Joshthefirst: Don't be hasty. I never said God doesn't care. I said God is not threatened by anyone or anything. Disbelief is idiocy and the height of foolishness and self-delusion(like you reading only what the words you want to see in my post, the words that make you think you're justified in your foolish unbelief).
Anyone can know God. He has been revealing himself through the ages.
..since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20 HCSB http://bible.com/72/rom.1.19-20.HCSB
The only reason we beg you and try to convince you to believe in Jesus Christ is because God cares about you, and we care too. But we know that if you do not accept salvation, you'll be gone. God is a just God.
I believe this answers most of the questions directed at me.
Please try and be logical in your perceptions of God next time, or at least try and be logical in your futile attempts to throw accusations at him to justify your unbelief. No! GOD has not been revealing itself... we don't see imprints of Allah or Jehova in Nature. We see the manifestations of Energy not the work of God No |

Well, yes there's no such person as Iustice (it's actually Iustitia not "iustice" , Brahma or Thor They are personifications, and as far as I know the idea of personification is giving human attributes to something that isn't a person |

Don't forget that the yoruba nation as it is, does not really means descendants of oduduwa. Oduduwa is just one man, everybody cannot come from his bloodline. Remember, he's the leader of the old yoruba race but not the founder.
People precede him, like the ILAJEs for instance... That doesn't mean those preceding groups are any less yoruba Nicely said |

absoluteSuccess: To the best of my knowledge, the ODO in 'EGBADO' is YEWA. The ODO is known as ODO ISALU at ADO. This unbilical-cord connects the two group. Yewa agrees with Awori because they both shared closely knitted history and culture than with the Egbas Exactly! It should be Egba of the River(Yewa) As you pointed out, they were probably Egba from Ibadan axis after the Lisabi saga |

but The warri township re mostly URHOBo/ itsekiri . maybe 60/40 or 50/50 Exactly! Just confusion. actually, nobody seems to be claiming another person's land |
Culture › Re: Warri- The Urhobos, The Itsekiris And The Ijaws : Facts And Factlets. by macof(m): 10:59pm On Sep 08, 2015 |
daxlasaint: the traditional name(s) of warri TOWNSHIP is the names of the various communities that make up the areas that became warri township... this township was a planned city not along natural historical boundaries... The Iwerre you are talking about is Ode Itsekiri... Even the itsekiri communities in warri township had and still have their own names before warri was created... your namesake is not you... You can't claim a place simply cos it bears the same name as yours. And as to the issue of Egbaland, u are wrong... I have lived with Yorubas for more than 10 yrs and I know for certain that Obas granted lands in foreign lands pay homage to their overlords... Even the Oba of Benin recieves homage from more than a few urhobo kings by virtue of desent. is ode - Itsekiri part of the warri you are fighting for ? why would I be talking of only ode - Itsekiri? Am talking of the entire land that belongs to Itsekiri - Which includes parts(or originally all ) of Warri city. Like I said blame the Europeans for the confusion. Today land that probably never belong to Itsekiri is part of Warri Metropolis but that doesn't stop the Olu from being King of Warri(just another name for Iwere)...urhobo know their territory and can continue living comfortably There's difference between Warri Metropolis and Warri Kingdom you are telling me Olowu pays homage to Alake? Olowu who expanded the Egba nation? Oga there's no homage paying in Abeokuta. ..all the kings control their own respective people |
Culture › Re: Proud Awori People Identify Yourselves Here by macof(m): 10:26pm On Sep 08, 2015 |
absoluteSuccess: Exactly, they probably came before the egbas arrived at Abeokuta from their former homeland at Ibadan at the zenith of power and fall of old Oyo. Egba did establish her hegemony upon the Egbados because they lack central cohession, she also fought to control Ota and lay siege against Ado, but the siege against Ado failed because Ado connects to Whydah from the creek (olisa ere lokan omi osa). The Egbas were frustrated, they short the border against themselves in a bid to punish Ado (for supporting Ota) At last, they agreed to a peace deal with Ado in a place called 'Onibuku', (holy book, where they sworn to maintain peace and order with the bible), Then bishop Ajayi Crowder reconcilled the two warring sides. you are on your own with this @bold |
Culture › Re: Warri- The Urhobos, The Itsekiris And The Ijaws : Facts And Factlets. by macof(m): 9:41pm On Sep 08, 2015 |
daxlasaint: But in the case of the Egbas these assimilated kings pay homage and tribute to the Alake as their overlord... can u say the same is the case with the Olu ? No, they are independent and work together to move Egbaland forward. think of it as cooperative governance over their people. ..the 4 groups look to their own kings But the land really belongs to the Ake people You know the problem with warri is that the battling groups speak different languages You fail to realize that Iwere is the native name of Warri(all 3 Lga) and this land area is of mass far above the metropolitan city of warri....blame the Europeans for the confusion The solution can only lay in truth. ...finding out the history of the various communities in the city and probably breaking it up if push comes to shove |

Just like some1 earlier said, OBA of Lagos doesn't mean Yoruba re d only Tribe in Lagos, its just that Yoruba re d founder. same with Iwerre (warri).
I hold nothing against Urhobo Cous am more Urhobo than my tribe, let's just 4get about all these, The most important tin is Peace, Let's come together. ;Dyou obviously have both urhobo and Itsekiri blood. ..you no wan choose one side |

daxlasaint: And I can tell u u just sprouted trash... are igbudu and agbassa not part of warri township or is your olu also a landlord there? If your Olu owns warri how come there are 3 kings in warri township area alone? Have u ever heard of a king that allows his sovereignty to be undermined in that manner? Having this arguement with you is an exercise in futility because if the last 50 years of this issue hasn't made istsekiri's admit the truth then I most definitely don't expect you to be reasonable either. There are many reasons why kings share their power and authority with Leaders of later settlers. .. u once spoke Egbaland I'll bring u to the capital of Egbaland - Abeokuta where there are 4 Kings, yet Alake is known as King of Egbaland It could be to boost the labour force and strengthen the country, or just to avoid a brutal conquest |
Culture › Re: Warri- The Urhobos, The Itsekiris And The Ijaws : Facts And Factlets. by macof(m): 8:53pm On Sep 08, 2015 |
daxlasaint: The only condition for linking a royal title to a particular town is that the people of that etnic group are native to that town alone, itsekiris should not sell their cow for a bucket of milk. He is the Olu of itsekiriland not of warri. Just like the oba of Egbaland and the Orodje of Okpeland.... the truth is the truth no matter how much we try to distort it. Any civilized and progressive human being must admit facts when the lie becomes untenable. The Oba of Egbaland (Alake) doesn't Rule all Egbaland, he granted rights to other settlers who have clear independence from the Alake. ...so if you use this to compare the Warri issue, we can conclude that Olu allowed settlers - The urhobo and ijaw communities in Warri Metropolis |

scholes0: I ave noticed that the Ilaje, Owo, Ikale and to certain extents, the Idanre, Ondo and Ekiti dialects are infacts very very similar. with Ilaje-Owo being most similar even though miles apart.
* These dialects have the presence of the fricatives "Gh"...... which has been condensed to just 'W" in standard Yoruba "Gw", "Kh",
* Words beginning with "U" which in standard yoruba would be an "I" like: Ule - Ile, Isu - Usu, Use - Ise, Ugbo - Igbo, Etc
* Use variants of Dede, Kete and Gede to refer to an entirety ... like Aghan oma Ilaje Dede (All the Ilaje children) , Oma Ekiti Kete (All Ekiti children) , Oma Ogho gede (All Owo children) Etc
* All have slower and more "melancholic" / "melodic" forms or kinds of music which involves a slow chanting, and calculated step orientated movement like the Binis-- with rhythmic swaying of the body from side to side, and graceful leg movements.
It is said that these South-Eastern dialects, are the most original form of Yoruba.... not the Oyo influenced generality that we all speak today.
And Et cettera. Quite right, There's a pattern - Itsekiri - Ijebu/Ilaje - Owo - Ondo/Ekiti Ekiti however don't have the Bini-like melody |
