Subsequent to imposing the stamp duty of N50 on bank customers for money received into their accounts, see the thread below... https://www.nairaland.com/2877070/n50-stamp-duty-imposed-bank#42137847 It appear CBN have quietly targeted Nigeria Banking customers, when they want to spend their money... Now each time you shop or initiate any debit transaction, please budget for an extra N1.00 for every N1,000.00 spent...e.g. if you spend N100,000.00; CBN will now force you to give up another N100.00 .... In fact, since most people spend almost 100% of their salary each month, budget about 0.1% of your salary that goes to debit transactions for the government. I just got this from my bank..... Please Mod, this na front page material....!

GFUBY:I don't think the lawyer impersonated anyone, he has been using his actual name practice throughout the proceeding and have represented him in previous appearances and Kanu have seen him, in fact he wanted to address his bail application that day. I think what happened is, Kanu wants a change of council for some reasons and decide to use impersonation as a ploy. He have the right to change council anytime, but it is up to the judge to accept or reject it and most likely, he was not counting on the lawyer to withdraw easily, so claiming the lawyer is an impersonator was also a preemptive strike against the lawyer in order to speed up his withdrawal. |
Ameboperoo:It is all the Operators under the auspices of their association that is threatening to shutdown business. |
In no 15, how do one come up with the weight of the boobs in order to accurately deduct it from their weight or is there a boob weighing machine now? |
petkoffDrake:Most originals have lost their lustra and become a caricature of their old self, due to either age, too much use, missuse and many time as a result of lack of maintenance or due diligence on the part of the owner. Believe me, the company are on the money here; the ladies that use it, will get enough ROI. There are enough misguided guys around to be hooked up and before you know it, they will cough up enough money to make that investment profitable and the girl will be off to the next guy waiting on the wings to repeat the process all over again. Also, it is a confidence booster for some ladies, the same way fake hairs, fake boobs, fake nails, make ups, etc are. |
You have been dating for four year. You both lives in different countries. He is jobless. He sleeps during the day. So, how many strikes do you need before dumping his ass? I aren't a magician, but believe me, what you are looking for in this guy. |
sickstars:Why do you choose to be this irritating? We have medical doctors, scientist, engineers, psychologists, etc on this forum that can render opinions and the OP is saying he might not see a specialist, the situation does not even call for that. And why would his girl be happy if she sees this? I usually tell people, "it is what it is", in fact in am in the girl's shoes and come across this, I will be very happy because, it means that, the OP is taking the issue very serious, seeking in depth information and knowledge and that any decision he will make will be based on sound knowledge and lots of afterthoughts after evaluating differs opinions. |
Hakagure:Edit your original post to include the word 'street' or to obtain a driver's vehicle tag under deception. I made a good faith effort to educate you on how vehicle works and it is not theory, that is the legal way to obtain it period! I have read your other response to someone else, who essentially backed my viewpoint and your response was that people use NJ address. I will agree that, some people do that; but the truth is, they do not do it simply because vehicle tags are cheaper in NJ, the price difference is about $50.00. I have to check my e-pass records now, but if my guess is right to cross any of the bridges/tunnels between NJ/NJ, it cost one nothing less that $25.00; it is the same penny wise pound foolish decisions that makes people to $25 tolls into NJ from NY just because gasses are a few cents cheaper in NJ. You also failed to mention that, that NY resident must also give up his/her NY license and obtain a NJ license before they will be able to obtain a NJ vehicle and that, it is illegal for a NY resident to have an out of state driver's license. If move into NY newly, you normally have 30 days to give up your out of state license and tags for NY's, otherwise you are a seating duck or targets for tickets, being pulled over, etc. Now, the only reason anyone living in NY will go through the stress to maintain a NJ driver's license and plates as against those of NY, may be because they stay in a shitty neighborhood in NY with astronomical insurance ratings, or their credits is shitty and either of those factors can shoot up their vehicle insurance bill and as such, they will ride on someone else insurance policy in NJ. People who do things like these, spoils it for everyone. New Jerseyans pay higher property taxes, sometimes 3x or 4x what NY property owners pay, thereby subsidizing other services that New Yorkers come over to leech on. |
Emekamex:Think macroeconomic and not microeconomic. |
doctokwus:Before I call someone 'fallacy', I must have hard evidence that, they are liars...she related a person experience as told first hand by her mother of their conversations, do you have a better insight |
niceprof:Victim of circumstance indeed, but he want to buy Toyotal camera for N250K, I begi, they are birds of the same feather. |
Olarajee:Not true, public universities are still among the best in Nigeria. |
oladele239:You are comparing apples with oranges, Twitter is not the same as Facebook and one can't replace the other; if you had said Mark Zuckerberg uses MySpace, then you will have a point. Also, AIT and NTA are different, most times they have different lineups and programming. |
obinna222:Nobody is saying it is a crime, he have the right to drive any type of car he wants to, but it is not good for his brand and does not instill confidence in his products. The CEO of Toyota drives an Audi, but that gave him a bad press especially during the Toyota accelerator's problem, the press hit him hard and insinuated that he is driving a better car unlike the Toyota 'death traps' he is manufacturing. http://jalopnik.com/5461311/toyota-ceo-apologizes-drives-away-in-black-audi Most people don't have the luxury of owing many cars, they buy one and drive it exclusively until they get rid of it and buy the next car; they to instill confidence, he should drive his brands exclusively as well. You can't walk you to me and start marketing Marlboro, and while you are telling me about all the wonderful features of Marlboro, you are puffing off smoke from the tail end of a Benson & Hedges cigaret. |
This is bad and not good for the brand. It might also mean that, the CEO is protective of his life and does not have full confidence in his fleets of cars, whatever it is; it does not instill confidence in the public. In any case, this pattern is not only restricted to innoson; Recently, Toyota had been having bad PR about their fault accelerator, and the CEO Akio Toyoda, drove an Audi to address the press and the press noted it and offcourse dig at him for driving a vehicle without accelerator's problem, which they call 'death trap' unlike other Toyota customers. http://jalopnik.com/5461311/toyota-ceo-apologizes-drives-away-in-black-audi |
yusaze:Why do you guys say 'see more photos here' when there are no more pictures in the link than already seen, when all you want is to drive traffic to your site? Tips: Next time, post only one photo/picture, them leave the rest on your website, then it will be worthwhile visiting your site; moreso it reduces your bounce rate, having no one visiting your website is better than someone visiting and immediately clicking away as the later will increase your bounce rate and a penalty from search engines and reduces your SEO rating, as it will be seen as false advertising, since if someone visits your site from a link, they must have found something interesting they want to research further or know about, but if they immediately click away from your site, after visiting it, search engines especially google will take it that, your site did not contain the content it was advertising in the link and you will get penalized. |
viviangist3:I was about asking, if they were masquerades as well, because they look very much like one. |
OP, you forgot to add a caveat at the end that, that there is the likelihood that, that beautiful woman maybe an ogbanje as in mammy water...not all that glitters are gold, nuff said. |
DelGardo:Nigeria does not have the international cloth to artificially hold the value of Naira and at the same time attract investments. Also, keeping a two tier currency exchange is the worst policy, where only the exclusive rich have access to the juicy rate to make them richer as government subsidizes that rate, and the rest of us and the masses are again left with the worst rate making it nearly difficult to export anything and God crying out loud, if you Nigeria to start producing stuff, make is economically viable for them to export same. Lastly, like you must have learned in secondary school economy class, the forces of demand and supply set prices in a free market and not some government policy. Naira will not continue to slide if left to the demand/supply, there is always an equilibrium point that, it will start attracting investors. In fact, US too the opposite approach and devalued their currency for almost 7 years from the start of the current recession. At a point the Canadian dollar was stronger that the US dollar and the Euro was almost twice in value compare to the dollar...now the Canadian dollar is half as valuable as the US dollar and euro is trading at per with the US dollar. Yes, there were pains when the dollar was made cheap, but it was done to attract investors, once investors were fully confident and fully invested, the currency was inflated and they are now happy and reaping the benefit of the risks they took. By artificially holding the price of the naira, the government hopes that, they can hold out longer for Nigeria to improve again. Am sorry, nothing is attractive again, the oil have lost its lustral, I hear people shouting 'Agriculture! Agriculture!! Agriculture!!!' as the answer, as much as we must start investing in agriculture, we should understand that, it is not a miracle pile...it will take time to ramp up output to international commercial standards and that too needs mechanism farming, which is lacking in most of Nigeria, where manual labor is the bane of the trade. Also, after getting outputs to international levels, you have to start negotiating and looking buyers and signing deals...yes, it will happen one day, but because we have neglected Agriculture for so long, it will not be readily available as a cushion. |
try giving him some of your make-ups; chances are, he might just start looking pretty (abi handson) like you. |
omenka:A better rephrase is, 'the third most influencer person in the us' and that comes with a lot of maybes. The third most powerful person in the US, is the speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. |
Hakagure:pure nonsense, how costly is a tag in NY? Chances are, it is at par with what it cost in NJ, plus you do not just cross state lines to get vehicle tags. By law, you can only possess the driver's license of one state at a time, if you move between states you have certain period of time to give up the prior state license for the new state's and you can only get a vehicle tag from the state you are licensed. E.g. If I live in NY and have NY driver's license, I can only get NY plates. The only exception is, for a company that is registered in multiple states e.g. car rental services, then they can get tags from multiple states. Even individuals who have houses in multiple states can only get tag from one state concurrently, since they can only get a driver license from one state, the difference is, they can choose which state they want to get the tag from. Another way around this is for the individual to be incorporated and register the cars under his/her incorporation, then they can get tags from multiple states at the same time, but this option is not practicable for the person typified in your response, since, if we're possible, they would prefer a tag in NJ just to save less than $100 for a two year period. |
Atmmachine:Trying to understand your point, that is a limo, you can rent a NJ or in fact any state tagged limo in NYC and the reverse is also true. Plus NJ & NYC are neighbors; a five minutes walk or a 2 minutes drive across GWB will get one from NJ to NYC and vice versa. |
OP, you can lie oh! First of all, there are Nigerian graduates leaving in Nigeria today, using each and every single of those jobs you mentioned to feed their families and putting a roof over their heads. Secondly, no Nigerian Professor does security guard in the U.S. There are numerous lecturing, Teaching Assistance and various non academic positions littered across colleges in the U.S. for which they can get accepted. |
karbridals:In addition to this, do not ignore your sister's opinion as it is very important, tell her that this is the person you want to marry and that you love her but you are going to respect her opinion, because she is your sister. Also talk to your gf, and tell her the same thing; that you love her, but she should understand that peace must reign, then ask both of them to discuss it among themselves and settle the issue. Do not put pressure on your sister, explain to her that, you understand that every one have a past even herself and you are aware of your gf past now, but you will want them to resolve the issue, and that she should put emotions apart and look at the issue objectively. If it it me, if my sister comes back and tell me that, in all good conscience, she will not agree to the marry and objectively state her reasons and her reasons are very valid, I will not go ahead with the marriage. |
Chukzyfcb:You are wrong when you compare nations to companies that engages in endeavor just to make profit. There are are far reaching objectives that make countries to render some services and goods and making profit is the lest of their worries. Amtrak is the largest train service in the entire United States, but except for the North East corridor, Amtrak returns record looses each year, but the government subsidies their operations that is essential for the survival of the US economy, which is alternative to mass movement of people and goods. Note that, it is not economically viable for Nigeria to extract just enough oil to satisfy local consumption, because the proceeds from those local sales will not sustain the cost involved. It is like building a filling station to servers a whole city but later convert it to supply fuel just enough for one car's need, unless off course Nigerians want to start paying astronomical price for fuel, and other oil based products to the tune of writing of cost of production |
Omotaday:Yes, US produces and exports oil; and US is not a member of OPEC. As at 2016, OPEC only have 13 member states and in total, they made of about 40% of global oil production. The other 60% of global oil producing/exporting states does not belong to OPEC, do not be deceived by the name OPEC, as it supposes that all Petroleum Exporting Countries are members, which is not true. Same with NUT - National Union of Teachers, not all teachers in Nigeria are in that Union. |
petkruz:my sister shine your eyes, there is nothing permanent about that site, if you doubt it, ask those who have gone before you. |
omenka:Of what use is one's huge savings account, when his/her family is starving to death? Our problem is corruption and mismanagement. |
Chukzyfcb:Most government policies are implemented not to turn profit, majority of them are done to keep the economy going and to maintain peace and order e.g. The Nigeria Police does not turn profit for the federal government, but it is a necessary institution to maintain order in the larger society. If the government stop producing oil because, it no longer can turn profit, imagine thousands of people who will be jobless and the cascading effects to the larger society. Imagine the decay that will start taking hold in all oil infrastructures around the country, which will cost more, should we try to restart their use in the future. Imagine the amount of money that will be sucked out the economy and society. Also if we stop producing oil, what happen to the array of oil derivative products that our daily lives have come to unconsciously depend upon with no sustainable alternatives? I can go on and on, but I believe that, you get the drift. |
Omotaday:OPEC is a voluntary organization, just like the rotary club in any University in Nigeria and currently have only 12 member states, so there are many other oil producing countries that are not members of OPEC. |
mazeltov:US is not an OPEC member, so OPEC can sanction them, there are only 12 OPEC member states. Plus, even if US were a member, OPEC wouldn't still be able to sanction them period! Look at every global body body that the US belong to e.g. UN, NATO, World Bank, etc; US policy dominates all of them, the same would had happen to OPEC if US were a member. Also, artificially controlling demands in order to hike prices does not work in a global economy, ask the CBN Govornoe that is now essentially rolling back all his restrictions on the dollar. People will simply go else where, if OPEC restrict supplies other oil producing states other of OPEC will ramp up supply in other to take in the extra Forex and OPEC will loose long time buyers to the competition. |
