superior1:It will increase? I thought most armed robbers who operate using bikes use the same okada for public transport already. So where is the increase coming from? |
And then you wonder why the sectors he presided over (education and petroleum) are in such a mess. |
billyG:It is an individual thing and not gender dependent. For instance most men will pee in their pants if they found themselves in the situations some female spies during WW2 simply bluffed their ways out of, while remaining calm. |
I can't even believe anybody will agree to share a line with a neighbor. So how do you know the ACTUAL utilization of both parties since 50/50 is just overly simplistic? Or you think you, for example who has 2 A/Cs installed will utilize the same amount of power as somebody who has 6 A/Cs installed? Except of course you are the party with 6 A/Cs I doubt you will agree to this kind of arrangement. |
success4:Your command of English is too poor for me to tackle you appropriately. |
It's funny people actually believe Buhari entered into governance in 1984. You forget he rose through the ranks right from the era of Gowon. Before I go any further, can you please check who was Minister for Petroleum during the missing 2.8 Billion Naira saga? Also who served under the Abacha regime as head of PTF? For one, anybody who served under Abacha has to be a rogue. |
Orikinla:Oh come on. Lay her and ask for forgiveness from God later. |
Here is another MOG: http://revrowlandjidemacaulay..com/ Call him a fraud to your own detriment. Remember, touch not my anointed. He he. ![]() |
Quality Control Department in the China plants fvcking up apparently. Obvious battery issue. |
asha 80:Anyway you can see from my quote that even the proponent of the "confederation" suggestion (DS Abubukar) "Thanked GOD" that Gowon didn't buy the idea after he consulted with his puppeteers (the British); in hindsight he realizes how much LOOT they would have missed had a confederation been formed. Bunch of bandits. |
asha 80:A typical Nigerian has no clue but will say "are you sure about this". What do you think that means? If you don't know, "are you sure about this" means you doubt the veracity of my claims, and that you know it isn't true because you have better information. If you don't know, simply say you don't know or ask for my sources. |
asha 80:If you read widely, you will not be asking me this silly question. Even more sure, considering that the same Gowon did not understand what he earlier agreed to when he met Ojukwu and later reneged. He's a dunce. When Lt. DS Abubakar got to Ikeja, as reported in the Army's official history, Col. DS Abubakar (rtd) recalls that one of those who was most strident about separation was Lt. Nuhu Nathan who reportedly told Gowon:http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/nigeria_facts/MilitaryRule/Omoigui/NorthCounterCoup.htm |
Surely you are not saying that all states in Nigeria are unviable. Clearly some are, or at least would be if the FG were as small as it was in the 50s and early part of the 60s.
Clearly when states were created, "viability" or self-sufficiency was not a consideration. Even all the so called "Oil Producing States" could not be considered viable at that time as the "Oil Boom" came much afterwards. So the only reason the states were created was division. Laws were then put in place to make the center so strong and in control of all the resources of the country, and to be doled out using a "sharing formula". Is that what a federation is? I keep repeating this, but it's not surprising that Gowon came up with this strange interpretation of a federation. This was the same man who had to ask what a federation was after the counter-coup of 1967 when one of the planners of the coup made the suggestion. |
State creation was a good idea. But simply too many were created. And states were created for political reasons rather than merit. Gowon is mostly right on this, I think. That he says "it was taken too far" doesn't mean he thinks it shouldn't have been done at all.
And which of the states that were created then was self-sufficient like the regions? Was state creation not the beginning of the tradition of taking trips to the Federal Capital to collect "allocations"? So how was that a good idea? |
There's nothing to regret when you are as ignorant as Gowon. This was a man who didn't even know what a "federation" is. He had no clue what governance was about. And the ones that followed were no better; bunch of dunces. What concerns the military (especially a bunch of dummies) with governance? |
Then why don't they move to arrest him for economic sabotage? |
davidylan:Excuse you? I thought Jesus died at 33, and his ministry lasted for 3 years; meaning he was baptized at 30? |
@beneli, You are the only person who has actually set about defending the man in the proper way: Call the competence of the health workers into question and also the veracity of the report. Apart from that, no other line of defense works. |
publisher:I doubt my commonsense (one word) has less brain cells than I do. @baslone, You must think AK47s are free. And FYI hand-guns are usually used for self-defense not an unwieldly rifle. And even hand-guns are not cheap. Jobless people can't afford them. |
publisher:who the fvck are you? |
Quite honestly, there are just 2 things that make crimes in Nigeria different from the US: 1. A non-existent Police Force 2. Inability to defend yourself by carrying a weapon The law has to change so that I can legally carry a weapon. People have said this will lead to more murders, but they seem to forget that a person who intends to kill you does not need a gun. Before guns came along even cave-men committed murder using clubs. |
Only people who've mixed with African Americans and are TRYING to an extreme to act like them will do that. |
Ha ha. The mention of dry bones does make an old man nervous. Maybe there's another reason why the mention of "vagin.al odor" would make a woman nervous? |
The comments here are funny. In 2007 a man went to a movie theater at Randallstown, MD and got up during the movie brought out a gun and shot several people in the audience before killing himself. Interestingly I went to the SAME movie theater a few weeks afterwards. If I were to choose, I think I prefer the prospects of being robbed at gun-point than being shot without warning or provocation, in the back of the head by a psycho which often occurs in the US. |
It is when you have a non-existence Police Force that you begin to conceive this kind of silly scheme. Nothing can substitute for an efficient Police Force. Fashola should focus on effective policing. |
mbulela:It's obvious they were lent the money on the strength of their backers (politicians); and not any "projections". As pointed out they likely started having problems because their backer(s) were out of favor and therefore could not provide the required funds. Imagine if the backer(s) were in favor; they would have continued syphoning money from the government coffers to rescucitate the comatose horse. Moral of the story: if you need financing, don't bank on politicians. They are not "sure bankers". |
Ilekokonit, I don't see any politicians in your list. Generally speaking in the Entertainment/Arts sector (and other sectors requiring creativity) a little bit of mental illness may even be required for success. Anyway the Nigerian Constitution seems to have disqualified the man based on his health records; and Y'Ardua should've been disqualified too if anybody had the nerve to challenge his nomination. By the way the only US president to have shown signs of mental illness (depression) was Abraham Lincoln but his condition was mostly associated with the suffering he witnessed during the Civil War. I suspect that he would've been pressured to resign in our current dispensation (of information and well informed people). |
2buff:Again as already pointed, this has been reviewed several times with laws even put in place, but the "police" will never hear news of such laws. They only concern themselves with means to blackmail, intimidate and shake-down the general populace. The entire Police Force needs to be overhauled and broken up to smaller manageable units at the state level, by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. That is the answer to your question. |
2buff:As pointed out, it is the "police" that made it this way. This man was just lucky he was picked up by a good Samaritan who also turned out to be a celebrity. It is the "police" that you will go to after being robbed in the wee hours of the morning and will have you sit down for 3 hours to write a useless statement as the robbers make good their escape. |
Funkymallam:A mor0n like you does not realize that whether married or not, a man who accepts the children he fathers is not different from the one who marries their mothers. Monkey, ever heard of common-law wife? |
Parisgoodman:Is that why she's always wearing enough ROUGE especially being that dark skinned? |
doctokwus:You mean, it sounds weird to a self-centered coward? Of course! |
