till today. I guess you also worship the Sun God on Sundays ...sorry, let's remove the 'Sun' and pretend that, we do not know the origin of worshiping on Sunday, if that makes you feel better. |
boluwatife45:Typical pump and drop; after 2weeks, the same site will drop like hot lead to even a worst Alexa rating because the pump was not backed by white hat SEO methods and organic traffic. |
PayPalKing:I didn't see anything bad that was done by the fan? He/She heard a rumor and brought it to her her attention, the fan's state clearly inficayes that the source was other than him/her. Tonto's response on the hand is a low blow. |
jmoore:You forgot: :::Search for '2015' Replace with '2016' :::Save As :::Submit. |
banmee:Let me rephrase..."I am better for it", it made me a better person, believe me pain is a motivator. I grew up in an Army Barrack in Nigeria and we knew that all too well. We know that, each time you misbehave; part of the corrective measures involves some level of pain and we do not run home to report all pains we have endured to our parents, we learn to fight and take our stands, even if that means taking more pains in the process. Believe me, no one/society have a monopoly on what set of measures will produce the right results as it involves lots of variables. Even America that espouses most of the methodologies you have enumerated, have the highest rate of teen delinquencies, high prison rates among teens, high rate of truancy, teen pregnancies, teen drug addicts, the list goes on and on... |
gemale:I posted a follow-up to this post of mine as a response to another user. One of my major arguments about this been 'traumatizing' is that most of us that are of age now, lived through these same system and even worst when we were in our teens going to school in Nigeria. Then, it was not only teachers that caned you mercilessly, even other students who are just a year above you terrorize you in school constantly. What I do not get is, when did it become 'traumatizing'? Were we immune to the traumatizing effects them compare to teens of today? Maybe, that is why we now have many thieving politicians, Armed Robbers, Terrorists, etc and by protecting the teens today, they will turn out better than my generation that suffered those same canings in decades past but are suffering some traumatic effects today. I am not cordoning it in any form, my position is; do we have enough empirical data to conclude that, it is traumatizing or led to one not doing their homework or some of us becoming mis-fits in society (in a Nigerian setting, not America or other westernized society) or we are just blowing it's adverse effect, which is momentary pains out of proportion and reacting too much to the emotional outburst of the kids. One thing I have come to realize is that, kids these days use their emotions to remote control their parents, they know the types of button to push in order to get certain reactions from parents. We never use to be able to get away with it, even with emotional outburst while growing up. If I were this kid and seeing this level of support and sympathy; the lesson will be that, not doing my homework is not really that bad of an idea depending on the reaction of my teacher. |
