joyblinks:1. No he isn't too old to go for masters, hope he is busy doing something at the moment? He stands a better chance of he is working or doing something related to his intended course at the moment. 2. There are lots of PhD applicants, you can check the school's website to know the admission requirement for your intended course. PhD is expensive, so it is better if you seek for funding from the school. To do that you can as well check the school's requirement for it, most likely they will ask you to write a letter of interest, stating why you should be considered for the funding and why you are going for the said research topic. NB: Visit the school's website to know what is needed. Good luck |
ThePressNigeria:Which school is that? Generally, IELTS is for students coming from non-english speaking countries. Some county are exempted from providing IELTS score and Nigeria is among those countries. You can get a letter from your previous school (secondary or university) stating the language of instruction during your time with them was English language. That will suffice |
MUN19:The recent trend shows CIC runs check on applicant's finance more than once, so this applicant should expect the unexpected. If he/she has no issue with finance then nothing to worry about, but if there is then it might lead to denial (even after medical request/pass). |
Ubah007:Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to view application, but if you get a medical call/pass from CIC it means your application is almost ready to be approved. Though CIC will still carry out further investigation regarding your funds (for the 2nd time). If you don't have issues with your fund then you are ALMOST certain to get an approval. Good luck |
skirmish:You can explain to the immigration officer that you couldn't find a direct flight to your final destination that's why you decided to go through that city. Explain to him/her (if they ask) how you will manage to get to your final destination |
skirmish:Any particular reason why you are going through that route and not directly to the city where your school is located? |
Gorgeousasanat:Your tuition fee will determine if you need more fund or not. Add $10,000(living expenses for a year) to your tuition fee to know the amount you need to have for your studies. Apart from fund, your profile looks okay, just make sure you have enough fund |
Goodbloke:I don't have any in mind right now, but you can checkout some European countries to see if they have what you want and their visa process as well(very important). |
Goodbloke:Do your calculations and see if you have enough to study in Canada with or without scholarship, if you don't have enough cash to do that then you can try other countries with lower lower cost. The mistake most people do is they want to go to Canada at all cost and that (most times) backfires. What should determine where you study most importantly should be the cost, then other things. Canada is a great place to study but if you can't afford then you can try other countries (with lesser tuition fee and cost of living), and in future try Canada(that's if you still want to ). NB: What I said above is not just for you but for everyone reading this do please don't take it personal. Good luck |
Flashing:Leave it blank since you haven't done your upfront medical. If CIC want you to go for medical they will send an email to that effect later on. Good luck |
Goodbloke:Yes it will help with funds. If you secure funding then it means you don't need much money but I doubt if you will get funding for undergraduate program. |
Goodbloke:You have a chance of getting your study visa, though difficult but not impossible. As for the amount, you have to search for schools offering your intended course and see their tuition fee. Apart from the tuition fee, you need additional $10,000/year for the entire duration of your program (since you are sponsoring yourself). i.e If let's say your Bsc program is for 3 years, you need to show tuition fee for the 3 years + $30,000 ($10,000/year) for your living expenses. As you can see the fund might be too much for you to afford at once. Another option is if you have a sponsor, he/she can help you with funds that covers your tuition and living expenses for just one year and he will show proof that he can continue paying for other years(this proof can be his source of income and commercial properties). |
FolaRauf:Let them pay your tuition fee and transfer your living expenses into your account (that will cover your funds). Also, they can include their own SOA and any other document such as company registration, tax etc. |
boommer:How old are you and what have you been doing for the past 8 years? All that will go a long way in determining your chances |
Francology41:Your school will be in better position to answer this question. Some schools pay the funds to the sender's account, while others pay to the student's account. So contact them to know |
harveygordon:No it won't, you stand a better chance getting TRV with your masters application (since you already have Bsc). Feel free to apply for masters |
waynee2baba:That's not true bro. No two cases are the same bro. |
Boscojugunu:While you are waiting for someone to answer you visit www.google.com to search for what you seek |
oyatospecial:Applying from UK won't be am issue for you since you are a legal resident there. But why don't you roundup your masters in UK then go to Canada for PhD or via express entry? With your UK masters, getting express entry will be very easy for you(though it also depends on your age). |
Alexandraonwu:Did you request for your gcms note in both cases? If no, then you should do that before you think of reapplying. It is better to aim 10 times and cut 1s than to aim 1s and cut 10 times. Hope you get my point? Don't be in a hurry |
ShinningStar27:Your boss can co-sponsor you as long as he shows commitment by paying the money into your personal bank account or pay your fee(depending on what his fund will cover), but he has to pay the money to you or your school since he is a third party (not your parent or sibling). As for the amount you need in your account, has long as you have enough to cover the entire duration of your program (tuition fee and living expenses) you are good to go. You need the entire amount now because you are sponsoring yourself (I hope your program is for a year, if not the fund you need to show will be much). Good luck |
Oluwanifemi34:Yes you need both, let her write a letter of support stating she is co-sponsoring you with $Bleep and she has showed commitment by paying the said amount to your account (state the date of the transaction). Also she should state the reason she is co-sponsoring you (you are her brother and she feels supporting your dream will not only help you but the entire family). Her SOA of account and that of company is also needed to show source(just to clear any doubt). Also, since she owns a business she should give you copies of the business registration and tax papers(if possible).... anything that relates to her business |
Oluwanifemi34:Since it is one year, you should act as the sponsor (since you paid 20k yourself) , while your sister act as co-sponsor then she needs to transfer the balance of CAD 7k into your personal account (for the balance of your tuition fee + flight or your living expenses). NB: I saw your PM , but sorry I don't attend to PMs for now. Feel free to ask all questions here and I will try to attend to them if I am chanced, also it gives other people the opportunity to say what they know so we can all learn . Good luck |
Oluwanifemi34:The issue here is not adding people's SOA but how much are they contributing towards your studies. Adding your mom's SOA of 2m isn't bad, but how much of that money is she committing towards your studies? As for your sister, she can't transfer all the money from her company account because she needs to show she has enough to still run her business after sponsoring you. What's the duration of your program? That will give me a better idea of your case |
Oluwanifemi34:So what will she eat or take care of herself after transferring the 6m to you? Proof of funds is not just about showing big figures but about how you are able to distribute it accordingly. Let's do it this way: You have paid 20k already and have a balance of 5k to pay, so you need to provide 5k + 10k(living expenses for a year). Let's say the 3m in your account covers your living expenses, so you need CAD 5k and flight fare+let's say CAD 2k) = CAD 7k Let your sister transfer the naira equivalent of CAD 7k to you , that way she will still have some cash in her personal account for herself and other dependants. I want to believe your program is for a year, but if it is not then let your sister act as the main sponsor and you as the co-sponsor. This way you don't have to show funds beyond the first year but your sister (the main sponsor) will have to show how she intend to pay for subsequent years+by showing how she makes her money......if she works then she needs to show proof and how much she gets paid for it, if she is into business she also needs to show proof). |
mzjokky16:Yes your sponsor's SOA will do(I want to believe that's what you applied with) |
mzjokky16:Carry some cash(for emergency and some other things you might need on landing ) and leave the rest in your account, a printed SOA will be enough (the immigration officer might not even ask for it). Make sure you inform your Nigeria bank that will be traveling so they can help you out on how to withdraw money outside Nigeria (I know of someone who had issue of using his MasterCard). Also consider what @JustMellow said and see which will be more convenient for you |
Eukochio:You need at least 10,000CAD/ year for your living expenses and will need to provide additional funds for the number of people following you(I think around 4,000CAD / person.......check CIC website to confirm that just to be sure). As for getting them enrolled in schools before applying, that would be great as it will show the vo you are well prepared. Try to contacts schools or daycare around your institution and let them know you will like to enroll your kids and hear what they have to say. Another option is: Apply alone and use your kids as home-tie(especially if you have someone they can live with while you are gone), then apply for them once your application has been approved (you can do that while in Nigeria or in Canada). Good luck |
dguyindcorner:SOP is only needed if you think you need to explain some certain things to the vo since you won't be invited for interview (they hardly invite for interview). So, look through your app and if you think there somethings that you feel the vo needs to know and it will improve your chances of getting TRV then write an SOP, but if not then no need. NB: Many people have gotten their TRV without SOP, same goes to those that included one Good luck |
Desmondola2020:Sorry for late response. Your profile seems good but you didn't state how you tackled the "Purpose of visit" issue. What did you study in your UG level? That will determine if it tallies with your MBA program. But apart from that your app is solid(especially financially, personal asset and home-ties) |
Useful1:Feel free to mention all of them, but also state they are married and are taking care of themselves. You are only required to provide funds for people that are under your care, but since they are not it won't affect the amount you have in your account. NB: Mentioning them doesn't mean they are traveling with you, CIC just want to know your family members(fill the family info form), but the part where CIC ask if any of them is going to with , say NO. Good luck |
peruz:Thanks bro, try to contact other guys here if they can assist. Good luck |
