Some Christians don't understand that every human has conscience which controls morality. They think only them are Moral, upright and righteous

Rossikk: Actually yes. Many people in the past spoke Yoruba who were not ethnically related to others who also spoke Yoruba, or to the original speakers. Sometimes it was people brought together by conquest, migration etc. Then someone comes along and sees them all speaking the language and labels them all 'Yoruba people'.

It's a bit like saying just because we all speak English in Nigeria doesn't make us Englishmen. We speak English because we were conquered by English speaking people a century ago who imposed their language on the country.
I see you know nothing about Yoruba history.

Yoruba people are not linked by language but my ethnical origin
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is African Traditional Religion Seen As Demonic? by macof(m):
alnaijiri: Traditional African religions, like traditional religions everywhere in the world, are lacking in morality, but rather focuses their attention on superstitions, magic, charms, etc. With the advent of science, an educated person cannot possibly believe in that former mumbo-jumbo. However, religions that preach morality manage to stand the test of time.

Religion shouldn't be about race or colonialism. Did not the pagans of Europe who worshipped Odin or Zeus give up their beliefs to believe in one God (and unfortunately in the blasphemous notion that God has a son). Did not the people of the Middle East give up their various pagan gods in order to live in the light of Islam?
1. ATR Isnt lacking in morality
2. Educated people are in fact pagans
3. Most Westerners are not religious folks, they might claim certain religions like Christianity and Judaism but they actually live free of these religious way of thinking.
4. They didn't give up their worship freely, the Vatican instigated crucifixion of all pagans. Have you even read the history of christianity? The early Christians were Savage murderers, look what they did in Rome.

Bidam: Firstly, God is not racially discriminatory, neither are His covenants to Israel and by extension the whole world racially motivated,It all began in Genesis(Books of the beginning).
Good question. If you won't mind, i will take you step by step from biblical point of view, why it is so. If you don't agree with the story of creation, then it's a waste of time.
oh I believe in the creation story, every creation story should be taken seriously cause there's always more to it

iphy42: I have followed with interest the intrigues that surround the call for a Sovereign or Non sovereign National Conference.
Many have argued that 1914 amalgamation was a big mistake while others maintain that our strength is in our number.
I think we need to be informed before taking a stand so as not to join the bandwagon driven by sentiments, greed, avarice and struggle for political control by few individuals.
Let me start with the Niger Deltans. They believe they have been marginalized and their resources forcefully taken over from them to develop Nigeria and so on but I have these thoughts for them:
1. Their leaders have received derivation fund for years, what exactly has those
Niger deltan sons done with that fund to benefit the people of region?
All the compensation money from oil companies, has it being used to better the life of the people or to provide basic infrastructure?
2. The NDDC is manned by Niger deltans, yet their eyes and ears are closed to the suffering of their people. The leadership instead loot funds meant for development and enrich their cronies and immediate families.
3. The president is from Niger delta. Has he done enough to empower his people asides paying millions of dollars to an ex militant to secure pipelines which MEND claims to destroy thereby polluting the communal lands and waters more.

Now fast forward to a divided Nigeria, are these same people looting the region dry not the ones that will be the leaders then? What would they do differently? Will they suddenly become humane? I doubt so.
Will the ijaws not want to be in charge? Will the Urhobos and Itshekiris oblige them? Will the Kalabaris and Isokos tag along? Will the division that chased them
from Nigeria not tear them apart?

I really want objective input from well meaning Nigerians for or against division so as to know the real situation on ground before we embark on this journey of no return.

I'll be right back with more.
I don't perceive Isekiri anywhere outside Oduduwa nation

So why is this Bible God so racist and discriminative against non-Jews?

Why has he always been so interested in Israel but not the other nations?
Christianity Etc › Re: Even Atheist Fear God by macof(m): 4:20pm On Oct 31, 2013
fadosky607: Let me ask all the atheists just these few questions. Is it that u bliv there's no God or u just don't wann acknowledge him? If u don't bliv there's God, do u also not bliv there's Satan? Or is it that u don't bliv in anything supernatural? If u don't bliv in the supernatural, how then do u explain such things as magic, and other things like native bullet proof where bulet doesn't penetrate the skin of one who's having such powers?

PS: pls make sure to answer all of that. Take one point at a time, instead of just clumsily answering all together...
Though the question is not for me to answer but I'll do.
God definitely exist, because the universe has a source, The universe runs on certain rules set and also all life comes from somewhere.
however my understanding of God is totally different from the Abrahamics

No satan, that's just a character made up by the early Christian leaders.

Nature itself is supernatural; nature is given and controlled by the unseen nature forces.

Native bullet prove and all sorts of magic are pagan things it has nothing to do with you. Our ancestors were wise and believe it or not their physics knowledge surpasses that of this time.
Christianity Etc › Re: Even Atheist Fear God by macof(m): 4:09pm On Oct 31, 2013
fadosky607: I bliv in all those gods u just mentioned and am pretty sure all Christians bliv in them too. The only thing is that I don't have faith in them and so don't worship them, likewise all other Christians. The bible even says the demons believe in God and they tremble-James 2:19. So u see my dear, we know such gods exist but we don't worship them! But u atheists just don't want to bliv despite all the evidence. U just don't wanna be accountable to anyone and so u choose liberalness...
So u choose to worship the Jewish God instead of the God of ur ancestors. slave smh

The truth is you don't even have to worship any God, if you understood your ancestral spirituality you would know that, instead you believe a book over the beliefs of your ancestors.

bigfrancis21: @Macof

You didn't have to call her that only because she disagreed with you.

And yes, she's right. Nothing like 'Jews' or 'Jewish' existed during the time of Christ. The Jews as you call them today were called Hebrews back then. The name, 'Jews' came to be several centuries after.
I know this bit. however answer this:

So the name "Yoruba" didn't exist until the fulani/Oyo war does that mean Yoruba didn't exist before that?

The name "Jesus" didn't exist until the English Bible was written, does that mean Jesus didn't exist?

And you jst hump into defense without reading to understand, if you read her post you would see her call Jews Euro/Americans

FOLYKAZE: I quit disagree with some of the content you got here. Considering the bold, which Odu or patakis of Orunmila instruct you to preach? This is where I wont move along with you and Pagan9ja. We ought to light the candle for those that seek enlightenment and those that want to know about African spirituality. The choice of taking it belongs to them. How does this preaching add to the potential of Orisas? Are they asking for worship, belief and faith? But seem you on with pagan9ja on preaching and the thread on marriage he opened turn me back. Let it shine bro....people have their choice when they know a reality.

Cheers man
I don't intend on preaching, no Orisha asks for worship but my quest is to reveal the concept of Yoruba spirituality and wat it's all about(at least the little I understand).

Orunmila is knowledge and wisdom so am not wrong to say he can be reached if a human opens his mind to him.

A person who is interested in finding out the truth, looking for answers, interested in learning wat he doesn't already know is working in line with Orunmila. That's wat Ifa is all about- seeking knowledge of wat you don't know.
