OLAADEGBU:
It is surprising that you have now suddenly become wise after swallowing the red herring viaro threw at you hook, line and stinker.  Egypt was specifically mentioned where you quoted him so my advise to you is to take what he says with a pinch of salt.  I know his argument suits you because it fits your convictions that the Bible and God cannot be trusted since you don't believe in the existence of God, so enjoy your scoffing while it lasts.
No particular kingdom was exactly mentioned when the Mythical Satan was said to have taken Jesus to the mountain top and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth. . . .

You cannot see the evidence as long as you see through those evolution goggles and where did you get the idea of 10 men left on earth? you better go to viaro to update you and that's if he knows any better.  As for your other concerns see my post to wirinet and that's if you can see it.
The problem is that your post NEVER address anything at all. . . .I asked you to tell me how Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe which measures the age of the age as billions of years was wrong and you referred me to some non-sense apologetics from answers in genesis which did not even address any thing at all but only said that the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe agrees with the biblical account without even saying how. . .They did not refute or show why it was wrong at all. . .Ken Ham and his other friend were just speaking without making ANY sense at all. . . .If you want to believe your myths based on faith and ascribe it to the supernatural fine. . .Stop trying to use science to support your unsupportable myths. . . .Science does NOT agree with any of your myths. . .If you pretend that science agrees with your myths then you have to provide scientific evidence to support your mythical claims. . .Lying through your teeth as you and your mentors(Ken Ham and Kent Hovind) have been doing all the time only shows how extremely desperate you guys are to rationalize your myths and fables. . . .

"And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.  All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died." (Gen.7:21-22).

Noah's Flood was much more destructive than any 40 day rainstorm ever could be.  Scripture says that the "fountains of the great deep" broke open.  In other words, earthquakes, volcanoes, and geysers of molten lava and scalding water were squeezed out of the earth's crust in a violent, explosive upheaval.  These fountains were not stopped until 150 days into the Flood, so the earth was literally churning underneath the waters for about 5 months!  The duration of Flood was extensive, and Noah and his family (not 10 as you are made to believe) were aboard the Ark for over a year.
If you guys will accept this myth based on faith according to what your scriptures tell you then FINE. . .when you leave the realm of faith and start pretending that what we see around or what we have observed through the scientific process agrees with your myths then you guys are asking for trouble. . . . .Where is your scientific  evidence to show that there were Volcanic eruption and earth quakes through out the planet about 4500 years ago? Scientific evidence pls. . . Quoting from your book of myths will not help you here. . .

Relatively recent local floods, volcanoes and earthquakes, though clearly devastating to life and land are tiny in comparison to the worldwide catastrophe that destroyed "the world that then existed" (2 Peter 3:6).  All land animals and people not on board were destroyed in the flood waters and billions of animals were preserved in the great fossil record we see today.
And your scientific evidence to support this mythical claim is?. . . .Why is this mythical explanation not thought in science classes across the world as the evidence for what we see around?

Thanks Mazaje for adding this into the Mix.

So how were Noah and his crew plus the Animals able to survive at over 8,900m above sea level, since there would be insufficient oxygen. You cannot climb to the top of Mount Everest without an oxygen mask.
What's up brother? I am really interested in seeing what scientific system of measurement OLAADEGBU uses which proves that Mount Everest is less than 4500 years old. . . .

OLAADEGBU:
Yes.  Exactly my point.  These catastrophic plate tectonics explain flood geology.  Even though the Bible does not directly mention this however, if the continents were once joined together, as suggested by Gen. 1:9-10, and are now apart, then the only possibility is the continental division and "sprint" during the Flood.  If you are interested in knowing more then click Here.
There is no where where the bible remotely suggest that the continents were once joined together . . .That is your own assumption. . .When bible talks about the earth, it mostly refers to the earth as the land known to the writers of the bible as can be seen in Exodus 10:15 where the Bible clearly reports that the locust  that plagued Egypt covered "the whole earth". When the satan allegedly took Jesus to the top of the mountains it was written that he showed him all the kingdoms of the earth and promised to give it to him if he would bow down and worship him. So its clear that they writers of the bible refer to the land, they know when referring not to the entire continents as you will like to have us believe. By the way where is your scientific evidence that proves that the continents were together as a single body 4500 years ago If we are to go by your assumptions? I am not interested in going through your propaganda site called answers in genesis. . . .

You ask for evidence?  "For this they willingly forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water" (2 Peter 3:5-6)
And  this is the evidence for the flood? Please. There's not enough water to cover all the Earth, for one.  . . . Two there is no genetic "bottleneck" evincing less than ten individual humans 4,500 years ago. . . . Three it would be physically impossible to fit all the species of life on Earth into a wooden boat with one window and have any of them survive. . . . . Also, if you add in the fact that there is no way the Earth would even be habitable right now if all known volcanic activity occurred in the past 6,000 years, well . . .If a global flood happened and covered the highest land mass on Earth, the flood waters would have pushed all of our breathable atmosphere into space without a scientific possiblity for recovery. There's no evidence of any catastrophic, massive loss (and equally massive gain) of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc. within the pass 100,000 years.

And only having 10 people left on Earth, with two of each "kind" of animal, it would be impossible to repopulate. You can't repopulate millions of cows over 6,000 years with only two cows. You can't repopulate anything with only two cows.

Evidence of Noah's Flood can be seen all over the earth today.  Look at the seabeds to the top of the mountains, the physical features of the earth's terrain clearly indicate a catastrophic past, from canyons and craters to coal beds and caverns.  Some layers of strata extend across continents, revealing the effects of a huge catastrophe.
I can't believe that you are saying this. . .So canyons and coal beds are evidence for a global flood eh? grin grin grin. I laugh in Yoruba. When will you guys stop your ridiculous propaganda? grin grin

Pls tell me how did this incised meander form in less than 4500 years?

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/GooseNeckStateParkPanorama.jpg/800px-GooseNeckStateParkPanorama.jpg

Goosenecks State Park

The earth's crust has massive amounts of layered sedimentary rock, sometimes miles deep!  These layers of sand, soil and material that are mostly laid down by water, were once soft like mud, but they are now hard stone.  Encased in these sedimentary layers are billions of dead things (fossils of plants and animals) buried very quickly.  The evidence all over the earth is staring at everyone in the face and you can see them if you replace your evolutionary spectacles for the Christian worldview. tongue
Are you kidding me? There is absolutely NO evidence at all for a global floodgrin grin. . .

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/ee/Exhumedchannel.jpg/800px-Exhumedchannel.jpg

An exhumed river channel is a ridge of sandstone that remains when the softer flood plain mudstone is eroded away. The process begins with the deposition of sand within a river channel (typically a meandering river) and mud on the adjacent floodplain. Eventually the channel is abandoned and over time becomes buried by flood deposits from other channels. Because the sand is porous (grain-to-grain contact leaves spaces between), groundwater flows more easily through the sand than through the mud of the floodplain deposits.

Minerals (typically calcium carbonate) can cement the grains together converting the loose sand into sandstone. Meanwhile, pressure from overlying sediments compresses the floodplain mud converting it to mudstone. Millions of years later, erosion can remove the softer, less cemented mudstone and leave the more resistant sandstone as a linear ridge. Thus, the local landscape where these occur is an inverted topography: what was previously low is now high, and vice versa. Exhumed channels are important indicators for ancient stream flow direction.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhumed_river_channel
So what we see is basically a fossilized river.

I'd love to hear your explanation as to how this formed in the Flood, or in less than 4500 years. Or maybe your new best buddy kolaxy can help you. . . . .

OLAADEGBU:
The mountains you see today were formed only towards the end of and after, the Flood, if not can you explain to me the fossil-bearing, water deposited layers that forms the uppermost parts of Mt. Everest?
Do you know anything about plate tectonics at all? Why are you asking these kind of dumb questions? Mountain ranges are formed by uplifting tectonic plates moving underneath other plates. Some mountain tops were once at the bottom of the sea.

BTW, there is absolutely no geologic evidence for a global flood, so you can strike that one off your list.

Go here to learn about plate tectonics and subduction zones.

http://www.platetectonics.com/book/page_

"Mountains form due to plate tectonics. They are literally the result of the earth being pushed upwards and together, like creases in the earth's surface. Take a piece of cloth, grab either side of it lengthwise and start pushing them together -- now imagine that same process happening in the earth's plates. Fossils that were buried on the ocean floor were shifted along with the rock, and locked in place when the mud from the floor of the ocean condensed into rock.

Once again, this is not proof of a global flood. Fossils couldn't find their way into solid rock unless they've been there for millions of years, not several thousand. The fossils were already present before Everest came to its full size and position. There is absolutely no way that they could have have been embedded in the rock after it formed, even if there had been a global flood."

Point well taken. But i insist that you are still being limited in presuming that nothing at all could cause such a deluge.

Can you state with certainty that you posess ALL knowledge about ALL possible configurations of the earth's systems.

Have you considered what massive siesmic shifts could do to the sea level worldwide?

Are you not aware that exactly such massive seismic shifts are supposedly the cause of the disappearance of the fabled land of Atlantis?

Sienmic shifts. Can you say with certainty that massive movements of the land under the sea are not able to change global sea levels?

You know i dont give any hoot about any flood, i am just appalled that people can be so presumptuous as to think that they know all the possible configurations of anything that could happen on earth.

You are being exactly presumptuous.
Do you have any scientific evidence that supports a global flood? What exactly are you saying? huh huh

One word for all the mis-information . . .

Book of Genesis

Man was created with the ability to make a choice in the Book of Genesis.

Chapter 1

26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Chapter 2

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
-----------
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
--------
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Chapter 3

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
--------
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

CHECK THE HIGHLIGHT POINTS FOR YOUR FREE-WILL IN THE CREATED MAN.[/size]
Your post is truly laughable. . . . according to the story Adam & Eve did not even know right from wrong until they ate the magic fruit. According to the story the bible god allowed a tempter who happened to be his worst enemy to influence them before they were magically imbued with the knowledge of right vs. wrong. So how does that story make any sense to you? The bible god decided to punish adam and eve without them even knowing the difference between right and wrong. . .This remains one of the most useless stories in the bible. . . . .

Lets assume for the sake of this disccusion that the myth was a true story. . . Would any of us have made the same mistake as Adam? If your answer is yes, then this means that the god of the bible made a flawed product when creating humans; if your answer is no, then why should people be subject to Adam's punishment? huh huh

Why should people even accept the Adam and Eve story as literal history especially since it is an obvious copy from other ancient near eastern creation myths that predate it. Plus the story is filled with nonsense which defies common sense. . . . . .Your free will concept with regards to the Adam and Eve story makes no sense at all. . .

If a child sees it, it may appear to him simply as an aeroplane.

The child is also right in that perception.

If the prophet Elijah saw one, it is very real for him, and his reality, that it is a spinning ball of fire.

Have you stopped to ponder the fact that the prophet is actually perfectly right in his perception and description - because -

  1. It is spinning

  2. It is round, and thus ball-shaped and

  3. It emmits fire/ exhaust/ light etc.

Thus you have absolutely no way of saying that it was not a spinning ball of fire, because that is effectively and actually what it was!

I am certain that with this, you will be more circumspect in hastily presuming that the ancient writer is lying ignorantly.

In this recall the analogy of 10 blind men groping an elephat and each describing it differently. We are only blind men, you see, and our descriptions will all be imperfect, but partly true.
The writers of the bible say that stars will fall into the earth when the earth will come to an end, They also said as toneyb ponited out that stars fought alone side them in battles, I am letting their writings speak for themselves. . . . .No need adding conjectures and maybe's to rationalize something that I know is not true. . . Elijah saw a flying UFO and assumes it is a flying ball of fire when it is not on what basis should people believe that he truly knows what he is talking about?

Some people once thought that the rainbow was the neckless that their goddess wears around here neck which she displays when ever she is happy? On what basis should people believe this story and assume the writer that wrote such thoughts down knows what he or she is talking about?
