naijaking1: No need playing ostrich.
Igbos not only want Rotimi Amachi kicked out of the govt house, we want him kicked into the ocean!
If he is that bad, why arent igbo demanding his exit directly? Igbos called for Fashola to be impeached over family reunion situation and Fashola could not be as bad as you paint Amaechi, so why the hollering on Fashola but the silence on Amaechi?

To all the South Easterners responding on this thread, here is the bottom line;

1. River State is nothing wihthout Port Harcourt. Does P'Harcourt belong to Ijaw or does it belog to Ibo?

2. Is Ibo the political majority in East or is it Ijaw?

3. When any liberty is trampled in East who defends it?

4. Amaechi is Ibo, are you goig to speak up in his dfense or are you waiting for your political godfather, the Yorubas, to come to his dfense?

All your nonsense about coward this and coward that is bs...here is opportunity to demonstrate bravery against the center..prove you are not COWARD and denounce the center.

Agbameta,

Ive been following this thread and need to say that youve made Lagos proud. Kudos to all contributors on this thread.

How many of you are aware that Lagos State has a motto? Lagos is popularly called the "Show Me State".

It has lived up to its motto as we can see on this thread. Forget Akwa Ibom, I want all the states in the SS/SE combined to challenge Lagos in development and resourcefulness.

Any taker? Please dont drop your hat into the challenge if you have nothnig to show for backup. No promises and awarded contracts - strictly scoring the states based on

works in pipeline;
works in stages of completion;
works completed;
works commissioned

in the current administration and or both currentand immediate past administration.

Whenever the tenets of social order and principles of democracy is tested anywhere in this country, trust that SW will respond in defense of society, There has never been a time in the history of this country since 1914 that the Yorubas have not spoken up or stood up, at great risks and when others are intimidated, to act as the activist and defender of human liberty and right to live.

In the worst instance, the July coup and the war, Yoruba did not shed Ibo blood, even while still grieving the massacre of Yoruba sons and a daughter in the hands of cold blood Igbo murderers just six months earlier. A Yoruba Governor stood up with his life against what was wrong and ended up killed along with his Igbo guest. Yoruba leaders sent wire and ordered that all Ibos must be rounded up and deported, before their predator come after them and spill their blood in Yorubaland. When Biafra attacked Yoruba soil, the same voices that shielded them from predators also called for a defense of the soil against Ibo takeover. When the war ended, these leaders were also responsible for ensuring that every returning Ibo with "proof" of property or investment got their entitlement returned to them in full.

What can be more honorable and admirable than a stand for justice and fairness even in one's own discomfort ?

Similarly, post the war, whether in military or civilian governments Yoruba remained the conscience and custodian of social order for this country. There are too many to itemize, let's fast forward.

Ibos are redefining their political identity and space within a changing awareness and ideology in the Eastern quarter and they are hoping, at most, that their legacy political majority is still intact sufficiently that they can carry everyone else in that quarter along with them in an emerging restructuring along economic independence and political self-sufficiency, particularly given the sour history with neighbors and against the tide of a newly discovered political brat - the Ijaws! Therefore, it is imperative that when the honor of political institutions are tested, SE leaders ought to fit in and demonstrate a resolve to lead and carry their quarter of the nation.

A Goverment House was besieged and the democratically elected Governor barricaded from entering his abode, denied access and right of way into seat of Government; this happened right in that quarter of the nation where Ibos are the supposed political kings...yet, not a single outrage from the Governors of SE. Can this sort of thing happen in Yorubaland without a massive blow out on radio, tv, news print and march onto public squares? Never!

Will the real Eastern leaders please speak up!

Lagos streets have been lit since late 1800s when electricity was brought in to replace oil lamps. Lagos streets remained lit ever since, no darkness, at least until your refugee brothers from East trooped in and started vandalizing electrical installations and stripping the infrastructures for metal to fabricate fake spare parts.

Foreign AffairsRe: President Obama's Speech To Americans On Syria Crisis by MayorofLagos(m): 9:08am On Sep 11, 2013
Built2last: You nailed it bro. Russia has become the laudable voice of reason. Obama telling us that he has told the congress to postpone votes on air strike is hiding under the guise of Russian moves. America will dare not strike Syria when England and France is not behind them. the aftermath will be catastrophic. and this they know. Its even worse for America when Germany, Russia, Japan, China and Iran are in one block. Syria is a no go area for America till further notice.
Putin's initiative is a comfortable exit internationally, however, at home its a different story. Stakeholders will get more belligerent and adamant on pushing the boundaries and the rebels to test Assad. Expect daring provocations from the rebels going forward.

Foreign AffairsRe: President Obama's Speech To Americans On Syria Crisis by MayorofLagos(m): 8:49am On Sep 11, 2013
When this started two years ago, it was cheered by America, it was called Arab Spring.

America's moral conscience should have risen to the situation then and they intervene to mediate an agreeable outcome, long before a peaceful protest escalated to what is now a full blown civil war. America has championed the Middle East Peace Process for decades. This confrontation could have been adopted into the process on an expanded policy.

Errors were committed from the outset and the American foreign policy in ME has become victim of a miscalculated forecast. America should find a face saving exit and scale down on its ME rhetorics.

PoliticsRe: If Pastors Were To Contest The Next Lagos Guber Poll by MayorofLagos(m): 8:04am On Sep 11, 2013
Who are these evil spirit people wishing bad on my state?

So you have a pastor who is incapable of running a church scandal-free but flashes $5000 suits and rolex watches and private jets, sleeps indiscriminately with congregants and you want them to rule my state?

If pastors ought to rule in any state it should be states that are christian-only. Lagos and indeed all Yoruba states have religion diversity. The idea of a christian pastor will fit adequately for SE and SS states.
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Borno & Yobe From A JTF Nairalander. by MayorofLagos(m):
13volts: Thanks for your observations, as regard the Damaturu Prison, the area was bombed and all the inmates released. Right now, that place is a sub camp for JTF personnel posted along the road, as all Nigeria prison service personnel are not working in Yobe.
When ATS was established in Yobe, they had no functional office, the state government gave them one of the apartment blocks to serve as a temporary office, after it was attacked by a suicide bomber, they moved to the next block of which they still currently use as there main office.
I do not dispute that the Prison grounds was attacked, I want your credibility to stand on its own merit. It fails that merit when an image submitted as evidence of terror may indeed have been a destruction in a fire accident. During cold months in the North people build multi-purpose outdoor fire stove for heat and it is not uncommon to see people also brew tea or cook soup on these stoves. After use it is doused with water to extinguish the embers and ashes and prevent fire accidents. Often times the strong harmattan wind helps to blow and spread these hot embers and this in turn can cause an inferno. Northern States have a ver high incidence of fire accidents in the harmattan months. This van was ruined from a fire accident and not from an ammo assault. You can also see deep rust on the head panel of the cage. This happened because the paint lacquer protecting the metal had melted under the heat and exposed the steel panel to the elements. Notice the wheels in front compared to the rear, there is no mistaking this was a fire damage. The bottomline is, as I stated, there is no verifiable means to validate this report, therefore your pictures and your report must be fool-proof. There are people here that will look critically at these reports and submit a conclusion that may call your hardwork and service into question.

On the building and location, ATS in Damaturu was a formation in response to bokoharam. Damaturu was not attacked untill 2011. So ATS was setup there post that attack. Damaturu had a police headquarters, MOPOL division, Army barracks.

Are you saying policy makers omitted the Police Hq, MOPOL division, military premise and housed the ATS, an Anti Terrorism Squad, a strike force, in a residential building? If that were true, then ATS acted as a magnet attracting suicide bombers into residential communities. Not that they could not have gone there to bomb independently but in this instance govt was an enabler of terrorism and liable. Also, how did boko got information ATS was housed there? A bad judgement in policy making. Your report here, if true, gives ground for class action suit against government. Your reporting have consequences. Its an usual position to be therefore it carries unusual responsibility to be totally transparent and not embellish anything. wink

PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Borno & Yobe From A JTF Nairalander. by MayorofLagos(m): 8:21pm On Sep 10, 2013
13volts,

Great job taking the risk and time to ride in company of JTF to these dangerous places, you have done a very commendable job. I see almost 9 pages now full of praises for your reporting. In addition, there are close to 150 or more people viewing your post. Again, great work of reporting and an admirable sense of selfless service.

Are you absolutely sure that what you are claiming happened with these pictures are the truth, nothing is propagande here and you confirm without any error of mind that you were embedded with the militaryJTF on these operations?

I ask this because even though Im impressed with your work the impacts of what's to follow what you report here must not be overlooked. There is no other verifiable source, you are it!

Some of the images in your report need to be conciled with their occassioned event. Example, the prisoner transfer vehicle inside the Damaturu Prisons appear on first look to have been damaged in an assault but on closer inspection it should be argued that this vehicle was destroyed by an unitended and unconnected incidence to terrorism; there is a fire stove right next to it. With knowledge of reckless and indiscipline in security agencies it will not be difficult to give a forensic explanation, anecdotally, on how this accident may have happened.

Also on the picture first reported as ATS - Anti Terrorism Squad - building, a residential community complex was shown later on and in which the structural design and facade of the building units are identical.

You will admit that JTF units are in posession of tactical top secret information on this mission, in fact we can label this assault mission a national security interest.

Let's move away from the images and ask what qualifies you into these positions of access ? How were you vetted? It would be a security breach to embed the wrong person with JTF, would you not agree? Also, were you insured before taking this life risking position?
Knowing that as a first hand source on the scene of these missions your images could become National archive materials, why did you not take the care to seal them?
