How, can you explain how the sale of less than 5% of his shares in Access Bank relates to the appropriation of his 7 months salary.

He got a total dividend of about N800 million based on his holdings from the bank in 2019
rushed to type in gibberish too early, a blog once came up about CEOs take home pay, and it puts wigwes annual pay at #80million, This should amount to approximately 7 years remuneration..... I mistook for monthly take home pay...............................................................Choi See Wigwe O grin

1. Their reason for buying could certainly be to take position with their "tasere" units before the closed period is announced, during which they are not permited by law to trade.
2. They must notify the exchange about transactions they execute in line with the stipulations of the NSE rule books because directors are mandated to make disclosures as their transactions are classified as "insider trades" by virtue of their position/status.
the amounts involved are insignificant, the persons involved are not average employees..................Emmanuel nnorom buying 5 million units of UCAP is chicken change for someone of his status.............There has to be another motive for him buying

Recently there have been notifications to the exchange on insiders buying into the company(Ucap and now Seplat) but the quantity puchased are so small in comparison to the outstanding shares....... Also when I look at salaries of the Insiders in question I have to conclude that, the buying was not for investment purposes............................So what could be their Reasons for buying and why notify the exchange at this period

My projections are for myself, his own projections were monetized.

People paid 20k in 2006 to listen to his projections at his seminars and also used the power of the media to get as many people as possible
The textbook essential economics taught me more than the bulk of his seminars and materials ,it's just that we have a whack system of education in Nigeria, if the essence of basic economics had entered my head in secondary school.......charlatans like him can't get away with their mavorodi plots...........

That stock was among the stocks promoted by Abayomi Obabolujo in those days (around 2007 or so). I remember going to Abayomi's office then at Onipanu to buy 50,000 units at N5 per unit (that is totaling N350,000). The one that pains me most is that a friend of mine also bought 60,000 units simply because he saw me buying and thoughts the future of the stock will be bright. Japaul was the basis of comparison then as Japaul was selling around N12 or so.
The truth is that buying Geofluid then was a mistake, but I have since move on. They have a registrar which I cannot remember now. So, you can find out any information you want from the registrar.
Im yet to hear any body make real wealth from Abayomis recommendations, meanwhile since I started trusting my instincts with self study, ive grown considerably..........Obviously, his magzine died a natural death........ a magzine that should hqve taken the title of Financial times of Nigeria

The actual number of units I bought yesterday is lesser than the amount I am seeing on my portfolio. I am not seeing over 70% of the total number of units I bought yesterday. I used the whole money I have in my account to buy the units. When I checked my account later during the day, they refunded me back some parts of the money. Whenever I run statement of account command on my Morgan platform, it will show that I bought 100% of the units, but the 100% is not reflecting on my portfolio. I know Morgan staffs are here, they should explain to me what happened.
Computer has made a lot of us impatient.....Usually you have to wait transaction day + 3days to truly know the position of shareholding in a company......if you have had a transaction receipt, trust me everything would add up within 4 days........finally cross check ur acct with ur cscs account

For those in Wapco, just console yourself with the fact that some entities bought into it while restructuring @ #44, in last 2 years.......Those buying must @ least get returns for their investment except they would be paid in kind

Lightning does strike twice. Guinness is very unlikely to drop materially in price.
Please shed more light, the floor from a #30 high is too high cos I'm a holding personality, I love my bp, the brewing sector is in pains and this administration is not giving them a listening ear.........Even Bismack Rewane has given up courting this administration,I don't see a return to good profitability, that's why I peg to buy Guiness when the bells for next election rings

2019 seems to have been the year of special situations (mergers and acquisitions). Money was made chiefly from deals. Anyone who manged to play just 2 of these right was made for the year.

1. Access-Diamond merger
2. Dangote flour take-over
3. CCNN-BUA cement merger
4. UACN unbundling
5. Lafarge restructruing
6. Continental Re take-over

It seems it is mainly mergers and acquisitions and deals, more than fundamentals that drives gains.

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHAT MIGHT BE THE TOP DEALS GOING FORWARD INTO THIS YEAR?
Access Diamond would have been the sweetest but over analysis killed me, both from the access side and the diamond side

Dangote flour deal should teach everyone that holding stocks @ least for medium term pays especially those that are trying to clean up their houses, I can still remember someone giving analysis of how Alhaji was buying for #3 a stock that was selling for 0.80k, and in less than 5 years Olan now pays #20+ for the same stock....... No pain no gain

Currently UACN, Larfarge, FO are doing some form of house keeping

Guinness is doing same but I can't pay #30 for Guinness, I will buy towards the end of this administration, by then it must have fallen.....

Dangote Cement will Start a kind of cleanup after Jan 22 Egm

I'm currently awaiting result season......im smelling some stocks with mouth watering capital gains (uacn) will churn out shocking result hence this mini bull we are experiencing so that when investors abandon it....it won't ride to zero...

I'm currently not expecting superb result from ucap, management did the damage repairs after first quarter result were released.....

I'm also not happy with FO.....After raising my hopes with #8 eps in first and second quarter they crashed it down to #4 in 3rd quarter.....who knows what will remain as eps in full year result

As a newbie in the stock market, I have decided to consider dividend yield. I might opt for capital appreciation if there is any opportunity for that. I would be glad if you can enlighten a little on the following stocks:

● Dang Cem@172 - is it a good buy at the current price and if I choose to buy some units, will I be entitled to the Dividend Payout Come February ending?

● Zenith Bank@21.70 - is it a good buy at the current price and if I choose to buy some units, will i be entitled to the Dividend Payout Come February ending?

● Also UCAP@2.61 - Is It a good buy at the current price?
u have gotten lost in the euphoria of a bull season, most people here relived that the bull came, around October November last year, the mood here sulks.............

One thing any oldie will tell u is that if u have made money from stocks u must also loose money to stocks, On this thread we call it "School fees"...........

In my own opinion those that pay the highest school fees for their education in stocks entered the market for the first time in their lives during the Bull period m

My investment philosophy is to analyze already declared results and take position.
I don't base my investment decision on nse on potential or what might happen in the future.

Giving the current market condition, DC is expensive compared with other available options. They have cash which is a positive one and the share buy back should also be good for the share price.....

Sir My fickle mind is telling me that Dangote Cement is perfecting their strategy to buy out Wapcos operations in Nigeria, If it is not already finalised by both Management, the clearing and streamlining of wapcos books to reflect only Nigeria operations, the carpet crossing of CEO,,,, A little digging and i found out that Dangote Cement has stalled the building of another cement plant around Ijebu-Ode, they might be thinking why build another one if these foreigners would rather sell out.....
