These commercial banks are very lazy, since our mumu government (most especially previous ones from IBB to GEJ) gave them an easy way of making fat profits. Government sold bonds and T-bills to these lazy Commercial/financial/security/equity institutions. They would rather invest in Govt bonds than service the real economy by giving loans to local manufacturers/producers/Entrepreneur; because of the great interest rates and low risks associated with them

So invariably, our commercial banks are just banks for the government and the lazy rich who just want their monies to keep increasing with little or no efforts

If these Commercial banks are made to do the real work they are supposed to do, the real sector will get the boost it needs because apart from providing capitals (loans etc) they will also offer pro-bono services such as risk assessment and management etc. This would increase the chances of business survival. At the end, their loan is repaid, and the business is sustainable and waxes stronger

Now is the time for real work.

If you look at the bold parts of your comment very well, you will the sense I'm trying to make out of it, that if the non-interest banking had been encouraged, they would've taken care of all the points you raised there. Because in the non-interest banking model, there's month room for laziness, no moral harzard, and banks are supposed to be out there helping the real sector in an arrangement called mudarobah - risk and profit sharing.

I have been driving round town in my Kia Sorento for the past one year now without one single valid document. Just like the OP, I know every spot where FRSC and VIOs are in Lagos. But I don't fear Police, na money them that one go chop. The last time I was arrested somewhere in Ajegunle, na money I give them.

Do I really blame these politicians or should we really blame them if they are strategising to return to power while we, the citizens, only protest on social media? it is their job to strategise on how to return to power, that's their profession, they have no other job. Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to spare the life on Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, the General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly.

Leader of the group, Chief Udo Udeogaranya, made the appeal after the Supreme Court threw out Rev King’s appeal against the death sentence passed on him in 2007 by a Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Joseph Oyewole. The group begged President Muhammadu Buhari to “commute the sentence and grant him pardon as Nigeria stands to gain nothing by shedding blood.”

“This plea is premised on the ground that many Nigerians still hold Rev. Ezeugo as their spiritual leader even in various prisons and that the initial trial in Lagos as purportedly put forward by his lawyer Mr. Olalekan Ojo and published by national dailies was a miscarriage of justice in which the lawyer made certain points that demanded a second thought.

“Ojo argued that his client did not commit the crime and was not at the scene of the incident.
“He insisted that the deceased, Ann Uzoh, had in two statements she made after the incident and before her death, stated that she got burnt in a generator accident and that the cleric was not responsible for her injuries.
“Ojo said the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, had tendered statements which stated that Ezeugo was not responsible for the burns that led to Uzoh’s death.

“He alleged that the trial Judge refused to admit in evidence, the statements he said exonerated Ezeugo of the crime.
The lawyer further contended that “had those ‘vital exhibits’ been admitted rather than expunged by the trial judge, they would have operated to cast serious doubt on the case of the prosecution.
“He maintained that Justice Oyewole’s refusal to admit the exhibits in evidence ‘occasioned a great miscarriage of justice’ against his client.”

This Igbo group are not just funny but they are silly at the same time. Why? Here are the reasons, from the bold parts:

You are begging someone to "spare the life...," you made the appeal after the Supreme Court threw out Rev King’s appeal against the death sentence, that he should be pardoned, and in this same breath you are still castigating the Supreme Court judgement as a miscarriage of justice. Which means you do not agree with the judgement but you are just begging for mercy.

The sensible thing to have done is to have agreed with the judgement and simply ask that Justice should be tampered with Mercy, Period! But typically of their type, they are still grand standing.

I have always engaged @benmurraybruce on twitter in a not too pleasant manner, in recent, simply because of the way he gas been attacking every policy of this government since its inception. I was of the view that instead of attacking the government, why not give us your alternative options or opinions on how you think things should work? For me, I think that's what opposition is all about, to give us an opposing and alternative views.

However, I've noticed that that's what the senator had been doing in recent times. He has stopped whining on twitter like a cry baby and have allowed reason to prevail. I showed him pepper.

These are the type of leadership thinking we ask from you senator. And where we have difference of opinions, it's only normal that we iron it out. God bless the senator.

I can't remember the last time I made any comments on nairaland but this your comment drew me out of my shell. Honestly, If there's another life I don't pray to come to Africa again. I was at the MBA School, Yaba, today, Saturday 13th Fe., 2016 to complete my registration. You need to see how frustrated we were, I mean those of us that were there for registration.

1. The MBA Student pasted a notice on their door that payment to the Association is from 10am-2.30pm, Saturdays inclusive. Till I left there around 15minutes past 1pm, they were no where to be found. That one no pain me o, afterall, I don't it's going to stop them from signing my form.

2. The PG Cordinator or whoever also pasted that registration starts from 10am on Saturdays. My guy and I got there some minutes before 10am, hoping that there would have been a lot of people on the waiting list. Fortunately, we met only one woman there , waiting.

10am, nobody in sight; 11am, 12pm, 1pm the same. It was until around 1.15pm that a lady now spoke to someone on the phone, that one now said we should drop our papers, that is if we wish, and come back for it on Monday.

Now, this is a University, a School that trains on people on how to master business administration. I leave the rest for you to judge.

After, we will be abusing and coursing those at the top, not knowing that we do worst in our various places of work.

A popular Multipurpose Staff Cooperative Society in a leading Nigerian University in the South-Western part of the country will sooner than later be inviting submission of proposals from suitably qualified professional application service providers and information technology vendors to develop, design and launch application software for the cooperative accounting process, and to also design, host and launch a new corporate web site in accordance with the requirements to be set forth.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RfP) is to solicit proposals from various candidate organizations, conduct a fair and extensive evaluation based on criteria listed herein, and select the candidate who best represents the direction the Cooperative Society wishes to go.
