Dont let this your good cgpa waste at all... with this gpa the easiest way to have gotten funding is to Write GRE, score high and then apply for masters in the USA and not applying without GRE

Anyway since you still want to apply for phd in the US ... then best to take GRE. If u can study hard for it and write it before the master program start that would be better. Send me a pm if you need help in paying for GRE. You have a good gpa . You should have mentioned the above back in sept and i would have sorted you out based on this gpa for sure

Good day lovely people, please I would be going for my interview soon. The the duration for my Master's degree program is 36months. From what I have seen on this thread so far, everyone going for MSc seems to have a 24month duration. Please is my 36months MSc normally?

Sometimes I begin to wonder if the extra 12months added to the 24months is for internship, because I was admitted for MSc Electrical Engineering.

Please great people, do people get issued visas for 36months duration MSc.

This 36month issue has been giving me worries and I have mailed the school severally, but they keep referring me to their course catalog which is of little help

This is very normal. You can as well finish in 24 months or less. It depends on your academic plans. Your course catalog would show you what total credit hours you need to graduate. This would be most likely 36 credit hours. Now immigration law demands international students must register a minimum of 9 credit hour in a semester to qualify for full-time status. If you did that, you would finish in 4 semesters.

However, graduate assistant, teaching assistant or research assistant are allowed to register 6 credit hours per semester which will lead them to finish the course in 6 semesters (36 months). It is this extra allowance your school is giving you.

Under special plea, your school could even allow you register for 6 credit hours without being a graduate assistant. You can as well go for one-semester internship called co-op. I can give you a list of companies that can employ you under this plan. Lastly, you can register up to 15 credit hour in a semester and finish your course under 18 months if that is your wish. US education is quite flexible. you create your educational plan.

No one can get him a lucrative job. He has to help himself. So all this time that he was teaching part-time, he couldn't improve his skills? Like getting certifications or getting other skills like programming while not working? He's an engineering graduate he can lecture kids for WAEC, JAMB and NECO. Your husband needs to adopt a go-getter attitude. Otherwise even if he is offered a job, he won't advance quickly. It's not an insult. It's just obvious from his laid back way of life.

I'm depressed and down for the past two months now..i just joined my hubby in lagos from Edo state. Instead of him to take me to his apartment, he asked me to go stay with his elder sister and it hasn't been easy. He comes to the sister's place every weekend. I work my hass out on daily basis as if am their house maid and my hubby is so comfortable with it. Each time I bring up the issue of us moving to the apartment given to us by his company he always flair up and get so upset. With a first class degree, these schools are beneath your profile. Can your work on your GRE to be 320? You need to target the first 50 universities in US. Otherwise you need to go for national ranking schools not the regional universities you have up here

When I was young, my mother was made to seat in her room without moving except when nature call for more than a week just so to mourn my dad. She couldn't attend the burial of her husband and had to wear only black for 3 months.

No. You are the one missing it. No one can work to pay tuition in UK. You can only talk about meals. It's even hard for housing. Some fees go as much as 20,000 thousand pounds. The university I attended in UK (Cranfield University) now charge more than 20K. Students are only allowed to work 20 hrs per week. Minimum wage is about 6.50 to 7.50 pounds. Let's do the calculations:

6.50 x 20hrs = 130 pounds per week
That will amount to 520 pounds per month
For 8 months===> 520 X 8 = 4160 pounds. which is equivalent to 2.08million in Nigeria naira.

Assuming these students are staying under the cold bridge and dring water as food, now tell me how they would raise the other 15,000 pounds for their tuition.

Very correct. Edo state is very good in fashion and dressing up. A lot of my friend's from different part of the country that have come to live in Edo state confirmed this. The good part is that these clothes are cheap here. The shirt I will get for 3k in Edo state sells for 12k in PH and even 15k in abuja.

I once went to abuja shop to get a belt. I was told 28k. That belt will cost me 5k in Edo state. So the reason is not far-fetched
