this images are not the realities in nigeria, they constitute less than 2% of the the infastuructural realities in nigeria i dont want to sound like a pessimist and i will definately like to see most parts of nigeria look like that but what i want to state here is that we have to move according to precedence. building and painting without any particular purpose in mind wont help us all. |
Hi to all Pls lets not all be misinformed here, there was no were it was said that all students including the non muslims should wear the hijab. it only stated that both government and private schools female students ought to wear the veil . the statement did'nt state categorical if the wearing of the hijab includes the non muslims. The moslems have the right to live according to the tenets of islam and we have no right to dictate and tell them how to live their lives. Some body made mention of schools forcing their girls to cut their hairs with out them wanting to do so, why arent we complaing and talking about that cos that to me is worse than wearing the hijab why should a girl be made to cut her hair compulsarily? am a northern non muslim and the way some members of this forum get hyped up over trivial issues relating to religion is very ludacrioius to me. lets learn to be tolerant and let people live their lives as the want to. Until when the government comes out and say that all the girls should wear the hijab including the non muslims we have nothing to say against them. i feel we are taking this a little to far and to me its wrong. |
I will still say it again and again money is extreamly important in a marriage setting with out it a marriage will crumble, not necessarily through divorce but there wont be happiness and there will be too much bitterness. |
Can You Do This? A 52-year-old Greek mother has given birth to her two grandsons, after getting legal permission to be a surrogate mother for her daughter. Agence France Presse said a gynaecologist, Charalambos Batakis told journalists in Crete on Friday that the woman, who was implanted with embryos from her daughter’s fertilised eggs by her son-in-law, gave birth to twin boys in good health and weighing 2.5 kilos (5.5 pounds). In July, last year, a Greek court gave permission for the woman to carry out a surrogate birth because her daughter was unable to carry a pregnancy to term due to health problems. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20070505318521 |
Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton has been jailed for 45 days after being found guilty of violating her probation for a drink-driving conviction. A Los Angeles judge ruled she must start her sentence on 5 June and has no prospect of an early release. Ms Hilton told the judge she was very sorry and that she would "pay complete attention to everything" from now on. The socialite said she did not know her licence had been suspended when caught driving without headlights in February. According to papers filed in Los Angeles' Superior Court, Ms Hilton was stopped by California Highway Patrol officers on 15 January and informed she was driving on a suspended licence. The 26-year-old then reportedly signed a document acknowledging she was not allowed to drive. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6624223.stm |

Marriage and children to me are highly over rated, a man should have fun and enjoy his life with out too much complications. to all the bachelors in the house marry only if you really want to if not have fun and enjoy the few years you have to spend here on earth with out some nossy wife and kids comlicating things for you. |
You can be as short and as hairy as a Chimpanzee but once your money is as tall as the twin towers in Malaysia the girls will come running after you. |
i give them my support and i just hope they do well. |

Nigeria's Supreme Court has ruled that impeached Plateau State governor Joshua Dariye be reinstated immediately. His impeachment last November by eight of Plateau's 24-member state house of assembly was illegal, the court said. The judgement has sparked rejoicing in Jos among supporters of Mr Dariye, who has been on the run since last year. Mr Dariye skipped UK bail three years ago, after money-laundering claims. He was accused of embezzling nearly $9m of public funds. It is not clear when Mr Dariye will return to Plateau State capital, Jos. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6599133.stm |

FOUR days after it was conducted, the results of last weekend's National Assembly elections in Ondo State were yesterday released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Curiously, the winning streak of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continued so well in the state, that it even won a senatorial district that it did not field a candidate for. The result of the election, released by INEC's Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Olabimpe Awoniyi, indicated that PDP won all the seats both at the Senate and the House of Representatives. According to a statement issued by Awoniyi, there will be a rescheduled election into Akure South state House of Assembly in Constituency 11 in the area. There will also be a rescheduled election into the Owo/Ose Federal constituency on Saturday, April 28. The Senate result showed that Dr. Bode Olajumoke of the PDP, who polled 137,736, votes, won in Ondo North senatorial District, followed by Labour Party candidate, Prince Nekan Olateru-Olagbegi with 20,147 votes, while Mr. A.O. Abodare came third with 16,969 polls. http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/news/article03 |
It would be a big lie to say that OBJ has not achieved anything as a president but his failures far out weigh his achievements, Judging by the amount of money he has recieved and by precedence OBJ should have done a lot better than what he has done. I see no reason why he has failed to revive the power(electricty) sector, or roads, this infastuructures are not supposed to be the way the are at all. with the available resources i will have to admit that he has failed totally in those aspects. The EFCC is a very very good step in the right direction even though OBJ himself has undermined and sabotaged their efforts but i still believe subsequent governments will use it for the betterment of the people. if am to score OBJ out of 10 i will give him 2 out of 10, i know it is'nt easy but he definately should have done more for the people. |

While Yar'Adua's legitimacy is indeed questionable, he is the best candidate and his less-than-perfect victory should be accepted by Nigerians as a compromise for peace, security, and contuity of economic reforms.well said |
