PoliticsRe: Kalu Challenges Ribadu To Declare His Assets by McKren(m): 1:26am On Feb 26, 2007
The beauty of it all is that the Ribadu I know is not interested in what thieves make of his integrity. He will not react to Orji and simply wait to escort him to jail.
PoliticsRe: Kalu Challenges Ribadu To Declare His Assets by McKren(m): 12:49am On Feb 26, 2007
I look at what we type here and I pity for Nigeria and Nigerians. Kalu just like many other Nigerian Governors have done nothing other than embezzle, embezzle, embezzle. Instead of thinking of how to change the system we are busy encouraging a fraudstar to attack a Ribadu who is trying to change our values and system. Meanwhile while we are trying to pull Ribadu down what hope for common Nigerians, Ribadu should declare his assets or maybe battle for his credibility and I now ask. What is more important Ribadu's show of credibility or stopping corrupt politicians who are depriving millions of Nigerians the right to good lifehuhhuh??

I am sorry no matter how comfortable any person thinks they are we all have a common stigma haunting us. Our country which is naturally so rich is just very poor because of corruption and we are so happy pleading with the whiteman to live in their country with some of us engaging in all sorts of jobs that whitemen have refused to take up even with our degrees. I don't care what people's immigration status are in UK or US but the fact remains that at least 90% of Nigerians leave because of the sorry state of our country. Dont tell me you were born there because if that is the case at some point your parents pleaded to live there so its all the same thing.

Go to Aba and see if Orji is a man to be taken seriously. We have a difficult situation that requires peculiar solution and people are happy to attack Ribadu's character who is trying to make  difference quoting all sorts of unnecessary law. What moral right does a man who have desecrated the constitution of the land by embezzling public fund to qoute that same constitution.

People please lets treat some of these issues seriously, generations before us have failed us but we can change our children's destiny.
PoliticsRe: Fawehinmi Against Court Of Appeal On Atiku by McKren(m): 3:55pm On Feb 25, 2007
Good talking about OBj's attack on him if he resigns. This is 2007 Nigeria, OBJ or EFCC will not subject him to firing squad and Nigerians will simply not accept that. They can only subject him to court.
Now the question is why is a man who is known to have won more than 6 court cases against the presidency afraid.huhhuhhuhhuhhuh?/ What is he afraid ofhuhhuh??/

Probably this talk of Ribadu has some evidence he is waiting to show in courts is true.
PoliticsRe: Fawehinmi Against Court Of Appeal On Atiku by McKren(m): 3:45pm On Feb 25, 2007
The court have been part of the problem too, yes OBJ disobeyed some court orders which are not really the best thing to do in the interest of constitutional democracy. But our courts are not helping matters, I personally think democracy however you want yo define it is useless if it does not protect the security of lives and properties of ordinary Nigerians.
Some of the disobeyed court orders you are talking about include those granted to Fayose, Dariye to block their impeachment and prosecution.

And this same Atiku then was busy defending the fact that a man who has conspicuously looted his state treasury should be treated with kid gloves because he got some useless papers from the courts and thus his fundamental human rights must be repected. No one talks of the fundamental human rights of millions of Nigerians deprived of basic ameneties while looting the treasury.

OBJ's Government has not been perfect no doubts and we want something new. But I think Atiku does not represent that new thing. This same Atiku who has turned champion of the oppresed almost got one of his aides to kill a jounalist who asked him a simple question. Wait let him enter we will see how democratic he is.
PoliticsRe: Fawehinmi Against Court Of Appeal On Atiku by McKren(m): 3:20pm On Feb 25, 2007
Your position that the Court ruling is biased can't be but far from the truth,  various court rulings in the past one year has shown that  Court might as well be the only arm of the federal System  confronting fearlessly the presidency.
That is the sentiment I don't like. You can not assume that as soon as a court Judgement is against the Presidency it is fair.

Tell me what Atiku is doing as VP, what VP of the world openly attacks a Government's security policy he is part of. Telling the whole world that $2b is about to be spent on importation of amunition rather than development, do you how much threat that statement is to national security and you think such a man should be taken seriously . If our courts and legislature are fair is'nt it about time to show the VP out of office if he is not honourable enough to resignhuhhuhhuh Why must everyother person in this country support illegality just to champion an anti-obasanjo campaign.

I don't know what you think, but I think the future of Nigeria and its democracy is more important than the ambition of one man. Come May 29th both Atiku and OBJ should leave us alone let someone else try. As far as I am concerned Atiku is the worst mistake Nigeria will ever make.
PoliticsRe: Fawehinmi Against Court Of Appeal On Atiku by McKren(m): 2:56pm On Feb 25, 2007
I don't know what you are going on about, I am telling you I don't agree with that court ruling.

The question is what do we vote for during election in Nigeria, is it party or individualshuhhuhhuh If its individuals then the post of VP should be voted for differently from the post of President. But for now what we vote for is Party and thus the court Judgement that the VP has no allegiance to his party is totally wrong and I think the Judges in question should be ashamed of themselves.

Take UK for Example, the British people voted Labour Party in the last election because of their policies. Such that Now that the labour Party thinks they want a new party leader it then means by default that Blair will have to stand down as prime Minister, he can not say that after the British people voted me in I have no allegiance with the party anymore if you don't want me take your labour party leadership while I go to another party to continue as prime minister. The new Labour party leader Maybe Gordon Brown or whoever will become PM by default until the next general election where the British people will now have a choice to vote out labour if they like.

You know whathuhhuh/I think those judges delivered that judgement through there pockets and they should all be ashamed of themselves. Because I dont understand how it is obvious that during elections we vote parties but yet politicians dont have allegiance to their party. This judgement will only aid the proliferation of more social clubs, in the name of parties, without ethics, values or morals. The judgement is both an assualt on contitutional democracy and party politics and I hope the supreme court nullifies it.
PoliticsRe: Fawehinmi Against Court Of Appeal On Atiku by McKren(m): 2:32pm On Feb 25, 2007
Atiku's relationship with the President or he survives on his immunity is his problem. On issues of national concern the constitution must be applied to the letter. We can not have a situation where when it favours Atiku we do what the constitution says but when its not in his favour we circumvent the constitution or re-interprete it to suit him.

People have to stop abusing the constitution merely because they hate Obasanjo, the rule of law does not work that way. There is no justification whatsoever on that ruling by the appeal court. Instead of the Judge addressing whether the constitution permits him to be in another party and yet remain VP he is busy telling us the President can not remove his VP even when at the time of passing that Judgement and till date Atiku is still the VP.

We now have a situation where court verdicts are passed based on sentiments and gossips rather than the provision of the rule of Law.
PoliticsRe: What Is The Importance Of Census In Nigeria? by McKren(m): 6:01pm On Feb 24, 2007
alabiyemmy:
ONE OF SUCH MEANINGLESS COMMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS AGAIN - LOOK AT HOW A NIGERIAN TALK. COMPARING REGISTRATION OF DEATH AND BIRTHS TO A NATIONAL CENSUS. SHAMEFUL.
You are in London, how many times does the Home Office do census (the last one was in 2001 and the next one 2011)huhhuh// Does that mean there is no default system to know an estimate of the amount of people in Britain at any given timehuhhuh??. You think it makes sense to call someone elses comments shameful without saying anything different or suggesting what you rather think is reasonable.

So there is no relationship anymore between Birth rate, Mortality rate, change in Immigration and Emigration; and the total Number of people in a Nation. Why can't there be a government department like the Internal Affairs Ministry with at least Quarterly updated systen of such database.
shocked shocked :oSorry here comes the height of ignorance.

The very essence of census is for national planning  but it defeats the purpose when you have a system that simply encourages fraud because some state governors want more allocation intead of appreciating the very essence of the excersize. Any reasonable person will agree with me that the current wholistic system is ineffective and calls for a change or needs to be strengthened more or verified using other allied data.
There are whole lot of issues that needs to be sorted out in our country if we must grow, the current system is unsustainable. The Internal Affairs Ministry has got a lot of work to do.

E.g. Look at the present Bank Consolidation, what is the very essence of ithuh// Do you think countries have megabanks for the sake of ithuh?? The obvious answer is no. The very essence of Megabanks is to drive Small and Medium-Sized Enterprices (SMEs) by giving low interest loans to enterpreneurs. The question is what is the future of those banks and our credit system in a country where there is no proper method of identification or address systemhuhhuhhuh? This is where the Internal Affairs Ministry comes into play in economic re-engineering.

Considering all these you will understand why I say we are an unserious Nation. There is no genuine desire to do the very necessary things and do them right. We rather pretend to be doing what needs to be done by engaging in charades like National Census. Who is fooling who.

Man don't try to bully me because I don't share your views ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: What Is The Importance Of Census In Nigeria? by McKren(m): 3:48pm On Feb 24, 2007
I simply think the excersize  is waste of time and resources by an unserious nation. Why cant the internal affairs ministry have an all year round birth and death registration, or why cant National Population Commision have such details. People engage in census because it is an avenue to engage in contract scams while politicians on their own use the opportunity to pursue more allocations which they hope to squander. What a directionless nation.

I was listening to a BBC documentary on Nigeria and the commentator was like, "development is a long way away in Nigeria, you cant expect otherwise from a Nation that has been unable to count itself".
PoliticsRe: Orji Uzor Kalu's Interview On Hardtalk! by McKren(m): 3:33pm On Feb 24, 2007
I don't understand what this argument is about. Obviously being briliant is far apart from ability to speak englsih. The japanese and chinese leaders who are not able to speak english are very brilliant but that is not the case with Orji. He is simply lacking in ideas, because even if he has been unable to communicate his ideas he would have been able to use his past 8years as governor to put them in practice. He hasnot done either so gramma or no gramma he is simply clueless.
PoliticsRe: US Threatens To Withdraw "financial, Moral And Material Support" For The April by McKren(m): 2:03am On Feb 24, 2007

someone should tell chris okotie to go on air and dazzle allan little, tim sebastin and all of them. if for nothing else, to show the world that not all Nigerian presidential aspirants are clueless or butcher onyibo!
I think I do agree with the Idea. We need to push for this idea. Please post this on as many internet pages as you can until Chris Okotie bows to the pressure. At least lets hear some good gramma for public consumption.
PoliticsRe: Should Leadership Be Shared Between Tribes. by McKren(m): 10:51am On Feb 23, 2007
ugodaniel:
@LadyT

The problems with us Ibo's is that we can't trust ourselves let alone, trust others, we are always dancing to da tune of da highest bidder in terms of who can offer the most money.

And until we're able to trust ourselves and be able to produce ONLY ONE Presidential candidate for future elections, i'm afraid the status quo will remain

As an aside, LadyT, where in London are you! My Aunt stays in Thamesmead but i am in Manchester. Wouldnt mind apologising for all my deeds to you in person smiley wink cheesy grin kiss
Sorry man, there is nothing wrong with us the Igbos. I think you got it all wrong.
The Igbos are democratic by nature and don't do blind loyalty, we follow what we believe in and what we think is right no matter who is at the recieving end of our actions. This is not necessarily because of money but generally to pursue interests some of which are informed by protecting national interest. e.g in 1million years Orji Kalu does not get my vote merely because he is Igbo.

If every other Nigerian tribes men thought that way our country would have been a better place. We have situation where an hausa will prefer to vote the biggest fool merely because he is his tribesman against a southern candidate and that has not helped us as a country.

Though there is hope, these days we have a Ribadu openly attacking a fellow Notherner in the pursuit of what he believes in. Same goes for El-Rufai. So somehow we are getting there.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo, Yar'adua And Others Indicted By Abia Government by McKren(m): 5:46am On Feb 23, 2007
People are just quoting Nigerian constitution as it pleases them. A panel of enquiry set up by Abia State government indicts a politician from another state who is contesting election at a Federal level. Do they have jurisdiction over people outside Abia Statehuhhuhhuh??

Orji is diverting public attention from the stupid show he put up on hardtalk, that is what I think this is about.

But INEC deadline is gone!!!!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Did AC Replace Atiku? by McKren(m): 6:41pm On Feb 22, 2007
What I simply like about this whole drama is his open attack on Yaradua. That will make him still unsafe when OBJ leaves office.
PoliticsRe: Is Atiku Abubakar Corrupt? by McKren(m): 6:27pm On Feb 22, 2007
You can as well put up a post asking if Nigeria flag is gree+white+green. That is what this thread is like. grin grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Kalu Challenges Ribadu To Declare His Assets by McKren(m): 1:17pm On Feb 22, 2007
Kalu likes diverting attention rather than addressing real issues. Once upon a time he challenged Ribadu to probe OBJ and when asked to come forward with evidence of his claims he refused. He will go to jail after leaving office its that simple.

A man who lacks focus like Orji Kalu should have no place in our national debate. Jail awaits him.
PoliticsRe: EFCC Probes President Obasanjo by McKren(m): 9:20pm On Feb 20, 2007
debosky:
y'all sound a little naive to me. EFCC will clear obj and that will be the end of that. they will not 'indict' him, he'll be given a clean bill of health

EFCC may have done good, but don't hold your breath waiting for obj to be indicted, maybe when he leaves office, but certainly not now
I agree with you, though a more strategic move by the EFCC will be to delay the report till OBJ leaves office.
Because if they give OBJ a clean bill of health they are only giving Atiku and Co a tool to fight cos they wont accept any report that wont indict OBJ, but if on the other had they indict him the senate will remember their job because of their penchant for Anti-OBJ situation which will not help Nigeria cos Atiku's first move will be to frustrate the EFCC and INEC.

However I think the probe will only be academic cos OBJ has less than 100days in office
PoliticsRe: Breaking News:::Atiku Defeats Obasanjo At Appeal Court! by McKren(m): 9:05pm On Feb 20, 2007
People please I like to remind us that the court verdict today did not rule that Atiku is the next President of Nigeria. It did not even rule that he will take part in elections come April so I simply dont understand what the fuss is about. By this judgement he will only finish his remaining 98days in office.
PoliticsRe: Orji Uzor Kalu's Interview On Hardtalk! by McKren(m): 8:30pm On Feb 20, 2007
Y2k:
We don't need professors in english language and illitrates in development of the country. We need good leaders.People who can move the country forward. Good english should be of advantage and not a condition to be a president.
If Orji is that a good leader why not go live in Abia he has been developing in the past 8years.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News:::Atiku Defeats Obasanjo At Appeal Court! by McKren(m): 3:20pm On Feb 20, 2007

PoliticsRe: Breaking News:::Atiku Defeats Obasanjo At Appeal Court! by McKren(m): 2:37pm On Feb 20, 2007
Sorry for our Justice System. People are now able to rape the constitution just to exhibit anti-obasanjo tendencies. Lets see who will laugh last.

PoliticsRe: Atiku Has Left Nigeria For UK by McKren(m): 10:54am On Feb 20, 2007
the presidency should not send ribadu or el-rufai to come and counter what atiku says. they will only give credence to atiku's tactics. what he does with eu or us is of no consequence to nigerian internal affairs. the presidency should concentrate on winning the case in courts, unsitting atiku and conducting credible polls.

I simply dont understand why a man who has won so many court cases is afraid of the court this time. Except he is trying to tell Nigerians that there is a link between him being VP and his litany of judicial victories.
I think its hi-time we ensure our courts are fit for purpose. I simply dont understand how judges rule in favour of illegality.
