Please I need candid advice from you all. I brought my prospective husband to the house for my family only for my mum to go against it because he is not a Catholic..

My mum is making it look like I am still young for marriage at 27. How do I convince her because I don’t have issues going to his church.

now my idea is just basic.
if you have access to land and water, why not establish large Greenhouses in your community to provide food. jobs can be created as it is the youth that will be employed. to go a step further, after training the youth for about a year( you might need to build a hostel for them), you can give them interest free loans to establish their own greenhouse based on your own recommendation.

Is it the wife who started the conversation or who? No Nigerian man will be so foolish to talk about that clause because he'll end up disgracing himself the more .

1. there are factors the court will consider before granting the damages including the nature of the wife, her actual value, her character etc.
section 31 of the matrimonial causes act provides for the damages.
2. courts in Nigeria have considered damages for adultery. in cases like Agu vs Agu, Evoroja vs Evoroja amongst others.

1. keep the evidence.
2. don't tell the wife.
3. Since you have proof that your wife is committing adultery,, a. if you can tolerate her, don't divorce her if not get a divorce. get a lawyer to advise you.
4. if getting a divorce you can sue the colleague as the named party. if you are lucky, the Judge may award damages to you.
5. on no account must you arrest him as the offence he committed is purely civil and not criminal? except you stay up north.
6. do not allow the wife to loose her job as it will affect your finances.

1.5 m is fair. if she wants to do extra push the costs on her. be firm. after marriage there is life. and also responsibilities like setting up the home etc. in pre buhari era if you are lucky u may get a lot of household items like generators fridge etc, but not now. so explain to her. you will need more money after the wedding day. if you are a female be extra careful. just ensure you put your buckets etc inside your room. avoid drama and conflict or unnecessary familiarity with him or your coneighbours, once rent expires get a new place.
