Enter Nigeria political Activities and Serial Nigeria haters:

This class of people lunched a blitzkrieg of attack against ordinary Nigerians, using social media as well as classic media. They challenged the nicely developing Western speculations on why the first research found Nigerians to be the happiest people in the world. Where Western speculations tended to receive the findings in positive terms even hopeful and revolutionary for humanity, Nigeria's political activist for selfish interest were hostile and condescending to ordinary Nigerians. They quickly shut down foreign liberal and progressive voices and began abusing Nigerians. They refuted any liberal or progressive notions that positioned Nigerians as part of the wider world, a people that may revive a forgotten human tradition of living within natural means etc and isolated Nigerians in the tradition of ignorant African brutes too stupid to see life in any other terms than the old Western notion of material wellbeing informed by capitalism. These Nigeria activities essentially left ordinary Nigerians feeling stupid for admitting that they were happy all things considered.

Ever since, Nigerians have responded to such surveys with politized eyes rather than gut honesty.

It has seemed to me Johnson has issues with Nigerians.

Track and Field is my favourite sports. I watch it avidly, especially BBC coverage. Johnson always seem to avoid saying anything positive about Nigerian athletes that make it through various qualifying rounds. His features always seemed to turn sour and he would talk through tight lips if he had finally to acknowledge a Nigerian athlete because that athlete did something special in a heat or made it to the final.

Colin Jackson was the only one that seem generous of spirit.

They'll soon press India into the matter. They'll send Amasun's samples to an Indian lab where they will of course find something in her samples. You can't then howl racism since Indians are supposedly ethnics too.

And our potential to dominate sports if only a smidgeon organized is also suspected.

That Nigerian running for Bahrain - what's her name again (google consult......) ah, Salwa Eid Naser, was in my opinion horribly treated. In spite of the nonsense about her change of national allegiance, a super star Salwa would have inspired young Nigerians more than it would have inspired young Bahrainis.

CNN and various Nigeria TV station carried the news. I saw the prison - supposedly a high security prison - and was left shocked. What shocked me was how such a place could prevent anyone with an iota of brain matter in their skulls from escaping if they wished.

Once upon a time, when Nigeria was under military rule and wasn't open to the rest of Africa and thire inferiority complex, a typical Nigerian would have stated that perhaps it isn't that Nigeria is too noisy but that where she comes from in Europe is too quite and dead.

Now that Nigeria is open and flooded by Africans from all over the continent, Nigerians are being influenced by the inferiority complex typical of the rest of Africa. He should have pointed out to these potential foreign investors a list of the number of foreigners that have invested in Nigeria and that run businesses in Nigeria. He should then tactfully challenge portential investors to point out the number of those investing in Nigeria whose challenges in Nigeria are security related rather than access to financing,government regulations and Policies etc...
