deveid: how does anyone suggest this be handled? Cc: @jopppp74 Is it the same course? If yes, then you can send the new offer letter to CIC. Another option is wait and allow CIC use the first letter to process your app and if they attend to you before the end of this year you can leave to attend the new school in January. Good luck |

waynee2baba: Lol after 11 weeks of waiting. I applied from London in July. I just finished my BSc in the UK. I had a first class too. A first class in Software Engineering at 19 and I was going for an OBJECT ORIENTED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT programme for 8 months. More like a specialised vocational training programme. Today, I got refused due to purpose of visit and immigration status. At least the torment is over... F*CK CANADA AND THEIR IMMIGRATION POLICIES! I could have sworn I had the best SOP. Why deny me for immigration status? I was on a freaking TIER 4 VISA man. This is the end of this stupid struggle for me. UK has 2 year post-study work visa. If they had implemented this since, what would I be looking for in cold deserted Canada. I won't even rant about Nigeria. It's pointless. I'd be back to the UK next year. Sorry about the delay bro, good luck |

Gtessy: I work in the bank and in a session where bank verification from embassies come to our units. Banks disclose balance based on enquiry made by the embassy. For UK embassy, they pick a random date and ask for the balance in the account as at that date, name in the system, date of birth and authenticity of the statement. Canada also verifies balance sometimes closing balance as at print out of statement or balance as at date of enquiry. The best option is to leave the funds in the account at until approval. Though one can be lucky and enquiry might be based on balance as at date of printing statement. The grace on an individual application is different, what works for A may not work for B. Well said |

My question is, do I have to send CIC d new letter or it's not necessary since it's still d same course, same school and same intake. Thanks all The choice is yours, but I will advise you send it to CIC as that will also serve as a reminder to them to hasten up with your app |

Daysun001: Hello everybody. I'm about applying for my masters in computer science in any Canada public university and i discovered the minimum requirements stated by all of them is equivalent of 3.5 cgpa, pls is there other ways of tweaking this requirements? I graduated from a computer related course with 3.35 Theirs is on a 4 point grading system (3.5/4), yours(Nigeria ) is on 5(3.35/5). They pay more attention to your final two years, so what was your grade in those two years? If it is higher then you stand a better chance. Also, your job experience might increase your chances as well |

neverlosehope: Declaration: I worked in three different bankers for over a decade. My last role was a team lead in a unit of Internal Control of a bank and part of the responsibilities of my unit was liaison to different embassies.
Response to the issue: The major request for embassies is the confirmation of authenticity of bank statements (which indirectly includes the closing balance and other areas of the submitted bank statement). This confirmation of authenticity is as at the last date on the submitted bank statement and not the current date. If the last date on the banks statement was July 31, 2019 and the request was made on September 16, 2019. The confirmation will be genuineness of the statement as at July 31, 2019 (note: not direct stating the closing balance but the response indirectly includes if the closing balance is correct or not) and nothing related to September 16, 2019. Again, banks will not state the closing bank, but rather to answer yes or no to the authenticity of the statement. This role is part of the statutory duties of banks and it is taken with extreme confidentiality and seriousness. Staff had been sack for sloppy job on the confirmation of authenticity.
Regards I disagree with the point where you said the embassy won't ask beyond the date you printed the SOA, I have seen a case where an applicant applied for TRV and after a month he withdrew a large chunk of the fund and was denied based on insufficient fund(he wasn't lucky enough to get a request for an updated SOA before decision was taken). When he orders for his gcms note the vo clearly started that he withdrew the some money from the account (the exact amount stated with date).....how do you think they got to know that if the bank didn't tell them? Like I always say, you can't predict CIC so to be on a safe side just allow the money to be there for the duration of the application. Now let's allow this matter rest |

makano: So this supports my earlier post that Banks do not disclose closing balance to a 3rd party.. Justwise this is coming from a banker.. Peace We are all entitled to our opinion, but let's also know no two cases are the same. Banks sometimes disclose the balance to CIC(I have seen more than 2 casses). NB: Let's not debate this again as we have other things to discuss ( |

Mfondara: Hello Gurus. I got a refusal with VO's reasons being:
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
2. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.
It seems to me the first comment referred to my SOP even though I thought I was detailed and explanatory enough. I also ran it by people too.
On the second comment, below are the documents submitted for proof of employment from 2012 to date:
1. My CV showing all my roles from 2012 (NYSC till date). 2. Testimonial letter from NNPC confirming I did NYSC there as Production Intern. 3. My employment letter and confirmation letter from my first employer after NYSC. I worked with the establishment from 2012 to 2018 in 4 different roles in production operations and supply chain. 4. Last six months payslips in my previous place of work. 5. 2 awards in my previous place of employment. 6. My employment letter and confirmation letter where I work from 2018 till date in Supply Chain and Logistics department. 7. My latest 6month payslips in my present place of work. 7. Photocopy of work ID.
I had my first degree in Industrial Engineering. I have worked for 6.5years basically in Production operations, Logistics and Supply Chain roles. I applied for 2 PGC programs: Logistics & Supply Chain Management and Operations Management.
Kindly advise on what I need to provide in my reapplication to counter the reasons given for refusal by the VO. Sorry for the delay, I will advise you order for your gcms note immediately so you can know the real reasons behind your delay. This note will give you a breakdown of what the vo thinks about your application and why he/she denied your application. Google search the name "gcms note" and you will see third party companies offering the service of getting the note for those who don't have anyone in Canada to order for them. If you have someone already in Canada (studying or working), then visit CIC website to order for it |

peruz: Pls is it advisable for someone that does not bear the same surname has the applicant for study permit be her sponsor? Hence is it possible for a person that put in for study permit be a sponsor though the result for his application is not out yet? 1. Yes someone with a different surname can sponsor you, but they MUST show commitment by paying your tuition fee and living expenses into your personal account or to the school (tuition fee), also they will need to write a letter of support stating why they want to spend such amount of money on you. 2. As for an applicant sponsoring another applicant, yes it is possible as long as he has enough fund to cover his fees(tuition and living expenses) and that of the other applicant(you know that could be a lot) |

tofbus: Good morning house , i just joined this thread and i have a positive feeling that it is going to help me . i got an admission for january 2020 in a university in canada , the school fees is 17k with the 10k estimated expenses. i have paid $1600 acceptance fee . My major challenge is the statement of account , my dad believe so much in properties than keeping money in his account , so for the past months or years there hasnt been cash flow in his account, he is ready to get the whole fee that will cover my study but wont it raise flag if he deposits the money and few days or weeks he prints it out for me . please i need advice on how i can go about this . As long as he explains the source of the money, you have no problem. Let him explain why the lump sum and show proof of it and you will be good to go. He should also explain he believes more in investing in real estate (he should show proof of the investments he has by showing C of O of properties, rental agreement with tenants of those properties etc) |

What do you expect when some newbies come here and the first or second post they ask to PM just because most of them are too LAZY to read up and get all necessary information that will better their lives. I know the number of PMs I get on a daily basis (even from people that have never posted on this thread before) and I just delete them or ask them to ask their questions here so other could learn from it. I know it is easier for us all to put the blame on those asking for money from others but we shouldn't forget to mention those who feel very lazy to at least write their own SOP and be involved in the process(I am not talking about those who genuinely write their SOP and only need vetting from guys here). The main problem here is that most people want to travel to Canada for studies but have NEVER visited CIC website for once, that tells how bad things are. You can imagine someone coming here to ask for application form when he/she can easily get it from CIC site. I can remember vividly one of @SOPwritter's first post here was to advertise his business and I can't remember @justwise rebuking him for that which was strange to me then. Finally, let's stop asking for money from others as that defeats the purpose of this great thread, also those who feel too LAZY to make simple research on their own for something this important to them should just stay back home until they are prepared. NB: The main purpose of SOP/LOE is to explain somethings that might not be too clear to the vo, so if you think your application is clear enough for the vo to understand then you DONT NEED AN SOP/LOE. This shouldn't take away the fact that @Justmellow and @SOPwritter have been very helpful here by taking out their time to explain some processes to people here. |

Family ties @frankrobbn1 @mcobex @justmellow @sopwriter please help You have a very good profile, the vo's concern was your home-tie. How did you explain it in your first application? A well structured SOP will do justice to your case, you can use your family (parents and siblings) as your home-tie in this case, but if your parents have other investments/assets you can include them as reasons why you will go back after your studies. |

You will have to visit the university's website to get that information, but in general you will have to contact some supervisors who have same research interest as you then tell them of your interest to join their team/group (you can check the program page to see how to do that), then if they see you fit or good enough and also have enough funding for you then you will he offered. The first step is visit all the schools' site you intend to apply to so you can get first hand info from them |

Its a year PGD; Starting January 2019 and Ending by August 2019; Cool then, just explain that your dad has paid your first term fee(as requested by your school) and that of the second term is readily available in your account and you will pay when the school ask you to pay. I want to believe you have a genuine source of income? If not, then use your dad as the sole sponsor and let your dad explain in his letter of support that he had paid part of your tuition fee (show proof of payment from the school) and had transferred the other part and your living expenses into your personal bank account (though he is supposed to show proof of the transfer, but he can say he transferred it about a year ago as we all know the SOA you will print will be for at most 6 months). |

My question is, do I state in the letter of sponsorship he will be the one to pay my 2nd term fee while I take care of my upkeep or write He knows am capable of paying my school fees and taking care of myself but only wants to support his first son with a token for his first term school fees;
