ooshinibos:Are you Nostradamus? Are you a prophet? Is the present Nigeria governable? Have you not been reading the news? How much is fuel? How many times have they shifted deadline of ending Boko Hiram since PMB was inaugurated? What was PMB's BH campaign promise? How were the elections at Kogi and Bayelsa? How do you say a country where corporate behemoths like Guiness and Nestlé having to wait several weeks to receive dollars to transact business governable? Nigeria of December 7, 2015 is worse than Nigeria of May 7, 2015. Abeg who is the President? -Lord |
AfroBlue:GEJ did not leave an empty treasury. The treasury is what CBN is using to stabilize the official naira rate at N197 to N199while in the parallel market Naira is on free fall currently at N251. Plus an empty treasury will be the least of your worries when PMB and his henchmen would have mortgaged Nigeria to the Western economies for loans. He is already asking for $2t supplementary budget to be financed with a loan. 28 states are technically bankrupt, very soon he would start approving frivolous external loans for his cohorts like he has already done for Osho (N15b). At least, GEJ took loan to build rice mills, the same rice industry that PMB has practically destroyed by allowing importation of rice that was banned by GEJ. PMB and the ATM governors on the other hand will take loan to pay salaries and buy police helicopters that would be used to ferry APC dignitaries. No need to wait till 2019. Start carrying your head in shame. So that by then you would be planning on a creative way to kill yourself. |
arresa:When Obama gave GMB his personal campaign man to handle Buhari's campaign, you did not cry fowl. See, the fact is no one honored GMB after he left power as a military ruler. Paid or unpaid. I don't know why you are hell-bent on deriding the organization. When Okonjo received hers, your ilk were also pained. I'm not going to do your job for you. A forum member has shared the link to the organization, if you want to do detective work, be my guest. Don't come on NL and spout hate about a person that made Nigeria a #1 destination in Africa for FDI. A feat PMB has successfully trashed in under 8 months. I do hope you know it is easier to destroy than to create. When PMB has let the country fall to ground bottom, he would use the remaining of his tenure to try to get the economy to the point where GEJ met it. It would be wishful thinking to belive that PMB would do any better than GEJ economy-wise. A man who said he didn't know about subsidy only to send approval for payment of over N400b to the Senate for subsidy, certainly does not have the same pedigree as a man who turned Nigeria from a country with one moribund auto assembly plant to a country with over 6 current different auto plants with up to 21 brands registering interest. GMB is not Muhammad, corruption will remain howbeit reduced. The thing is that there will be no money to divert sef. |
AfroBlue:What is your point. The members of the organization are top-end diplomats from different countries of the world. Most major world organizations have high-end offices in Switzerland. UNICEF, WHO, IMF... The Geneva Convention is instrumental to the education and employment of your future wife (if you are not already married). You sit on your toilet seat somewhere in a forgotten region of a third world country and point fingers at a country doing her best for her people, like yours is doing any better. Look at your saint country Nigeria, tell me what you see? And before you blame GEJ, tell me what it looked like before GEJ? You should hold your head in shame. You would soon apologize to Nigeria for voting in PMB. That I assure you. -Lord |
Fizzbizzie:Were Nigerians employed and richer before GEJ became a President? Did he leave Nigeria worse off or better than he met it? Within 8 months, several hundreds of jobs have been lost. Several businesses have folded up, and we are on the brink of the most devastating recession to have ever hit the country. There were robberies, rapes, poverty before GEJ. There are robberies, rapes, poverty after GEJ. What is your point? -Lord |
arresa:Abacha was murderous and carted away several trillions of naira from the nation's coffers. Your messiah, PMB, said he didn't steal. What gives you or Buhari the moral justification to say GEJ is corrupt and Abacha is not? What about Tinubu, OBJ, Ameachi? Hypocrisy is corruption. Nepotism is corruption. Favoritism is corruption. From the look of things PMB's administration is also crooked and corrupt. -Lord |
UpLoyo:Buhari served in the cabinet of Abacha. We are still recovering the loot of Abacha. So, Buhari is part of the reason why your father couldn't get you decent education to discern economic and political issues fairly. Several decades from when Buhari left the military government, he did not set up a foundation or engage in any philanthropic activity to help the nation, rather the threatened a legitimate ruler recurrent lyk. GEJ just left less than 8 months ago, he has been called upon by International organizations to give his insight on how to better leadership in Africa. True, money were used for unintended purposes under GEJ, the same happened under every other government since 1960, the same will happen under Buhari. After all, we do not know where the phantom recovered funds are currently. However, under GEJ, we recorded the most free and fair election in the history of this country. See how APC has failed woefully in just two states within one year. A country growing at 6% has reduced to 3%. Buhari is not a saint and GEJ is not a devil. GEJ is a man with imperfections who did his best for the nation. A man who did not think his ambition was worth any life. From what has happened in Bayelsa, we can say the opposite is the case for APC and PMB. Your likes shouldn't have the effontery to make statements these days. Counsel PMB and APC not Nigerians. -Lord |
arresa:Must you run around in the marketplace with a corn seed stuck in your anus? In any case, I am yet to see an hater who is better than the person he or she is hating on. The world knows GEJ as an ex-president of Nigeria deserving of an accolade: Who the Bleep are you? What makes you think your opinion is relevant? Gerarahia mehn! You know wha' 'm say'n! -Lord |
If you think GEJ is going to jail for corruption related charges, you are delusional. GMB signed a peace Accord with GEJ. I admire the tenacity of PMB regarding corruption. However, you guys have to be realistic. The most that would happen is that a percentage of unused looted funds will be returned. -Lord |
The worrying fact about the drop is that the next OPEC meeting is in June, 2016. So we can pretty much assume that the price of oil will hover around current prices or fall further till mid next year. According to estimates, CBN can only maintain the static exchange rate for about 10 more months or there about. Bottom line is, unless oil prices increase significantly by some weird twist of fate, the official Naira rate will have fallen by a huge landslide by this time next year. And it ain't going to be funny because we are an import based economy. Regardless of party partisanship, let us really hope that the gamble by CBN/PMB pays off, cause if it doesn't, the country will fall into 2008/2009 Greece style recession. -Lord |
I am becoming averse to the idea of Capital punishments. The death penalty has no place in the neo-civilization man is building. Countries without the death penalty record the lowest crimes. Let's push for the gradual phase out of this barbaric practice in Nigeria. -Lord |
Finally, the campaign for a reduction in the fine made headway. Now, NCC should establish a firm deadline and MTN should start negotiating payment terms. There should not be any other reduction, lest other fined companies think Nigerian authorities do not have a firm stand. -Lord |
Bruce, you and your government need to come to terms with what Nigerians now know of PMB: He is UNRELIABLE and CONFUSED. In other news, I never knew that even foreigners can buy wailing forms. Abi na free na? If na free, uya APC lying-liars, come collect. *Offer valid while stock lasts. *Terms and Conditions apply. |
Wetin carry tribe enter this matter? Judas was also a disciple of Jesus and a Jew. In the end your vote is your choice. Even if you like vote KOWA party, that's your business. Don't try to sound like a Sage. Manage your change. Body never tell you. When body tell you, you sef go know. -Lord |
craziebone:That was civil. Glad you saw my point. And didn't take my lashing out too seriously. I don't claim that I have it all figured out, so I'm open to criticisms. Thanks for your time and do have a pleasant evening. -Lord |
craziebone:You attacked me when you mentioned my reply and indirectly called my opinion "bad". Then you played the selfishness card like you are Pope Francis or the Dalai Lama or something. You see, if I saw a thread that's anything like a debate between abortion and pro-choice, theism versus atheism, liberal versus conservative, I'll not join the discussion. The reason is simple, these are very contentious issues, and debating them will rarely if ever change any stand. But when someone asks for advice, I like to leave my opinion. And it beats me why certain dimwits will want to judgmental when all the OP asked for was an advice. That's why I'm sounding furious. There is absolutely no reason to convert a thread seeking real-time advice to a crusade arena. Go effing stick that sh*t in your religious retreats, camps, shiloh, conventions, and churches. Stop proselytizing where it is uncalled for. Yes, pro-choice means it is entirely one's choice to or not to have an abortion. It's her choice. You are NEVER a hypocrite. Are you for real? Never?! I'm willing to bet my kidney that you've been a hypocrite at least once in your life. Is it not the stuff that makes you religious bunch say you aren't perfect. Every time you use that term you just labeled yourself a hypocrite. |
craziebone:Every human is selfish. Deal with reality. You go to school, get a job, marry, divorce, make money, procreate because of you. Unless you are part of a religious order. So don't sit out there high and holy saying others are selfish and you're not. For the record, I gave her my candid advise. I am pro-choice. She can choose to keep the baby or not to. That's her choice to make. You don't know shit about her, you don't know shit about what she has gone through, you don't know shit about how she is going about her life, so you can't make decisions for her. Or even suggest that she shouldn't go ahead with abortion because you are not going to raise the kid, and you don't know nothing about what she is considering. It's a choice to be selfless. It's a fundamental human right to do what's best for you aka selfishness. Now if you got nothing to contribute other than to weild a gavel, then do so without quoting me. Your hypocritical bunch repulse me. -Lord |
I'm pro-choice. But the whole idea of ending a pregnancy because a bf lied irks me. She's been told she probably couldn't have a baby again, but by some strange luck she has now. But she doesn't want to keep it?! My advice is keep the baby, for the single reason that aborting may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I mean, if she can endure the discrimination that comes with getting pregnant before marriage, I'm sure she can manage the stereotype that comes with being a single mother. And something tells me if the guy was a celebrity she wouldn't be worrying about the stereotype... |
Nigerians are very funny. So what were you guys thinking, when you guys were voting Buhari? Them tie una eye ni? Abi una don forget how politics be for Naija, promise and fail. It's either the ratio of kids to adults in this country is 80:20, or you guys have very short memory. Anyways, make una calm down. It's still 4 years to go. Nigeria's marriage with Buhari is for better for worse. Price of oil will not change until around this time next year. Even when them pay the marketers finish, Boko haram still pin for North, money no dey to continue Power projects, money no dey to pay workers salary... Seriously it sucks to be Buhari now! But me no pity Nigerians at all. You guys deserve what's coming to you. -Lord |
Forwetinnah:I understand. I can't imagine the grief the family members of those who died during the Paris bombings and relatives of the over 30,000 that have been killed in Nigeria. However, hate is not the answer. If we keep hating Islam, the moderate Muslims will not see the reason to fight against Islamic terrorism. And we both know no amount of bombing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Syria will end the war on terror. The answer lies within Islam. Many Imams and moderate chiefs and Muslims have been killed by these extremists. The number may be very large because the media does not cover these killings and most people don't care. So we must understand that moderate Muslims face a risk. By respecting their beliefs and religion, we can convince the moderate Muslims to purge out extremism from within. I am unreligious. The muslim brother of one of the terrorists in the Paris attacks willfully handed himself over to the police to help with investigations. We remember Mutallab's father who contacted the authorities about possible radicalization of his son, months before the young man almost blew up a flight in transit. I would be proud to have these kind of Muslims as neighbors. These kind of Muslims are the potential solutions to the problem of Islamic terrorism. Them more than a US soldier can convince their extremist religious fellows to stop the incessant killing, or at least hamper the radicalization of Muslim youths. They are also at risk. We need more voices from within Islam to preach against Islamic terrorism. We can help by not hating on Islam. But by all means, if you have a constructive opinion on how they can help, you are welcome to share. |
kimond101:The rise of Islamophobia is not pegged on the activities of a extremist few that make up only 1% of the global Muslim population. The rise is because the 99% moderate Muslims have gone eerily quiet over the actions of the 1%. It is not enough to say "we do not support the killing". What the rest of the world wants to know is what are you guys doing to end it? Where are the Islamic debates to disown Jihad? Where the vocal groups to disown the extremists? Why is it that the Arab League will not put aside their differences with the West to confront the evil? Why do the supposedly "moderate" Muslims say one thing and act in a different way? Shiites kill Sunnis, Sunnis kill Shiites; have you heard about Protestants killing Catholics in the modern era, have you heard about Catholics killing Protestants in the modern era? What about Hindus versus Buddhists, any conflict that you know of? All religions have sects and groups. In time past, these sects may have warred against each other. But that time is past gone. Why are the Muslims still holding grudges or dragging other religions into it? The Catholics killed millions of Protestants in the Inquisition. They have apologized and everyone has moved on. The Germans killed 6 million Jews, they apologized and we have moved on. But the Sunnis and the Shiites and the other sects in Islam still weild their swords. I am not Islamophobic. There are just as many Christians who can be extremist, like the KKK who are pursue violence against colored people, and Hindus in North Indian tribes that kill women who refuse to enter arranged marriages. However, Christians and Hindus and the members of other religions around the world not only withdraw their support from these extremist elements; they are vocal against them. Their governments outlaw the extremists, they are treated with disdain without reservation. The majority don't pay lip-service, they act. If you believe the world shouldn't judge you by the religion you belong to, then you owe it to yourself to accord the world the respect the world accords you. Islamic extremism can only be eradicated by Muslims. Just like Africa's problems can only be solved from within Africa. Solve your problems and if you need help, the rest of the world will be ready to help. But more importantly, you guys should carry the torch. -Lord |
makzeze:That is what it's supposed to be. Officials in the private sector are supposed to earn more than officials in the government. In this scenario, those in the government are reminded they are there to serve the people. While those in the private sector drive the economy by creating profits and expand to create more jobs. With that said, public officials in Nigeria still earn a lot. Each of these ministers will have public security officers with them, with some of their immediate family members, and at their residences. The country covers the salaries of these security officers at an average of N110,000 per month per officer. |
sonnie10:Gerarrahia mehn! |
flywaterbo:I'm no lawyer, but I think it is unfair to you. Obviously you need a really good lawyer and you should threaten to sue him. Certainly, he is greedy, and if you threaten to make him spend more than he wants to in court cases, then he should budge and renegotiate a better settlement amount. Now trust me, from my experience with people like this, you will most likely not get that N1.75m without losing a huge chunk in legal fees and the whole squabble will cost you stress-wise. If he budges and agrees to up the settlement to an acceptable percentage of the total amount like N1.25m, please take it and let him be. Next time, watch out for these kind of clients and desist from doing business with them when they prove too difficult. And this should be a lesson to you, involve a lawyer from the onset for high-value transactions in the future. Add clauses in the agreement that negates any party from playing a fast one. For example, if the seller refuses to buy after both parties have invested a great deal of time, energy, and money, he should be made to part with a substantial fee. All the best mate. -Lord |
fratermathy:I agree with you. I usually desist from commenting on issues I do not have well-grounded knowledge of, like the BSc/HND dichotomy issue. However, I believe the President has received a report on the issue. http://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-willing-to-end-bsc-hnd-dichotomy-jamb/. Let us hope it is implemented quickly. In all, every Nigerian problem needs a Nigerian solution. We shouldn't just adopt some solution that is obtainable outside the country. We should factor in, what I like to call the "Nigeria factor", in all our deliberations. I really do hope the dichotomy is settled soon enough. I have a strong aversion for discrimination. @fratermathy, while we may not agree on all issues. I portend that your insight is valuable nonetheless. Delta State is diverse and is unable to source the diversity for strength. With your knowledge of anthropology, your input is needed to change the course of the state. I am a man of science. Clearly, you understand that the fundamental problem of the State is not scientific. It is anthropological. Charity begins at home they say. -Lord |
@fratermathy After all your agrima you typed this. Yes. I acknowledge that you are ethnically distinct.Uya u don lose. Oshare gbutu for me mk me forgive your insolence. If you like continue quoting me till thy Kingdom come, this time you meet person when pass you. Rexbuton go continue with you. Since you said you do not know what loss feels like. Let me educate you. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Kpele! Good bye. Isoko wa do! Goodboiy and the Urhobo gents and ladies in the house. Thank you for the thread and promoting the heritage of the South South people. -Lord over and out. |
