I am not saying the so-called leaders are saints but the masses are also one of the major problems of Nigeria.

I was born and raised in Nigeria so I know what I am talking about, don't pretend as if you don't know how Nigerians behave. Most Nigerians are wicked in nature, I saw pure witchcraft during the cash scarcity.

Even if fuel is reduced to N200per litre today it would still take ages before they comply because of greed/wickedness.
do you have a business or run one? A businessman will always based decision on the forces of demand and supply and on speculation. The current hardship and inflation in Nigeria is govt instigated. So blame them appropriately.

Just recently, you and I witnessed another tsunami in electricity price increment, snf tomorrow you'll blame businesses for increasing prices. For every cost increment in production, the final consumer bears the brunt. This is simple economics.

We are getting there gradually. Dollar is striking but these devilish supermarket owners are inflating for selfish gain. We are truly our enemies in this country.
these people buy diesel to power freezer and run their facility 24/7.

Why were we not complaining this years ago? For how long can the govt coerce businesses into price regulation? Are we not a capitalist state again whr demand and supply influence prices of commodities? I do not own a business, but I'm certain this business owners are not the cause.

President Tinubu single-handedly caused this inflation, he should fix it.

Nice one.

Nigerians are the most wicked people on earth, they take advantage of every opportunity to punish others.

"E don cost o" nai we dey always hear for Nigeria, when e cheap traders nor go talk.
so you mean business owners arbitrarily chose to increase prices of their goods? Can we just as a people start thinking right and blame who is meant to be blamed?

Fuel 650, diesel 1300, gas 1300, dollar 1300. Then you guys go about blaming businesses for inflating prices. This is absurdity in its highest form.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Government Raises Electricity Tariff From N66 To N225 Per KPH by Mandate1: 9:29pm On Apr 03, 2024
IbeOkehie:
The USA is rich because its economy is based on liberal capitalism and free markets. The US government has chosen to subsidizes some things because there's money to pay for it. The USA is one of the richest countries in the world while Nigeria is the Poverty Capital of the World. There's no basis for comparing the two. The State of North Carolina is about the 10th largest GDP in the USA and their 2023 Budget was $30 billion and it ran a budget surplus.

The Federal Budget of Nigeria has not exceeded $40 billion since 1999. The collective TOTAL REVENUE of all federal, state and local governments in Nigeria has been less than $30 billion dollars for at least the past 5 years, probably longer. From that total about 90% has been going to pay INTEREST on the public debt. For at least a decade the government has been borrowing to supplement those revenues, to the point that HALF the budget for 2023 was borrowed money...which was used to pay for everything else, including various subsidies like pilgrimages and N-Power grants and Anchor Borrower Loans.

So Nigeria is BANKRUPT, there's no money to pay ANY subsidy for ANYTHING. In the last 8 years the government solution to this bankruptcy was PRINTING MONEY not backed with any productivity and the result has been massive inflation of prices. Electricity can't be an exception.

When the NIGERIAN PEOPLE learn and demand the implementation of FREE MARKET CAPITALISM, Nigeria will become rich and then the government can afford to pay subsidies. Until then, the people must learn to be realistic in their demands. Or the government can continue printing naira to pay for everything, let's see how far that will go. It appears Nigerians haven't learned their lessons from the past 8 years.

Good Luck to Nigerians
why is Nigeria the poverty capital of the world? What is the disparity between the pay of the minimum wager in USA and its senators compared to that of Nigeria?

I don't know why you people will always look for very primitive alibi to justify why Nigerians must continue to live in perpetual poverty. The senators' wages keep going high in Nigeria, but the citizens must suffer to enjoy tomorrow. Only in Nigeria do we spend billions buying cars for senators all the time, yet whr they are leaving office they go with this cars and other office equipments.

why are the politicians not suffering to enjoy tomorrow? Una go just wake up dey yàn wetin una like. Did you bother to ask yourself if developed countries went through this excruciating pain to get to whr they are today? Only in Nigeria are we told to suffer today and enjoy tomorrow. Since the structural adjustment programme of Babaginda, tell me anytime Nigerians have enjoyed anything, if not sufferings?

If you buy at 500 and the price falls to 300 will you stop selling snd claim you dont have so you dont sell lower?
sometimes these traders make losses like this too. Dey don't need to tell you. Especially those into perishables. Business is not always about profits. Sometimes dey come with huge losses.
BusinessRe: Name One Household Or Food Item Whose Price Has Come Down by Mandate1:
Kevineleven:
They will not come down, let me explain
We are facing a 2 headed hydra,
One is the rising of fuel prices due to the removal of fuel subsidy and the other is Naira depreciation or increase of dollar exchange rate.
The increase of fuel prices is responsible for the rising cost of food items , and dollar to naira exchange rate only affects imported goods.
So the cost of food items will not reduce unless the fuel prices reduces.
God bless you. Most people just talk without giving deeper thought or assessment to what they are talking about. I'm shocked how people are blaming traders for the increase in prices of goods. Dey won't mention the over 300% increase in the price of fuel and dollar. Na traders dem dey blame

But same warehouses hiked food prices they bought when dollar was 1200 when dollar hit 1800, and blamed the dollar for the increase.
you guys should stop arguing just for likes. When you open your shop you do it anyhow, and let's see if you won't close shop in a short time. Business is not charity. If you buy and stocked goods at #500 and in 2 weeks times it's being sold for #800. What will you do? The wise thing to do is sell at #800 just like others so it will be easier to re-stock again. If you sell at #500, how do you buy when u exhaust the little you have?

So is it the making of the government or the greedy people
which greedy people? Do you know what economic stability is? We import almost everything. So as dollar keeps dancing upandan, so will prices of goods neva come down. No businessman wants to bear the unnecessary loss accompanied by economic instability.
BusinessRe: Name One Household Or Food Item Whose Price Has Come Down by Mandate1: 9:56pm On Mar 31, 2024
Blakjewelry:
Nope it's not about dollar rather it is just the Nigerian factor. When I was telling people the hike in price has nothing to do with dollar some fools were arguing silly like they understood what is at play, oya dollar dey trade about 1200 something oya make price come down na.
when you start selling goods or manufacturing you'll say better. For now, this is just your opinion which I think might not be true.

Nigerian musicians are not doing very well in their songs and lyrics these days, for like d past 2 years.

But what I observed is that their video editing and overall production , cinematography and directing has reached very high levels.

I have only seen Bnxn & Ruger - Romeo Must Die and Odumodublvck - 100 Million ft. Tiwa Savage.

Will listen to a few of them now.

My Ratings (based solely on the lyrics, composition and melody. No visuals):
