RomanceRe: Engagement: How Do I Ask Her Of Her Ring Size??? by linearity: 6:06am On Jan 17, 2016
Don't use friends or anyone she knows, ladies knows that is the way most guys do it, so she will decode and you are not sure if her friend's mannerisms towards her thereafter will not give it away.

Use a total stranger, go to the mall with her; then leave her somewhere under the guise that you forgot something, turn the corner where she can't see you and hitch the plan with any guy you see, 4 of 5 guys who are not in a hurry will help you. Tell the guy that he should pretent that he is buying a promise ring for his gf.

Once the plan is in place, go meet your gf and continue walking, it will help if you plan this towards the jewelry store, the guy will go ahead and pretent as if, he is looking for a ring and on sighting you guys, he will approach for help and say your gf finger is almost the same size as that of his, persuade your gf to help the poor guy to try the ring on, make sure the jewelry call the size of the rings as they are fitted on, once done you can both go your way.

Depending on the type of guy, you may want to pay them ahead of time.

Your gf will not read any meaning to this, compare to if the person is known to her and will forget the stranger in a flash.

Or prearrange the stuff with a male friend of a friend' friend that she did not know...i.e. Tell a friend to tell his friend to tell his friend that..., you get the drift now.

And that's why I stated "new purchases".

But since you want to address using a credit card as a personal loan then we should add that cash withdrawals incur a higher interest rate than purchases, in most cases.
True talk, it also be mentioned that, using credit cards as personal loan facility is a bad bad idea. That is when the banks gets you, talk to your banker, since you qualified for credit cards, chances are you may also qualify for a personal line of credit or a signature loan, their interest rates are far lower than the cash advance through your credit card.

Maybe a typo but you DON'T pay interest during grace period on new purchase.

If you buy on credit and pay off the balance within that 20 - 25 day grace period then no interest is charged.
Yes oh, na typo; interest is not charged during grace period. Thanks.

Mastercard, Visa, American Express..
Mastercard, Visa, American Express, etc do not issue the credit cards, they only act as intermediaries aka middlemen between the various banks or financial institutions that issues these cards and the vendor or merchants that accepts the cards for payments.

You will when you live legally in countries that offer it
It will be hard to live in countries like the US that uses the credit rating system...the system establishes trust and score individuals base on their trust levels. You can’t rent a car with your debit card or huge pile of cash, but with a credit card, you are in and out within minutes. You can't buy a house without credit, even if you have the cash in your bank to do it, you want to refresh from doing it, because any cash or check transaction of $10k and above is reported to the FBI by law, so they will dwell on your case and satisfy themselves that it is not illegal money and that you are not laundering money, also make such your taxes are up to day; too many wahala with it that, people just opt for the credit card and establish a disciplined pattern of paying it off each time.

The idea is simple, the car rental place, or the next bank or business believes that if a prior bank trust you enough to give you a credit card, then they too can trust you and will give you a credit or believe that you will return their card...and the more banks and institutions that trust you, the better and old trust relationships are valued higher than new ones, that is why you do not want to close that old credit card account simply because you do not need it.

Most of us already know the difference between these two cards, but so many people are still ignorant of it. So today we will briefly discuss on the difference between a credit card and a debit card.

CREDIT CARD: These kind of cards are not connected/linked with your bank accounts. In other words, your bank accounts are not charged when transactions are carried out with your credit card. Rather, all charges incurred are paid by your card issuer.
Note, incurred charges during the transactions will be paid back by you to your card issuer within a stipulated period of time with little interest rate. The interest rate attached to your bills tend to increase when you don't pay up your bill within the stipulated time. Limits on spending are set on your card depending on your trustworthiness.
Also note that these kind of cards are very difficult to get because there must be substantial proof that you will be able to pay any incurred debt during your use of the card. So in my own words i call these kinds of cards "CASHLESS LOAN"

DEBIT CARD: Debit cards are kind of the opposite of credit cards. These cards are connected/linked to your bank accounts. Any transaction carried out with this card is charged directly from the funds in your bank account. Every account holder is eligible for a debit card. There are no interest rate attached to your transactions when you use your debit card.

Like i said this will be a very brief discussion. And i hope you can now differentiate between the two.

Source: http://www.bankings.net/2016/01/the-difference-between-credit-card-and.html
Not quite, you also open a bank account for your credit card, but it is a credit account with a limit and for debit cards, you open a debit account with your cash balance + (over draft protection, if applicable) as your limit.

Also, you do pay interest on credit transactions, if you pay off your balance within the grace period, which is usually 25 or 30 days after your statement closing date.

One of the big major difference is, you have more protection from credit cards compare to debit cards when it comes to fraud, if I don't recognize a transaction on my credit card statement, a single 2 minutes call deletes that transaction and I will be made whole immediate, for debit transactions, though one might get their money back (with some limit), but it will take time.

Not true, if am deny a job or discriminated against e.g. in America due to racism, I can seek redress, not so much if the same happens in Nigeria due to tribalism.

Though in line with racism, your skin color will put a target so to say on you in regard to negativities...eg the police with stop yo or harass you 5times before they harass the next person. If you are in a crowd with friends and catching fun and something goes wrong, be prepare to answer the harshest scrutiny.

This guy is wasting time tweeting back and fort. If the transaction was carried out in the US, take him to small claims court and get your money. Trust me you won't spend a dim in the process. Next time, he will know that US is not Nigeria where you owe people and form tiger. Although I have not heard the other side, but this sounds like someone trying to take advantage because it was only a verbal agreement and no documentation. That's not withstanding, a judge will determine from the evidence you will provide.
Yes, small claims court will set this straight, even if there is no written contract, verbal contract is as legit and can be enforced just like a documented contract.

From the post from Jim, it appear there was an agreement for service, but Jim seem to think that, service was not rendered correctly or fully. If that is the case, the guy have a leg up against Jim in small claims court as any judge will do a rough estimate and adjust the amount owned in proportion to service render.

It bets me that Jim is threatening the guy with a libel suit, Jim should not waste his time. The fact that, there is no contract papers does not means a win in libel, you can only win in libel, if 1. You can proof that, the other person told lies against you...2. If you can then proof financial lost that is directly attributed to that/those lies...in this case, it does not appear the guy is telling lies base on Jim's own admission; yes there is a genuine dispute regarding services render and you cannot win a libel suit against someone by accusing them of lying because they say, they rendered services A,B,C & D and you can proof that, they only rendered services A & B.

By the way filing small claims is very easy, and if you not want to be bordered by the small claims, sell the debt to someone in the U.S. and they will go after Jim.

I don't think the guy is dumb or that he didn't understand the difference between 'apply for job upon graduation' and 'promise for a job upon graduation'.

The guy must have been looking for job with no luck or have seen the bleak prospects out there and he is now been forced to grap low hanging fruits, he is just been desperate and you never know, he might just shame GTbank into giving him a job.

He should be commended, it is okay to do anything legal to get a job, even stretching people's utterances or abscribing new meanings to what people had said in the past, it is sorely up to GTbank to see if they will reward this guys desperation.

I disagree
In car owner's manual of cars with manual transmission , manufacturers advise owner to engage gear 1 when parked.
Reason modern cars with manual transmission don't start unless you clutch down cos they believe the gear should be engaged when parked.
Unless you want to tell me you know more than the manufacturers.
There is no such advise in manual cars owners manual, do you care to cite a reference? I will recant and render apologies, if you do and it will be a learning moment for me.

This debate had been circulating on the Internet for ages and every suggestions had been opinion based.

Some want to engage the gear to provide staying torque for the parked car especially if the car is old and the hand breaks can't do the job alone, others felt it is not necessary as the disadvantages out weighes the advantages, especially if the car is a new one because the car will be essentially resting on the gear box, that is why when you go the next morning, step on your clutch and remove the car from gear one to neutral, most cars move forward slightly, telling that all those weight had been on your car through the night.
CareerRe: Computer Enginnering Or Computer Science by linearity: 10:53pm On Jan 04, 2016
Go with computer engineering. Computer science deals with programming, statistics and algorithm.

Computer engineering deals with the application of these programming, statistic and algorithms in embedded systems, IOT - Internet of things, electronics, etc in a way to make them useful to mankind.

Which means, a computer science outputs are inputs into computer engineering and you also get to learn programming and algorithm as a computer engineering student, which means you get the good side of computer science and also be able to apply them into engineering, which the science student do not have.

The truth is, you will not miss anything on the computer science end, and the computer scientist will wish he was the one that turned his/her finished codes and algorithms into engineering applications that revolutionized the way we do things today.

At the end though, the bridge are narrow as in high end research laboratories, there are little difference between both as the engineer codes are proficient as the programmer and the computer scientist have some Noval applications and designs that you would have bet was done by an engineer.

Car TalkRe: Car Parking Position. Neutral Or On Gear? by linearity: 10:01pm On Jan 04, 2016
Why will you want to still be putting load on your gear system when the vehicle is at rest and parked?

The gear will now be carrying load the load of your entire car, overtime this will adversely affect the gear system, put the car in neutral and engage the hand break if you need torque against any unanticipated motion.

Are they not all good in break dance??

Break dance | Heaven
Do they match?
Is there any semblance?
Do their combination sound right.

If your heart condemns you, the Bible says God is greater than your heart.
I agree that, one should not dance break dance in church, but not because it is sinful, but because it is inappropriate and will not suit the occasion, which is the worship of God or being joyous in his presence.

However, there are some form dances that are easily termed as 'wordly' which can be appropriate.

2 Sam 6:14
And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Suggest we can dance with rigor and emotions and it will still be appropriate in the presence of God.

From your own narratives, the fact that he stopped calling you, means he is not chasing after you either.

It appear you are naive, ladies who chose to air their financial difficulties before men, who they are not related to, faces the same situation you are facing more often than not. As the saying goes, men think with their head as in 'what is in it for me' i.e. They do all the computations in their head to determine the value-add, but ladies think with their heart as in 'it is beautiful thing to help this lady out'

The more you try your pic with men by disclosing your financial difficulties, the more you will encounter things like these. Even for some who will not ask for "favors" immediately, they see it as a pay-forward for some future favors, so my best policies is, do not ask for financial favors from people you barely know.
PhonesRe: One Reason Iphone Would Continue To Sell More Than Any Android Phone by linearity: 4:50pm On Jan 02, 2016
greenhulk:
Nice write up. Just to buttress ur points, Apple. Makes more money from mobile phone sales because their OS is closed. This is a good business move if u ask me, monotony is one of the things a businessman pays for. By keeping their OS closed they have succeeded in

1. Preventing other oems from diluting the performance of the iPhone. If apple ha made the OS open, some oems will come in, make cheaper iphones with lower specs just to entice customers. This is the same case with android. For example if an iPhone user wants to try his experience with android and unfortunately the android phone he got is the low end one, he's going to have a bad impression about android. Meanwhile if a mid range android user friendly an iPhone he will be amazed. IPhone is premium, there's no 2 way about it.

2. If u love ios, then u have to buy the iPhone, u don't have any other choice. So more money for Apple. Of course we give credit to apple for making ios so smooth and very easy to use. Ios is so optimized that a 1gb iPhone runs smoother than lots of 3gb ram androids. An 8mp iPhone shoots better photos than lots of 13mp android phoneS. If apple had decided to sell ios to other oems, then ios will have less value as some oems will fail to optimize or use substantial materials just to cut cost and sell their phones for cheap.
I don't think this is true though, yes keeping their OS closed gave them the advantage to control their brand and improve performance, but it also had the disadvantage of locking Apple out of a competitive market, but Apple had been able to weather that storm perfectly to their advantage so far. IBM tried the same thing with their computer bus when they first hit gold at the onset of the computer age...at that time, if you buy a computer from IBM, you are stuck with them for...because you will be forced to buy any future accessories from them eg memory, dusk, hard drive, cards, OS, etc...that resulted in a backlash because people want choice in the marketplace and that give birth to PCs and IBM computers became history.

It is very doubtful if Apple will maintain this monopoly and absolute lack of choice for his consumers for too long. The reason I say this is because, even prior protected technological monopolies are been threaten now...eg Routers, Swithes, Firewalls, etc enjoy great one-box one brand one-manufacturer once enjoy monopolies, but with the advent of SDN - Software Defined Network and NFV - Network Function Virtualization, Cisco's place as a Router dominated manufacturer is threaten, It means I will no longer have to depend on checkpoint or Cisco or juniper for my firewall or switch - I can just buy any cheap computer or pick one from my garage and by the miracle of software turn it to a robust personal or enterprise or carrier grade Router, Switch or Firewall....the beautify thing is I can get the software from multiple sources competiting for my business and if two months down the run, I do not like the Routers or Firewalls in my data center, I do not have to ripe them off, I negotiate a better deal with another competitor, backup my rules and on a Sunday night completely change everything on my devices.

Currently Apple shares are performing below par and almost all the rating agencies have downgraded their shares because of concerns about their future performance and market pressure. The truth is, I want Apple to succeed, because I own some of their shares, so it is more money in my pocket...but the truth is that company don try...they have beat every expectations and doubting thomas out there.

Finally, their are knockoff IOS and Apple phones out their and surprisely work and perform just fine for their cheap price and they have a huge following in the section of the population that cannot shell out ant N200,000.00 (what is the exchange rate again?) for a phone.

How can you love someone you know next to nothing about?

Bros, I think your head is play tricks on you...You only lusting after her or having infatuations about her, that is not love.

Infatuation is the state of being completely lost in the emotion of unreasonable desires and it is characterized by urgency, intensity, sexual desire, anxiety, high risk choices, reckless abandonment, etc and it happens instantly quickly peaks once it gets it's object of infatuation and dwindles thereafter.

Love is an intense feeling of deep affection and it is characterized by faithfulness, loyalty, confidence, willingness to make sacrifices, contentment, partnership, etc and it happens over time and grows.

I don't think the problem is that guys do not want virgins, it is more deeper than that. Personally, it is far better to date a virgin, then she remains a virgin until marriage, than to date one, then deflower her before marriage.

I will prefer an already deflowered lady compared to the second scenario above. This way no one is entering into marriage out of guilty or obligation or pressure and the other person will not feel that, they have been taken advantage of and dump.

The truth is, the real disadvantage with virginity is because, it is overhyped and that, the guy or husband should be grateful that his gf or wife is/was a virgin....honestly, as much as the guy will appreciate that, it does count for about 1% of the qualities needed for a good gf or wife and the ladies expect so much from the guy for been virgins...
