You are getting close.
Your first statement is that OBJ withheld Lagos state allocations for 2 years.
Now, you have refined your statement to local govt funds.
It is just one step left to make a true statement.

I could state which specific funds were withheld and which ones were untouched
but I suspect you know the answer. So, no need.
Stop this rigmarole and face facts. Dropping one liners claiming lies is useless to a useful discourse. If you have a point state it. Did OBJ withhold funds meant for Local Government? Yes or no? Which organ of the government was the fund payable to?

Guess what? It is useless and waste of time arguing with you.

If you repeat a lie long enough, it will be accepted as truth by the gullible.

Obasanjo never withheld Lagos state allocations.
You probably know this but lying for lie's sake.
If you don't know, do proper research!
I still don't get you, save the long rhetoric. What exactly is the lie? Obj did not withhold funds due to local govt for 2yrs?

The definition of greed had his state allocation blocked by Obasanjo for yrs because of personal reasons. Tinubu still did not owe a single salary, he immediately brought up all revenue collection agencies that we have in Lagos today. He's very influential, but I don't think he's as greedy as people think.
Lies.
Stop lying.
Which part of it are lies? That Obasanjo did not withhold Lagos State allocations for 2yrs? That Tinubu as Governor stood his grounds, ran Lagos successfully with IGR, and did not owe Salary for a single month ?

I know you wilfully hate Tinubu, but you cannot twist history, except you were in diapers during the said period

Despite the fact that Tinubu is the best definition of greed, I must confess that he carries everybody along. He is an astute politician and his sagacity is top notch.

He still stands tall among his contemporaries.
Yet he's the best definition of greed to you? Maybe it's time to get off clanish-influenced stereotypical opinions and face real life. Drop your self-inflicted hatred for Tinubu and ask what lesson can be learnt from his Strategy of Politics

For the sake of the boy, they should just do the rites. It's their belief that a child born by their daughter belongs to them until she's paid for (like a piece of object). An evil family that can beat their daughter to death will do worse to the son she left behind. For the sake of the boys future, they should just do the appropriate rites and collect the child.
You somewhat have a point...
I must confess I did not put this into consideration

This is so unfair, very heartless parents. Even if you don't want her to marry the boy due to tribal and religious differences, the moment a child became involved th families have become connected. This is what toxic tribal and religious bigotry does to people. I hope they release the baby to the father's family after he has carried out the appropriate marital rites because they're going to put that poor child through worse suffering than his mother endured.
What marital rites? The same family to rejected severally? Except Amaka's parents absconds with the baby, legally speaking, they will be compelled to hand over the baby to Ibrahim. Considering the house I saw in the picture, and lines where they had to request Ibrahim's family to pay for delivery, they are not even in financial position to raise the baby.

Then this is not Igbo land where you get the guy to perform marital rites with a dead person

The first problem is even how this topic is couched. Is there any sin in being a "Yoruba-Muslim"? There are many potential Amaka's parents here on NL.....

It was APC members who went to court to seek constitution amendment to allow buhari rule forever. It was APC house of rep member who floated the ideal first. Beside thus is not the first time buhari will be saying something and doing the exact opposite. Anyways it is immaterial whether he want third team or not. He will not get it. And he can not stand down as his presidency will seize to exist after may 29 2023.
Stop twisting narratives as if we were born yesterday. Before that APC member (whose membership partycouldnot attest to) or the HOR member (the same the party threatened to expel if he did not withdraw his irresponsible suit) went to court, the noise was already in the media as vociferously trumpeted by PDP louts.

Uncle, go and hustle or give your pants over to your wife and stop complaining

He's actually put paid to the failed "Dubai Strategy" of Atiku and his PDP ilks that came of.with that line of baseless stories that had no factual evidence. I quite understand the message the writer is trying to pass, I only wrote that from a subjective POV. Most youths today are lost and truly Naira Marley mirrors their lifestyles perfectly, but like some people argued before, he is not a bad influence to all, some people just enjoy what he sings and don't subscribe to his lifestyle.
About the pastors cargrin it's sad that happened to him but truth is most Nigerian parent needs a lecture on modern day child upbringing(if there is anything like thatsmiley)
I see your point tho.... and on a second thought more like a case of inability to give what you don't have. Reality of life is, parents have done their bits and probably gone or soon to. Youths that wilfully choose destructive paths, later blame every other factors and people will only have themselves at the receiving end of koboko.

Check some aspects
1. Nairamarley argues that if the elders left good legacies, todays generation would have had good values and benefits. That argument sounds plausible on the surface but scratch that....it is simply an entitlement mentality. What's wrong with fixing and making things better for ourselves and those coming behind?
2. I believe that it sparks deceit to justify a bad thing with a bad model. Exuberance of this nature as demonstrated by many cannot be justified under any guise with say for example corruption or police brutality or Fela's moral decadence.
3. This generation stands the risk of difficulty in survival. A generation that may be on the path to self destruction. Nairamarlesque opium will wear out soon, Nairamarley may even go to jail for his indictment in card crimes, 5yrs and all these Marleansike cocaine addicts cannot get their "dose", then what next ?

The title does not correlate to the write-up. I wanted to see how his image fits in with the Nigerian youth. All I saw was a long winded description of the guy and his career. Nigerian writers are losing it.

Honestly he doesn’t represent the educated Nigerian youth. He instead personifies the illiterate and downtrodden. Those have no hope for tomorrow and focus on living today to the fullest, hence heavily consuming marijuana during times they could spend thinking up a business idea.
Unfortunately, you did not understand the focus and objective of the write-up.

The likes of Naira Marley will always exist, it is your job as a parent to know what your kids are watching/listening to. Blaming Naira Marley for some stupid peoples mistake is wrong, there is nothing like bad influence, if a marlian smokes weed it's not because NM smokes weed, it is because he wants to smoke weed. We should learn to stop blaming people for our misfortune.
I AM NOT A MARLIAN grin
I think you misunderstand the writer's intent. The writer is not blaming Nairamarley nor making him the reason for decadence. The writier is actually pointing to Nairamarley as the sign-post of the decadence. In other words, there is a Nairamarley in the average Nigerian youth already.

I believe it is somewhat lazy to adduce issues like this solely to parental upbringing. Several evidence suggests thing are more complicated than that. I read on twitter the case of a Pastor who woke up to the news that his car was among the ones towed to the Police station from Quillox. How come? His 3-kids and nephew who took the car out were supposed to be at the Choir practice (vigil) probably in preparation for Christmas Carol. The odds are the pastor gave them a very good and biblical upbringing. The rest go-figure....

I think you just want to provide alibi from Mars to rebut the writer's arguments which you're done badly at. It is not dishonourable to read again and get the crux of the writer's argument

Marley is not the president who disobeys court order and make nepotism his lifestyle.

Technically, Peller is out of business if he does not offer to relocate that thing. I have a friend who was operating an event center in the heart of GRA Ikeja during Fashola's tenure. The day Lagos State moved in on him, that was it. They did not allow him to operate till date (10yrs running)
