There was a law suit on this,if i remember correctly? What was the outcome? |
were you expecting her to say anything else? |
i am perplexed at the comparison with developed countries. the residents in the Lekki axis are not idiots who do not appreciate PPP and hate tolls. there is no govt presence in the axis and the people are being imprisoned in there houses. tell me where else this happens? Why did they not toll Bordillon? almost as importantly, the whole LCC arrangement looks fishy from afar. This Lekki-Epe road will be a fish bone in BRF's throat. |
pro01:I am not sure GAME in Palms is doing well enough and i assume the new owners (Walmart) maybe planning a new strategy for further development. |
AjanleKoko:Damascus experience. |
GAR3TH:guy your argument does not make much sense. I pay 25% of my salary as tax and i do not earn anything spectacular. i know over 5 persons on this site who pay almost 40% tax,all resident in Nigeria. What do we get for the tax we pay?absolutlely nothing. i dare you to mention one thing i get from the tax i pay. i generate my own power, water, and security. I pay for health care and pay my kids school fees. If i live in Lekki, i will probably be providing my own roads. then the moment i step out of Lekki, the govt tolls the govt road leading out. The way those outside the country go on about taxes, you would think working class Nigerians do not pay tax. We pay. The problem is that their is no product for the taxes we pay. that is the crux of the matter. billions were spent rehabilitating Bourdillon. Why was it not tolled? why was it not built with PPP? There is something fishy about this Lekki project. it just does not smell right. |
Much more than Gbawe, i want to hear from Prof. Osinbanjo. How such Godly, intelligent and upright men can be foot soldiers for a questionable character like BAT is what bothers me. I recently heard the good prof tell a story of how BRT was chosen by BAT. The essence of that story does not tally with the present happenings in the Lekki axis. Why is it too difficult to find proof of a competitive bid for that road project that LCC won? Why was the govt so desperate that it seems to have given LCC both the 'yam and the knife'? 30 years for an already built road?? how many years will they be given for a brand new road? We have been so battered by bad leadership that we have placed seemingly decent leaders on such a pedestal that we are unwilling to question a set up that just does not make sense and seems skewed towards the benefit of LCC to the detriment of the populate. Imagine if it was Ibori or Uduaghan or even Akala doing this Lekki fiasco. Lagosians reaction would have been very different. |
I kinda miss Gbawe though. . . ![]() I honestly do.
![]() |
Kobojunkie:thanks for the doc. a quick perusal leads to the conclusion that it is for the tolling system. What of the road project itself? |
any clues on the bidding process of this contract? how did LCC emerge the winner? |
to the best of my knowledge, Artiste A gives the master of his album to a guy at Alaba, collects X amount of money and the guy at Alaba produces Y hundred thousand copies of the album and floods the street with it. Music lovers buy the album on the street (in traffic) from the foot soldiers of the Alaba guy. Piracy? what piracy? rather than piracy, i think we lack proper and effective distribution channels? |
define pirated music within the Nigerian context? |
Nothing impresses me like good service. This is an unpaid advert for an online fragrance store i found on Bella Naija, i used them and i am very satisfied at the service. I got a mail offering discounts this Xmas. They deliver to your door in Lagos. Very extensive collection of fragrances. www.upscalecollections.com |
March man:I beg to differ. Mallam Abdullahi held a lot of promise in my view but he has not done much as the youth minister. After speaking plenty grammar, not much came out of the ABSU rape case. A case that was a perfect opportunity to show his onions with all the publicity that case garnered. What exactly has he done about NYSC apart from making the usual noises we are used to? I expected him to design and initiate a new community service program that will be benefitial to the society and the average Nigerian graduate. NYSC is an expired idea and does not serve any useful purpose apart from providing cheap labour to banks and MNC. I hope he will not just speak plenty grammar while our sports continues to slide down the drain. |
AjanleKoko:Are they all females? |
Aall of una weydey complain about slippers,no go anywhere near Down Under o! those guys wear bathroom slippers 24/7 during summer. even to church. |
AjanleKoko:I hear Alomo improves your ability in this. Besides, the uniform is very affordable. |
what is the update on Pogba's contract talks? I hear he has not been anything special this season unlike last year (according to folks who see reserve games). anyone seen Reserve gamesand can comment further? |
What is ulcerative colitis? Dr Ian Arnott is a leading specialist in ulcerative colitis. He is a consultant gastroenterologist at the Western General hospital in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians' associate director for the UK-wide, NHS-funded inflammatory bowel disease audit. "Ulcerative colitis can be a very disabling condition and leaves people weak, tired, frustrated and lacking energy. It can change people's lives completely. They can't be very far from the toilet so aren't able to go out very much. Patients tell me that when they go to a nearby town or city, they know exactly where every toilet is, because they often get very little warning about needing to go to the toilet. It can mean that people have accidents with their bowel motions. It's an embarrassing condition — it's a difficult subject to talk to people about. "It is a serious inflammation of the large bowel, which is better-known as the colon. Where it should be pink, smooth and nice it becomes red, weepy and unhappy — it looks like you've taken the skin off your knee. The main symptoms are diarrhea, blood in stools, stomach pains and feeling rotten. It goes up and down. You will have good periods of remission when you feel normal — that can be a month or even a few years — and bad periods when you feel dreadful and can be forced to go to the toilet six, eight or ten times a day around the clock, including two or three times a night. If you can imagine having food poisoning and that going on for weeks on end, rather than days, that's what it's like. "It's quite a common condition. If you take ulcerative colitis together with Crohn's disease, which has similar symptoms, they are known together as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). One in 200 people in the UK develop IBD, so around 300,000 have that. Young people aged between ten and 40 get it. "It's not a curable condition unless you have an operation. With surgery you take the colon out completely. People often need an external bag to collect their faeces, though some people get an internal pouch which lets them go to the toilet normally. So you wouldn't have surgery unless you had to. However, one-third of patients end up having an operation to remove their colon at some point in their lives. "The cause of colitis is unknown. It's genetic to some extent, but less than with Crohn's disease, but something unknown in the environment comes along and sets it off. It could be food, atmospheric pollution or stress — no one really knows what it is. It could be all of them." |
Beaf:Want to take a bet? It will take an Arab spring for that to happen. NNPC is the goose that lays all the corrupt money that keeps the thieving elite going. It will never be closed. Not while the likes of Allison-Madueke are in Power. Closing NNPC is like the political elite bankrupting itself. How do you think future election campaigns will be funded? guy, perish that thought o. |
sold out |
The mall, built on a land covering 28,500m2 within Alausa, the seat of power, by Gruppo Nigeria Investment Ltd. is co-financed by Actis, owners of The Palms, Lekki; the Accra Mall in Ghana and Junction Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, which owns 60 percent equity in the mall. Actis have divested from The Palms. It is fully owned by Tayo Amusan, a Nigerian property developer. |
mcgboye:you be winch? That is a prophecy that only TB Joshua could have gotten right. |
This INSPIRED guy dey trend o! make i go see how far for auto section. |
This is a very hard one. I will settle for JARUS and OAM4J. I may no longer be a fan of the politics section but these two gentlemen have earned my respect by their actions and attitude on that board. special recognition: JUSTWISE and AJANLEKOKO. Not forgetting LALABOI. The music section may have died a natural death in recent months but the story of NL can never be complete without mentioning the good works of LALABOI. I owe my present knowledge of Nigerian music to him and his efforts on that board. |
I am in support of the scrapping of CAN. While we are at it, also scrap SCIA (Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs). Both should be scrapped. |
Prof. Aminu, why not ban SCIA too while you are at it? |
AjanleKoko:vex ke? not at all. just felt like a pest for a short while .All the best with the project and early christmas wishes to you and yours. |
I hope the funeral will not be a money making venture for some? Nigerians are funny chracters. Just bury the man and let us move onto more pressing issues. |
There is something i fail to get. Does PDP not have the right to disqualify Sylva from contesting the primaries on the grounds of POOR PERFORMANCE? Is it a God given right that an incumbent must contest and win a primary? What is the need for all this drama? Can't PDP simply say, thank you for the past four years,We have a better candidate now.Good bye. |
AjanleKoko:maybe when bonus show face you will be in a happy mood and willing to look my side. the way you just bone me sha! greet baby Ajanlekoko for me. |
Ibime:I never understand why folks are so quick to make up excuses for Wayne. Lad is supremely talented but is way too inconsistent for the hype he gets. It maybe because talented footballers are rare in England. Yet i get amazed at the hype and constant stream of excuses that come with them. |
