I'm confused.
I'm 23years of age, I have HND in statistics (Distinction), done with NYSC program, I want to further my studies but I'm really confused what to do,

1. I don't know whether to opt in for PGD or BSC(Through Direct Entry).

2. I don't know if I should switch course, from statistics to accounting via Direct Entry and I don't know if HND statistics will be accepted into accounting.
Please I seriously need your opinion and advise on it.

Hmmm, the part about aged parents going into debt for 20, 30 and 40 year old children doesn't sit well with me. It is just all shades of wrong and no sensible child should be allowing that to happen.

If you want to japa, have a plan, be patient and work your plan. Don't look for short cuts either and most importantly don't let aged parents get into debt because of you. I have never seen a group of people to afraid to take risks and generally pessimistic in my entire life!

How do you people not know that times have changed and even in this country, especially the emerging tech industry in Nigeria, you DO NOT NEED a Bsc to work.

I dropped out of 2 federal universities because i realized very early in my life that there's a difference between schooling and education and that a time will come that society is gonna need actual EDUCATED people. I'll leave you to figure out what it means to be educated cuz it seems like a lot of you guys really think you're educated. You're being Schooled that's why we're where we are as a country. if 60% of the youths are actually educated, Nigeria will probably be a better place.

First uni, I studied biochemistry and 2nd uni i studied zoology. I saw that all of these courses didn't align with the trajectory i envisaged and i took a conscious decision to change my path. it wasn't easy but here i am today.

A friend that didn't even bother going to university at all. He started learning immediately we left sec school in surulere. i recently met him in victoria island and he's a goddamn big boy. A complete senior developer at his workplace.

All of my friends back then in school are doing one thing or the other just to make ends meet and only just a few are doing relatively well. I am not mocking anyone but a lot of you just really need to stop viewing life in binary terms.

Before i got a job, i interviewed with about 3 companies in this Lagos and not one, not a single one made mention or even asked me about a Bsc. I've interviewed with firms in Brooklyn and Amsterdam, they never asked me for a degree. You people really need to wake up o.

I've been an instructor for over a year at a well-known bootcamp in lagos. Majority of my weekend students were bankers, accountants and all other types of people looking to get into the tech ecosystem.

Times have changed and you people better understand this.

I have no reason to lie. I am not claiming to be a saint and after peservering for a few years after our sex ife dried up, I looked outside and didnt look back. i was determined to stay in the marriage even though it was dead for the salke of the children (dumb move). She was a good woman for many many years so a good partner can go rogue.

I can understand people can stop loving each other but I can never get over the thought of a woman i had been with for 22 years (dated for 9 years - we were teenagers when we started) had no qualms about sending me to prison for her new flame.

Those were were the worst 2 years of my life. No home, had to move into shared accomodation, something I had never done in all my life in the abroad , had to sell my car and, took on so much debt to pay almost £20,000 in solicitor/barrister fees, took a second job doing 12 hours night shift in a factory. All this was going on with the prospect of prison time and a criminal record.

Those were really dark days and I contemplated suicide. The ironic thing is, it was a woman who helped me through those very dark times. i honestly believe if that woman wasnt in my life in that period, I wouldnt be here today.

You have to get a job in Mauritius after your studies. with your contract offer, you will get an occupation permit which allows you to work and live in Mauritius for a specific years. With this permit you can apply for your visa.
It's thesame with other EUROPEAN countries, you can't finish your studies immediately and then try to japaa... who does that ? Its not possible in any country.
It's either you start the process before your visa nears 3months to expire or you wait till you get another permit.

in my culture, before any family agrees to let you marry their daughter, you would have to agree to take care of:
1. Her shelter
2. Her clothing

A. Let her work
B. Agree to give her pocket money every month. This is after taking care of the 1.2.3 above.

I weighed my option and realized the offers of 50-60k salary isnt worth the attentions my kids will need. She has to suspend her career for 7yrs and to allow the period of child bearing. And as we forged ahead, it was even clearer allowing her take a white-collar job wont be ideal. Had to set her up with my entire savings and she now earns even more than i do.

Note: I took these steps because she proved a good woman within these period of 7yrs and showed she is so much interested in a team work.

If your dont want a dependent woman, find her and make her independent if you can. Her character is much more important than what she brings to the table, because u can help her bring something but u cant change a bad character.

Haven said all this, never allow your wife to be fully dependent because if you die she will be stranded and your children will suffer.

So I've been following this topic for years. 2019 I gave an agent money to process my wife's visa application because I was out of the country and I wanted everything to go smoothly but the application was declined after 3 or 4months and my wife was already heavy.
This time I decided to try myself and was granted less than 2weeks. That Mr Prince someone complained about is a crook that collected money from my friend as well and the visa is still under review since November.

I was supposed to start my Internship in the US next month, I already got my employment letter and accommodation, but my J1 visa sponsor said my SEVIS was rejected reasons being that I have to complete 1year studies before going to the US for internship. So them shift my resumption date to September. Make I enjoy the Island till then.
