anonimi:There is already a precedence on this case and it is: Amaechi vs. INEC. In relaying on Section 221 of the 1999 Constitution, the supreme justices concluded that, votes cast are for the party and not the candidate. And as such, if a candidate dies, the party for whom the vote were cat can elect another eligible candidate to assume those votes and contrary to the Honorable Governor, those votes are not invalid. Though, one do not like this conclusion, but it is the law of the land; it gives the political parties too much power. |
Nigeria attending a global climate change meeting is like an ajakpako, attending a meeting to protest the ever increasing price of powdered milk. |
Who Etim Esin is referred to as the 'Africa Maradonna', what shall we call JJ? |
The obvious question is, how old are you? If you can save up to N25k and made up to N350/day at one time, then you can afford to live by yourself. |
Sashafm:I was just trying to be of help, maybe I came too hard on you, kpele. I wanted to quote your own words....I guess you will like this better: "Your grammar must have been a (or the) contributing factor....you didn't 'lost' any job, because you never had any to begin with...Honestly, you will agree that, that little mistake change the whole context of your story, I clicked on the link thinking, someone got fired from two jobs on the same day. An interviewer can detect little things like these, we take for granted and they might be the difference between employment and unemployment. |
Your grammar must have been a (or the) contributing factor....you didn't lost any job, because you never had any to begin with... Change your topic to..."How I didn't get two jobs...." Or "How I squandered two job opportunities" |
OP, taking your eyes off the road and taking pictures, while driving is equally dangerous. Please, check this habit, so you can cease to be a danger to yourself and to other road users. |
This is terrible and a shameful depiction of the Nigeria state, when a job that pays $6,500/annually is celebrated as 'mouth watering offer'. This begs the question; what qualifies for a mediocre salary in Nigeria these days? |
tell her you have AIDS. |
obailala:I do not feel pity for MTN, it was a business decision on their part. They knew going in, that the fine for not disconnecting unregistered subscribers was $1000/per subscriber, they deliberately kept those subscribers connected, so they can continue to generate revenues from them. They felt, they could get away with it and chances are, had it been GEJ was still the President, NCC might have let it slip and that was MTN's calculation...but with the new President and his proclamation against corruption and NCC not have felt the President very well to know his directions and to also curry favor from the President by doing some..."notice us Mr. President, we are working too, helping to generate money plus enforcing the letter of the law here"..lay down the law. NCC motivation might be wrong, but the end result was perfect...NCC didn't sneak up on MTN and bent the rule. We can all argue that, the fines are too high, which is a valid conversation, but you cannot commit an offense and at sentencing argue with the Judge that, your sentencing is too hash, when the Judge is merely prescribing what is written in the law book as punishment for your offense. At the end of the day, MTN should accept their fault and negotiate the fine down and NCC should also negotiate in good faith with a view to lowering it...MTN made a lot of 'illegal profits' during their non compliance period, so they have some ill accrued money with which to begin the payment. |
OP, you said..."one person was killed...", I can count at least 5 lifeless bodies.. |
This movie go sweet die, waiting for part two... There is no way in hell this will happen i.e. one individual passing for two different people from 300L to 500L without been detected. Even if you have a deal with the course adviser, what about the individual lecturers? They will surely notice the absent of the other individual, you didn't tell how you did your final year project and that of the other individual. Who supervised your final year project and that of the other person? Don't tell us that, it was the course adviser....How did you defend your project and that of the other person? Most if not all schools have a form of clearance that final year student must go through around graduation time. |
Maybe we should go back to that method, the value of naira carry weight that time, compared to now. |
midolian:You don't know much about his background or if he even have a place to go to in Nigeria, if deported. Plus, he was brain washed to think the worst will happen to him, if he dare speaks up. There are thousands of people in that condition today in the developed world. The above not withstanding, there are many kidding Nigeria today, who will not mind switching places with this kid-turned-man just for a daily meal and a shelter over their head. This tells you the sorry state of Nigeria and it has come to the extend that, some have reduced their life aspiration to food, shelter and existence. |
musicwriter:I do not know any Nigerian Dr. or Professor, who have not published at least one or two articles in international journals. Most Doctors have multiple publications, google the name of any Nigerian Doctor and you will see their numerous publications... Also, if you present a solution, it can easily be verified...even by the people who do not know the solution, it will fit the Riemann function and mets the Riemann thetha.. As at now Dr. Enouch just claimed that he have a solution, he has refused to publish the solution or disclose it...He is a Doctor, before getting his doctorate, he must have published lots of paper and the only way for others to verify his claims, is for him to publish it...otherwise, it is a mere propaganda and a means to scam the masses. http://gizmodo.com/sorry-the-riemann-hypothesis-has-almost-certainly-not-1743014788 |
musicwriter:Agreed, there are some of Whiteman's skepticism towards the black, but it is not at rampart or main stream as you are portraying it to be. And, it is not unique to the Whiteman, as an Isokoman, I will believe my fellow Isokoman before believing an Igboman...we do it on a daily basis..GEJ eomployed mostly people from his State for his inner circus position, the same was applicable to Buhari....this is a human problem. Charity begins at home, Dr. Abalaka was rejected by the Nigeria Government, he was rejected by his own, i.e. black people and not the Whiteman. We do not need the whiteman to validate our successes...If Dr. Abalaka had the true cure and had the Nigerian Government given him the chance, the whole world will turn Nigeria to mecca, they will all travel to Nigeria for the cure, including the white, brown or Red; they will not mind if the cure is through a blackman. Like I have said prior, If Dr. Enouch have a proposed solution, he is going about it the wrong way; going to the media house or online blogs is not the correct way and he is not required to submit his prove to the Clay Institute....He is a Dr., he knows what to do, he should publish his solution in an international renowned mathematics journal as required by the Clay Institute and his peers around the world will have two years to critique/collaborate his proposed solution. The Clay institute will not do anything or look into the solution until after two years from date of publication, this will give the international community of mathematicians to vet his proposed solution. There have been many people in the past that, have trumpeted their proposed solution to the world only for those solutions to fall short of the smell test. Also, he is putting himself at a great disadvantage by going to the news media before publishing it and if he has published it, he would have cited the publication and journal instead of saying..."I have the solution". |
musicwriter:That is the problem, he should have publish it first, thereby preserving his priority before telling any living soul. Million of people had been seeking solution to one of the several Clay Institute questions in other to cash in on the huge pay out, opening your mouth before preserving your priority gives others a hints and if they beats you to publication even dubbing your solution, you lose out. |
musicwriter:I don't know why we always defaults to these types positions...black people have made headway in science, medicine, art, etc and they are recognized worldwide because of their contributions, even by the Whiteman. There is nothing to suggestion that, Dr. Enoch is been snubbed because he is black...there is a rigorous vetting process put in place for potential solutions for one of the millennial questions and the person does not even have to submitted their solutions to the Clay Institute. They are required to piblish their solution in an international reputable mathematics magazine, where it will remain for at least two years and where other world wide mathematicians, will critique, vet or collaborate the solution openly; so it is an open vetting process that will last for two years...after the two years period, the Clay Institute will form a three panel board to look at the proposed solution and other critiques/collaborating publications and then make a decision. Mathematics is straight forward, there is no way to cheat and the publication date gives periority to each author, so there is no conspiracy here. Also, somethings when we do not follow the rules, we harm ourselves...CNN or BBC or Social media is not the right place to air this discovery; you keep it secret until it is published in a mathematical journal...online social media or news organizations cannot vet your solution and by going to them, you give others who have been seeking for this solution for decades to beat you to publishing it and at the end of the day, if we loss out, we will start blaming the Whiteman instead of ourselves. |
Boy101:Go back and read the BBC article again, they did not confirm anything...BBC said, the professor 'claimed' to have solved the problem, and they went further to state that, if that is true, he 'stands a chance to win $1m'...those are not confirming statements. Many math professors and guru over the years have claimed to have solved one of the clay's million dollar questions and each of them fail short after vetting. Dr. Enoch submitted a paper, it has not been confirmed if he solved this problem, more so, this problem is still listed as 'unsolved'. |
In that a Residential house that ppl live in or it is a farm house? The type that is usually built in the forest, where you go for relaxation from the heat of the sun and some food after a hard day at work. |
What matters in life and a great determinate of our success in life is not the 'actions' towards us or things that happens to us, it is our reactions that matters. Your friendly is displaying a quality that will come back to hurt him badly in future. He is motivated by success, pass, positives, ups; but that is an utopia view of life that does not exist anywhere. True life is packed full with failures, negatives, downs, to a greater existend, it is our reactions to these life disappointments, failures, downs that makes us who we are, they help us build characters and life worthy lessons... The bitter truth is, most times, we do not learn from our success, we celebrate success and enjoy their their euphoria moments...failures makes us to pulse and to challenge ourselves and our assumptions, failures reinvent us, they test our true authenticity. Show me a successful man or woman, then I will show you a man/woman who has mastered the skills for dealing with failures and disappointments. When confronted about his numerous and countless failures in an attempt to discover the light filament, Thomas Edison said...."I have not failed, I have just found 1000 ways that won't work"...Your friend has just found out that 3rd class does not always lead to failure, the big question is, how is he going to react? Thomas Edison reacted by experimenting with other ways and thanks to his persistence, we can flip a switch in our house today and the light will come up... |

bxcode:There is not to indicate that, there was a mistake; it appear that, there is something the Boss knew that the OP is not privy to, hence the adjustment to the design to increase the circulation space. More so, the OP admitted that he was not the one given the details of the assignment, it was given to a senior colleague who rely them to him and who must have mixed vital design input and the Boss is in no position to repeat himself. I do not see any belittling or disrespect on the part of the Boss, rather the OP appear to be pompous and felt he knows it well and he definitely has mixed a learning session. If I were the OP, instead of challenging his Boss in front of his other colleague, he would have turned it to a question like..."Sir, my circulation space design was using the usual standards we are used to, was there an exception in this situation"? If the Boss had made mistake, he will catch and correct it, which I should be the objective of the OP and he will be given credit for pointing out that error, but if it was not an error as it appear to be in this case, the Boss will be more than willing to explain the exceptions to him. |
3rdlegxxx:It was Kongi, was of the ladies rat him out and it was rumored that, he does not put on him charm when copulating with ladies and that voids their potency, but since Kongi na bastered, the guy must release, not knowing that one of his inner ladies has been bought over by the government. |
PietroRico:I was living in Isoko then far away from Benin City, but the fear of Anini was the beginning of wisdom...there were many tales about him, my personal favorite is that, when he rob and escapes in motorbike, he spins the bike around and disappear into the thin air without a trace and in your presence. He was also rumored to appear in multiple places, that he could finish a robbery in Benin City and while they are looking for him, he will appear in Warri to execute another within minutes. When we discuss his exploits those days as kids, we do that is hush tones, because we were appraid he will appear. It was also rumored that his charm was potent and that he was only arrested because he was with woman and that, one of the conditions of his charm was that, he cannot put them on will cop playing with women, else they will be rendered worthless, hence he could not disappear when the policy arrested him, because he was not putting on his charms, there was also rumors that, knowing this weakness, it was one of the ladies who sold him out and told on their lodging place. |
Etizz:Your statement while true for some, but it's wrong of you to generalize it and conclude that all guys will behave the same way. We are of different temperaments and do not behave the same way under similar conditions. Even just in the bible had a reason to develop cold feet about his marriage to Mary until an angel have to intercede. In Joseph's case, the sticking point was Mary's pregnancy, to some today, it might be sething else and there are some today who will not develop a cold feet even if their fiancée is pregnant for another. |
Quit your insecurities, believe me; marriage is overrated, 95% of couples at one time or another feel they should not have gotten married to their partner for one reason or another...Adam even complained to God about the woman that God gave him. Whoever you eventually marry her or someone else, there will be something you will not like about them. At the end of the day, you have to work on your marriage everyday, it is what you made of it. There are no perfect couples out there or the perfect mate. We will all age at certain point, even if you marry a younger looking lady, what happens when that, beauty which was her main selling point starts to fade away? You said, you guys are mates; meaning she is old compare to you, also remember that you will also age and might even age faster than her, plus in this day and age, there are many beauty products out there that can bring the Lustra out of anyone. |
Waiting for the summarized version before commenting... |
Amaso99:That I a not an Igbo accent, anyone can claim to be Chijioke or whatever...that audio clip was staged just for it's rating effects, the radio presented and the so-called Pastor are in on it. The name of the church is dead give away, that it is fake. We all know that, their are fake and immoral Pastors out there who take advantage of less informed ladies, but none of them blatantly advertised and named their church after the crime they commit behind closed doors. |
Going by some of the topics you have authored, it appear you have a more larger problem of self worth and self esteem and these has nothing to do with your external appearance, since they are internal....these are some of your other topics: 1. Rate my profile picture from one to ten. 2. Do you feel ugly? 3. My coworker bothers me at work. 4. Have you ever been called Ugly? 5. Why would a guy call you ugly? 6. Ladies, do you think this guy is good lucking? 7. My coworker said I look like the devil. 8. Do I look Indian? 9. Why do people tell me I'm beautiful/pretty but I don't think I am? 10. Are I considered to be light skinned or dark skinned? 11. Do guys stare at girls they think are ugly? I can go on and on, your topic, reveal a troubling pattern, go and seek some real help. |
[s] blackpanda:[/s] Confirmed Olodo! There must be at least 36 federal ministries or federal department and all 36 ministers must be appointed to a federal ministry or federal department...constitutionally the President can not decide not to assign portfolio to any of the 36 ministers, they must all have a portfolio, else the President is in violation of the constitution. Prior Presidents had the same issue, they had to assign the remaining ministers to federal departments or create two ministries under the same federal department e.g. Under Jonathan, Olusegun Aganga of Edo State was Minister of Finance while, Aderemi Babalola of Oyo state was Minister of State for Finance, you will notice the same pattern as well under Obasanjo and Yar'Adua. So, other Presidents faced the same problem and had to make things work out without violating the constitution by denying some Ministers a federal portfolio as Buhari has stated he will do. |
