BornorBang:
Have you been wondering the states in Nigeria that pay NYSC Corpers the highest state allowance? This article published by unveils the 10 top paying states for NYSC allowance you should consider while selecting states for your NYSC posting.

Let's dive in!

1. Lagos State :
Topping the list of states that pay corpers state allowance is Lagos State, the commercial capital of Nigeria.

Regarding security, Lagos is one of the safest places for corps members in Nigeria.

For most corps members, Lagos state is the best state for NYSC in Nigeria, mostly because of the several multinational companies in Lagos.

Sadly, it is too competitive, and getting posted to Lagos is more luck than choice.

But one thing is sure, NYSC Lagos State allowance will reach you.

The Lagos state government pays corps members in ministries the sum of N10,000/Month while Corp Members in Local Government Offices are paid N5,000 monthly.

2. Akwa Ibom State :
This is one state in Nigeria that is a major destination for corps members. If you serve in Akwa Ibom, you will understand why and definitely fall in love with the state.

For a while, the state has been paying an additional Akwa Ibom State NYSC stipend to corps members on the day they’re to pass out from the camp.

According to the government, it’s to help them get to their various PPAs before their service year officially begins.

Akwa Ibom is as safe as a safe house.

Also, feeding is cheap in all parts of Akwa Ibom.

Transportation cost is also affordable, housing cost is reasonable, and the lifestyle is great.

If you’re asking yourself, “How much does Akwa Ibom pay corpers?” your answer is here.

The state government allowance for corpers in Akwa Ibom is ₦5,000 monthly flat rate. However, some professional courses receive higher Akwa Ibom State NYSC allowance than others. There are also various companies that pay corpers in Akwa Ibom State, and trust me, they pay them well.

3. Anambra State :
Another state on this list of states that pay youth corpers is Anambra state.

The Anambra government pays corps members ₦9,000, which is higher than all states except Lagos state.

Yes, you read that right.

In the state, food is cheap, accommodation is reasonable, and transportation is affordable.

You won’t have to look for the best PPA in Anambra State because the state offers lots of great PPA opportunities.

Some persons however argue that this payment (N9000) is a one-time payment paid once.

How much does Anambra State pay nurse corpers?

Anambra State pays nurses corpers the sum of N22,000 monthly.

4. Kano State :
Kano is a major commercial hub and one of the few northern states that pay NYSC allowance.

The state is on our list of states that pay youth corpers in Nigeria and has been consistent for some time.

At a time, Kano state was amongst the most populous states in Nigeria, although the Boko Haram crisis might have contributed to the state losing some population.

Corps Members dislike serving in the north because of the fragile security in the region.

However, Kano is an exception.

Kano state is a state you will enjoy living in if you find yourself there.

Things are cheap in the city, making it an ideal state for all corpers as they can save a significant part of their allowance.

The Kano state government pays corps members ₦5,000 monthly, making it the best northern state for NYSC.

5. Taraba State :
This state is another state in the north that pays corpers NYSC state allawi.

They pay corps members working in public establishments six thousand Naira (₦6,000) monthly. Besides public organizations, there are other offices that pay corpers in Taraba state.

This was implemented in December 2018, and to date, the state government is still paying.

So if you’re wondering whether Taraba State is good for NYSC, you’ve got your answer.

6. Niger State :
Undoubtedly, this is the most “secure” state in the north and pays corpers state allowance.

Generally, feeding and housing are cheap in the entire north, and Niger state isn’t an exception.

Besides that, there are various business opportunities you can start while in the north.

The state has a steady power supply, which can be attributed to the Kainji dam’s presence.

The Niger state nysc allowance for corps members is N6000 per month.

If you’re looking for where to serve and pass out without drama, head to Niger state.

7. Rivers State :
This is among the best states in Nigeria for NYSC.

People who served in Rivers can testify that Rivers State is worth mentioning on this list of states that pay corpers state allowance.

The state pays a Rivers State NYSC allowance of N15,000 to Corps members posted in the state.

If you serve in the State Capital, Port Harcourt, you might end up serving in a big oil company and earn more.

8. Osun State :
This list of Nigeria states’ NYSC allowance will not be complete if Osun State is not mentioned.

Osun is one of the southwest states that pay corpers and has maintained the status over the years.

The state is calm and peaceful, has good electricity, and can turn your dream into reality.

Osun State NYSC allowance is N5,000.

9. Jigawa State :

Jigawa state government pays its corps members ₦5,000 monthly flat rate.

However, those in hospitals receive N16000 and medicine, and veterinary medicine corpers earn about N26,000.

The state is one of the northern states people love to go for NYSC.

10. Ebonyi State :

Ebonyi state is a state in the southeastern part of Nigeria.

As of 2018/2019, Ebonyi state was paying corpers N10,000 monthly for their monthly Ebonyi NYSC State allowance.

However, there is a strong rumor that the payment stopped after the 2019 general election as the corpers that came after weren’t paid.

With the ongoing transformation in the state, many are looking for companies in Ebonyi State that pay corpers.

We will update you if there is any development with the payment of the Ebonyi State NYSC allowance.

How much does Ebonyi State pay nurse NYSC corpers?

Ebonyi State pays NYSC nurses in the state hospitals N10,000 only monthly.

Ebonyi state no pay Corpers shishi!!! I served there in 2019... The Governor na thief!

It's across board. Nigerian IT folks are so desperate to earn some money, they accept peanuts when they could be earning at least 5x more.

Good thing you asked about other roles outside development. Most of these developers come a dime a dozen with new entrants flooding the space. Product design is an interesting space to play in especially as a Nigerian techie as not many Naija techs have gotten in there yet regarding foreign remote jobs. I work in a somewhat of a niche market and have hardly found any other Nigerian in my niche. I'm not saying there aren't any (at least I network with a few of them locally). But those in the niche sort of believe that there aren't remote openings. I'm currently in talks with a major player in the field (based in Cyprus, Republic of Cyprus not the so-called Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where most Nigerian students now flock to). They are willing to cover relocation to Nicosia (capital of Cyprus) but I'm still weighing my options. TBH, I'd rather live in Nigeria earning foreign pay.
I'm sure you don't fancy Cyprus... Omo if na USA Baba I swear you for don Jakpa!! grin grin

I once had a conversation with a mobile app developer with 2+ years experience working for a software agency in Nigeria non remote job mon-fri and he’ll be coding lots of app per month for a pay of about 120k while the oga will be collecting the contract of $3000-$4000 per app. The dude had no idea how remote jobs work and how much his mates are earning in dollars, two days after our conversation he resigned straight up.
You're a good man ...God bless you for opening his eyes!!!! See we have so many software developers who just learnt how to code and are good at it but they refused to get other Necessary skills to go with it like NETWORKING!!!! see , I just helped a software developer with less than 1yr experience who has applied for lots of jobs on LinkedIn, get a job even though I'm still yet to be a software developer... The little network I have can give me a job but I don't have the skill yet....of which I'm currently studying JavaScript....

Software developers should know that coding alone isn't all you need... You need other skills like NETWORKING , the Act of salary Negotiations etc.

I receive at least one email per week with the same question. I hope to create a thread soon where I'll share my own journey and practical tips to transition from a learner to landing the first remote job. I can't address it here cos it'll be too long. The problem is alot of people are learning which is good but they're doing so in a way that makes them unattractive to employers especially foreign companies.

Not to brag but I got my first remote role just 4 months after I started learning. I ascribe that to favour and the fact that I had a clear path to follow which others too have followed and achieved the same result. There is no secret here whatsoever, everything is available in public space for free. Of course, individual realities will differ.
It would be nice if you create a thread on it...so upcoming Devs can learn cool

I don't think it is about blaming Naija per se but there are also some expenses that shouldn't be if not for naija situation. For instance if I travel to other places in Europe for holiday I just stay with friends. But in Naija I have to hide in hotel because of my security and before people turn your family house to problem solving center. Thirdly, the level of comfort you need during holiday you might not get it without staying in hotel where no one disturbs you, everything is clean and arranged like you would have it out here.

I also agree with you that you could chose to spend more or less but then people view their security differently. Bros when I show town with my oyibo I dey carry mopol join body ooh. It costs money ooh I would rather pay than someone asking me for ransom. I can't shout ooh bro.

It all depends on how you to decide to live. Many Nigerians abroad, choose to live in Hotels in Lagos/PH/Abuja when they come home. That is very expensive. I live modestly when I come to Nigeria, I hardly eat out and avoid too much nightlife (Might have 2 or 3 fun nights and thats it). There is no reason why N1 million should not last a month, if you are prudent
This man just said the whole truth!! Cos so many Nigerians a devils!!! They would be abroad and would be telling you that life is better in Nigeria ...but the same people would never come back to Nigeria and stay o! I just don't know why some people just choose to evaluate their self worth on another man's Misery and suffering. Just look at Indians , they would do all they can to LEGALLY bring their fellow countrymen over to a more prosperous country!!! But some Nigerians would tell you it's not easy that they're suffering and you shouldn't come!!! Very wicked People!

You leave Abroad to come here for vacation and you choose to still maintain the same quality kind of life you live abroad and you expect it not to be expensivehuhhuh The joke is on you! You think good things come cheap? Some people here say they spend 2M in less than 2 months some say 6M .... So if you're matured in thinking and educated you would realise that you can definitely live on 500k naira even in 3 months vacation in Nigeria but it would certainly not be the kind of quality you're used to In abroad! Because I put it to you , when you have a taste of a good life and what it really means to live like a COMPLETE NORMAL HUMAN BEING , you would never wanna go back ... Abi no be this same Nigeria where people dey live and survive on less than $1 a dayhuh

Una go come back Una go see hotel room of 4k and 5k per day Una go shout Tufiakwa!! God forbid then run go carry hotel of 50k per day come here they shout say make we dey here say Nigeria dey expensive!!! I SWEAR TO GOD!!!! GOD WILL PUNISH ALL OF YOU!! SAYING TRASH!! YES MAKACHUKWU ALL OF YOU!!

Nigeria to see work na problem , oya you go see work for them to pay you na wahala!! Oya na you won start business where the Capital?? what of health care!!! Just 2 weeks ago I saw a poster of my Secondary school mate who needs 25M for kidnap transplant Omo I swear to God she's good as dead cos where she go see that kind money!! NOW I PUT IT TO YOU , WHERE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A WHITE MAN PUT UP POSTER FOR KIDNEY TREATMENThuh

My uncle was doing security in Nigeria with a meager salary I think 15k per month or so then he was doing 2 security Jobs , morning here , night in another place!! Just to make 30k per month!! So some years back he was lucky to go to the US for a conference na in in no come back ooo... He applied for asylum and after the whole back and forth in court , he got it now fast forward to this period , he has a house he bought ( 5 Bedroom Duplex or so ) he rented out 4 and stays in one... He has helped the family in so many ways , in 2019 he tried bringing 7 members of the family to the US for vacation he sent money for Our passport ( 30k times 7 ) sent money for B1/B2 visa for 7 persons ( 59,200 times 7 ) and was just praying we get the visa cos he was prepared to send both flight money and BTA for 7 of us... But it didn't pull through cos them deny all of us meeeen grin ... He's still making plans though ...Uncle God bless you sha

I don't care if you believe me and I don't give a daaaam I'm here to tell you that my uncle makes $2,000 ever week.... Someone that does 2 security work year in year out in Nigeria for Peanuts and takes that same spirit to the US you think he won't make ithuh Una go go abroad begin dey form pepper dem gang instead make Una hustle legit Una go come come back begin dey tell us trash!!! GOD WILL PUNISH YOU ALL!!! telling us to stay here!!! After , you guys will start blaming Buhari so many of you here are worst!!

I realized how hard life was while in Malaysia.
I had to beg my sister back in Nigeria to send me a few bucks. I bought a big loaf of bread and ate it, morning, afternoon and night,in such a way that I would be praying it doesn't finish because I would have to resort to eating groundnut and crackers day and night.
Luckily,I got an offer I was waiting for from Nigeria to come back home and work for the federal government based on my training.
The money they sent me could only take me as far as Lagos because I've already used from there to buy one or two for my peeps back home the week before without really calculating myself,I was looking at what I should at least get for everyone at home.
By the time I landed at MMI Airport I had just 200 hundred naira on me and I needed to be in port harcourt, which was my final destination.
The shame of calling my Parents to tell them after staying abroad for years, I could not complete my Tfare from Lagos down to phc was embarrassing. The guy man I was chitchatting with all along from Kuala Lumpur airport told me,he also doesn't have one Kobo on him that he was waiting for them to just come and pick him after I opened up to him that I going to Ph.
So I decided to walk into of those offices at the outskirts of the airport,it was for one of those domestic airlines where forgetten and unrecovered luggages were kept just around the airport.
First,I went and sat there. After much contemplating. I went to met the receptionist there and told her my story, everyone told me they don't have money to give me ooo. They offered me a phone. I used it to call my godfather in ph but after telling me "so you don't even have any money on you there?"And how much was the flight from Lagos to Ph?He told me he would get back to me and didn't bother to call me back or pick again. I waited til night and decided to call my dad but after telling him I was in Lag. I could not summon the words to tell him I was stranded and needed help. So when he asked me when I was going to be in ph,I told him I was coming that I am in Lagos already.I also spoke with my mum and told her the same thing.
Then I came back to the reality of things, that I don't have one naira on me. I was just seating at that office with all my bags and luggage like i was waiting for one fancy car coming to pick me up.
It around 10pm I was hungry but that was just the least of the problems. One guy,a travels agent who had earlier seen me there, came in and saw the hunger and struggle in my eyes. He cared to ask, so I told him my lifetime experience. He told me not to worry, took me to a private waiting lounge at the airport where some persons were already waiting. On the Ironbar benches there was where I spread my duvet and slept that night.
Next morning, the same dude came and took me to one of the airlines sales rep at the domestic terminal. After discussing with the lady, he told me the lady would fix me on the next flight to Ph,he gave his phone number and left. I thanked the guy a million times even if e no give me one penny I appreciated his efforts.
After waiting for hours not far from this lady, she didn't look at me like someone was waiting on her. They called the next flight to Ph was boarding but she didn't bother to say a word to me.So I went up to her and asked her howfar and why I was waiting on her. Then she told me she was sorry that the flight was fully booked that there were no spare seats. That she told Mr.pero she would help me if there were empty seats remaining.
For the first time,I felt like crying. All my hopes turned into glass.
Saying to myself I really need to call my mum and explain this thing to her so she can relate it to my dad so they can know and find a way to send me some money rather than thinking I was still in Lagos probably because I wanted to flex a little.
So last last na still Mumsy and Popsy been come through for you!!! Omo ehhh God bless them abeg

as long as she is not aiming for promotion or salary increment from one weyrey....and she is not receiving any form of query or warning letter for late coming lol bros a business woman is different from a career woman.
They are not different. As a career woman aims to move up the career ladder which also comes with salary increment the same goes for the business woman who aims to increase her sales and also expand her business(es) see my brother , it wouldn't be a crime if one marries a woman who as the husband moves up the career ladder in his field , she also either as a worker , moves up the career ladder of her own field or as a business woman she manages her business well and also expands.

Such women commands respect from both the husband and the in-laws. I would suggest that you go out more and get close to people in the corporate world and you would understand what I mean. In 2015 I did my 6 months IT in NNPC HEADQUARTERS IN ABUJA and I nearly went mad! Omo you would see women in Strategic offices and you go dey envy their husbands. My ex GF studied petroleum engineering and made a massive first class where boys where in majority. She even got a placement with Chevron or so in Porthacourt self but she didn't take it. In 2020 I went to a Tech bootcamp in Lagos and I saw ladies there doing good Omo see ehn e get some kind girls you go see wey dey do things for your field and you'll be intimidated!! And I love that.

My aunt is a Magistrate and sometimes the husband comes to court just to watch her give judgement on cases and in head go just dey swell anyhow! While in the other hand, my uncle married a wife wey no dey do anything its now after 3 kids that she's now learning how to sew clothes. The man doesn't even have respect for her. He bleeps other girls and does crazy things. So tell me, assuming the woman on her own had her shits together before going into marriage you think the man go dey do am like thathuh No way!!! Omo she go just pack her children comot for the marriage!

When you see a woman in business doing well , managing her business very well and looking for ways to expand Omo she COMMANDS RESPECT from her husband and male folks anywhere! And let me just tell you, MEN DEY LOOK FACE BEFORE THEY FOLLOW ANY BABE TALK RUBBISH!

BRO, THERE ARE WOMEN DOING AMAZING THINGS, SOME IN BUSINESS AND SOME IN CAREERS.

It's not advisable the husband is the sole provider for his families in this age because we have seen many times how many married men lost their means of livelihood thereby making it difficult for them meeting their families demands. A man should be able to establish a business for his wife if he's not okay with her working in a company or firm, he should establish her and also provide support to her business from time to time so that whenever he's down, the woman would be there to support the family. That's why they are couples, no one should be a lord over the other, they are just partners to lookout for each other. Many men can be funny sometimes, they can hit back at their wife by not providing for her needs alongside the children anytime they have issues, if the wife has something doing, she won't be bothered. Any man who wants to tie this path is a devil and an insecure man, i won't accept such from my would be partner. She must have something doing @ all cost.

I think a married woman should not have to work. Your wife stands to be treated as a subordinate and even disrespected by her bosses. Some may try to make advances. A man should make enough money to a point that his wife does not have to work too.

What do you think ?
I think you're a kid!! Your write up just sold you out! Just imagine!!! What Nonsense!!!

You are very right brother.

As things stands I'm Nigeria presently, the best gift you can give your unborn kids is to give double citizenship and let them make their choice(s) when they are of age. Besides,

I wish you and your woman the very best

It depends on the kind of lady you are dating.

I had a problem with my woman some time ago reason is because I ran out of cash which resulted me borrowing money from my manche, my woman didn't take it lightly oh. She said, why should I borrow from a friend when she has more than the money sleeping in her account and she isn't using it to do anything at that moment?. Brothers and sisters, no be small issue like this o.

She said Nnaa, if I can't help you when you're in need then why am i your lover or friend in the first place?. Mehn! I marvelled I swear.

So, e get one day I stylishly asked her to help me with 10k, babe gave me her ATM and told me to collect 20k. O boy, I no know wetin I go talk, I collected the money, kept it for 2wks, then used it to get her a very nice gown and a sexy sandals. Mind you she never mentioned about paying her back.

Then on 21st April which is my birthday, babe said that I should prepare that she wanna take me out and I thought it's just normal taking out o, no be small thing. Babe took me to Onitsha mall, she bought a birthday cake and wine for me, we entered one shop there A**.ng(if you know OSHA mall, you'll know this shop), babe said, Nnaa, take whatever you like, at first, I thought she was joking but she isn't.

Brother and sisters on NL, this babe got my surprise surprised, I took 2 Pakistani jeans(a trouser and a short) which cost more than 20k, took 2 T-shirts which is roughly 15k, babe wanna buy pams that is more than 10k for me I rejected because she don over spend jare, I was just smiling sheepishly, in fact, my legs no fit carry me at that moment. I've never experienced such in my life before. At some point, I begin to wonder if this is truly a naija babe because I never expererit.

That's why I always laugh whenever my NL goons keep on bashing our naija babes, but me I dey always ask God to bless Nigerian girls who doesn't see relationship as a meal ticket or a one way street or a poverty alleviation scheme. Relationship ought to be a two way street, you rub my back, I rub my back that's it.
My GF sees giving me as her responsibility ...I pray we finally end up together sha...cos we have been dating since 2017( 4 years now ) and she's been the best Girls I can ever ask God for. I'll eventually end up with her ... I just need to at least have one leg in Nigeria and the other one in Europe because I no go ever like to Born my pikin for this country!!! So if she get patience Omo I go spoil her life with enjoyment so help me God! But if she's not patient then she has my blessings to leave!

It's gon hurt but Omo with the way this country is going Omo desperate times requires desperate measures!!!
