ur elder sister in canada is telling u dont come to canada...wat are u asking us again? Who knows both u and canada better than her?

U are earning 500k in a sure job....wat do u think abroad is? A place where bad thing never happen? Where no one can die by mistake? Where money is picked on the road? Bruh

Let me ask u. Lets say dangote ran away to u.k like his mates were doing in the 70s instead of joining the hustle in lagos...do u think he would be better off now?

We all need to change how we view the world. Its not easy anywhere. Nigeria may not be great but many nigerians who traveled abroad became stranded and had to come back with nothing
You know you could have just passed at the post without saying anything, right? You think everyone that travels out of Nigeria is doing it for the money? The said person clearly said he wanted to start over somewhere outside, he has his reasons (best known to him). Please let's be mindful the way we talk to people here

i got a mail from cic that a decision has been made on my application yesterday even copying lagos that my passport be dispatched to me but no word yet from vfs.
Can i just walk in tomorrow to request for my passport?
or do i wait for vfs to send me a request/
Normally VFS will send you an email asking you to go for your passport. But if you have spare time you can always check up on them to ask(you might be lucky to find your passport ready for collection)

@frankrobbn1 @mcobex @justmellow please I'll appreciate your advice
Sorry for the delay. I think your gcms note will help here, because for CIC to request for an update on your sponsor's SOA means they had checked other aspects of your app and were satisfied with them. I know you have to resume in September, so what you can do now is defer your admission for now while you wait for your gcms note. Once you get it reapply and work a little on your SOP base on what the gcms says.
If not that there isn't much time left I would have said you should reapply now (even before seeing the gcms note) but you have less than 1 month to resumption.

Hello everybody, I keep seeing prove you would be gainfully 'employed' on your return. Is setting up your own business not viewed as grounds for return? I ask this because my intention is to set up a school with my husband(he has no intention to travel) for inclusive education on my return. This is really discouraging me.
Starting up a school is good idea, but you have to show proof of that because just saying it might not be enough.

Name those countries and when they started offering English language taught courses.
Bro let's not try to argue on this, but do you know some schools in Hungary, Latvia, Turkey....(the list goes on) now run their bachelor's degree in English language and they aren't that expensive?

I think my class was the past batch that got a 2years PSW permit in the UK, that was circa 2011.

Truth is, since then the number of people especially from Africa going to the UK has REDUCED.

it isn't even about wanting to stay there forever, people also want to gain some international work experience before going back to their homeland, so the lack of a straight PSW permit is a huge disincentive for a lot of people.

That 3 months they give now, is nothing and very inadequate to secure a good employment that would help you change your status there.

Truth is, there's really nothing in the UK, the jobs aren't there compared to places like Canada or the UK or Australia or even Germany. Getting a decent job in the UK isn't easy-it takes time and processes.

If I know what I know now(no regrets anyway) , I would have gone for my Undergraduate in Canada then, rather than the UK.
I had the option of Canada and the UK . Canada was taking to long, so I opted for the Uk.

UK still has the fastest and most straight forward Uni admission process. You can get 5 offers letters a week from UK universities in a week.
Very true.

This thread was created for helping one and another, not to bring each other down and make mockery of each other. We are all unique in our own way and that's what makes us special. I don't want to say who is at fault or who isn't, but please let's focus on what this thread was created for(which is helping each other). This back and forth name calling and disregard for each other won't take us anywhere, please let's not full the pages with things that aren't relevant to the issues at hand. Na God I take beg all of us. @justwise take note as well, you have the power to also delete posts that aren't related to what we are discussing (even if na my post).

Hello creg777,

Sorry to hear about your predicament, but at this point, there is nothing much you can do other than spend money on appeal or judicial review which might not be successfully because you were at fault.

Its sad to hear you later got a high score in EE, but you would still be required to show a bank statement during the processing, which might have also led to the latter dealings. In my opinion, irrespective of the application category, I don't think your EE will be successful because your inadmissibility record has been entered on their database making it accessible to other VOs in the future just in case any application from your pops up. Well, you might decide to go ahead with the EE application but its highly not advisable.

But before the final refusal (decision), didn't you receive any procedural fairness letter from the VO? If NO, then maybe with this you can build a case for an appeal but i will reiterate that the success is not guaranteed.

My advise:

Before withdrawing your EE application, request for your gcms notes so to see if the VO entered it into the notes (which definitely will be entered) or the information stated in regards to the possible inadmissibility (ban) and misrepresentation. This can help you with future insights, don't feel reluctant to.

BTW when did you apply and when did the refusal came?

You have all the possible luck I can wish!
Well said bro. I really feel for him, patience was all he needed then and everything would have worked perfectly well for him.

Please can someone direct me to the page number on this thread where I can see the procedure for the application for Canadian Student Visa.

The data I need is how much the student visa fee is?

How much is biometrics?

Any other cost in the student visa application process?

How long does student visa application process take for applications from Nigeria?

Whether it is too late to apply for visa for September 2019 entry.

Someone asked me for this info this morning and I remembered there is a thread like this on nairaland. There are 194 pages on this thread, I would appreciate if someone can direct me to the pages where I can get the answers to this questions quickly. Thank you.

Hello Good evening all,
Please a friend of mine applied for Study visa last year but was rejected.
Does she need to do another medical this year ? because she reapplied last month.
Her agent is telling her she doesn’t need to, is that true ?.

Thanks.
Medical is valid for 12 calendar months (1 year) , so let her calculate from the day she did the medical till when she reapplied.

Yeah bruv. I applied on the 14th of July from the UK. Biometrics on the 16th. Biometrics completed on the 19th. The average processing time is 2-3 weeks from the UK. This is the third week, so hopefully decision go land this week. Or by next week, I go query them small huh Again my financial documents are from Nigeria, maybe that's why it's taking this long.
Don't worry, hopefully before next week you will get your approval mail. Good luck

Can you compare it to before? It's reducing drastically as people are getting more enlightened. I'm sure you remember me lol
Justwise refused to highlight that part. One of the reasons people go to UK for undergraduate degree is mainly because they can hardly get schools in other parts of Europe whose language of instruction is English language. Though most of them have realized that now and have started running English sessions for international students, once they all do that I bet UK won't get to see international students (except those ministers children). Though their education standard is high but same goes to some other countries in Europe who need only time to make their mark

Please what do they do after studying, come back to Nigeria?
You can only stay back for 90days(maximum) which might not be enough to secure a good job, so the only way to stay back will be to apply for another admission or you move out. They know that has reduced to he number of people going there that's why they are talking of changing the rules now, but until they do don't believe them. They make billions of £ from international students and I believe that figure has dropped tremendously

I'm not sure you know what you are talking about, do you know when the UK stopped work after study and the number of foreign student still coming to the UK to study?
I know what I am saying bro, I also know people still go there to study. Most schools in Europe (non-english speaking countries) don't offer first degree in English language, once they all do the I bet you will hardly see anyone going to UK to study. Tell me the number of international students (especially from Africa) going to UK hasn't reduced in the last 6-7 years. People will still go there because of their standard of education (no doubt) but for someone whose intention is to stay back, they will prefer to go elsewhere (which has been happening lately).

She could be telling the truth
Don't fall for those silly people's trick. Until they implement it, don't believe them. Very soon nobody will go to UK to study (especially those whose intention is to stay back after studies). Some schools in Europe are now offering undergraduate programs in English language and the number is increasing, all these yeye things the UK government is doing will end. Let them not wake up

Mile22:
Good morning everyone here is my predicament.
I have two sponsors which is my grandfather and his elder brother (my uncle) we all bear the same surname.

8million naira covers my whole tuition fee for a year program including my one year living expenses and flight itinerary, here is the break down:
Tuition fee: $16,500
Living expenses $10,000
Flight: $2,000
Total: $28,500

I approximated everything to the sum of 8million naira you can correct me if I am wrong.
My sponsors are both both retired in their early 70s, they both live in UK and they have been the one sponsoring both me and my siblings education since our dad demise far back 2011 but no document to show for it because they either give us the money in cash or they send it to our account when they are in Nigeria, here is my questions:

1. Can they both use the same letter of sponsorship stating their reasons for sponsoring me and their both signature on it.

2. What documents should I request from them regarding where they work and other necessary documents ?

3. Since the sum of 4million is coming from each one them, should they send the whole money into my mums account which might become a lump sum, or they should send my living expenses into my account, pay part of my tuition fee and the remaining money Into my mums account ?

4. Regarding question number 3 getting both of them to send me statement of their account of 4months backward might be hard.

5. Would you advice me to apply for visa while serving (NYSC) or wait till I am been discharged and given my certificate. Based on reviews and people’s experience people get denied visa based on their current employment.

Gurus in the house I would be waiting for your guidance and advice. Thank you.
1. They should write separate letter of support stating how much they will be committing towards your studies.
2. Since they are both retired, they should show how they earn a living (be it pension or other investments they have)... This is very important because they need show that they are capable of sponsoring you beyond your first year(that is if your program is more than a year).
3. Lump sum won't be an issue as long as you and them explain the transaction in your LOE and letter of supports respectively. As for who to send it to, they should send the funds to your personal account (since you are above 18 years) or better still pay your tuition and transfer your living expenses only into your bank account. But as for the tuition fee, contact your intended school to know their refund policy just in case(before making any tuition payment).
4. Their SOA of account is important, because the vo needs to know if they have enough to take care of you and themselves as well. Also like I said above, they need to show their source of income so as to prove they can continue sponsoring you beyond the first year .
5. You don't have to wait till after NYSC, apply while still serving but make sure you let them know you are still serving and will leave after service. Include your NYSC ID card, posting letter (if you still have it), a letter of introduction from your PPA(if possible).

Good Morning All,

My wife is about to submit application for study permit.

Kindly advise on the documents required to be submitted. Can she add Family members to her application or not.

Thanks
As for the document to submit, kindly check CIC website for it or list the document she has already here so we can say if there's need for more or not.
As for your second question, yes she can add family members to her app as long as she is financially capable and able to convince the vo why she wants to take family members along when she is going for study

Morning all, pls i would like help with this question.a friend of mine got some cash from her sister for self development which is what she intend using for her education in Canada.its been in her dorm account fixed a year now. But she been employed for over a year and has no steady inflow in her own personal account. Pls i would like to know can she present just the dorm statement of account or she still has to present her personal account too.
Gid bless you all
First, I will say ask your friend to join the thread so she can get first hand information herself (she needs it). Secondly, do you mean she had been unemployed for over a year or employed ? Well, she can use the dorm account to apply, but I will advise she include the other account as well(no matter how little the money inside is). After all, both accounts belong to her.

What if your reason is because you graduated with a second class lower degree and only a minimum of second class upper is eligible for a masters degree in Canada
No matter what level you are going for, make sure you state your reasons. PGD also have it's own advantages, so use that to your strength and sell your points to the vo. It's like if you go for a job interview and you are asked what is/are your weaknesses? You don't tell the interview your real weakness, rather you paint some of your strengths as "weakness"....like I work too hard and that sometimes doesn't allow me to have time for myself or something like that

The school will depend on the course you are going for, search for schools in Canada offering your intended course and check their respective admission requirements and funding(scholarship). Google will help you with that

Can one resume say 2 weeks after resumption. Say school resumes September 3rd but cos of say visa issue, can one resume weeks later? Instead of quickly deferring admission.
Yes you can. Some schools give grace of 2 weeks. Ask from your school the latest time to resume
