SirVintageCock: How can a registered Nurse migrate and work in Canada? Got a sister who is interested. She can apply as a skilled worker. I'm sure she'll have to re-do some tests though. But it's well worth it. |

princey83: lol. To be honest, if i were you..i would just stay in the UK. America and Canada are not so rosy as people make them look. It takes time to settle in North America. I am talking about 3-5 years. Why do you wanna leave all your achievements in the UK and start all over in North America? To start with, your academic qualifications would mean nothing in both Canada and the US hence you would have to go back to school or pass very difficult licensing exams. The children adjusting to a new environment is another issue you would have to look at. i believe the UK would stabilize. Everything woyld mormalize soon.
Note: I schooled in Manchester, and currently live in Canada. I have experienced both worlds. That's broad. It depends what her profession is. I know many UK people who migrated to Canada and are doing well. She'll have to plan out things for sure. |

justwise: He made a clever decision to jump the ship now before it starts sinking.
The £ has taken a massive blow against $ already, the LEAVE campaigners will spend the rest of their lives enjoying or defending the outcome of today's result.
The main reason for leaving the EU is to cut down on immigration, stop Eastern Europeans from coming in to take jobs and drive down wages.
Norway is not a member of EU but with their passport you can travel to 156 countries just 1 less than the UK, so leaving the EU will not reduce the number of people coming here. Being able to visit with your passport and being able to live and work are two different things. Also they'll always be immigrants who'll drive down wages period. But I get all your points. There's an American politician who said "give me liberty or give me death". Britain can still have a global economy while being on their own. As someone who lives in Canada, I can't imagine Canada and the US being borderless and both countries barely have much differences, let alone like in Europe which has different languages and culture. Furthermore the immigration policy is so tough here than no useless person will get in like that. Not being able to control your own border is insane. |

princey83: Immigration was the biggest determinant in the way the votes were casted. i am suprised cameron expected "remain" to win. I lived and schooled in the UK and i know the resentment people had towards immigrants especially in the northern and deep southern part of the country.
Cameron responded by tightening borders and making the rules tough for non-EU nationals to live and work in britain, but the populace knew that non-eu nationals were no longer the problem. Non-EU were the problem 15 years ago but not any more. The faces they see and accent they hear when being served or attended to at the local stores, malls, fast food restaurant e.t.c were not that of Africans or Asians but eastern europeans and less fortunate western europeans like the spaniards, italians and portugese. Whereas their own born and bred british kids were still living in mum and dad's home without a job hence, It was easy for them to put the blame on EU migrants and wanted out. With the ex pats returning and the UK being blocked from the EU markets, not much will change. I guess they'll find a new group to blame now. |

Lucasbalo: You are correct that the Bigoted Trump will try to do that but America is different from Britain. The electoral system of electing a President doesn't favor a Bigot like Trump and that's why he's going to lose in a landslide on November 8. America is too diverse to elect a confirmed Racist as a President. No way can he come up to 270 electoral votes to win the Presidency. May be so. But did any expect him to go this far ? Don't underestimate him. Cameron underestimated the leave moment as well. |

Lucasbalo: What effect does Britain exiting EU has to do with Trump winning the US Presidency ?. You must know something Americans don't know ?. Their's an anti immigration/Islamic narrative occurring around the world among whites. This vote just proves it. Trump will use this vote to justify his ignorant rants. |

UuzbaGuuzba: OP are you aware that Western country students all collect loans or grants for their University education? That their parents do not and cannot have money to pay for their education? They the students all have to pay back the loan after graduation?
Where as in Nigeria, Your parents pay ALL the money for your tuition.
If you like the Eduction in US/Europe why not go there and study? If you hate the deplorable condition of Nigerian University, why not repair it? Birds fly in the air, pick up blades of grass one at a time and build their nests to lay eggs and sleep at night. Why can't you take care of your own environment? The university you are yabbing was better when you entered it. YOU SPOILT IT. Students in the west don't all collect loans. In fact it's not hard to get free schooling here. But the ones who do take loans, their investment is more likely to pay off than the useless Nigerian degree paid in full. |

If you are financially secure in nigeria, then I see no reason why the US would ever be such a big deal! I would pick nigeria anyday, I just feel like our government needs to do a lot more! Quakertellicus1: Commenting out loud....
The moral of Ms Savage's tale is simple.Always think before you marry.
Any man....and I speak as a man....any man who has children outside of wedlock will not a good husband make. Even if he is ''the man of your dreams''.
Many women have married a guy who is not the gent of their dreams...only to end up with a goldmine of a husband.
And the same goes for men. And you were a virgin before marriage ? |

SmartMugu: Wow. Nice info. Why Quebec? What makes it attract that much government generosity amidst other areas? They pay the highest taxes in North America I believe. If you're single and make a lot of money you won't like that place. Though their are ways to hide taxes. But if you have a family, you'll like that place. |

ayodele234: My brother the Nigerian problem is known to all, I just got tired of people painting America like some paradise. You will visit one day and see for yourself. People struggle real hard here, forget those pictures on social media. Na only here you go see banker close for work and enter second job. Which kind yeye be that na? A single bank job in Nigeria can sustain a family in Nigeria. RN are not even rich like they make it look like, they are just there paying the bills Bros, which kind of people do you hang around ? Seriously ? I'm in Canada and always thought Canada and America's system are the same. Do people in the US typically live way above their means ? A banker here does not work 2 jobs. Believe me, my senior brother is one and lives a very comfortable life. He'd laugh hearing such a thing. RN don't make money? LOL. Now I know you're lying. RN's are such in high demand here, that if you're one, you'll be turning down jobs constantly. You start at 75k and move up to 100k easily. Add experience and overtime, RN's make a lot of money. Listen if your friends aren't successful abroad or cannot budget their money wisely, it's nobody's fault. But don't come here talking nonsense. You're actually embarrassing yourself. http://www.fortmcmurrayonline.com/jobs/job69167/registered.nurse.%e2%80%93.high.level.job.aspx |

TWoods: Being born in America certainly has advantages over anyone born Nigerian (unless your parents are corrupt politicians). Its all well and good saying we should let our kids live in Nigeria till they turn 18 - forgetting that armed robbers, bad roads, poor policing, terrible health services etc. may claim their lives long before then. Well said. Why would any sane parent subject their child to such an environment if they don't have too. Risking their kids lives just to prove a point ? |

ayodele234: And that "I don't want my kids to pass through what I went through is why no son of a successful man gained global recognition" (please name one you know who became successful like their parents). I have seen it first hand with people acting like they better cos they living in comfort. And reading your first comments shows you suffer from this syndrome and that was what caught my attention and made me attack you from the onset. Encourage and lift up your fellow countrymen instead of looking down on them cos you work in some oil rig...and yes I took it personal I don't even know where to start. You're really showing your age. To begin with, it's not where your kids are raised, it's how they are raised. Secondly I've never said or acted like I was better than anyone. Jwill was excited about his trip to America and was telling about the possibilities here. You and the individual brought your bad vibe into this thread claiming how everybody abroad is suffering. While a good amount are, I was just saying if one plans their life properly here and stays away from debt, they'll do very well and live a stress free life. Furthermore, everyone's definition of wealth differs, and just because you and the individual from Atlanta did not make it abroad, it doesn't mean your experience will be the next persons. Seriously, what don't you understand ? |
